Room 13 Studio! It’s a Very professional Studio that makes you feel comfortable. You’re in an environment where you don’t feel like you are getting judged. Frank Ducati Is very chill and gives great advice when it comes to your artistry! He most definitely is a different breed when it comes to Mixing and Mastering! Much Love and respect!✊
Frank Ducati is a super talented producer! Personally, I’ve booked time for the past few months. Each time I go in he takes my vision and perfects it. It’s fascinating watching him do what he does. You won’t be disappointed.
Hands down one of if not the best suburban studio I’ve been to …. Good vibes and high quality engineering you can’t go wrong… highly recommended I never left dissatisfied with a song can tell my guy frank is there to master his craft just as much as you are and the final product never disappoints.
3. Revolution Music Company
Address: 107 N Addison Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126 , Addison , Illinois , United States
Friendly and knowledgeable. Solid repair work and cool selection of guitars. Will definitely be back.
Picked up the George Harrison Rocky Strat, pictures don’t do it justice. The guitar is exactly as described in mint condition and plays beautifully. The guys at Revolution Guitars were awesome, I couldn’t ask for a better transaction and its great dealing with a brick and mortar shop as well. I’ll be buying more guitars from them.
Great location and selection of vinyl. The owner Carlo is very knowledgeable of music and an overall cool dude!
Wide selection of records.
4. Mael Records
Address: 884 Heritage Dr, Addison, IL 60101 , Addison , Illinois , United States
Bought a piano based on pics and was very satisfied! Beautiful piano for our boys to learn on! In great shape and an awesome value for price paid! Glad I went with this family owned business! Give then a try if in the market for a piano!
Rick from American Music World moved an antique Parlor Grand Piano (weighing around 600 pounds) to my nephew’s house about 10 miles away a few days ago. Rick and his team were very professional, careful and nice. Rick called me giving me his ETA and was right on time. The price for the move was very reasonable. I highly recommend Rick / Ray. He knows his business.
Rick and his team moved my piano from Chicago to Indianapolis. From the start, it was impeccable service. I thought moving an heirloom, especially something big and delicate, would be a difficult process, but he made it so easy and quick. He is so friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. If you need to move a piano from point A to point B…look no further because Rick and American Music World will get the job done seamlessly and with a smile.
GREAT selection of Yamaha , electric and mahogany pianos and , Miss Morgan spoke to…
Horrible experience trying to sell them our grand piano. Rick was to come get the piano. He cancelled 5 times. Each excuse was more pathetic than the last. The final excuse was such a lie.
They moved my piano. Got the job done but I am not totally happy about the move. They are not professional enough. They don’t have anything to cover the hard wood floor and carpet like the professional movers. In addition, the guy Rick talks too much. Will not recommend their moving piano service to my friends.
7. Perry’s Music Center
Address: 154 E St Charles Rd, Villa Park, IL 60181 , Addison , Illinois , United States
As a teenager growing up in Lombard learning to play guitar Perry’s Music Center was my 2nd home. I would go there for hours and play on the guitars and amps.
I got a little better as time went on and started a band and Perry’s Music Center supported us in everything we did.
I moved to the Plainfield, IL area in 1999 and have not been to Perry’s Music Center until Sunday 04/30/2017 as I was in the area for a death in the family.
I went into the acoustic room and played on a few guitars – my mind and heart were flooded with so many good memories from the years past. It was a bit choked up , truth be told.
I went back today and bought an acoustic for my son and got to talk with my friend Rob. Still the same great guy from so many years ago.
As always, great customer service and attention to detail.
Perry’s Music Center survived the Guitar Center invasion of the Chicago area. That in itself should tell you a lot about Perry’s Music Center.
Thanks for all the great memories Rob.
Your friend always.

