Very disappointed in the two salesman. Didn\u2019t care if I bought a guitar or not. Very poor attitudes. Not interested in me at all. I was being friendly and told them that I couldn\u2019t play very good and I have bought a guitar from them in the past. I finally asked them to think about one for me and call me back. I said do you want my phone number and he dropped a pad and pen in front of me. My friend who was with me said I don\u2019t think they want your business. Iam 64 from Atlanta and just wanted a guitar while I was visiting my daughters. I\u2019m a retired paramedic firefighter and those salesman need help.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I wasn\u2019t to please with my recent visit. I paid to have a few instruments fixed and they fixed one but the other one was in the same condition as before. Knobs making noise and the input popping. I brought it back thinking maybe it was an honest mistake. Turns out they had sprayed it with canned air before for $20. When I brought it back he did the same again. Issue was never fixed nor a refund. I am normally pleased with their customer service but I felt like I was conned out $20. This last time I took it and blew with my breath into the input and some dust came out and now it plays great.<\/p>\n

Happy they fixed my first guitar but not satisfied with my bass and the last time I asked for advice on what cable to grab, they gave me a trs cable for a balanced input that come to find out doesn\u2019t work right, so I am giving this two stars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Called to ask if they had two common guitar items in stock, and was promptly told they do not carry those items. Stopped by an hour later to find they did have them in stock. While brousing the store more than half of thier merchandise is packed up (bare shelves), and I was instructed by the staff not to touch anything I was not going to buy.

