Very good food and friendly staff made this an excellent stop on our way up the road. Will return to this restaurant for sure.
Great place for breakfast
Local coffee restaurant. Service a little slow but very minimal employees during holiday. The owner wears many hats (barista, cook, cashier, bartender, and yes contractor). Always support the small businesses in a small town! Very friendly and a cozy place to enjoy a cup of “joe”.
Don’t use the online app designed through clover. It gives you more headache then anything else. Coffee was the best thing about this place, the food (breakfast) were items you can find at costco…heat and serve. The pancakes were nice and big, and the chicken fried steak was good
Nice place to sit on
If you want a sub par meal with terrible service and lukewarm food and coffee, by all means, go here. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger with garlic fries and a large almond milk latte. The latte was cold, the burger was terrible, the fries were cold and tasteless (they had no garlic) and the food came late. I asked where the food was and the girl said she’d check and came back to the counter with it and said it was just now finished. That was a lie since everything was cold. When you place an order, they coerce a tip, even though they don’t serve or wait on you in any way. (They give you a buzzer after you’ve paid to come to the counter and get your food.) Worse still, they want a tip but have signs posted all over the restaurant asking you to bus your own table. When I complained to the girl behind the counter, her only response was “Okay”. I told her, “No, it is not okay!” If I could choose to give them zero stars in every category I would. Don’t waste your hard-earned money!
Just not great. No “hello” just took our order when it was our turn. No “thank you” for coming in, especially since competition is fierce in any service industry. No “come back and see us again!” And the coffee, less than mediocre for the 40 minute wait.
The young woman behind the counter with the fake eyelashes always looks miserable and doesn’t exactly make you feel welcome. Never say’s thank you and treats you as if she could care less about you or your business. Going to the newish place in Avery from now on. They are super friendly and I’ll drive extra just to give them my business, because well at least the act like i’m welcome.

6. Peddlers Market
Address: 1260 Oak Cir, Arnold, CA 95223 , Arnold , California , United States
Not a very large store but what they have is upscale and unique. Well worth the time to check it out. Owners are real nice people. I walked away with some very nice products at reasonable prices.
Excellent vintage and antique finds that are priced just right. Well kept shop with a welcoming and friendly proprietor. Will be back again to see what new treasures are up for sale!
Such a fun little shop filled with interesting antiques! The owners are really friendly and helpful. We bought a new house in Arnold a couple months ago and needed something big to hang on a large bedroom wall. The owner pulled out a couple of old doors they had stored in the back. We bought one and sanded it down to reveal different layers of paint and hung it as an art piece. Love it!
Lots of stuff, friendly staff, prices on high side.
7. Arnold Barber Shop
Address: 1771 CA-4, Arnold, CA 95223 , Arnold , California , United States
Best haircut I ever had. Chris took care of me from the moment I walked in. He greets you and directs you to the wide selection of magazines. When ready, he tells you to get your butt in the electric chair. All in all, from the time I enter to the moment I left, he went above and beyond. Definitely coming back! Thanks Chris!
Great cut, super nice barber.
Ruined my sons hair
Worst haircut I’ve ever had and being that I am 74, I’ve had a lot of haircuts.
Seldom open as indicated on his business sign. Doesn’t answer the phone and his voice mail box is full so you can’t leave a message.
Update: I tried to get a hair cut 4 times this past week over a two day time
period. Not open, no notes, didn’t answer the phone. Goodbye Chris.

Great big burgers, tasty sweet potato fries, and excellent service!!
Burgers are the bomb. Shakes are very good as are the chocolate double dips vanilla. Smooth
Great burger! You need to check it out!
It was a good burger, not great but good. Fries and shake were good. Service was quick. Not overly priced.
Good, but a little slow.
Its always good
Was just alright
We walked in obeyed all the Covid restrictions. Waited for the 2 customers in front to finish and then stepped up to the counter where we stood for 15 minutes and there was a woman on the register asking another worker what time she came in and fiddling with the register. Meanwhile, we are standing a foot away and she never even looked up to say, I’ll be right with you. We just left! We stopped there to support a Small business , they should at least give you a litttle customer service. We stop there every time we go to the mountains for many years, but not anymore
Absolutely horrible experience! They screwed up my order and it took forever. When my number was called, we got the giant western burger, but my shake and ice cream were missing. The burger was cold and the pepper jack cheese was missing. I saw the crew eating in the back, instead of filling orders. I asked for my money back and the crew acted like I was the problem. Very disappointed!!!!!