I completed Perry’s Music Center’s “Intro to Ukulele Class” at the Villa Park Library (6 lessons). It exceeded my expectations! I learned a variety of helpful material- tuning, a dozen chords, a few strum patterns, some chord progressions, a riff or two, and some tips to put everything together, play songs, and have fun. Over a dozen students attended, and we were all laughing and learning together. A big “thank you” to Rob and Jim for making the evenings so enjoyable and sharing their expertise. They patiently answered all my questions, and now I am confident that with practice I can (and will) be a better Uke player.
Perrys is a great local shop to buy or service your musical equipment. I’ve been going there for years the staff is great.
Very helpful and friendly guys here. Banjo setup took only a couple of days. Owner Rob Gurka and Jim Kraus gave me their undivided personal attention. I kinda wish I had more of an excuse to hang out and explore this place. I’ll be back.
Great shop for musical instruments and parts. Music lessons offered.
has new and use equipment also offers lessons. Great place to start
Never open for business.
Wish I could leave a lower rating. We brought a guitar here to have some minor repairs done. Right off the bat it was an uncomfortable experience. We asked if he knew anything about the brand, he said no. We asked if, in his opinion, it was a nicely made or cheaply made guitar.. he said both.?? Then proceeded to tell us it was defective, even though he knew nothing about it, but he was more than happy to still charge us to do the repairs. He told us it would be ready in a couple days. Never called us. We finally called and were told, again, couple days. We went to pick it up and they had broken one of the pegs. Rather than replacing the whole set, or finding a matching one – since THEY broke a perfectly good peg – they decided the better idea would be to drill a new hole and put a completely different peg there. Even a different color. AND THEN CHARGED US FOR IT!! I wish we never stepped foot in that store. I’m writing this to try and prevent this from happening to anyone else. Oh, and the guitar was 10x better before we brought it in! Stay away from these guys!! I will say though, the kid behind the counter was very nice.

Jeff, is outstanding. Help with a Violin string and piano lesson. Very personable and helpful.
Excellent experience at this store! Johnathan and the manager Jeff helped my son choose the right saxophone for his skill level. Top notch all of the way – highly recommend this store.
Customer service has been absolutely horrendous. I’ve tried to contact them and after waiting for over 10 minutes the system drops the call.
Just came back from doing a clarinet rental, one of our worst experiences. Took more than 30 minutes for what was a 5 minute job. Made me sign up online for an account and do partial payments there and partial payments in the store. Store front desk seemed too busy with their office work to help the customers in the store.
Absolute worst service. I had broken instruments shipped to my school at the beginning of the year and they still have not sent me any sort of return labels. They don’t answers their phones and they are not helpful at all.
9. Reed Shoppe
Address: Elmhurst, IL 60126 , Addison , Illinois , United States
My daughters have been taking piano lessons at Luscombe for over a year now. I also took piano lessons there when I was younger. The facility is always nice and clean and the staff are always helpful. We love Ms. Elizabeth and look forward to lessons every week.
I knew the owner Mr. Fred Luscombe. He was very kind, wise and knowledgeable and helped me quite a bit as a new band director. His daughter now runs the store and she continues to be just as kind and helpful as her father. The store is neat and well stocked with musical merchandise.
The teachers are great but the instruments and rentals are not so great, since the recent downsize, you can’t find some things there.
Yearly music by the pound sale is AMAZING
way over priced
Extremely unprofessional. We got on the wait list, waited 2 months and got a call saying they had a spot for our day and time. We returned the call the next day saying we wanted to start as soon as possible. Office called us back saying the the instructor, Elizabeth Olson, should be calling us to make the final arrangements. She called the Sunday of MLK weekend, we were with family the next two days. We connected Tuesday and she wanted to do an assessment on the day we agreed on but a time that didn’t work and wasn’t agreed upon. She said she understood and arranged the following week on the original agreed upon time and day. We accepted, then she messages us and said she found another client that would use the extra day and bumped us out. When we questioned her motive, she said this is just business.

An amazing selection of records from all genres!! Old records, new records, rare records, Elmhurst Records has them! It’s always a fun time looking through their records, especially since they always have new arrivals
Great shop, they helped me grab a hard to find record on RSD. Will definitely shop here again!! Great friendly staff.
