First time here and that store was so clean and the most beautiful meats I seen and a while.. and piggly was wiggly
incredible variety of almost everything.
Good prices and helpful employees
Wow! I never thought that I would ever go to a PW and want to come back but this one is a great grocery store and a premier PW.
Small store great service
Prices were high but other than that, nice medium sized grocery store.
Who is this
Photos shown in Google maps are not from this store but for another one. This store is smaller, drab, rough concrete floors, unpacked boxes obstructing the access to parts of the produce section, masks not enforced, half the customers and half the employees don’t wear masks, narrow alleys, only safe time is 6 am.
Deli that refuses to make pizzas! They say pizza will be ready in 20 minutes, come to pick it up to find out they did not make the pizzas!
Deli that refuses to slice deli meat/cheese and if they do you can bet it will not be sliced as you ordered [may not even be the meat or cheese ordered!] and may be so thin the cheese and/or meat is stuck together and tears up when taken out of the wrapper!
We’ll be going to the Piggly Wiggly deli in Port St. Joe in the future!
3. Scipio Creek Marina
Address: 301 Market St, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
Delicious gumbo, grill shrimp, cheese grits, and collards!
From beginning to end. A pleasant experience. Great food & service. Angela was awesome!
AWESOME
Okay foor. Okay service. None of staff were wearing masks.
The half shell bar and grill always seems to be out of 4-5 things on the menu??
The main course items were very good. Prices have increased and there were items no longer served since the last time we there. Cheesecake slices are very bland and expensive for a tiny slice. Info only, there is an upcharge for using debit and credit cards.
Sat on porch for almost 40 minutes without being acknowledged. Approached bar to discuss with young man at bar to make sure we would be served. Very much disinterested in our problem.
“Servers not his issue “
Never again. High prices do not bother me.
Rude and unprofessional behavior is not acceptable
Stopped in last Sunday to bait and tackle and there was a pill on the ground in front of the counter, probably just a vitamin. Cashier came off a a bit rude when asked if a marina bumper sticker is free and she says “only if you buy something”. Seems like an odd reply so I guess this marina gets a lot of free-loaders. She wasn’t able to talk about the Suzuki products, saying the rep will be in Monday. Good inventory of tackle but I suddenly didn’t need anything. Its unlikely I’ll return.
Fuel prices are to high!!
4. The Tin Shed Nautical & Antiques
Address: 41 Market St, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
My kind of place! Old and rusty by the barrow full and new but eclectic for the “done with the tee shirt and visor” crowd (me). Spend an hour and don’t be rushed, there be treasures within!
This place has a unique inventory of art and crafts along with found items with beach/nautical theme.
It was a really cool and unique place to go to while on vacation nice stuff to see and buy. The gentleman that check me out was really friendly and super nice. Cool place to check out while your at the forgotten coast.
Interesting shop. They have a lot of authentic nautical items as well as typical local gift shop items. staff is friendly and helpful. building is part of the charm.
Overpriced and staff not very friendly.
Tons of trinkets and unusual gifts. Really liked our visit here.
Drove like a banshee all the way from Chief land to get there before closing (website says 6:00pm). Arrived at 5:10 to find the placed locked up. If you advertise specific times, should be open those times. Looks like an interesting place to get the type of items my husband (boat captain) and I are looking for. Suggest calling ahead.
Cool place but the owner us an absolute jerk dont waste your time all over priced and alot of made in China stuff
Went to The Tin Shed today for the first time in 2 or 3 years. The only positive thing I can say is the new location has much better AC than the old location. However, the quality of items has drastically gone downhill. The majority of the items are no longer authentic, in fact many still have tags that say “Made in Indonesia.” It seems that a store that prided itself on unique/authentic/nautical items is now full of cheap touristy junk. Also, at checkout the cashier asked us for a different payment method than AMEX because “they charge too much.” That’s the cost of doing business! I was tempted to turn around and walk out. If you have a sign listing it as an accepted form of payment, you should honor it. Probably will not return. Such a shame as it was a favorite store of mine in Apalach.