I agree with others who were disappointed with the petty \u201c5 minute play time\u201d rule. If you\u2019re looking to spend 2k or more on a guitar, better hurry and figure it out soon and spend that cash because they only let you try a guitar for 5 minutes on a lifetime purchase. Genius. I will happily drive the 2 hours to Blue Angels in Pensacola and spend my money on a guitar where the business allows players to find the right instrument for them. I will never be back to this place.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My son goes here for guitar lessons. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The staff are knowledgeable and you can sometimes catch them playing the instruments, do you know they have a passion for what they do. If I could give negative stars I would, it pained me to give even one. I also hesitated to write this review, because maybe I was being sensitive or maybe I was more in the wrong than I wanted to admit at the time but after talking to MANY people, I have drawn the conclusion that I was really not in the wrong and people should know about your lack of professionalism and your lack of compassion. I picked up the guitar for the first time in my nearly 32 years in February. I was teaching myself to play and truly just getting a feel for the instrument. With that said, I wanted to get some different picks and possibly a capo, so myself and a friend went to UpBeats music store in Crestview. While in there I was entranced by the many beautiful guitars displayed. I wanted them all! Now let me preface this by saying that I made it known to the employee (owner, or whoever the unpleasant long braided haired \u201cgentleman\u201d was) that I was VERY new to the guitar, less than 2 weeks of messing around with it. I also made it known that I am a single mom of 4 kiddos and money wasn\u2019t something I could throw around on something until I knew for sure I was going to stick with it but that if I did find it to be something I really enjoyed doing and wanted to pursue it then I would be back for one of the beautiful guitars I was drooling over. He had a somewhat \u201cbetter than you attitude\u201d from the start but I dismissed it because I\u2019m not one to get upset about being judged for who I am, I live by the three F\u2019s (which I won\u2019t describe here). Anyhow, I found the picks I wanted and then located the capos. Grabbed one, not thinking they were going to be nearly $30. At the counter I realized the price and I decided not to get it because again\u2026.newbie, single mom, money isn\u2019t growing on trees around here and I wasn\u2019t ready to invest my grocery money on something I hadn\u2019t quite committed to. I made the comment to my friend that I would just buy something cheap on amazon. The unpleasant long haired man then picked up my picks and proceeded to put them back on the shelf and tell me \u201cyou can buy those cheaper on amazon too\u201d I asked him if he was being serious and he replied with a \u201cYes\u201d. That\u2019s when I realized he was, in a round about way, kicking me out of the store for stating to my friend, that I was going to get a cheap option elsewhere\u2026.Now, I\u2019m not ignorant to the fact that small businesses depend on local support, and I am a HUGE supporter of local small businesses. So much so that I have sense bought not one, not two, but FOUR guitars from local businesses, numerous Elixer Guitar strings, picks galore. But I have not spent another dime in UpBeats music, nor will I ever. The folks at Playground Music in Fort Walton are AMAZING and I will gladly spend the money on gas, and drive the hour south, for a $4 bag of picks and a guitar worth a few hundred dollars\u2026..might have ordered my first capo on amazon, but I bought my $30 Keyser Capo at Playground Music. UpBeats, you lost a potential loyal customer by your lack of compassion and patience. Oh and yes, I have stuck with the guitar\u2026.in fact it is my new found love and has helped me heal in so many way, thank you for not completely discouraging me that day. You get one star for showing your true colors before I spent my hard earned money in your store. Thank you for that.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I paid to have two saxophones serviced at UpBeat Music in Crestview. I paid $90 each for an all over check and repair. I recieved both back and had some concerns about one of the saxophones. I was having a hard time hitting low notes. I have been out of practice so I didn\u2019t think too much of it. I went by a different store to purchase a new mouthpiece and while I was there I asked them to run a leak light down the instrument. Well it ended up having a lot of leaks and several were pretty bad. I had the second saxophone also checked out and it too had leaks although there were only two and both were adjusted on the spot. The first saxophone had more than 4 and two were severe. I contacted UpBeat music and let the owner Dick Reinlie know of the situation. I asked for a partial refund on one of the service charges. So although I paid $180 to service both I was only asking for 1\/2 of the saxophone that had severe leaks ($45 total asked for refund). I did offer to bring the instrument in (the repairs had not been completed) so he could verify that it was not done correctly and know I was not making it up. Mr. Reinlie responded with a variety of responses to include, \u201cYou dissed my store\u201d and \u201cYou should have never had it checked by someone else. If you thought there was a problem you should have come in and anyone who checks the instrument will find something wrong every time because they are out to prove my store wrong.\u201d Through it all he did offer to have his service person repair it again. I did decline because I personally feel if such a sloppy job was done the first time, I would prefer to have someone else do the repairs going forward. I no longer held any confidence in repairs. I did tell Mr. Reinlie that I would not be able to use the store for repairs but could continue to shop there for reids and such. He continued to rant at me and tell me I was \u201cbeing ridiculous\u201d by going to another facility to have it checked and declined to look at the instrument to see the leaks for his own reference. By the end of the conversation, I was more disappointed in the company than at the start. I had purchased $80 in supplies the day before the repair conversation. I went into the store later the same day and returned the unused items. I had my 14 year old daughter and 8 year old son that had no idea of what had transpired. Upon the return Mr. Reinlie saw my name (I had not said anything of our disagreement, just that I wanted to return some unused items) and then proceeded to yell about how his store (UpBeat Music) was \u201cdissed\u201d by me and I was being \u201cridiculous\u201d. I stated I was not there for an argument and left the store after receiving a refund and a 5 min rant from Mr. Reinlie while my refund processed. Upon leaving, my 14 year old said, \u201cMom what was that?! I mean clearly he was mad but he was the rudest person I have ever seen to a customer! And you kept telling him you just wanted to have a return and didn\u2019t want to talk. He should be respectful even if he is angry.\u201d So through it all at least my children were able to have a lesson in adult behavior. We will not be back to shop at UpBeat Music and I hope this review helps others in the future.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I was gifted a violin and took it here to get tuned up for my daughter. They were very helpful and gave good recommendations. As far as instruments go they did not have a great selection, but they had some accessories that I needed as well. Dropped off a American Fender Strat Highway One HSS to get set up and get a fresh set of string. They lowered the action to low so now I have fret buzz on the low E just picking the string and fret buzz all the way down the neck on the low E and the A string. Pickups are way to low still. The bridge (closest to neck) pickup on the low E side is almost flush with pick guard still. Mid pickup is in the same place, and the pickup on the humbucker closest to the tremolo is still tilted at an angle. The tremolo is almost completely flush with the guitar. I can lift the whammy bar maybe a 1\/4 inch at best before its flush with the guitar with no more room to work. And, as far as pushing it down maybe an inch before I start to feel to much tension. I\u2019ve seen on line where people have a whole lot more give on the whammy bar almost being able to push it as far down where its nearly touching the guitar.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I\u2019m honestly shocked at all of the good reviews this place has. This is a guitar shop, not so much a versatile music shop as I had originally anticipated; and they let that be known as soon as I started to inquire about flute accessories and information. The guy was unfriendly and short saying, \u201cwe really only work on guitars here\u201d and seemed disingenuous and annoyed that I was even there asking about stuff for a flute. I\u2019m appreciative that I was able to leave with a little something of a cleaning kit but, I have never felt so unwelcome in a shop like that before and will not be going to this \u201cmusic store\u201d again. I\u2019m interested in an 814CE. I have had a 614CE for years but wanted something more traditional sounding than the maple of the 614. Lots of empty guitars hooks, either replenishment is lacking, or lots of guitars are in the back room. Had someone said hello, I would have gladly ordered the Taylor, and brought my daughter back to play the Luna, then order the nicer Moon Flower version. Went in for an acoustic replacement part and the guy gave me a part for another guitar that was close but not right. Being an instrument shop, the guy should know what works and what doesn\u2019t\u2026or at least what to look for, for compatibility. It\u2019s no big deal that I wasted the time and money\u2026it\u2019s the lack of knowledge from their part. I\u2019m going to measure everything myself and order online, cheaper.<\/p>\n

Also, come on, guys, every time I\u2019ve gone in there (over 9 years) it\u2019s always the same\u2026dirty and dusty with a bunch of used unorganized crap everywhere. There are always people just sitting around and talking. I\u2019m all for a cool hang out, but how about getting up off your butts and working your store a little. You have so much room and stuff, clear it out, clean it, and put it back in a better\/improved way.<\/p>\n

Lastly, your used acoustic guitars are miserable. I understand they\u2019re used\u2026but your prices are high and every guitar I looked at had major issue (cracks in the sound board or missing electronics with gaping holes).<\/p>\n

This place is a rip off\u2026.cost me 60 dollars to have my 12 string worked on and when I got it home the electronics still didn\u2019t work and when I complained about it all I got was a runaround. They wanted 150 dollars to replace the pre amp in the guitar and I told then no way. I went on ebay and bought the pre amp for $8.83 and it took me about an hour to fix it. Also the brand new strings they charged me for were all corroded. Beware of this place I will never ever do business with them again.
