Amazing service great quaility repairs and overall an amazing shop.
I’m not from Denver but these folks treated me as if I was! The repairs to my alto sax were professional and the advice I received was fantastic. I highly recommended this store to all levels of musicians- even those on the road – like myself 😉
I was originally disappointed in sub-par work, but I’m pleased with the final outcome. The tech who made the mistakes no longer works there and the owner made things right in a jiffy. I give the business proper credit and thanks for that.
I paid for repairs to two trombones including a slide job—tricky work on my antique King Liberty 2B. Pandemic issues prevented me from testing at pick-up, but the tech showed me the results at the counter. Cosmetic dent repairs weren’t as good as I’d hoped, but I let that go. The slide dragged hard and remained very noisy, but the tech assured me it was perfect and only appeared suspicious because he’d just stripped it clean. “It’s perfect; I promise.” It was an hour before closing on the eve of a long holiday and my family was waiting in the car, so I accepted the excuse, took the horns, and left.
When I broke out that horn months later, it was unplayable. The slide was still totally dented, the new end stops pushed out the slide so far that the lock had to be loosened to the verge of falling off to hold it shut, and the extra length made it play flat with the tuning slide fully closed.
I discovered this late Friday night before a Saturday gig where I’d planned to use it, and I left a 1-star review lamenting that I’d trusted that tech and neglected to test it sooner, and that I was sunk since they’d just closed for the weekend.
To my shock, the owner called me first thing Saturday morning and offered to make it right. He fixed it and returned it to me in time for the gig that afternoon.
I wrote that I’d update the review if they made it right. They did, I did, and I think we’re all happy now.
I will definitely give them my business again—especially since the tech who made the mistakes is no longer on the payroll.
Michael did a great tune up on our sax and got it done in record time. Thanks so much! Love supporting local small business.
It took a while and it’s pretty expensive, but they did a great job fixing up my horn, definitely worth it.
Terrible establishment. Extremely unfriendly, unknowledgeable staff and very over-priced.
4. Monkton Guitars
Address: 1505 W 1st Ave A, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Broomfield County , Colorado , United States
Just got my thinline telecaster back from service from Monkton and I couldn’t be more impressed by the tone coming out of this instrument, which I thought I knew so well previously, only to just now be discovering it’s potential. Perfect intonation, beautiful tone, and playability I wouldn’t have thought possible. Do yourself a favor and bring in your guitar for a service here, even if you don’t think it needs one. It does. And these are the folks to do it.
The tuning peg on my base broke the day before a concert. It was fixed in minutes. I will defiantly come here again in the future.
TL;DR – This place rules, come here instead of some big box guitar store.
Came into the store this weekend hoping to find a new amp, I’d been thinking I wanted a Fender Twin Reverb but wasn’t quite sure if that was really what I was after. The owner Dave helped me out, had me play through a handful of other amps before setting me up with both the Twins they had in stock. Being able to play the ’70 twin back to back with a 90’s ’65 reissue was perfect to get a feel for the difference between different models of the same amp. Dave was super friendly, knowledgable and helpful, the store had great inventory, and ultimately I walked out with the 1970 Twin (best sounding amp I’ve ever played). This is my first tube amp (and a vintage one at that) but I feel great knowing I can give them a call if I have issues or need maintenance in the future and they’ll point me in the right direction. I’ll 100% be coming back here for future purchases and would encourage anyone reading this to support a great small business and shop here.
great place to try and buy, they know their stuff and are super nice and willing to help you find what you’re looking for. they have great recommendations and will let you play whatever for however long. very cheap for repairs and guitar work, much cheaper than other places. got my frets leveled/crowned and it sounds fantastic, however they did kind of gauge/scratch the neck on several frets. sucks, but not a huge deal as it’s not a high end guitar and the price was right ($60). again, sounds great but i would be weary of bringing a higher end model in as they weren’t very careful about taping off the neck to avoid cosmetic damage.
Best shop around!
do not take your guitars here for repair! simple jobs will end up being 2 hours in labor charges. they will take your working guitar and send you home with a non-working guitar. they will mix up the wiring on the pots. they will give you pots too large so your knobs have a huge gap underneath. unbelievably unprofessional and incapable.
EDIT: The business response is not a fair respresentation. First guitar, volume pots wired backwards. Second guitar, repair only lasted the car ride home. Second fix only lasted the next car ride home. Third fix, incorrect tone mapping and too large of pots. Every single trip a problem. Why would I go back?

6. KenRob Musical Enterprises

Absolutely awesome service: professional, communicative, prompt, kind, …. The best synth gear repair service ever.