5. The Shop
Address: 16th St Drive, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
I’m sorry….cold rainy day and l stumble into the Gibson Inn….Awesome….J my bartender and his relief, the guy from Georgia, perfect combo…can’t wait to go back…
Had breakfast here.. Good food! Loved it!!
The Franklin is in the historic Gibson Inn , downtown Appalachicola Florida. We have dined there numerous times and it never disappoints. Last evening was as good or better than any meal we have ever had.. Recommend the following
Seafood dip and chips
New Orleans style shrimp
House salad
Triple Tail grilled
Bread Pudding..
Can’t go wrong
We’ve been here at least three times and every time we leave the experience was just OK. They are trying to be a fine dining place in Apalach. I applaud their attempt as there isn’t too many places like that on the Forgotten Coast. The food isn’t all that special and the service is good. Only been open a short time so hopefully they will work out the kinks.
Had a lovely Hemingway daiquiri at the Franklin for lunch on a Friday in mid-May. Ordered a crab cake sandwich, which tasted like the crab had gone off a bit. I asked the waitress to inform the kitchen, just in case my crab cake was part of a larger batch of crab that was prepped and needed to be checked on. (I didn’t ask for or want a refund — just wanted the back of house staff to know.) The waitress couldn’t have cared less, truly. No acknowledgement of the situation, no promise to speak to anyone, nothing. This was early afternoon and there were three tables sat in the entire restaurant, so it wasn’t a matter of anyone being extra busy at the time. I understand that everyone is having staffing and supply-chain problems right now, but this made me never want to go back. Everybody can make a mistake, but apathy in the face of problems is the kind of thing that will sink your restaurant.
Very Busy, weekend, service was good, portions were on the light side
Horrible bloody mary, horrible avocado toast. Horrible service. Very expensive
Food was fine but had a weird experience where a dish with an allergen was brought and they refused to bring a new dish out, despite that we’d been very clear about said allergy. Owl Cafe down the street is a safe spot if you have allergies – they are always abundantly cautious.
Yikes. What an absolutely beautiful place but who is responsible for the quality of..everything? On a Sunday, especially with the fantastic weather, at a place like this we were expecting brunch, a cheerful staff and a manager ensuring everyone was having a good time. Instead, we got a Tuesday afternoon at an empty sports bar kind of experience. Food was not impressive and was cold except for the soup that I enjoyed. Somehow the place seemed to be under-staffed and over-staffed at the same time. Our server who from what I could tell was attempting to wait on all of the tables was clearly overwhelmed while some of the other staff, while nice, seemed to have more of a not-my-job attitude. I have no idea what they were doing besides trying to figure out where table 45 had wandered off to. The actual table. However they did lose the business of four groups we watched leave before being served. It’s like management disappeared and the staff was left to fend for themselves with no direction.
8. Apalachicola Bay Chamber Of Commerce & Visitor Center
Address: 17 Avenue E, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
Wife participated in the, “Half Shell Hustle” 5k fire department fund raiser. Well organized event.
These people are the Very Best. I left my iPad down at the seafood Festival, the vendor i bought food from ( Up Grits Creek♥️♥️) turned it in, and I drove down to pick it up the following weekend. Smiles all Around.
Didn’t have what I was looking for.
This is my first trip to St. George Island. The East end State Park is mentioned, however there is no mention of The Plantation and that is private area that takes up the West End of the island and looking at a map about half the island. This should be mention or if not then access to the West of the Island is restricted do to The Plantation being a private gated community.
Not welcoming. Disappointing compared to the former center. No rest rooms.
