I had such a great studio experience here at mana music. My recordings came out incredibly ~Michael is really a great person to work with! Supportive and sharp, yet relaxed enough to create a friendly environment for musicians and songwriters alike. Absolutely recommend!

All work done by Michael and Sarah of Mana Music Studio is done extremely professionally and in a timely manner, and it has been such a huge pleasure to work with them! Thank you Mana Music Studio, Michael and Sarah for such awesome work and supporting our music community in such huge ways. They are DEFINITELY the best on the island at what they do and you will not be disappointed working with them! Just awesome.
Michael’s attention to detail and quality is unmatched. There isn’t another recording studio on the island that can compare to the quality of his equipment and expertise. If you’re looking for top quality, look no further! I will definitely use this studio again in the future.

Spencer is a very personable individual who is very knowledgeable. The store itself is quaint and stock can be limited but it has pretty much everything that’s needed in general.
Drove an hour , website said open, answering service said open, closed during advertised business hours.

I was visiting the big island and wanted to buy a ukulele in Hawaii. I went to a music shop in Kona and they didn’t really seem interested in helping a tourist. When I was Hilo, I went to Hawaiian Ukulele And Guitar and Uncle Uke was very nice. He taught me four simple chords and showed me the beginning soprano and concert ukuleles in my price range. I was able to try both types and found the one that fit me. It was a very nice experience and I would recommend this music shop. FYI, the tourist couple after me asked for a ‘Made In Hawaii’ ukulele and Uncle Uke was very nice and told them they range from $800+.

This is a nice store with a knowledgeable and fun owner. Because of the prime location expect to pay retail prices. You can find cheaper prices if you shop around. I bought from him because he engaged my son and made it fun.
Unfortunately I can’t give 5 stars because the owner was unavailable to give lessons. He said he’s too busy and looking for a teacher, so things may change. I ended up taking my kids 2 blocks away to Hilo Ukulele and Guitar. Rick there gave the kids low priced lessons and threw some discounts for merchandise.
I guess if that store wasn’t available, I’d give this place a 5 star review. But competition does exist, which is great, so a solid 4 stars from me.