This place is great! They have a TON of vinyl and it’s all in alphabetical order! Some places will just throw all the A’s together and the B’s together…not here. Alphabetized within each letter. Good selection of new and used. The used is in great condition and priced reasonably.
Customer service is great as well. The clerk working when I was in was very knowledgeable about different genres and she was very friendly too.
If you’re in the area and looking fornbinyle, definitely check this place out.
Pre-Ordered a 10/4 album on September. Still haven’t received after 20 days.
Update: It was a $12 record and it has colored markings and scratches all over on the record. Not in the bargain bin.
I don’t appreciated being attacked for leaving a review when that was the experience. This isn’t hiding behind a computer, your business says all sales are final.
Sold us a completely dirty destroyed record. Not even sure we can play it.
15. SCARCE-LY Used Books & Records
Address: 800 S Rohlwing Rd Unit D, Addison, IL 60101 , Addison , Illinois , United States
The books are well organized by author last name & separated by hardcover & paperback. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m looking for more books.
Can’t complain. There are not many places that will provide used school supplies for teachers, because brand new items are outrageously expensive. Sometimes, it’s a hit or miss, and it can be a treasure trove if you find what you’re looking for. I have used some of the items in my classroom. Very grateful for a place like this.
This place is a hidden gem for media lovers. They have a great selection of records and CDs, as well as DVDs and books.
The priced are very reasonable. They may not have everything you’re looking for, but that’s the fun of used record stores.
Prices great so are peeps.. large selection of books.
I found nothing to buy. I am a book reseller though and I scan books in order to buy. They prescan their inventory and sell valuable ones online is my guess. Older volumes and series were overpriced.
Walked in not know what to expect looking for a Used book. Was directed to area of books available to the public. Didn’t find what was looking for we about to leave when woman working there approached me to explain store, idea behind store was great. She proceeded to demand that i wear 2nd mask. She then explained how rest of store was for teachers, I explained I was and she refused to believe me even as i walked out and got in school identified car. Won’t be back and advice other teachers not to visit this place.
Wack place, they make you wear masks
They still make you wear a mask in here even though the CDC came out and said masks don’t stop the spread. An owner this scared of covid doesn’t deserve my money. It’s almost 2023, grow up.

Shopping at this place is so much better then shopping at guitar center. Jason and one of the other managers there have helped me in the past. They are good guys who try to get you what fits, not up sell you on stuff you don’t need.
Customer Service is exceptional. I highly recommend Sam Ash.
Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful sales staff. Huge selection. Bought a new ukulele starter set. Followed up with beginner lessons and am enjoying the product and their teaching process.
Efficient low stress
I’d say my experience was very pleasant. I originally went in to get a quote of how much it would cost to get an old bass fixed, As a Valentines gift. It’s my Wife’s first bass, but I didn’t bring it with me. I only live around the corner so I wouldn’t have been an issue to get it & bring it back. I ended up purchasing a REALLY nice Fender for her. Everyone I talked to was very informal and helpful, all the way down to the end of the sale. All except one guy…. During my looking at the bass guitars he walked up and asked if needed help. I said not necessarily. I started to explain what I was doing there and when I turned around he was walking away from me. Awkward. Other than that great place, good atmosphere, and the employees are nice!
Meh…
Bought a shure sm7b. Clerk went to rear to get it. Then the manager came up and sold me the open box display mic. All at closing time. Mic strand did not have the adapter to fit. All waste of gas to return
Bought a wireless guitar rig….didn’t work at all. Was told used gear is always tested before putting it up for sale. Clearly this was not the case.
Please stop selling broken and worthless gear Sam Ash. Everyone will be better off.
Called the cops on my little brother because they thought he stole a guitar. What really happened was that he came in for lessons, lesson was cancelled and he walked out carrying the guitar he walked in with. Rather than say something to him they called the cops on him and he was pulled over in front of his house, handcuffed and brought back to the store, only to find out that the guitar he supposedly stole was sold earlier that day.
