As a band director, Big Note is the BEST. Here is my experience:<\/p>\n

BEGINNING OF YEAR MAINTENANCE\/REPAIRS: After meeting the business owner through work with Atlanta CV, I decided to try them out for the first time this past summer. They showed up early on the morning we agreed to and then spent approximately 8 hours sitting in our parking lot repairing instruments. Since there were so many repairs, they happily offered to come back the next day, where they continued working for about 5 more hours! They probably fixed 30 instruments, and did a FANTASTIC job on every single one. It is also important to note that these repairs stood the test of an entire marching band season. (July 9-November 5 for us). They fixed the instruments and they stayed in working\/playing condition all year.<\/p>\n

EMERGENCY REPAIRS: We have had 2 different occasions where an instrument needed to be repaired on extremely short notice. On both occasions, Big Note was knocking on our band room door within a couple of hours to repair the instrument. The latest instance of this was today where they took a sousaphone that was absolutely destroyed and repaired it within an hour. My assistant and I were both blown away.<\/p>\n

FREE REPAIRS: I don\u2019t know if this is normal practice, but on 2 different occasions, they fixed one of my personal instruments. They made special trips out to my school and charged me absolutely nothing. They are very good people.<\/p>\n

COST: Same if not slightly cheaper than the other music stores I work with. The difference is that instead of being out an instrument for a week, you\u2019re only out for an hour or so.<\/p>\n

BILLING: They have made it work with my county\u2019s school requisition process. No problems here.<\/p>\n

BOTTOM LINE: 1) They do great work. 2) They do it for reasonable rates. 3) You get the instrument back WAY faster than if you went to your local music store or send it off with a sales rep. As a band director, I will continue using them to repair my school-owned instruments and I would recommend other band directors to do the same.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering a keyboard, keyboard stand, and stool from Music and Arts, and I must say that my overall experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, this company has displayed a complete lack of competence and customer service, leaving me frustrated and furious.<\/p>\n

First and foremost, the lack of transparency regarding the availability of the items I ordered is inexcusable. It wasn\u2019t until I called them in late January to inquire about my order that I was informed about the backorder situation. I wasted over a month eagerly waiting for my package, completely unaware that it wasn\u2019t even close to being shipped.<\/p>\n

Finally, in late March, I received the keyboard, but to my utter disbelief, there was no sign of the promised stand or stool. Naturally, I contacted their customer service department to rectify the situation, only to be met with complete apathy and indifference. They claimed that they couldn\u2019t help and that I wouldn\u2019t receive the missing items. This level of disregard for their customers is absolutely appalling.<\/p>\n

To my surprise, a month later, I received a second shipment containing another keyboard, stand, and stool. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. Instead of providing clear communication and instructions, Music and Arts remained silent. I waited, hoping they would reach out to resolve the situation, but instead, I received an invoice in the mail, demanding payment for the duplicate order.<\/p>\n

Determined to resolve the matter, I called customer service once again to explain the ongoing issues. Initially, they assured me that I wouldn\u2019t be charged and that everything was under control. However, my hopes were crushed when, a month later, I discovered that they had charged my credit card for yet another keyboard. This not only angered me but also meant that I would have to pay interest on an item I never even wanted in the first place.<\/p>\n

Attempting to rectify the situation, I contacted their customer service yet again, only to be met with further frustration. They insisted that they would not process a refund until I returned the unwanted items, putting the burden on me to take time out of my schedule to deal with returning their mistakes to UPS. This added insult to injury, as it is their responsibility to resolve their own errors promptly.<\/p>\n

To make matters even worse, the following day, I received a bill from a collections agency, demanding payment for the keyboard that I had never authorized. It is unfathomable that Music and Arts would make an unauthorized purchase on my credit card, showcasing their complete lack of professionalism and respect for their customers.<\/p>\n

All in all, my experience with Music and Arts has been nothing short of a nightmare. They have consistently demonstrated incompetence, apathy, and a complete disregard for their customers\u2019 time and money. Not only did they fail to provide the items I ordered in a timely manner, but they also made unauthorized charges on my credit card and showed no urgency in resolving the matter. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with Music and Arts to steer clear and find a more reputable company that values its customers. Music and Arts, you truly suck!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Great music teachers, great store! Anyone involved with orchestra here knows Katheen Jones is the best string teacher in the area!! She is very knowledgeable and professional. Our daughter took lessons from her for 12+ years and became very accomplished on the violin at the college level. She was always 1st or 2nd chair in orchestra, winning competions, and excelled with her music due to Kathleens top teaching methods. This rating is in no way regarding the store itself, but pertains more to the on-line side of the business overall. I placed an order for a cleaning kit through Music and Arts on-line store for my son days ago and have yet to receive the product. When I called customer service for an update this week I was told the kit was on back order and no update was available as to when it would be completed. I called again the next day for an update and again. I was told they didn\u2019t know when the order would be completed and that they sent an email to the Associate handling the issue which should take a day or two for a response. It\u2019s now day 3 and I have yet to hear from anyone. What concerns me the most is that I never received communication the order was on back order day one and that it\u2019s now day 3 and I have yet to receive a call from a Supervisor or the business with an update. I placed the order online initially thinking it would arrive to my son whose away in college sooner than it would take me to purchase it in store and pay for shipping. Now, I\u2019m having to drive to their store which is more than an hour away, purchase the kit and pay for shipping. It\u2019s going to cost me more in gas, time, purchasing the product and pay to ship it myself. I would advise ANYONE to buy from this business online. Friendly staff, clean environment and plenty of stools to sit in if you decided to pick up a guitar and play. But unfortunately the the selection was not there for me. Not trying to be negative but it really seemed as a store where somebody had went around for a while picking out the best guitars they could find at surrounding pawn shops cleaned them up and opened a store. Not saying you can\u2019t find a good guitar at a pawn shop and not saying that they didn\u2019t have guitars there just very dry selection.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My experience with these folks is that they are in it to help musicians. Surely running a music store (or any retail store) has some unique challenges. However, these folks are VERY receptive to any suggestions and are giving a nice flavor to the downtown area. Very positive VIBE. Stop by and talk with the owner. Very generous to the DDA and the city. Good citizens.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I wish more music stores were like Guitars-N-More. The people were all very helpful and friendly. They gave me an amazing deal on a sweet ltd flying v and an Ibanez amp.
