The workers have great personality and always try to make a way to fix any issues with instruments! In fact, one of the workers got me into playing ukulele and now I’m addicted!
Went in to get a valve part replaced, was in and out in less than 10 minutes! Great service!
Love Jackson’s Music! Have been our go-to music store for my mom’s guitar needs, and my kids violin needs. Always very helpful! Went in yesterday to have my daughter’s violin repaired and they fixed it immediately!! Have gone above and beyond to help us with fixing every problem, ordering things we need, and finding everything we have needed for a while now. Check them out
Very friendly staff. They make you understand about the different instruments if you have no knowledge about it.
Great shop for band instruments as well as player instruments.
Good selection of accessories
They have fair prices and a mini guitar-center-like selection of guitars. My only complaint is I felt pushed to make a sale when I looked at guitars.
My music teacher wants me to have a metronome. Went in looking for a metronome. They didn’t have any, which was odd for a music store, but I wasn’t upset about it. On my way out, another associate clarified that they don’t carry metronomes because most people simply use their phones; totally reasonable. I clarified that I prefer a physical metronome, and I’d look somewhere else. The associate then told me that “professionals and real musicians use the app” and undermined my preference for a physical one. “The customer is always right” is not a maxim held by Jackson’s music. They assert that they know best, and in my experience come across as somewhat unhelpful and arrogant.
We just went to this place to rent a student flute for my daughter’s first year in band. My first red flag should have been that they told me they, “weren’t sure” if they would rent an instrument for fifth grade. It kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Mind you- the only reason we went to the store in the first place is because the school gave us a flyer advertising their rental options. We sat and waited for them to “process and pull” the rental and print my rental agreement. A different person than I initially spoke with came out and told me that they could not approve me for the rental. I’d say that their standards are pretty stringent. I have a great salary job on my application. I can get approval for a credit card, a car note, but not a student flute? They collect your card and account info. How high risk can it be considering that they can withdraw my 30 bucks every month? I told the man “You know what? That’s ok, I can have my mom come up here and do it, she has great credit.” He then proceeded to tell me that he will not allow grandparents the rent instruments, only parents. Uh…What?? What difference does it make? What about the kids whose guardian is not their parent? It’s just a bit much for a 30 dollar a month commitment and a 400 dollar instrument. He told me of their rent to purchase option. You end up paying 850 bucks for an instrument that retails half of that and pay more than the instrument is actually worth in a down payment. No thanks. He also offered to sell us one for 250. For a first year music student who may end up not liking band? I think not. We took our business to New School of Music 5 minutes down the road and it was quick, easy, and actually more affordable. My husband is always in the market for another guitar (purchase not rent) and we will be getting guitar lessons for my middle child. We definitely not be purchasing any of our instruments or lessons from Jackson’s.
I called to see if they could do a repair on my son’s flute. They said to bring it in, they could do it but would charge an extra
20% for a rush job. I dropped it off and called in the next day to see if the repairs had been done, as my son had a Christmas concert he needed it for. I got Doug the repair man on the phone. He said he doesn’t do rush jobs and he was way to busy to deal with it. He treated me very unprofessional and they honestly don’t care about keeping anyone’s business. Please don’t waste your time here as I did.

Russ knowledge and expertise helped my students’ parent decide on what flute to purchase. What a great day!
Went to the store to have an instrument cleaned. The staff was amazing. They were extremely helpful and friendly. Better yet they were very quick to complete the service we needed. I would recommend the store to anyone looking for a music store.
Been coming here since I was a child. Always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Every few years when I get nostalgic for my high school music days, I’ll come get an instrument repaired or get a lesson book to mess around with. They answer my random questions with care. This store is timeless and magical, like that hogwarts wand shop vibes or something. Good vibes.
Not enough selection.
They are over priced and lame
Friendly service .
They were friendly, but we kinda felt they were stand offish because my husband was asking all kinds of questions and we kinda felt that they was tired of being asked the many questions that my husband asked. They had a low selection of items and we felt that we was being pushed out of the store because he asked us a few times if we was ready to check out. So after a few times of being asked we checked out and left. Not sure if we will be going back or if we will make the hour trip to Fayetteville for all of our needs.