They fixed my gear and provided excellent customer service!!!!
They replaced my the motherboard of my Korg Kronos, excellent service and friendly staff. Highly recommend them, very thorough in communication and updates on the repair process, and fair prices.
Our company has recently had an absolutely terrible experience with Craig at Music Gear MD.
I would highly recommend against using their company for repairs. They ordered the wrong parts initially, delayed the repair, installed the parts so poorly our client complained, forgot to return the unit’s power supply, and had absolutely no resolve to make things right with us. When when we tried to discuss it with them, they became unprofessionally defensive, abrasive, and unreasonable.
This is all after they had promised to help and not following through—clearly deceptive and misleading business practices and not caring about their clientele or reputation.
If we weren’t burned so badly, and hadn’t been insulted by them and their unprofessionalism, I wouldn’t leave this review. We’re not beyond making amends, but they have not made any effort to do so.
9. Wildwood Guitars
Address: 500 S Arthur Ave STE 700, Louisville, CO 80027 , Broomfield County , Colorado , United States
Absolutely love my Taylor mini GS – in Koa. It has such a beautiful sound.
Guitar heaven! Freindly & helpful staff. Plethora of nice amps. I want to work there, and I’m not even a good guitarist.
Fantastic buying experience. These people are so attentive and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend them if you are looking at quality instruments at a fair price. They go way above and beyond for the customer
I love WW GUITARS and have bought over 25 guitars from them. Almost every guitar I’ve purchased over 20+ yrs (ranging from Taylor t5, Martin D18 to Gibson ES 335) has been exquisite. And the ones that have not been so Stellar, WW has worked with me until I’m happy.
Since COVID however, the buying experience from them has faded considerably and I’m afraid that they have become another Sweetwater. I have tried to communicate with them and have supported them with strong appreciation and customer loyalty only to feel like just another customer. Customer service, tech service, appointment scheduling is now geared towards online sales and true customers that highly value the buying experience have been ignored. I have referred countless new customers to them and feel as though my staunch loyalty to this brand has gone unnoticed/ ignored.
Sadly, I have recently began to branch out and my last few purchases have not be with WW. I hope they continue to sell top notch instruments and am still hopeful that they can correct these issues and reach out too old school customers too.
I really love wildwood. Review would have been 5 stars but the covid restrictions won’t allow for entry Into the showroom so you you have to buy blindly. If there are issues the staff takes care of them promptly however.
They don’t do setups on your guitar yet they have a warehouse full of guitars? Great selection and very knowledgeable.
Wish my experience had gone something like these reviews. They should too as it could easily have resulted in a sale but, no, not the case.
I walked in and told the person that unenthusiastically greeted me I was looking at a Collings O2H in the $3000 range and wanted to see if they had something comparable. He said “We have over 2,000 guitars.” Uh, okay. I answered but anything similar like a 00 Martin for example? He led me to a computer screen and invited me to peruse their “over 2,000 guitar” inventory, find what I wanted and he’d bring it out then walked away. Zero guidance. Didn’t make it through the first page of Martins before walking out.
Before the day was over I returned to the store carrying the Collings, wrote a check for just under $3,000 and drove home.
I understand Wildwood changed owners so perhaps this is their new business model and, hey, it may work out for them but if I’m dropping three grand or more on a guitar I expect service which I found plenty of at the three other stores I visited.
Excellent store as far as selection however I would not expect any service after the sale. I purchased a Martin D-28 Custom Shop. Used a humidifier to the recommended specs and less than a month after purchasing the guitar the center if the guitar split down the center. I called Wildwood and they told me there was nothing they would do. Told me I had to contact a service center other than them. They did not offer to take the guitar back and or replace it. I was surprised by their lack of service in something over $4k. I would not use them again. I am not hard to please but the fact that they would do nothing was really poor service in my opinion.
Apparently they only want to do online business. Don’t bother going to the showroom. They won’t let you in….because why would you want to play the $3k instrument before you buy it?
I’m sure it’s a COVid thing, but even with COVid, every other shop in the US is still willing to do business.
I usually buy a new guitar around my bday every year and literally had $3k cash on me. I was going to look at a used SG Custom from craigslist, but was totally willing to spend that money at Wildwood if something impressed me.
I guess I will go somewhere else. Not my choice, but if they don’t want my money, then that’s hard to argue with.
I’m happy their online sales are good enough to close their showroom. Good for them…bad for customers:(
Still a great guitar shop, but how can you leave more than one star if they are literally turning away business?
