I love my home town dollar general my family and I have been coming here for five years now. awesome store
Haily is a very good employee. She’s super sweet and very nice!!
This is my go to place for just about anything I need.
Nice
Good
I waited 25 minutes in line to check out, then thay had to shutdown to reboot. Said it would be another 20 minutes. 1 lane opened. I don’t have to wait that long even at Walmart. Won’t go back. EVER. Done. Can’t get through the store because of stock. It’s the worst dollar general I’ve ever been to.
Assistant manager followed me around the store,,,like I was stealing or something
Lousy. Guy working cash register filthy painted finger nails discusstin need cleaner neat employees
4. Country Vibes Vendors and more
Address: 511 N Washington St, Bunker Hill, IL 62014 , Bunker Hill , Illinois , United States
They have a great selection of consignment booths inside the store and the vendor fair/farmers market on Saturdays. A perfect place to shop for unique gifts.
Large variety of household vintage collectibles and antiques
It was very nice. Mostly organized well. It was a nice visit.

Address: 144 N Main St, Edwardsville, IL 62025 , Bunker Hill , Illinois , United States
They repaired my guitar quick and at a great price, i am happy and will return
Mojo’s has been and continues to be my favorite music store. Great service, great people, and a great experience every time.
Thank you Mojo’s.. I finally have a good working guitar. Thank you for all the help..
Lots of inventory and they are willing to deal
Fun shop for sure! Eye candy hanging on all the surrounding walls. The shop’s main focus is guitars so it’s definitely the place to go if that’s your go to instrument. Workers are knowledgeable and always very helpful. It’s no breaking news that guitar shops tend to give off awkward, intimidating vibes (understandably so when you visit any shop with high pricetagged merch) and I do have to try and hide my feelings of squirminess while there, but I enjoy going and will continue to.
After years of taking time off from playing music, band break up really made me step away, I’ve decided to look around for a new guitar and rig, have gone to Mojo’s, have purchase three terrific instruments from them in the past 15 years, never had a bad experience, today, however, was not the same. I walked into a store deflated of its prior pulse, I was seen and ignored, walked around looking for what would be my next stage guitar. Two employees, yet no time to greet, or attempt to make a sale, to show products, I even made an attempt by asking what’s new, even then not a singular spark of interest in my affairs with them was of significance. I walked out of there for the last time, sad to see such a place become so cold and uninviting.
I went in to get my guitar repaired, the staff members sat at the counter and talked and ignored me for several minutes. Then after they finally looked at my guitar it turned out to be a very expensive repair so I decided to just buy a new guitar. One would think this would be cue to start selling a guitar, instead they ignored me some more and made me feel awkward for playing any guitar they had. So I went to swing city music right down the road and they instantly came to help and found a guitar that was right for me.

8. Capital City Music
Address: 3700 Wabash Ave, Springfield, IL 62711 , Bunker Hill , Illinois , United States
Decent selection of pianos and guitars, friendly and helpful staff.
My go-to music store. Good selection. Always helpful
Meh
Slightly expensive, but very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
The guest experience was alright, but after going in, and returning my item the staff took my return and assured me it was completed, I left and enjoyed the day, more than a week later and I have discovered the staff I talked to must have processed my return improperly since I have never received my refund on my bank statement and when I tried to call in to get the situation corrected I was told they could not find my transaction. Edit… The owner has personally reached out to me and has worked to correct the situation.
went to get my guitar set up and it came back out of tune, disappointed to say the least, reading other reviews it appears the staff might need more technical experience or organization
I’ve been to a lot of music stores, and let me tell ya, avoid the this at all costs. Prices are High, equipment is below average, and the customer service is a joke. If you don’t mind paying top prices for sub standard gear and having to staff look down at you like you owe them something well this is the place for you . Two thumbs down
Ignored from the time I walked into the store until I left.Walked a circle throughout looking for help only to find employees chatting it up. Both looked up at me and quickly turned away and continued talking to each other. Will never get my business.
9. BG’s Grub & Pub
Address: 110 E Warren St, Bunker Hill, IL 62014 , Bunker Hill , Illinois , United States
Love the chicken salad
The dinner salad
The cheesecake nachos
Will be back
Limited selection but the food is fantastic and how can you not love a place that will throw Twinkies at you!
Good food to eat
The service was good. Lunch menu not awesome as I had been told. Loved the onion rings and Brussels sprouts. Loaded potatoes were very plain not much flavor.
1st time there. The Cowboy burger was dry/tough, the Grilled Chicken sandwich was hard/dry. Instead of addressing the issue concern they block you from the site on Facebook.
The health dept was there today, sending picture to them and on Yelp. These people are just ugly. It’s funny an employee from there (not today). Asked me if I’d heard of this owner, I hadn’t. I have now, I’m wondering how the board of health didn’t see this happening during our waiting.
Never again and I’ve explained to multiple people what happened and how we’ve been treated. Will definitely not recommend at ALl!