Amazing they fixed my alto sax the same day I brought it in and I didn’t have to pay thank you so much.
Very nice customer service.
Great store! Fantastic customer service. The manager, TJ, is great and super knowledgeable!
I am a piano teacher and I have been shopping at this location for many years. In general I am very pleased with the service and the selection. The staff is friendly, the shelves are well stocked, and they have a wide variety of music books and materials for piano. Anything they don’t have they can order for your or get transferred from another store. It usually arrives within a few days and they are very conscientious about calling to let you know it arrived in the store for pick-up. If there is a specific song you are looking for they will search it online and print it right there in the store for you.
They also have many good sales throughout the year. I have recommended the full-size digital pianos to my students and have always been pleased with the quality. Many times you can get full-size digital pianos for $400, which is a great deal for the decent quality. However, keep in mind that the staff works on commission so they will try and sell you the more expensive item. Listen to your music teacher, and get what they recommend, not the sales people.
They have material for both ABRSM and NFMC Federated Festival.
They are also very supportive of the local music teachers association. On a regular basic they provide hospitality and refreshments for our monthly meetings.
Several of my high school students have also worked there over the summer. I like that they are good at hiring temporary summer help.
The only thing to be cautious of is renting instruments. I have never rented so I don’t have personal experience, but I have heard stories from my students renting instruments for band or orchestra. Make sure you know all the details of the contract you’re signing and read all the fine print.
TJ, the store manager, was very helpful. We’ve been going to him for 5 years for our violins and have been very pleased!
They are very efficient and there all the time and so nice
I called and some dude named TJ hung up on me
This company took about 300.00 out of my bank account without my permission. I even called after the first time it happened to let them know I am filling bankruptcy, they quickly hit my account for more even after I told them to stop using this account. Now I have to wait and see how long it takes to get my money back.
Since step in, sales reps didn’t pay attention at all, their were only 1 customer there before I step in. Waited about 10min, to try it to ask them for a help, no one pay attention.

Address: 378 Glynn St N, Fayetteville, GA 30214 , A Baña , Georgia , United States
I think the owner was very nice he helped me find the right saxophone and he helped me dodge a off brand one
This place is great. Everyone is friendly. And mr Steve is s great guitar teacher. My 7 yr old son takes lessons with him. He’s patient and kind and a great teacher!!!!
This is a really great store with loads of musical equipment, basically everything you need and they also give guitar lessons here taught by highly skilled and competent professionals. I would recommend this store to anyone.
Not enough room to display musical instruments. Cold hearted atmosphere
Good selection
Guy was on phone the whole time…and we waited. Not sure this is the norm but it was my one and only visit
Expensive, great variety
It was obvious that my presence was causing discomfort to the manager/cashier/whatever. I was not allowed to play a certain Epiphone Les Paul (not even a Gibson) because ‘they wanted to keep it clean’. I am a frikin professional guitarist with 11 years of experience and no music stores have ever denied me of handling an instrument. Highly offending for a first time visitor’s impression.
Go to Guitar Center and avoid this place, you’ll be glad you did.

Terrell your amazing my dude thanks for all your information on the violin
You were a 5 star experience by yourself and I wish you the best.
Patrick was a great help in finding the perfect reed case
Had a Bach Stradivarius trumpet overhauled, cleaned, refurbished before I sold it. The service was not cheap, but the quality of the work was superb! The 24-year old horn looked almost brand new after chemical flush and re-work of valves, slides, as well as dent removal, and polish. It sold very quickly and a potential buyer, who happened to be a former professional musician, commented on how well it was serviced. Was very glad that I spent the money to have it serviced before it sold.
I wouldn’t say it’s the most amazing selection, but the staff are quite nice and the prices aren’t terrible. Descent local music shop
I have been there years ago.
The staff and employee was good but the guiter instructor was so bad old white men. For my experience, one day i wanted tell him I want to quick. And I said that. And then he walks around us and said to me ” I am a good teacher…” I have right to quit my lesson and he do not have right to treared me. It was so bad happen and I very frastrate that he still there.