THE BEACH WAS WONDERFUL . BUT DURING AN EMERGENCY A FIRE CHIEF EMERGENCY VEHICLE CAME RIGHT DOWN ON THE BEACH . AS I SPOKE TO HIM AND INFORMED HIM I AM A FLORIDA PARAMEDIC AND CAN HELP HE SPOKE AND AT THAT POINT I NOTICED A STRONG ODOR OF AN INTOXICATING BEVERAGE ( BEER OR LIQUOR) HE MANED A WAVE RUNNER AND SPED OFF .AND IN MY OPINION INTOXICATED

Walked in on a great bar, great band that had us dancing in no time. The staff is friendly, service is fast and prices are fair.
Great live music, friendly staff, beautiful establishment in historic downtown area.
Loved it!
Live music and comfy chairs.
Fun relaxed bar with great atmosphere and service.
Great local place for music. New owners have made some nice changes. Mostly a local crowd. Good selection of beers. Great service.
Terrible sound system or who ever is setting it up, doesn’t know what they are doing. Can’t understand the words to the songs. Too loud for such a small venue! Beer is a good price.
The male owner of this bar verbally attacked myself and some girl friends of mine today. He came up to us while we were sitting outside slammed his hands on the picnic table yelling and cursing.
I honest love this establishment however I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.
10. Majestic Jewel Inn of Apalachicola
Address: 73 Avenue E, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
June & Greg facilitated our wedding. We went to the light house in St. George. No decorations needed! The scenery took care of everything! Both are really Great people!!
Truly lovely people. Wonderful hosts. You will never regret meeting the owners and visiting their charming town.
Bring earplugs for the noisy bikers.
Absolutely beautiful house and rooms. June & Greg are wonderful hosts and we will be coming back.
Need to add a few more personal touches.
11. Gibson Inn
Address: 51 Ave C, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
Wonderful as always. Their specials are just stupid. Been coming here for years and always come away so impressed!!
fabulous food! I had the shrimp grits
Great staff and drink selection.
Good food. Nice variety beyond the usual. Excellent service and an interesting space.
Nice setting. Attentive staff. Quite disappointed in my Red Snapper’s preparation; I prefer to taste the fish, not all the “coverings”.
Want great food, great service and a reasonable price? Well, all I can tell you is that you won’t find any of those things at Owl Cafe. We were so disappointed with this place. The food is bland and has no originality. Although not directly Owls fault, the Oyster brewery IPA I had with my meal was awful. Also, for mediocre service and the poor food they gouge you on the prices. I honestly felt robbed or violated when I left there. AVOID this excuse for a restaurant.
Update:. Wife and I are both suffering from some gastroenteral distress, shall we say, and it is definitely from eating here. We’ve had no other questionable food since this restaurant meal. Seriously, avoid this place like dysentery!
We did not have a good first experience. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but i want to be honest. Maybe it was the time of day (we came around 2pm), but still, we were not impressed based on the reviews we heard. Food was mediocre overall. Bread was cold and stale…other ppl said theirs was warm, ours was far from. Took forever to get our main courses and when they got to us, they were also cold. Got the vegan jambalaya and grouper special. Jambalaya had good flavor but quality was not $16. Grouper was mostly grits (which we were told were “cheesy grits” and they weren’t cheesy at all…tasted very bland and were cold and clumpy). Very small piece of grouper on top and small portion of tomato sauce for the large mound of grits. Not worth $30 (!!!!). The best part was out server who was kind and attentive (as much as she could be because she was slammed). Would give 1 star if it weren’t for our server.
How this restaurant has so many great reviews is a mystery to me. Went in excited from the high praise online but left completely disappointed. Ordered the crab dip as an appetizer, which weirdly tasted like a Mexican bean dip (no crab taste). The black grouper looked and tasted like a nursing home meal. Only giving a 2-star because I don’t have the heart to give a 1-star.
Listen to the other low reviews: WAYYYY overpriced, cold food, and completely bland. Sick from paying that much for a meal. Please save your money and time and try another place like the Gibson Inn!
