We had a family reunion there, it was a great set up. We set food up in one room, chatted in the bar area and the dining area fit us all very comfortably along w tables for displaying family photos etc….Plenty of room, and great atmosphere, will remember this for future events.
Place is done up super cute and a great place to have an event! So mad I didn’t know about their cookie decorating they do once a month lol

I am always amazed at how great my tubas sound after being worked on at Carl’s! I have gone to them for years and they have ALWAYS done outstanding work! I recently brought in a sousaphone from the 90s that was in an unplayable condition and I knew would need a lot of work to be restored to a playable condition! When I got it back today it played better than any sousaphone I’ve had in the past!
Professional, friendly and excellent service. My trumpet was serviced and returned within a few short days and looks like a brand new horn! They exceeded expectations and do excellent work. Highly reccomend!
Very nice and efficient. Will recommend to everyone!
Very knowledgeable very friendly. They treat us beginners with the same respect concert veterans
Super helpful and upfront with tactful explanation of options for the work needing done

The men here are always so amazingly nice! I just wish they had more violins!
Great store awesome guitars, staff was awesome all my questions were answered, bought a guitar and it was set up. One of the best music stores I’ve been in.
Been going here for you as for my music needs, love the place
Been going literly for 20 years. Decent service. Nice ppl. Definetly has everything a musician would need.
It’s ok. Nothing special in regard to service
Great
Last five years I have purchased several guitars several by I’m talking around 10 I walked in to this music store a lady did not even ask me how they can help me all she said was what are you looking for looked around for awhile noticed that the pricing was a little bit outrageous. But the main thing was the woman that put the sour taste in my mouth by acting like it was a bother for us to even walk in the store. Oh well their loss my game I’ll continue purchasing equipment from American music supply Sweetwater. Won’t go back
unfortunate, but i’d had a guitar in storage for a year and the fret board was a disaster.they did an excellent job cleaning that, however, they took it upon themselves to badly alter the guitar without asking us despite us being there and only explained what they’d done after it was too late. another thing about these “fixes” was that they didn’t address the problem at all! they said the action was too high the lower you got on the neck so they shaved the frets?? they also took some off the bridge, though only to the top, not where the strings rest in it. i’m a novice so i didn’t catch this in store, just paid for strings and cleaning and alterations for $40. value of guitar negatively impacted & i paid for it! nice and nice sounding 20yr old, semi acoustic fender. such a shame, and as i said before i was in store and they didn’t ask! i would get my strings changed there again, though stressing that nothing else be done without consulting me
These guys are crooks. Everything they sell is overpriced, and their services are terrible. I went in to install a new bridge pickup for my electric guitar, and they quoted an unreasonable price for the job. Since I was already there I figured whatever, go ahead. They estimated the job would take about 24 hours to complete. Little did I know “24 hours” meant a month and a half to them. I’m not even kidding. Every time I went in to the store to check, they yelled at me and said “there’s a guy who comes in to do the work, but he’s been just swamped lately. He’ll get it done when he gets a chance”. So 1.5 months later I receive a call, and it’s finally done. I go to pick up my guitar, and plug it in to one of their amps to check out how it sounds. It sounded like something was damaged in the guitar. I told them that there was something seriously wrong here, but they said it’s probably their amp and I should go home and check it out. I went home, plugged it in and it was messed up. It literally sounded like metal springs grinding against each other. The strangest noise I’ve ever heard from a guitar.
When I took the guitar back to them, they were incredibly rude and told me it was not their problem and the pickup was broken. So I was out $130, and left with a broken guitar. I ended up having to spend another $200 to get the whole thing back to playing condition.
I learned my lesson, and have warned all my friends against this store.
6. The Music Shoppe Inc.
Address: 1540 E College Ave #4, Normal, IL 61761 , Bushnell , Illinois , United States
My family loves the music shoppe! I have a 13 yr old daughter that plays multiple instruments. So we are in contact with them regularly. They are always so friendly and makes the process easy as can be wether it is buying a instrument or just little accessories. And they always go above abd beyond for the customer.I’ll always recommend them to everyone and a life long customer! Thanks music shoppe!
Very clean
I like cleanness
I rate 5 stars
Will be back
Very friendly place. Needed my bass set up and new strings.
Got the music my daughter needed.
I have to say I really liked The Music Shoppe! An excellent store.
I finally visited the shop to get a couple boxes of guitar strings. I just didn’t feel like ordering online. I want to see merchandise in-person!
Wonderful, friendly staff in the store. Great instrument selections.
The store was bigger than I thought, a pleasant surprise.
Make yourself feel good, check out an instrument for yourself, live…. talk to staff about what you’re looking for. Sorry, but I love these “real” businesses.
Full line music store. I was looking at guitars and basses. Lots of accessories.
Us as parents made a mistake about payments on my son’s sax so they did what there Right was and got it back so we went in and bought one from them paid it full out that same day we bought it they informed the music teacher to take it they were picking it up the following Friday so my son had it removed from him in front of his classmates just before his Christmas concert he was crushed at something he was looking forward in doing
we had receipt for sax which we paid cash for so with them doing this my son no longer wants to do band or music just because the people at the music shop if I could give them negative 5 star I would who would tell a music teacher to take away a sax that was paid for from a child for no reason at all I hope u go out of business?
They’re expensive, the cables and accessories they sell will usually cost nearly twice in price, just go on reverb or guitarcenter and order online instead. Saving customers money. The place is fairly quiet for a music shop and they have great service and employees though, I just wouldn’t suggest buying any accessories or equipment stuff like cables for electric instruments.

8. B & J Music Inc.
Address: 3232 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61832 , Bushnell , Illinois , United States
The staff members are all very kind and helpful.
The store is stocked with supplies for every member of the band.
I found their prices to be very reasonable.
The instrument repair man was able to replace the cork on my groups clarinet while we waited.
Always helpful and friendly
Disclaimer: I teach music lessons at this store.
B&J Music is a great place to find what your musical needs. They rent instruments for band and orchestra students and sell the method books used in many area schools. A representative from the store visits schools to service instruments and bring ordered supplies to the music teachers. Private music lessons are offered for guitar, violin, drums, piano, voice and woodwind. Other lessons may be available. There are several guitars, ukuleles and other string instruments for sale as well as a few keyboards. There are accessories for all instruments and a selection of music books. Whatever is not in stocks, they can order for you and usually have it to you in a few days. There are people to repair various instruments. The staff is considerate and will go out of their way to help you if they possibly can. They welcome good private teachers, and studio rental is reasonable.
Above avery music store.
Have music lessons there and is clead.
Good place to shop and has good teachers there
Staff isn’t very friendly!
Practically nothing for bass guitar and they were completely out of friendly customer service.
Over priced guitars, low quality at that. Better off shopping online. I have returned three different guitars now due to bad necks, and did I mention the guitars were over priced?
