Fiddlin’ Red’s is a great place to find an honest deal and great service. I went in to see if I should have work done on a violin, long story short, I walked out with a new violin for the same cost and he played a live concert 😉 my kids still talk about it every time we go by. Thanks Red!
Good ‘ol fashioned service! I broke my son’s guitar string and was in a hurry to have it fixed. Red took care of it immediately and didn’t even charge me. Shop is full of wonderful guitars! Friendly place. Will definitely be going back for any guitar needs. Thanks again, Red.
Red is an amazing musician. He writes music and teaches He is very patient and observant. He sees and helps you solve any problems or difficulties right away so you can make music without a lot of the normal frustrations Don’t hesitate or doubt yourself.
With Reds help and encouragement you can do it!
Great drum- / percussion-focused shop in Sandpoint. I’ve found everything I need here, from shells and heads to thrones, stands, sticks, snare wires, etc.
Also taking lessons with Chris. I feel like I’m learning drums the *right* way, methodically and comprehensively. He’s thoughtfully adapted my lessons around my goals. I’m having more fun and playing more confidently – in a shorter amount of time – than I expected.
5. Bonner’s Books
Address: 7195 Main St, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
I was surprised to find a quality book store in Bonners Ferry.
Walked in the door and was greeted by a delightful plant wall! The store is a wonderland and I found so many great and hard to find books. The owner was very helpful and offered to search for a primer book that I am looking for. And last but not least, the store kitty is a sweetie and he looks like my Cinder Fur. I just love this place. Worth the hour drive from Spirit Lake.
This place is really a gem. Didn’t expect to find such a clean, quiet, quality bookstore here. Really liked the plants too. Has a good selection. The pet cat is fun too.
Great selection and we’ll organized
Good old fashioned small town used book store. A dying breed to be sure.
6. Selkirk Northern Treasures
Address: 7202 Main St, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
Fun place to go to find that perfect gift that you might not find anywhere else..
Great shop! I drove a few hrs to check it out. Great service, very friendly and would recommend as a place to stop and find some treasure
Just a treasure box of goodies. Loved and the shop owner not only beautiful but sweetest ever. Very much worth a stop.
Some amazing stuff here.
Seemed I little spendy.
A quaint and interesting little place! It has all sorts of old stuff. I personally didn’t find anything of use but it was a fun experience walking around and looking at all the stuff. A must see if you go to Bonners Ferry.
So many damaged and dirty stuff for too much money. Overpriced
7. this old trunk
Address: 7219 Main St, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
Heather and Bryan were patient, helpful, friendly, accommodating, reasonable, and absolutely praise-worthy. I needed furniture for a tea party, picked up some new teacups while I was at it, and was able to do all of this from two hours away with arrangements for after hours meet-up delivery. You can’t get service like this from just anyone. I am so grateful I got to have this experience with This Old Trunk. Thank you!
Limited selection.
8. 3 Mile Antique Mall
Address: 64376 US-2, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
Nice clean place, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Something for everyone.
Reasonable prices. Pleasant staff
Good place to go for house hold stuff and other items you might need
Tiny little hole in the wall place; looks cluttered and unorganized BUT good prices… great cause… and I found exactly what I was looking for. If I lived in the area I would go again.
They have cats and other stuff that thrift stores have. Half animal pound half thrift store.
11. Healing Frequencies Music
Address: 610 E Ockert St S, Oldtown, ID 83822 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
I went here for the firat time to re-string my guitars and was very happy with their work. They were fast and very personable.
Super friendly, and they have great deals on guitars.
I got a great new guitar and amp for a great deal, and the owner is extremely nice and very welcoming. Definitely going back. Great place to go for strings, pedals, amps, guitars, in general all guitar needs.
Needed strings. Good selection. Manager willing to help find anything you may need.
This is the soul of music place…
Good deals decent service.
I made the drive out here from spokane based on reviews I thought it would be worth it to check it out. I got there at 3:44 and it was closed. I understand it’s in a sort of secret place but if you’re gonna close early you should maybe close around half an hour early rather than nearly an hour and a half early.
I am on tour with my band, and I am in dire need of some new sticks. We call the store around 5:30 pm to ask them when they close. They close at 6pm and we tell them we are on our way right then. Get there at 5:45 pm and they are closed. I mean, no one there, they counted out, gone. I know many musicians who tour around the area often and I have told them to NOT go to this store. Go to Burts.
It’s really too bad these geniuses have the most ridiculous hours of operation. Tried to explain to their feeble minds that people that can afford to spend money on musical instruments are WORKING for a living. Nobody is going to take time off of work to go shop at this place. Open at a decent hour and I’ll shop there. In the last 4 1/2 years, I’ve spent approx. $5,000.00 ELSEWHERE as a direct result of their terrible hours. This I must say is regrettable as I would much prefer to keep the money here in Post Falls. Note: I’ve heard these jokers complaining that sales are very poor at that store. No wonder.
13. Burt’s Music & Sound
Address: 1123 Sherman Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
Bert’s reminds me of a “ole”school music store. Honesty , Integrity are just a few words that come to mind. They are always very helpful and very friendly. They love to talk music…Awesome Selection.
Great service love these guys
Great store! Repaired my daughter’s violin on the spot for a more than fair price.
I will also point out that the negative review from Greg Lapin is the exact same review he has cut and pasted on about 70 other local businesses. Apparently Mr. Lapin is your typical loser SJW liberal type that’s offended if he doesn’t see a minority employed at an establishment.
Small, privately owned type stores like this are the REAL minority nowadays.
The music store to go to!