Its a real shame the owner has to come back and bash a customer asthis owner has done.
This should tell everyone to avoid this place completely
Badfood, bad management, serious bad manners. it appeared to be veryhard for him to speak recently
I guess tsjust my faulet that I went to such a lousy place.
Again, keep going and dontmake the same mistake we did, stopping here
God bless this ugly man
Heard good thing so my wife and I went to try it out.
First off, it took about 10-15 minutes before we got any drinks at all. No water or anything. Waitress blamed it on a busy bartender, even though it wasn’t that busy in there, but OK no big deal. Limited menu meant the appetizer we wanted wasn’t on the list but thats understandable as well. I ordered a ceaser salad with my sandwich. The sandwich was great but the ceaser salad had diced raw onion in it. Never have I ever had raw onion in a ceaser salad. I attempted to eat it but couldn’t. My wife enjoyed her salad but not her jalepeno burger. The jalepenos were so deep fried she took one off and showed me, it broke in two pieces when trying to flex it. That just ruins the jalepenos when they are that done. Plus the cheese that was on the burger had been melted on a griddle it looked like until it had morphed into a frisbee. There was no taste to it minus grease. She hit it off the table and the whole cheese discus was rock hard.
I am usually not one to leave reviews or complain but this was above and beyond.
Very unprofessional people. Wouldn’t recommend ever. They don’t deserve to have a business, especially in a town they think so little of.
10. The Bluegrass Shack
Address: 904 Old Baldwin Rd, New Athens, IL 62264 , Bunker Hill , Illinois , United States
I bought my very first fiddle from the Bluegrass Shack online this week, and had it at my door less than two days later—probably the speediest shipping I’ve ever seen! I was really excited to start playing, and as a beginner I was especially grateful that Chris had gotten it perfectly set up for me before sending it out. Would HIGHLY recommend ordering an instrument from here, thanks for a great experience!
A great music store. Super friendly and talented staff to discuss instruments or accessories. Also offers music lessons.
Have not been to the store, but ordered two instruments through email. They shipped promptly after my order was placed and were carefully packed. Chris answered all my questions and offered helpful suggestions about my purchase. I had mentioned that we were beginners and Chris included a few pages of help tips!
Such a cool shop with great customer service
The store part is fantastic but when I took lessons, they gave me two lessons and then just stopped talking to me. They wouldn’t return my texts. I went in there and they told me they were full and took my name and number. It’s been a year later and still no availability. I will no longer do business with them.
11. Bunker Hill
Address: Illinois 62014 , Bunker Hill , Illinois , United States
Excellent customer service, Knowledgeable associate in answering my questions. Reasonably priced merchandise.
It was awesome , great service !
Great Place! Very friendly workers helped me find what I need, they even suggested the cheapest things to get.
Had everything we needed.
Very friendly and helpful. Nice to still have a brick and mortar music store in the area.
Really nice people, just very overpriced
They sold me a violin for 2,000 and when I had it appraised the specialist said they cost $100 for a set of three. I will never do business with them again and I urge anyone to go elsewhere
Impressive service! I bought a used piano that had not been inspected yet by a technician and it ended up having several issues after It was delivered. The Baldwin technician Henry Nicholidas completely overhauled the piano free of charge and it is in wonderful condition!
Really knowledgeable and friendly.
Great service and good pricing! Highly recommend!
The rep was nice but the selection for guitar items was very thin.
15. Chesnut Family Music

The staff is always friendly and helpful! We have 4 kiddos in band and we can find everything we need here or they can get it quickly! They are quick with repairs (if needed) hands down the best place for your music needs!
We have gotten 2 french horns, a clarinet, and just today an alto sax! They offer the top rated brands very affordably!
Always helpful! But go to the back of the building, they moved
Great family owned place
Bought mixer and the Employee went out of his way to find some used XLR Cable’s with 1/4 in male ends.
Helped us get what we needed
Really nice people, family owned and operated.
I brought a saxophone in to have cork replaced on the neck. The job was mediocre at best. I redid it myself
I like Jordon but hes always to busy to get to my stuff needs to hire help
16. Mike’s Music
Address: 816 E Main St A, Carbondale, IL 62901 , Bunker Hill , Illinois , United States
Very accommodating, and a Good selection of choices.
Took a newly acquired guitar in for set-up and stringing. The whole staff were very inviting and genuinely interested in helping me out. I was introduced to a guitar tech by the name of Dan. He and I had a conversation about how I wanted the guitar set up, during which he listened intently to my preferences and concerns. He even made recommendations based on what I told him. I followed his advice and have to say he was spot on. I can say that I have no regrets and I am absolutely delighted with how well my guitar plays. Thank you everyone at Mike’s!!!
Great service and very very knowledgeable.
Cute kitty and nice workers
Nice guy.
Pretty nice i like to stop in and look at the guitars. The employees are very helpfull.
