Jim Palenscar is so knowledgeable and supportive, especially of beginners like me. He has some interesting inventory, from dobros to conventional pedal steel guitars to beautiful Weisenborns, and all the tech stuff a person could need.
Just bought my first steel from Jim, and couldn’t be happier with the experience. He clearly has his customers’ best interests prioritized, and will take all of the time necessary to get you into the right guitar for your abilities and budget. Very generous with his time and considerable expertise. An incredible resource.
We had two vintage steel guitars that my husband inherited but would have been cost prohibitive to ship across country. Steel Guitars of North County was referred to us so we made an appointment and took them in for them to see. Much conversation later, we sold them to the shop and are so happy that they will, hopefully, become a part of another musical family. The owner was knowledgeable and honest and we felt great about it!!

Always friendly, helpful, couldn’t recommend them more!
Great place to get a guitar or banjo. Nice and knowledgeable staff
Always a great selection of used equipment. I had just popped in to the store to pick up a couple of replacement parts for my son’s guitar and he had what I needed at a excellent price.
Good advice/opinion. I considered refinishing my classical guitar but the staff advised I use #0000 steel wool until the finish was completely worn down. This saved me worry/hundreds of dollars. One con: I was charged $5 for one string being changed. I understand that small businesses need consistent profit but that was a little petty. The staff member used an electric peg winder which I would use if I had it.
Very nice and informative. Not pushy either which makes for a comfortable environment.
Buena ubicación, surtido de instrumentos y accesorios horario no muy bueno.
Terrible customer service.
Was browsing and the older man who worked at the shop scolded me to trying out guitars. Lost my business for sure.
Seemed like a cool little shop, but it was the way the owner handles potential customers that lost my business. I went in and noticed that there was a lot of cheap guitars and a lot of brands I had ever heard of. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s just that their selection was very unfamiliar and I couldn’t tell which was a reliable brand. It was apparently clear the owner wasn’t in the mood for talking. He was more focused on a repair job than actual sales. Everything on the wall was around $200 dollars and the only nice guitars were locked up in a case. When attempting to try out a guitar from the wall I asked for a pick. The owner refused to give me one not because he didn’t have one, but because it would scratch up his cheap guitars. The owner is nice and knows about guitars, but its obvious to everyone that steps in that he isn’t interested in letting you play them if your not going to buy. This isn’t a guitar shop it’s a repair shop with guitars available.
Vinny did an excellent job of outlining all my options and giving me time to make the decision I wanted.
Love this “all ages” friendly music shop. I was in search for group piano lessons for my 6 year old son. Found GM online and never regretted .After taking few group lessons we have decided switching to private lessons would be better for our son and Melinda was very very helpful throughout the transitioning and she even gave a private lesson herself to make sure Emre is on track .
Currently taking private lessons from Heidi every week . Emre simply loves her . After the shut down they started giving online lessons which I am very pleased bc my son will have a chance to stay on track. Even the virus could not stop Giacoletti Music. Highly Recommend this Family Owned Family Friendly Music Shop!
I cannot recommend Giacoletti enough! Such a great community and wonderful place to learn music.
Only thing wrong is that they don’t have many guitars in stock, but the ones they do have are a GREAT value, the people are great and this is a really good store if you looking for the necessities, and most of the time good conversation.
We took a guitar in to be restrung and it was done in five days. Seems to be working well.
The employees at the shops are pretty friendly. Been here twice and it’s never to busy. Came in once to buy new strings for my friends uke to fix a problem. They helped us find out the root of the problem and went above and beyond to help us out. This is my new local shop now
the listed number here is a fax
Very unwelcoming, one of the workers was so rude. Looks like I’ll continue shopping at guitar center.
Alright so i had violin lessons here for a month, and whenever it was my time to have the lesson, the teacher stayed overtime with their other students and then when before our lesson finished they would rush me out, i felt extremely unwelcomed and the teacher jumped around from subject to subject on what we were playing that i couldnt focus on improving anything. Overall i was discouraged from practicing for a while but now i found an amazing teacher elsewhere who ACTUALLY teaches me and i feel so much welcomed else where.

