I have been taking music lessons with Nima and it is a wonderful experience. I have learned so much about music theory, chords, scales, and so much more! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to take music lessons!

One star is too many. I found a Carvin 12 string on his Craigslist ad (under the OWNER section by the way) and contacted him. He said he would hold it til I came to LA in 4 weeks. I gave him my credit card number for a 10% deposit. He never charged it. Then when I got to LA with money in hand, he said he sold it the week before. Never called, texted, or emailed me back. I passed on several other guitars, and sold one of my prized PRS guitars so I could have the money for it. I needed it for a show this weekend and now I’m out, nothing I can do to have a 12 string for my show. Bad business. I held up my end, you didn’t hold yours.

Super helpful staff and our go to for all things musical instruments

Everyone at this store is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I am the mother of middle school band students with no previous knowledge of band instruments. Nick Rail has made it easy to get what we need.

We just discovered this music shop – Same-day fast and friendly service, and very affordable. This will definitely be our new go to place for violin strings!

When we went to return our instrument, we were looking to buy a student or intermediate model with our credit and pay for any amount not covered by the credit. However the feeling that we had was that they did not want to uphold their end of the contract and gave many excuses, and we were told that they did not have any such instruments only the really expensive professiinal level ones. When a company does not act in good faith, it’s better to just walk away and find another place with better service. We will not be going back to Nick Rail. We were able to use existing credit in a different music store prior to our experience at Nick Rail and purchased a student model instrument there. Nick Rails did not want to provide us with a similar service. Very very disappointing.

We wouldn’t recommend their rent to equity program. Firstly, you can get store credit, but you must purchase a muscial instrument on the day you return the instrument you’re renting. Otherwise, your credit is unredeemable. Additionally, you can’t buy any accessories (ex: a bow or books) but only an instrument.
Secondly, your instrument choices are really limited.
Thirdly, when you buy a musical instrument from them with store credit, you have to pay for the MSRP, which is the full price and a lot more expensive than the sale price.
Overall, it was an unpleasant experience.

DO NOT RENT OR BUY FROM THEM. GO ONLINE AND GET WHAT YOU NEED 4 TIMES CHEAPER THEN HERE. I rented a Sax for my daughter for 3 years paying $61.00 per month for an Alto Accent Sax with an option to buy. When the 3 years were completed they said that only 2 years applied for the buy option. I said ok how much more do i need to buy it? They still wanted $900 plus and i had already paid $1800 on rental and this type of Sax sell for $350 used online. I tried to use the money to buy something else because i had to get something equal or higher value as long as it was a band instrument. I ask for a clarinet that had the price of $1900 and they said that if i wanted that one I had to pay the resale price of $2400 so i still needed out of pocket $600 and I said but the price says $1900 and with no shame at all they said thats for someone that comes in and buys it here in the store but since you are using credit then you have to pay de resale price. The customer service was terrible and the way they steal people’s money and taking advantage of students its totally wrong. I hope they are giving money back to the schools for having them as the renters for their bands.

Sean the Guitar tech was extremely knowledgeable and kind. I brought in a broken guitar and he went above and beyond for a person he doesn’t know. The guitar came out better than I brought it in. He didn’t just fix it, he improved it. Thank you.

Westlake store is only 10 minutes from me..very convenient

Out of all the Guitar Center stores I have been to, this is a joke to have so close to their corporate office. Corporate should be ashamed to call this a store. I have seen better equipment in the local RadioShack. If you need more that strings or picks, don’t waste your time at this location. It’s as if they put all the crap they couldn’t sell into this one small room, and called it a Guitar Center. Drive to Northridge or Oxnard to see a real music store. Hell, the locality owned independents have better equipment and selection than these guys. Don’t waste your time shopping here.