13. Lou’s Bar + Eatery
Address: 76 Market St, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
In regards the above review, we witnessed the situation. The actions of the gentleman at the table were totally uncalled for and continued to call attention to himself by his actions and not because of the owner. Appeared as though she tried to make things right. Customer has his mind made up and nothing would have resolved the situation. The owners and our wonderful employees thank everyone who has made Lou’s a great place to gather.
This place is so good give it a try. I live in Florida and love this place.
Parking: Go here so good!
We had a gift card and got a Lou’s Big Board and a Tuna dip. WOW! Definitely fresh and delicious. High quality meat and cheese and fruit. We were so happy. And get a tuna dip! Also WOW!
Decent kinda place. Food was good except for the one server who wasn’t our server who was pretty rad. Keep rocking those corduroy skirts babe.
Food: excellent
Drinks: if I wanted margarita mix I’d stay at home and rub sandpaper on my tonsils.
We wanted to try this place & when we showed up there was nothing there, maybe location is wrong?
The restaurant came highly recommended by friends, so we decided to stop in for lunch on a Saturday. Admittedly, it was a weekend , so I expected it to be busy. But the wait for a salad and sandwich was very long. So long that our server apologized profusely no less than three or four times. When our food finally arrived, my chicken and shrimp salad duo was room temperature and mixed together into one salad. When I mentioned it to my server, she stated that it was good feedback for the kitchen and left it at that after the long wait. My husband enjoyed his BLT with a fried green tomato.
Went there on 10/21/23 and sat at the bar and couldn’t get waited on so we left then went back the next day and the lady behind the bar had the personality of a porcupine. Would not recommend this place. Use to be a nice place to go.
Very bad experience here. Waited almost a hour for a flatbread pizza. Owner had to put an alcoholic beverage down just to come over to our table. Instead of a sincere apology or any type of accountability, owner insisted we take the pizza after asking for check politely multiple times. No discount or anything was offered on check either. Friends of the owner sat at the bar staring (for at least 2 minutes straight) at the table, while gossiping and not to mention pointing. Not a good way to run a business, especially after allegedly being open for only 3 weeks.
14. Burger King
Address: 421 US-98, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
Very hard working group of people! Everyone was doing 3 jobs or more and Everyone was still polite, nice, and trying make customers happy. Very clean too
Stopped for breakfast. Very nice service.
Honestly one of the cleanest burger kings I have been to. Food was great.
Slow… and employees are more interested in their own conversation (very loudly) than service to customers.
If your not on a hurry then it should suit you just fine.
Whopper was good service was quick. Enjoyed!!!
There is a new manager who is trying hard to turn this place around service is much faster
Staff putting on a friendlier face
Temperature could use a little work but you should give them another shot
Was excited to see it finally reopen after Hurricane Michael, but it’s got a lot further to go. Always out of items.
Absolutely WORST men’s room I’ve EVER been in & I’m 67 years old!!!
Hole place needs good scrubbing
15. Tamara’s Café
Address: 71 Market St, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
Get the chips ! Homemade and to die for ! Friendly staff good food nice atmosphere too.
Fun atmosphere with good beer and food
People want true information. Some foods may taste good.
I ordered a red snapper sandwich and some food.
I like Red Snapper very much.
Of course, I go fishing every year and catch it myself.
It was the dryest and tasteless red snapper I’ve ever eaten. Maybe the Appalachicola Red snapper is a new fish.
I don’t like burgers very much, but I think it would be nice to have Burger King or Wendy nearby.
And lastly, I hope the employees wear masks. And I don’t think it’s six feet between the table and the table.
Staff was extremely friendly!!!
Food was fresh and well prepared, but the menu is limited.
A tad pricy but good food. Wait staff nice and attentive but needed more knowledge of menu items.
The atmosphere was good and so was the server but the food was just ok yet super expensive and was a gut bomb for my whole family. Do not recommend.
Food was served lukewarm and the service was disappointing. Most likely understaffed but it only takes a second to say sorry for the delay and thank you for coming.