Looked great for a right handed player… but lefties shouldn’t even waste their time unless you want a $100 starter…
We went in the store yesterday and the employee kicked me out of the store because I have a legitimate medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask. Lost out on my business.
I bought a Piccolo at an academy in November, but I had a problem with my bag, so I visited him on November 15 and asked the company again, the staff told me. However, the company did not call back after a month, but the answer was not from the company. So I applied again. But now the year has changed and they still can’t reach me. I’m really angry when I have to wait.
8. Megatone Music
Address: 44b Town Sq, Blairsville, GA 30512 , A Baña , Georgia , United States
Great owner – honest and knowledgeable. They have a constantly revolving selection of cool gear.
Store is awesome great customer service and killer selection!
My husband plays guitar. He always checks out guitar stores where ever we go. Megatone has a variety of instruments. Guitar lessons, accessories and repairs. They do carry some vintage guitars. I Highly Recommend checking out Megatone
Out if business
Despite receiving damaged item, supplying several pictures of clear damage, and messages from seller admitting it was damaged, they refused refund. Reviews from others with similar complaints also noted. Buyer beware.
I think this business is struggling and so they will be deceitful in any way to get a few extra dollars. Beware of this business, you will not receive friendly support if they make a mistake.
I highly recommend staying away from this place.
9. Dannys Music
Address: 1601 Baytree Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602 , A Baña , Georgia , United States
Great variety of guitars & a very helpful staff. I recommend Danny’s for any guitarists. Reasonable pricing too.
Rentals, sales, and lessons. The band rentals here are far cheaper than the school reps prices.
The four stars is for the very friendly young staff*
Danny is a really good guy but he could do a little better on his prices but all an all he’s a really good guy! Nice shopping experience
Great selection, but don’t expect to touch anything unless you commit to buying something beforehand. How in the world can you do business like that? Walked in looking for a nice, higher end, acoustic, which they have, and was met with an ultimatum of buying the instrument before I even touched it. Puhhlease.
No fun. Make sure to bring your AARP card and last three pay stubs if you expect to play an instrument.
Don’t get me wrong there’s a great selection of instruments but not being able to play any unless you want to buy anything that’s because of COVID-19, but Danny had no mask on I thought was pretty weird.
But no hate against Danny
You feel a bit like they are used car salesmen. They are high pressure, fast talking, slick, and pushy. You feel they are running you through a car sale, even talking about financing before you look at anything. This seems to be a common complaint but they just give a boiler plate reply”sorry for the misunderstanding.” The misunderstanding is on their part, not the customers. They dont seem to get it. It’slike they are preying on you and hope you dont catch on to the game. You feel like you’ve been a bit slimed when you leave. Chuck is ok. But you get the feeling he would run things differently if he could. He never said or implied that, but you could see it in his eyes. I’ve bought a couple of things i needed for my daughter because of their selection and special sale pricing for Christmas. Regular prices are ok. Nothing special. But they totally trashed talked my daughter’s guitar in a very offensive way by saying (after strumming one chord once) and said he refused to play it..which a couple of well experienced guitarists ( one with 60 years experience and hundreds of students taught) have complimented its sound and playability. This was done in an effort to sell us on another used guitar on their self which she was comparing to her own (which we discovered some serious problems with right when i was ready to get it…whew)…he even called the guitsr teacher over for a consult…the guitar teacher said it sounded pretty good….oops…he thought it was the guitar THEY were trying to sell. When the salesman said it was hers, not the stores, he exited quickly. They also gave us a super high quote to repair aN easily accessible cracked brace on her used backup ibanez guitar, at a price more than it cost new..mostly because they didn’t want to fool with it or they wanted us to trade it for something. Not sure. But given the very apparent difference between how they treat you and see you as a customer, I’ll go back to Vickers music in Douglas and spend my money with them. They seem to appreciate customers and try to help them find what the customer needs and wants to buy rather than push a product on a customer that the employees want to sell.