SUMMARY: BASICALLY SCAMMERS DO NOT COME HERE FOR TECHNICIAN SERVICE
I came here as a brand new guitarist with my brother’s old guitar for a tune up, and the technician told me its a little more complex type and that I have to pay a little more. I was a little disappointed but I was willing to pay. I asked how much and he said $79.99. I told him I got quoted via telephone at $64.99, and that was the price I was expecting. He agreed to $70.00 with the cleaning service added on, and he said 1 week. It took 5 days until I got the call, and I went in to pick it up. I’m all exited for my guitar as I go in, greet him and see the guitar. I get to paying and he told me it was $107.something (don’t remember). I was shocked. I asked why it is so high when we agreed on $70. He said we never agreed on it and that I asked for the platinum package. I was so ashamed of this store since I used to come here for other instruments. He ended up bringing it down to near $100 but still, not cool. I rated 2 star instead of one because I broke a string shortly after and a different tech changed it for free. But all in all, take your stuff somewhere else cause they lie here. If y’all see this I hope your ashamed for scamming a broke teen idc if it was only $30, not cool.

They need self checkout. I just wanted to buy some guitar strings. But the two customers in front of me being helped by the sales staff were purchasing instruments. And of course the staff was trying to upsell them everything from a case, to insurance, lessons, etc…. I just needed a $10 pair of strings. I stood at the counter for 10-15 minutes with my card in hand, with none of the staff able or willing to check me out, so I left the strings on the counter and walked out.

I just built my first kit guitar from Bargain Musician. I must say, I was very impressed with the quality of the kit. They do not really come with instructions, though, other than some very general guidelines, so you will need to look at how some other guitars are built, watch lots of YouTube tutorials, and use some common sense. When that fails, you can email Zane at Bargain Musician, and he will be SUPER helpful! The standard 5-way switch didn’t fit well on my particular kit, and Zane sent me a new one at no cost. Excellent customer service. I am already planning to order my second kit from Zane.

As for the kit itself, I got the GK-027. The neck was straight, the wood well prepared and of high quality, and the inlay was beautiful. Basically, everything was right. The electronics are ok, and I didn’t see any need to swap them out for higher end stuff, especially since I was trying to stick to a budget. I did need to use a Dremel tool to open up the jack through-hole to get a better fit, but no big deal. I used Keda powder dyes (I practiced a lot on scraps first), and they worked very nicely on the flamed maple top, then applied some wipe-on poly. The neck and fingerboard are tru-oiled. The pictures don’t really do it justice.

Remember, the kit will be as good as you make it. If this is your first kit (like me), just take your time, do your research, and don’t get impatient. My kit turned out much better than I hoped for, on my first try. It plays very nicely, and I get just as much sustain as my neck-through Carvin. Overall, very impressed with the company, and the kit. Plus, it was a lot of fun to build!

We’ve had a great experience over the years with our alto sax rental for my son and we just recently purchased a brand new one for him. All from Music & Arts. Absolutely the best experience. Sales people in this store, especially Kingsley, are awesome. Any issue that came up was promptly addressed and they took the time to walk us through any questions we had.

This is a wonderful place to go to explore musical interests. Kingsley led my daughter in a free, private introduction to musical instruments called “the petting zoo” – he is wonderful – and she is thrilled to be starting trumpet lessons with Marcus after her “meet and greet” with him! Felipe, Shannon, and their staff are courteous and helpful. Thank you, Music & Arts for bringing music to my daughter’s life.:-)

My daughter has been coming here for over a year for piano lessons with Tristan. She’s only 5 and as you probably know, has a short attention span. Tristan makes the lessons fun and engaging and she absolutely loves coming every week. As a mom who waits for her the waiting area, I love the staff! They are funny, kind, and caring. By sitting in the waiting room, I get to meet the other teachers and can see the love and passion they have for their craft and they’re fun to talk to!

Music & Arts, I see your reply. The email address does not help unfortunately. I have have called and spoken to Corporate and gotten nowhere. I have an email from a school liaison so far nothing, and again at the store level nothing. So far all that has happened is I have had to repeat myself and my story numerous times and have yet to get any kind of resolution. Unfortunately giving me the generic email address to the corporate “customer service” group doesn’t help me at this point, I think we are way beyond that point.

