My husband and I booked Ben Warner for his services for our September 2020 wedding. We paid him for most of the services ahead of time. While COVID was still a large factor, we communicated with his business partner and wife through email in case anything were to fall through. We even discussed having him primarily play outside to stay safe. Up until a little over a month before our wedding, he cancelled on us- after several discussions leading us to believe that would not be the case.

While we totally understand a vendor cancelling for COVID reasons, we were not prepared for them to keep all of our money paid to them. They stated that because they had coordinated EMAILS to secure other musicians for our wedding, the fees we paid to them (>$800 if not more) would cover services rendered. These musicians were not going to be playing at our wedding so I’m not sure what services they meant.

All in all, I was devastated that Ben and his wife would take advantage of us and other people this way. It was heartbreaking to have to scramble and find someone else last minute when they had MONTHS to make the decision to cancel us.

I could even understand only giving us a partial refund, but they took every single penny. This was the only vendor that did this to us. Anyone else who canceled us, refunded us.

We were at fault in that our contract didn’t cover unexpected pandemics and there was no clause about them cancelling on us in the contract so we just lost our money.

While I’m sure Ben Warner is a talented musician and DJ, he does not care about their clientele. They have no problem stealing from their clients as was made evident to us later on. It felt slimy and dishonest.

There are plenty of other talented musicians and DJs in this area- consider them before Ben, especially if COVID is still around. He will take your money so fast and give nothing in return

Ben Warner failed to render agreed upon and contracted services and refused to refund any monies from deposit after he terminated.

On January 2019, we contracted services with a deposit for $627 for a June 2020 wedding. We had close communications during May 2020 to ensure Ben T Warner would be able to work the wedding worship with all of the uncertainties of the virus and executive orders of North Carolina. It appeared that they were noncommittal in April & May to the extent of recommending to us that we get another company to do the event. They canceled only 18 days prior to the event. At the time, NC actually had exceptions for weddings and funerals that allowed us to proceed. Fortunately we were able to scramble and find another vendor.
