The staff here have been beyond helpful. They were very reasonable with a trade-in that I brought and have been insightful with small-time purchases like picks and strings. Have tried out several instruments, effects, and amps here. They have a great variety for sale and I’ll come here first when I need a big-ticket item. Best shop in town.
Great music shoppe with a great and large selection of guitars!!!
Slightly expensive, but very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Going to get my guitar that i bought used there to get it fixed i assumed they would have fixed any imperfections before they put it on a shelf for purchase
I hate doing this because I want to like music stores but if service is gonna be like this, everyone myswell DIY at home and heed this warning. I’ve had a few guitars setup there which is what I’m always needing done, new guitars etc, well I happen to be changing the strings on my Chapman that I had setup there and the low E saddle of the Floyd Rose came loose and the saddle screw fell out and that’s strange as you tighten them down. Well here’s what I discovered. Either dude lost the original saddle screw or he broke it somehow, but sitting in place of the original saddle screw is a too small saddle screw from a different bridge! It had been set in there and the string was tightened until it held the saddle in place! Like magic no screwing required! This guaranteed that as soon as the string tension came loose the saddle and screw would come loose every time NOT like it’s supposed to. Soooo sad service especially since luckily here at home I have many of those saddle screws laying around. It would have been better service to call me/order the correct part than to wait for me to get home figure out that I have the wrong part and have to deal with it myself. Smh.
Ignored from the time I walked into the store until I left.Walked a circle throughout looking for help only to find employees chatting it up. Both looked up at me and quickly turned away and continued talking to each other. Will never get my business.
I’ve been to a lot of music stores, and let me tell ya, avoid the this at all costs. Prices are High, equipment is below average, and the customer service is a joke. If you don’t mind paying top prices for sub standard gear and having to staff look down at you like you owe them something well this is the place for you . Two thumbs down
This place is great, I always get good service in a friendly atmosphere. Just wish they would be open on Sundays like I need guitar strings right now lol No biggy

I rent a speaker set from here for an event. Price is reasonable and the speaker works very well!
Dave from Music Makers was very helpful.
Super nice store and very helpful always
Been going literly for 20 years. Decent service. Nice ppl. Definetly has everything a musician would need.
Knowledgeable staff and everything you need.
Got a “better than” feeling in there. Short, unhelpful answers for my 14 year old grandson.
These guys are crooks. Everything they sell is overpriced, and their services are terrible. I went in to install a new bridge pickup for my electric guitar, and they quoted an unreasonable price for the job. Since I was already there I figured whatever, go ahead. They estimated the job would take about 24 hours to complete. Little did I know “24 hours” meant a month and a half to them. I’m not even kidding. Every time I went in to the store to check, they yelled at me and said “there’s a guy who comes in to do the work, but he’s been just swamped lately. He’ll get it done when he gets a chance”. So 1.5 months later I receive a call, and it’s finally done. I go to pick up my guitar, and plug it in to one of their amps to check out how it sounds. It sounded like something was damaged in the guitar. I told them that there was something seriously wrong here, but they said it’s probably their amp and I should go home and check it out. I went home, plugged it in and it was messed up. It literally sounded like metal springs grinding against each other. The strangest noise I’ve ever heard from a guitar.
When I took the guitar back to them, they were incredibly rude and told me it was not their problem and the pickup was broken. So I was out $130, and left with a broken guitar. I ended up having to spend another $200 to get the whole thing back to playing condition.
I learned my lesson, and have warned all my friends against this store.
Last five years I have purchased several guitars several by I’m talking around 10 I walked in to this music store a lady did not even ask me how they can help me all she said was what are you looking for looked around for awhile noticed that the pricing was a little bit outrageous. But the main thing was the woman that put the sour taste in my mouth by acting like it was a bother for us to even walk in the store. Oh well their loss my game I’ll continue purchasing equipment from American music supply Sweetwater. Won’t go back

Adam has a great music store. Lots of variety in guitars. He has a new product; cigar box guitars. He offers guitar care services, takes fair trade-ins for guitars he sells. He takes the time to talk with you about what your needs are in music instruments, in recording and more.
I love this place. Adam, Cordell, and Noel are great! I’ve bought several guitars from this place and will likely purchase more. Solid inventory, reasonable prices. Knowledegable staff. Generally just an enjoyable place as a whole.
I bought a bell set for my son. Adam was kind enough to show my son how you set it up and was very friendly.

Great prices and amazing people! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a guitar, bass or possibly a drum set!
Awesome
It good
Great little shop top notch ownership.
One of only two places that I know of in Effingham to purchase guitars and sound equipment. Even though the shop is small, they have a lot of quality guitars at reasonable prices. I was also impressed with the ukulele selection, an instrument that is becoming more and more popular. They also have some sound equipment and sound accessories at decent prices for performing musicians. If you are in need of anything for your guitar, this place is worth a visit.
Have bought accessories and have had tech/set up work done here. Owner’s always been nice, and even cuts ya the occasional break on the price. Definitely recommend.
Have been coming here for five years and spent thousands of dollars in this store. The owner has never acted like he recognized me or knew my name. Today in the store he falsely accused me of scratching a guitar in the shop, and told me I was lucky he “didn’t shake me down for money.” The guitars in the shop are high quality, but I am never bringing my business back here.
9. Midlothian Music
Address: 15645 S 94th Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462 , Atlanta , Illinois , United States
John spent a lot of time with me so I could pick out the best guitar for me at the right price point. I was very impressed with their service.
This outfit TRULY cares about their customers. They have incredible communication, ship very fast, their prices are very competitive. They respond to questions within minutes and answer directly and expediently. I had an issue with the guitar I bought (not an issue they could control) and they worked their butts off to make things right and get a replacement out to me. They made a stressful situation as painless as possible. I can’t recommend Midlothian Music enough!
I came to this store for to have my violin restrung, and Tim, one of the team members there, was super kind and very helpful in his recommendations. I commend Tim for going further in his excellent customer service, as he took some time to help me fix my violin case as well. The store’s atmosphere is very friendly and the staff have a wealth of knowledge for instruments. Thanks, Tim!
I love all the products but at times the service was bad, other visits there were good service. Thanks!
Stopped in to inquire about purchasing a used guitar and was treated rudely. I won’t be returning.
I wasn’t going to post these details but since they replied with incorrect information, perhaps confusing me with another customer.
When I responded that I wanted to spend $100 (not $75) the person behind the counter told me I needed to go to Toys R Us, did not offer me options or ask me any questions. THAT is why I walked out. I gave my $200 to Evolution Music. Their customer service is outstanding.
Music store with strict rules, can’t play anything without 10 min max rule, and I couldn’t even play through an amp they had on the floor. The associate plug me into some floor monitor to hear what the guitar sounded like. Felt uncomfortable in the store the entire time. Not sure who this store is designed for but surely not me.
The owner was outraged when i returned a crappy guitar I bought. He even started yelling when i did not purchase a different one….

Really nice people, family owned and operated.