How can you give negative stars! This store takes advantage of the schools that feed into it. Because of the amazing music program LCMS has kids need the ability to rent instruments. So we did over a year ago and have over $1000 in credit that we were told we could use towards a new one at “equal or greater” value in case we ever wanted to buy vs rent. I expected my son to quit but in fact he has excelled and is first chair, in the Jazz program and I want to reward him and use my credit. They are telling me I cannot use the credit towards the instrument he wants (which by the way is over $1000 more than the one they want me to buy) because the one he wants is “professional grade” and the credit only works towards “student” level instruments. What?? Why would I spend thousands on something he has grown out of and not something he can grow into? What is the logic? Let’s teach a child how to ride a bike with training wheels and when they are really good we will buy them a shiny new bike with another set of training wheels. That is the logic. I have called the store, the GM, corporate and have been told “sorry that’s our policy, that’s what’s in the agreement you signed”. The clerk at the store only told me I would get a discount and use my credit towards the equal or greater value they are local and get all the school business so why would they lie? So I signed the agreement I’m not a lawyer I trusted them plus I signed my son up for lessons. It is disgusting how I have been treated and the fact that my son suffers because I wanted so much to buy him this for his 13th birthday. I caution anyone please go to Nick Rail on Kanan, go anywhere else but this horrible place. They are too big and just take advantage of their fortunate position. I am going to the school board next.

I am highly satisfied with the service at an Next beat Studio, Specials and promotions help me out well. The engineer has good vibes and is friendly. He goes out of his way to make sure they have y music right and put out. By far the best studio i have ever been to.

This studio has a very warm and home-like feel to it. It’s clean, spacious, and very accommodating. I recently started recording out of Nextbeat studio and I’m very impressed with the studio and the services they provide. Sean makes sure of the sound you’re trying to capture comes through the production. Their objective is to make you feel at home, and that’s exactly what they’re doing!

Awesome recording studio. Very nice and friendly person. My first experience with them and I will come back again for my next album.

Intimate setting with beautiful selection. Anna, the family’s floor representative, is relaxed, welcoming and knowledgeable. She encouraged our taking time to sample pianos and compare for preference. Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of working with Ben Knauer at this location. They assisted me in moving my 1927 Steinway from Sacramento to Southern California. His Movers we’re careful and capable and his price was very competitive. All in all I am very happy with my experience and would recommend them to anyone looking to move their piano. I have also considered them restoring my piano and will update my review at that time.

Everyone is kind and super talented – and so easy to work with. Knauer offers a great music program for adults and children.

My son has been learning how to play the guitar with John for the past 4 months and I couldn’t be anymore satisfied with the progress he’s making! He really understands children and knows how to bring up their interest and support their goals. At the first month, we started with a 30- minute session. My son loved it he would be eager to practice the songs that he learned from previous lessons. We have now moved up to one hour sessions, which he totally cannot get enough of and allows him to learn more.

Kim Yarbrough, their voice instructor, is amazing. Not only can she explain and teach the mechanics of proper/healthy singing, her own voice is stunning (not all voice instructors have beautiful voice instruments themselves, even if they are singing properly…Kim has “magic” in her voice!) Kim was also good at boosting my daughter’s confidence, which is huge for a teenage girl, and it trickles to all elements of her life, not just music.

I bought a guitar from their site back in 2015. I was impressed with the customer service and the quality of the guitar. Can’t recommend them more!

Bought a guitar of a Reverb listing, no issues. Location was listed as Nashville, Tn. Contacted them about an acoustic listed on Reverb and the quantity magically changed from 2, to last one in stock. That was a few weeks ago and the inventory still has 2 listed in stock. Supposedly this one is in Nashville as well. Looked at the address on maps and it is a house. No telling where this gear comes from or what warehouse this company is connected to, but it isn’t what they claim. Something sketchy going on here.

Bought from them on ebay. Did not get what I payed for.