Me and my wife got rib appetizers and crab cakes. The ribs were cold and the crab cakes were under cooked. No service no tip. Not ever going back.
16. The Station Raw Bar
Address: 53 Market St, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
Food was excellent as well as the service! Banana pudding was out of this world!
I love visiting quaint places like the station Raw Bar. The fact that it is located in Apalachicola is a plus, as I like the city in general. It is a beautiful place to visit, especially since it is by the beach. They have a thing called grouper fingers, and they are awesome! The tartar sauce what’s the exclamation point. It was truly delicious!
The osters were great, the deep fried oster and shrimp basket portion was small for the price.. I will go back get place.
Great little place for some oysters. Even though they didn’t have any local oysters, we had a dozen raw from VA instead and they were outstanding. The low country boil had a lot of shrimp and was well seasoned. They had a little salad bar and seemed to have lots of locals dining in. The bartenders knew them all and were very friendly. The hostesses were oddly quiet but our server was great. Would definitely go back.
Up to par I never had a bad experience
Food wasn’t that great. Had crab cakes and the cheese grits were watery and not that cheesy. We also waited over 20 minutes before greeted after being seated.
Drove a bit to get there and they were out of oysters! It was offseason too!
It was a hour wait for some horrible shrimp that was rubbery the calamari was over cooked definitely not a place that should be near the Bay.
17. Oyster City Brewing Company Apalachicola
Address: 17 Ave D, Apalachicola, FL 32320 , Apalachicola , Florida , United States
Great people and great beer. The beer and growlers are well priced and even though they are always busy the service is so quick. Everyone is super nice too.
Very cool place to hang out and enjoy a cold one. I highly suggest the Dirty Blonde, but they have several award winning flavors. Love OCBC.
Small place with good beer selection. 4 stars because they didn’t have any sours for my girlfriend.
Local brewery in Apalachicola, Florida (OCBC for short). Usually 6 selections on tap. Most popular is the Brown ale and the Dirty blonde. My favorite is First Light of Day, but not always available. The offerings are always interesting, middle of the road (not too hoppy, not too high in alcohol content) and very drinkable. They also do seasonal brews. No food served (they’re near many restaurants), and cash only. Seating inside or out.
Good beer. It is cash only though
If your parent company goes through with closing the Catawba Brewing Company in Morganton, NC, the company you recently purchased so you could market their White Zombie beer, then you deserve a one star rating. The brewery and it’s tasting room have provides services to the community for many years, supporting local musicians by providing live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night. You have given layoff notices to employees who have worked there for years and are destroying a major source of nightlife in our small town. Shame on you.
Guy over charged and didn’t apologize just a bad attitude and buddy asked him for a mixed six pack and he said get yourself.
I agree with the other reviewer, the beer tender needs a major attitude adjustment. Tall dude with the beard needs to be more friendly. Is it really that painful to say hi or thank you to the patrons? He had no problem being chatty with his buddy at the bar or people he knew that came in. Get over yourself man, you pull a beer lever. Life’s not that hard.

Such a fun experience. Local produce and art work. Great people watching. Come and get some fresh veggies and the enjoy breakfast / lunch in Apalach!
Friendly people, fresh food, wonderful art and live music
Nice little farmers market on the Apalachicola marina. When we went there was art, vegetables, fresh made baked goods and coffee for sale.
Nice place to stop.make sure you walk the dock line while your there.
I found a great small cutting board for a reasonable price.
Not much to this. Very few foods vendors out vendors of interest.
Arrived at 11am, Feb 15, 2020: nothing going on/ no one there, waste of time driving to it

Great show today. A true retrospective of the 3 decades of folk music (50s,60s and 70s). Ken Sidemore show not only his talent but also his love for the genre. Their other performers this season brought the talents to highlight different musical genres. Small intimate venue, very reasonably priced and a great way to spend 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon.
