I have been taking my son in for lessons at The Guitar Place. Demian is not only a gifted artist but a gifted teacher as well. Within weeks my boy was playing and singing entire songs at 8 years old! Highly recommended. The Guitar Place also has a sweet set up to play both acoustic and electric guitars that are for sale. Highly recommended, honest, and attention to detail.

I think these positive reviews are bogus. I read similar reviews to mine over at pissedconsumer that are probably more trust worthy than the positive reviews here

I purchase a set of vintage Grover tuners from The Guitar Place Chico thru eBay. Their user name there is boutiqueguitarchico. The tuners were advertised as “EXC+ COND WORK PERFECTLY!” and also said “packed with extreme care” Those were the words the store owner Damien used in the ad.

I received the tuners in an itty bitty bag barely large enough to stuff the vintage tuners in and they were all crushed to pieces and bent. I paid $10 Priority Mail to ship the package to the same state (I’m about 150 miles away).

I contacted The Guitar Place Chico and complained. Damien the owner responded and was nothing but rude and disrespectful. He started out by sarcastically calling me “classy” and told me to send them back if I don’t like it and then complained that he didn’t charge me enough. Never once was he the least bit apologetic.

I have been extremely pleased with the quality of work from Jim Williford at Stringed Instrument Works. Jim has worked mostly on my acoustic guitars and a banjo over the years for bridge and pickup replacements as well as some occasional buzzing issues I was unable to address myself. Jim is professional, his pricing is fair, and he always does a great job.

Jim is a very knowledgeable guy. He’s done a great job on the guitars that I’ve brought in.

He knows what he’s doing. And he’s really cool!

Jim is a nice guy however, the work he did to my guitar was minimal and incomplete. I asked to fix the crack on my old guitar and all he did was fill the gap on one crack on the front of my guitar. The back is the same untouched and cracks showing. I am now online ordering epoxy to fix the cracks myself. He charged me $140 dollars which is too much for the little work he did. Be aware, and see if you can fix your guitar yourself before going to him. I feel ripped off.

So glad I chose Mahar’s Vintage Guitars for my Martin 7-28! The guitar was set up beautifully and shipped professionally. A million thanks for the joy this ’81 Martin will bring me. Great to have a shop you can trust and support!

I took a subwoofer at this place for repair. I got a call back about 3 to 4 weeks later regarding the cost, i asked them to hold the subwoofer until i have a chance to pick it up within 2 weeks without repairs and i was told it was not a problem. 2 weeks later it was pouring rain and since i have a truck bed which is the only place where the subwoofer would fit, so i didn’t not have a way of picking it up. i went today to get it and the person in repairs said that he threw the subwoofer away, because i took so long. He also claimed that he left a voicemail saying he would throw it away if i didn’t pick it up. I had a message to pick it up, but he did not say that otherwise it would be tossed away.
This was an expensive sub and the only thing it needed was a speaker, the amp on it was perfect and the box was in great shape. Anyone with common sense knows that they probably fixed it and sold it, given that everything was in great shape except for the speaker. I feel that they way they do business is dishonest and do not recommend this place to anyone.

Guitar center is like a playground for musicians. They have a great selection of new and used guitars and amps. Customer service is spot on. They even have an amazing technician who can fix your instrument. Additionally, they offer music classes. Parking is never an issue.

They have repaired 2 of my guitars. They both ce out perfectly how I wanted them to. They went over beyond.

We order a speaker and Guitar center canceled the order. Then we reorder a different speaker and we called and said it should be arriving the following week. We never received a phone call nor a email stating it came in. By now it’s been over a month. We called customer service and they stated that the store mix up and gave it away to a different customer.

Staff is slightly rude and unpleasant. Showed up to buy an expensive item but I was ultimately driven away by staff. Waited for a long time to get assistance (have them reach the guitar) ended up ordering it on zzounds. Get it together Guitar Center its not the first time this has happened, with me at least.

Didn’t go there ,just parked.