Low on inventory
bought nice drum for great price. thanks 🙂
They fix guitars but your screwd if you got a Floyd rose. Other than that good store good people.
I have been a loyal customer and supporter of this local business for years. However my experience there for the past several years has been less than satisfactory. I have been made to feel as if I were a nuecense there by one of the shop owners I believe.
Unless this man is just a disgruntled employee which is the vibe that he puts out each and every time I have been there during the past several years.
I have never gone there only to browse and play instruments. I only go there to purchase musical items and support local business as I strongly believe in doing so being a small business owner myself.
This man puts out a vibe so foul and offensive that I vowed not to patronize this place ever again solely because of this.
This man acts as if he’s been awakened by a door to door solicitor at his home each and every time I have shopped there.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I will probably make this complaint known elsewhere so that the local public can be aware.
If one is either a proprietor or an employee at any establishment where intimate customer service is the foremost priority and that individual is vicious and repulsive with an obvious disgust for customers than they need not pursue that career any longer.
I have shared my honest feelings about this. THANK you for the platform
Two people there. One was great and full of advice the other made us feel like we had no business being there because we weren’t master musicians. I will take my business and money elsewhere.
14. NW Music
Address: 6055 N Sunshine St, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
Goodness this place is AMAZING!!
The Gentlemen are so amazing and helpful there. Tune, fix, sell instruments. Prices are very reasonable. For sure will be returning in the future for all our music interests. If I could rate the place higher then 5 stars I would rate them 100%.
Always impressed with the customer service at this store! We rushed in this afternoon to get some repairs done so our kids could continue to practice while school is closed. Even though it must have been a hectic day for them (they just found out they’d have to close, too), they were able to take care of us on the spot and get our kids’ instruments fixed. We really appreciated it!
great staff here. They allways treat me and everyone. Great. Guitar center needs some lessons from these guys IMO I come in check out gear and always have the very best experience here. Plan on buying some gear from them soon. Thanks for your great additude and service I will always come to your store for strings picks amps and. If they don’t have it they can prob still hook you up. With a great deal.
Very helpful in finding items for your instruments. The instruction is top drawer.
4 stars because they do have a great selection, prices are fair, and the store is very clean and organized. The staff at first seemed helpful but then seemed impatient, as I was asked if I was ready to check out while I was still looking at guitars with an item in my hand. Caught me off guard as I felt rushed after only being in the store a couple minutes and wasn’t near the register. Other than that, they have a great selection of beautiful guitars and quality gear.
When I went there I wanted a nice sax. So they pulled out a Vito no name sax. Then the yamaha sax was $300 cheaper than the no name. Their staff was really weird too. Don’t spend your money on this company, just go to Discount music supply
guys who follow you around like desperate used car salesman…over priced equipment etc..
I came in a week ago to look around before I bought anything the people were nice and friendly and when I came back today I was ignored and treated like I didn’t exist so instead of buying a electric guitar and bundle you guys get this review and to the 4-5 people working there at the time it’s beyond rude to ignore someone then try to say something as there are leaving I felt discriminated against this was a first.
Edit
What a joke he didn’t say anything don’t try lying and make it seem like a misunderstanding. I wasn’t alone, so instead of lying and blaming me, look at your employees and try to figure out why they didn’t greet me or ask if I needed help.
15. Community Thrift Center
Address: 6778 Main St, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805 , Boundary County , Idaho , United States
Love this store, I always find what I am looking for and always in good condition
Always seem to find what I’m looking for. They’re always very friendly when shopping or making donations.
Excellent place to shop~lots of items
Best thrift store in town, but they really raised their prices.
Just a normal thrift store
The thrift store itself is a place where you can find good deals but at times things are overpriced mostly since they got it for free. The owner/manager guy can be a pain. His customer service skills are lacking as I witnessed him lecturing someone donating items on item placement. This could be a five star thrift shop if manager was friendly and flexible.
Do not attempt to look at anything outside yet to be priced. My husbandand I were looking at an original Nintendo and marveling at it’s mere existence, when my husband picked up the box to get a better look an older gentleman in a small white pickup came screeching to a stop behind our vehicle, raced around to us and began very adamantly screaming at us that we needed to put that down, that he knew we were taking it to put it in our car , and he knew we were stealing and he was calling the police! We were mortified! We have not been back!
Thrift store with prices comparable to a high-end Sporting Goods store
Really expensive and the employees aren’t the nicest

The instructors are talented and kind, and they really nurture the progress of all their students. They’ve created an open and engaging community with quality education. Overall, it is an amazing place filled with amazing people.
Amazing child focused program that allows our youth in rural North Idaho the opportunity to experience the arts. Keely Gray and Maistro John Fitzgerald deserve extra accolades for their work and positivity.
Beautiful and welcoming place. So thankful that this exists in our community. The toddler music time is a highlight of our week! You can hear music and joy coming out the windows. Thank you

So nice to have authentic food, made fresh on the spot with non-Sysco ingredients, while living up here away from the world. I look forward to trying other menu items in the future.
What a great restaurant! To find Salvadoran Pupusas in the Northwest is a true treat. We live an hour away, but it was worth the drive for pupusas and tamales. The owners really made the visit special as well. Can’t wait to come back!
I’m vegan so the chef made off-menu spinach and bean pupusas and they were fantastic. The toppings were fresh, the fruit smoothie was great, just fruit, and the fried plantains a very tasty side. The decor is really fun with lots of photos of the owners and various guests.
Great little change in pace in a sleepy small town. Staff was nice and friendly. Food was worth the price and a favorite of mine.
The cost for what you get in both size and quality is not worth it. This was several months ago