10. Ben Owens Music
Address: 1803 Plum St, Valdosta, GA 31601 , A Baña , Georgia , United States
Friendly smart staff with plenty in stock at great prices. Couldn’t ask for much better.
Nice atmosphere and very friendly
Great place to buy from and take lessons. Staff is highly knowledgeable.
I didn’t buy anything today but Chase was so friendly and helpful, when I’m ready I’ll be buying from them.
Not easy to find but I was in and out in 5 minutes. They had what I wanted and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend it.
Small business owners who are good at fixing and repairing instruments.
I used to take all my guitars to Ben when I lived here in the mid/late 90’s and it was always great! Not sure what happened, but I will NEVER let them touch my guitar again.
Took my guitar to get a few adjustments. Nothing major. Needed intonation, a small nut spur on the high e, and new strings(which I supplied.) Got the call 2 days later that it was ready. I grabbed it, paid my $70 and took off. I trusted them, so I gave it a quick glance and that was it.
Got it home and pulled it out. Hmm. My Floyd Rose Bridge was uneven, guitar was out of tune, and these were NOT the strings I gave. Tuned it up and the intonation was WORSE, still a spur on the high e, and when I tried my trem it wouldn’t budge. Wth.
Opened the back and they had BLOCKED my trem, not even a good blocking as the bridge was uneven. Didn’t touch the nut, didn’t even attempt intonation, and to add insult to injury they stole my NYXL strings. Including the extra set in the case.
Shameful how far they have fallen.
Total douchebags.
Garbage
11. McDonough Music
Address: 184 John Frank Ward Blvd, McDonough, GA 30253 , A Baña , Georgia , United States
J.B. is a great luthier. I trust him with my guitars, and he always takes time to talk to me to understand my preferences and needs as a player.
Great little shop in downtown Newnan.
They went the extra mile in chasing down some string buzz on a recently purchased strat.
You simply don’t get that kind of service from chains/online retailers.
Excited that there is a local place with great people to take my gear to in the future!
awesome shop, JB is a true craftsman. I would take my guitar for repairs again and again. you have to check out the guitars he is building, simply excellent.
just picked up an OG archtop harmony, price was decent and saved me from “the hunt”, and dude that sold it to me was cool, so no complaints. also check out some vinyl while there (the record store and guitar store are seperate entities but in the same storefront).

This is such an awesome store and the employees are knowledgeable and well-organized. Shout out to Gage for having all of the answers! It’s great to go into a store and see people that actually enjoy working there. Would love to visit again!
I love this place, I always feel right at home when I come here. The selection is great, the store is really well – kept up, and the staff is terrific, knowledgeable, and easy to get along with. Since I first started coming here in 2016, they’ve always made me feel welcome, and the fact that you have these familiar faces to come back to is one huge factor that keeps me coming back here instead of Guitar Center. Ken Stanton also does great guitar setups, and they always keep their guitars well – maintained, which is a detail a lot of stores miss. The reason I keep coming here instead of anywhere else is because this place has top notch attention – to – detail, a great variety of instruments, and staff that is simultaneously attentive, informative, and friendly. When Gary worked here, he was very friendly and helpful, and Patrick so far has been friendly and helpful as well. I’ve so far purchased three guitars here, as well as every pack of strings and guitar picks, had every single one of my guitar setups done here, and as long as this is the Ken Stanton I come back to, that’s not going to change.
Kevin and David were extremely helpful with my phone call today regarding a past purchase. Both were extremely pleasant and went above and beyond to help me. Great company, employees, and customer service! Thank you!
They always have the right drumsticks and reeds.
Much bigger than it’s cousin on Dallas Hwy. Has okay prices. The staff are fairly helpful. Nothing spectacular.
Nice place, nice workers, but, sometimes, the prices are higher than Guitar Center on the same products.
Do not rent from this location has no idea what they doing got my payment all messed up and now owe them they employee mistakes
Service is insanely expensive. Out of touch with value of instruments. Strange $1 estimate charge. Why bother?
Good prices….. but no experts:/
The staff just tries to make a quick sale!