My daughter is very happy with our newly bought piano. Yanlin is very knowledgeable and the selection is great. Highly recommended!
I had an incredible experience at this piano store. Being a first-time piano buyer with no prior knowledge about pianos, I was initially apprehensive. However, the owner took the time to explain so many details about the pianos without ever pressuring me to make a purchase. This genuine approach truly won me over. I eventually bought a fantastic piano at a great price. Although the piano had a minor scratch which I was aware of before purchasing, the owner graciously fixed it during delivery. Highly recommend for both the quality of pianos and the exceptional customer service
Clean, organized, and accessible staff. Exchange is well stocked and has a lot of variety. They frequently have sales too. Great MCX.
Always always satisfied with the service and I can find almost anything I need or want
No tax and does price matching
We tried to purchase the last drone and they could not find a bar code for it. We rarely enter the MCX. That would have completed our shopping
A wide and great selection of name and off brand items. Groceries are limited (commissary is next door though). Plenty of electronics, kitchen supplies, clothes, military apparel and uniforms, a garden/outdoors center, recreation and exercise department, a nice tailor shop and cheap but fast haircut center. Also has a dukin donuts and a frozen yogurt place. It’s got it all, would recommend a visit.
Standard MCX
Young marines and sailors! Don’t buy electronics from here!
They have signs everywhere with their return policy and then don’t honor it! Beware! I bought a Nintendo switch and an oled switch and tried returning it and they tried telling me I couldn’t return it because it was considered software?!?! What?!?! A gaming console isn’t software! Went through so many hoops to finally return it even called the main number for shopmyexchange. I just ended up returning everything…. then they were all looking at me funny because of it….
Poor choices in mens and womens fashions!
Used to be a good place to shop in the early 2000’s now places out in town are way cheaper than on base. Shop out in town and save money.

I did some recording out of state, but needed to go back and track a few additional things locally afterwards, and Oceanside Music Studios came to the rescue. Mitch did an exception job, and his partner, Leilani, even helped arrange a choir that they recorded. They go above and beyond, and you won’t find kinder, easier people to work with.
I was visiting in the Temecula area and went to some wineries. The music of John Lowery was a perfect way to enjoy my time with friends. He was very versatile in his song choices. Love his sound. I also followed him to other gigs he was playing during our stay.

My daughter just finished Coastal’s annual ukulele camp. She was quite disappointed — that it only lasted 3 hours/day! She would have been happy to stay at the studio all day, learning new songs from her awesome teacher, David, and gearing up to pummel him with water balloons at the end of the week. As a parent, it’s bittersweet when your child is bummed to be leaving with you. But it’s a clear sign that Coastal is doing things right.
The social distancing has not hindered the relationships nor the quality of lessons provided. Super happy with their quick adaptation to the Covid challenges.
I’ve recorded two albums with Cedrick Courtois. He is great to work with – has a thorough understanding and creative approach to audio engineering, years in the business, musical knowledge and is easy to work with. Not to mention that he listens to the concerns and ideas of the musician and even knows how to mic a harp! Cedrick is my ‘go to’ audio engineer and I highly recommend him!
Recorded some Vocals at “The Castle” with Cedric and was extremely happy with the result. Cedric is a pro! Wastes no time getting you setup with the proper mic and levels. Very patient and had great insights into which takes to use, etc. He’s a protools wizard and made me sound like a million bucks. Highly recommend!

Lela has been teaching piano to my son Kyle for well over 5 years now. She is phenomenal in working with children and has an excellent ability to bring out the best in the kids she works with. I would recommend her in a heart beat to anyone who is looking for a teacher to work with their child.
Floyd W.
18 years ago we started this journey. This week we sadly ended as Sarah is off to college. Lela has been the best teacher. Kind and generous with her time. Not just music but great life lessons. We will miss out weekly lessons. Best of luck for the future. Mrs. Lela is the BEST!
My kids love taking lessons with Mrs. Lela! They have learned a lot in a short period of time.

Dale and his crew are trustworthy and great to build a relationship with if you’re a musician
Excellent service with the right amount of knowledge I needed to get new sax reeds. Thanks!
Dale and his staff are very knowledgeable in what they do. They repaired a student flute of mine so that I have a good playing back up flute. My Armstrong bass flute went in today for probably a full overhaul. Check back later for that review.
Good service and knowledgeable staff.
Nice vibe. Good stuff. Reasonable$$
This is such a gem of a store. The staff is awesome and super helpful. I especially like the fact that they are kid friendly and treat them with respect and the attention the deserve as customers.
I have them 2 months with my saxophone and they did not check it out