13. High Sierra Framing + Gallery
Address: 925 CA-4 Ste B2, Arnold, CA 95223 , Arnold , California , United States
The Sierra’s best kept secret. This is a great little frame shop, no job too small or too big. Preservation framing is their specialty as well as shadow boxes and much more. Alex and Sonja are very talented ladies who own this shop. This is also a great place also for hand lettered sign’s “Alex is the Bomb”, on signage. Alex’s work is just absolutely perfect, she can design any logo or signage you need. You can’t go wrong coming here for your framing and signage needs. They also shoot passport photo’s.
Sonia and Alex matted, framed, scanned five large, odd sized old pictures for me. They turned out spectacular and better than I had hoped. My husband was happy with his birthday gift. Love the attention to detail.
14. Snowshoe Brewing Company
Address: 2050 CA-4, Arnold, CA 95223 , Arnold , California , United States
We visited Snowshoe Brewing for Dinner on Black Friday. Despite the holiday, there were only 4 other groups there, and we were seated immediately.
COVID precautions: There was hand sanitizer available at the entrance, masks worn by employees at all times, and the restrooms were closed. Although the tables were easily 6+ ft apart, the attendant was courteous enough to make sure we were still spaced an empty table apart from the next party. Some of the staff made sure to keep their distance with patrons who had masks off while eating as they asked if anything else was needed. Everything was very clean.
My husband had a burger and fries and I had Goldpan Salmon with wild rice and broccoli. The Coffee Porter was excellent, but with the diverse selection on tap, a flight would’ve been a better choice.
Great tunes playing and TVs throughout the restaurant. They had growlers available for purchase along with a complete selection of 4 packs of their craft beers available for purchase to take home.
Great staff and excellent service. We’ll definitely visit again next time we’re in town.
Good food, great beers. Wish they were in So. Cal.
Menu has a wide variety of choices… burgers, sandwiches, salads, pasta, steak, fish & chips, and even a few Mexican dishes.
Cute little joint, nice people and servers. The beer was good and there was also an ok selection for wine drinkers which is always unexpected but a welcomed surprise. Food is also ok nothing crazy good but itll do while you relax while drinking and enjoying the view of their outside patio.
Not many options in the area. They try but seemingly get overrun/overwhelmed.
Overpriced kids meals. Super slow service. Food was soggy and cold. Latest visit will be last!
Second time to visit, last experience was much different. Stopped for burgers and beer and should have kept driving. Service was mediocre and food was disappointing. $18 for a burger and fries,…fries should be hot and burger should be delicious, juicy and still hot. Even the iced tea was murky, yuck. Ambience felt more like a closed bar with a few table and chairs assembled for some drop in guests. Overall experience I understand that Covid hae made it difficult to run a business but if your taking money from customers I believe that more of an effort should be made to keep your customers.
Food not as good as it used to be, limited menu.
The garlic fries are just fries sprinkled with garlic salt, used to be better.
15. Arnold David N DDS
Address: 1250 Oak Ct, Arnold, CA 95223 , Arnold , California , United States
Always very pleasant! Dr. Arnold & staff are too notch.
Very friendly and competent staff!
Always Professional and Friendly.
Cai did a great job.
This is not a complaint. I know I have a plac issued behind my lower teeth and it takes some elbow grease to get it. Brook was a little tentative, maybe because she is new or just doesn’t know me. I’ll have a better evaluation in 6 months after my next cleaning.
16. Needle In Motion
Address: 2704 CA-4, Arnold, CA 95223 , Arnold , California , United States
The owner, she is so personable and talented. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for embroidery work, alterations, beautiful yarns or gifts.
17. Murphys Music Co
Address: 88 CA-4, Murphys, CA 95247 , Arnold , California , United States
One of the biggest selections of Ukuleles I’ve seen. Great little shop with a nice selection of new and used guitars, basses, music books, picks, strings, and more!
Church of Ukulele!
An awesome local music store! They cleaned up and re-strung my guitar and it looks great! Amazing ukelele selection and some very cool guitars and amps.
I had two of my kids taking lessons there. The first one quit within a month because the owners wouldn’t listen about my kid’s disinterest in singing marry had a little lamb.
The other kid stuck with it for another month and was told by the owners to just quit playing guitar because they weren’t picking it up quick enough after 1.5 months.
I went in to confront them and was told that the two months was up (to avoid paying a refund for the two weeks we had left) and that they never told my kid to quit. After some prodding they admitted that they said to practice more or quit.
Regardless of what was actually said, these people are out of touch, arrogant, and all around bad teachers.
Not a good experience. The owner seemed pretty full of himself