10. Music Education Center
Address: US-287 &, Miramonte Blvd, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Broomfield County , Colorado , United States
My son loves taking lessons from Ms. Angie. She is very experienced and provides a balance between being patient and letting him learn at his own pace and pushing him to be better.
Love this place!!!
My sons have been taking various lessons through Music Education for over 12 years. We started with the piano when my older son was 5, then the younger also played. The older went on to guitar and the younger went on to drums and continues to take both drums and piano from Wilson and Angie. They are both so kind and patient and know how to make it fun and interesting at the beginning and keep it challenging as they progress. We will miss them as my younger son heads to college next year (Music Business major)!
I had the pleasure of learning piano for 15 years under Maria’s teachings and staff. This program has been a wonderful addition to my childhood onto early adulthood! I’ve learned so much from this center that I’ve catered outside of piano and music towards real world experiences. It was a wonderful opportunity I wish upon anyone to cherish.
My son started lessons with DaVinci at preschool just as he turned 4. He is now 14. I love how patient and caring Maria is and how she integrates brain development and guiding students on creating their own music as well as learning to sight read and play some very difficult pieces.
I took lessons here for many years. I loved the environment, and I really learned a lot. The instructors are super nice and enjoy teaching. There are also recitals every month and a festival once a year that we prepare for. It was enjoyable. I would recommend any child to take musical lessons here!

17. Sollohub School of Music
Address: 7000 W 120th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Broomfield County , Colorado , United States
Mike is an amazing guitarist and his teaching skills are stellar!
I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Sollohub School of Music for 4 years and the instruction is excellent. I have progressed a lot faster with the lessons than I could have trying to get the information and practice tips from a book or on-line. One of the parts I like is the interaction with other musicians which is a real benefit over playing at home by yourself. I would recommend the Sollohub School of Music to anyone who wants to learn to play the guitar.
Very talented teachers!
18. Globalsound Studio
Address: 555 Alter St #19f, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Broomfield County , Colorado , United States
My experience recording at Globalsound Studio was outstanding! The staff was extremely professional and efficient! I had a 2 hour session to record a song with vocals, and two guitars. My sound engineer was outstanding!! He worked very well with me and listened to how I wanted to record my song. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable!
We have been very pleased with Globalsound studio and their dedication to music over many years we’ve been part of the studio.
With the recent pandemic, they moved the students showcase outdoors and organised a great concert with social distancing measures. Thanks to Globalsound for their creativity and taking on the responsibility of keeping communities safe while providing a platform for students to showcase their talents.
What do we, as parents of a Globalsound student, LOVE about Globalsound Studio (in no particular order)?
1. Endless opportunities! Our daughter started out in private piano/keyboard lessons, enrolled in vocal lessons, has played solo showcases, joined the Academy of Rock bands and is now in an all-girl continuing band of 10 – 13 year olds who perform throughout the Denver-Metro area – just like a real rock band!
2. Personal development! Our daughter has developed so much more confidence in herself through lessons and performances. She’s learned to control her stress and overcome nervousness as she performs in front of hundreds of people.
3. Musical education! She’s learned to read music and to listen and play by ear! She’s learning the difference between her head voice and her chest voice. She’s learning to sing and play the piano/keyboard with emotion!
4. Professional music instructors! Her instructors understand her strengths and weaknesses; challenge her; insist she practices; and encourage her to step out of her comfort zone! All the instruction is tailored to her individual needs and musical preference and all styles of music are taught! Our daughter has performed everything from Beethoven to Katy Perry to AC/DC!
5. Community Involvement! Globalsound supports our school though a partnership with the PTO! They DJ dances, have the Academy of Rock Bands play at special events, and donate goods and services for fundraisers!
6. Family owned and operated! The owner, Lydia Fiore, and her two sons are incredible! Lydia has always been available to discuss our daughter’s wants and needs. She worked directly with us and the instructors to figure out what was best for our daughter to get the most out of her vocal/keys lessons!
7. Performance hall! I love that they have the large party hall, dance floor and stage. It’s a great area for the student showcases, parties and more.
8. Fun and Engaging Lessons! The lessons are fun and engaging and not the boring, old-school lessons I had! She is always excited to go to lessons and to return home to show us what she learned.
9. Real results! Our daughter has learned so much over the last few years we have had her enrolled at Globalsound. She’s set and achieved goals and has learned and grown as a musician!
I have not goes there yet but it sounds fun and there is a private room for birthdays
Whoever was driving the “Company Van” today needs to be fired.
