They’re kind, helpful and always make you feel welcome.
Great place. Love it.
Just had a fantastic experience buying guitar and mandolin strings here. Store owner cared more about my playing experience and buying the best product for me over making a couple extra bucks on upselling me a more expensive string. Highly recommend for all your music needs!
Our choir director gives me the list of music he wants and when I call, these folks are so helpful! They know right away what I need and are quick and efficient. My order comes quickly too.

As we walked into the store we were quickly greeted by Jeff the store manager. We explained to him we were looking for a specific brand of Alto saxophone for our daughter. Luckily, the one she wanted was the only one in stock. She tried it out and fell in love with it. Jeff gave us a great deal on the instrument and was very professional, courteous and friendly. If you visit this Music & Arts location, ask for Jeff B. Thanks!
Nice servise
Big thanks to Jeff, Max, and Trevor for all their help last weekend. As a result we ended up with a B&S C Tuba and a Hans Hoyer French Horn with maintenance agreements. Looking forward to doing more business in the future as needed.
The worst costumer service . Jeff ” the worst manager” I have seen in my life . He is a very big liar. He doesn’t know haw to treat the costumers. His phrase was I am the boss. My daughter has been doing piano lessons for two years there, never had a problem with any other manager . But Jeff is the worst employee over there, He thinks he is the boss he can make the rules.
Thank goodness for the skilled instructors! I wish EVERY SINGLE CALL WAS RECORDED. Honesty is no longer a policy here.
DO NOT…I REPEAT…DO NOT GIVE MUSIC AND ARTS YOUR BUSINESS!!! Worst experience I have ever had. I wish I could give zero stars, but I have to enter at least one star. I rented a cello for my daughter through their online system two weeks prior to needing it for school. I purchased the 3-month trial offer. This way the cello would be delivered to my daughter’s school and I wouldn’t have to go pick it up at the Itasca location. Well, the cello was delivered the week after it was supposed to be. What’s worse, the music book and music stand I also ordered online with the cello came two weeks late.
After my daughter started using the cello, she noticed that the peg at the bottom was broken. We took it to the Itasca location to get it repaired. They ended up replacing it with a new one. I decided that we would just rent the cello to the end of the 3-month trial period as I was not happy with my experience with them and then go somewhere else to rent it. When I returned the cello at the end of the period, the serial number on the new cello did not come up with my account number. Clearly, when I was given the new cello, the person did not enter the information correctly onto my account. The people at the Itasca location said it will be fine and I shouldn’t have to worry about anything. I returned the cello at the end of Nov. 2017. Well, in December I get an invoice saying that I owe for the next month’s rental fee which clearly shows that they do not have record of my returning the cello. I called customer service and I explained the situation about the serial number of the returned cello was not applied to my account. The customer service rep said she would contact the Itasca warehouse and resolve it with them and she would contact me when it was taken care of. Of course, I never received a call. Now I receive a letter from their internal Collection Department that I owe them money. This infuriated me!!! These are such incompetent people. I call customer service once again and they have no record of me calling in December. So we will see if this person will actually take care of this issue. I still have to call next week to see if things are progressing. They couldn’t guarantee how long it would take to close out my account. I am so sick and tired of wasting my precious time to call and check on this when it should not have even happened in the first place.
Again, I stress to everyone…DO NOT GO TO MUSIC AND ARTS FOR ANYTHING!!!! THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!
Subsequent to this review, the manager of the store called me and said he would personally handle this matter…which he did. I believe within a day or two their corporate office called me stating that my account was closed. Although shortly thereafter I received another statement that I owed money. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that the statement was already in progress by the time the account was closed. I waited to write this review to see if I would receive another statement and I have not. I will note that despite the extreme aggravation I have experienced, none of the staff I spoke with were rude or disrespectful.

Not ever open I came yesterday at 4:30pm now at 10:17am still not open supposed to be opened from 10Am to 8pm it says on the door sad I’m looking to upgrade my phone
They do not have experience
Very bad service they charge me for two screen protectors each of 25. The girl gave me a very little piece of paper with no numbers or prices. I was told that they USUALLY do that charge people over stuff if the system doesn’t work. I ask to talk to the manager and he told me “it’s ok we charge you but that was for activation. And in activation I pay 90 dollars so I told about the bad reviews and he say he doesn’t care about that all business have bad reviews. So please if you go to this place make sure you read your receipt and make sure you get the stuff you ask. I feel bad writing this because I’m sure the owner doesn’t know. But this are hard times and I don’t think people have money to spend on stuff they never get .

I bought some computer ram from them off of newegg. It started from New Jersey. I live in New York State. So you would think the shipping would not be long. I ordered it 2/28. It went from NJ to Ohio then is coming back here. Shipping says it wont be here until 3/5. Standard USPS mail would of had it here in 3 days. The trip to ohio was unnecessary and pointless. I CAN NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.
I ordered a copy of Fire Emblem 3 houses on the Switch and this company sent me a bootleg box with no cartridge inside.
Very hot factory and nothing but walking scanning movies to be closed and shipped
12. Maxwell Drums
Address: 2000 Bloomingdale Rd #110, Glendale Heights, IL 60139 , Carol Stream , Illinois , United States
Family owned. Great customer service. Everyone is friendly and help. Huge selection percussion equipment. Competitive prices.
Sold an old set of drums for a fair price. Then I walked around and saw the phenomenal selection of classic drums and percussion instruments. Worth a visit if looking for a drum set.
Was recently in Nashville for a friend’s bachelorette. We saw him played at FGL house and had a great time. His charming energy on stage was captivating and knows how to engage with his audience. It was fun listening to you sing and singing along with you.
Thank you, from FL
We met Michael about 5 years ago in Nashville while he was singing live. From that moment on, EVERY time we come to Nashville, we make sure we find him to listen to him sing. He is AMAZING and will make it even bigger someday. He can sing anything requested and entertains the crowd with ease. Not only is he a great musician, he’s an even better human being. I highly recommend following all his social media and making sure to watch him live when you are in Nashville. 🙂
Our favorite Nashville show to see. Micheal does not disappoint!
Orchestra 33 was absolutely amazing and I would recommend them for all events! We had a destination wedding and Orchestra 33 traveled all the way to Cabo to be a part of our special day and we felt so lucky to have them. People of all ages never left the dance floor and we continuously heard after our wedding that it was the best band that our guests had ever heard. We even had people who weren’t wedding guests ask if they could join our party just for the band! If you are trying to decide on a great band for your wedding, use Orchestra 33 – you will not regret it! We are working on figuring out our next big event to be able to have them join us again!!
Orchestra 33 performed at our son’s wedding on New Year’s Eve 2015. What a blast! The dance floor stayed full with people of all ages for the entire evening. My wife and I both received numerous comments from our guests on had much they enjoyed Orchestra 33. The list of songs that they played was impressive, covering rock, pop, country, and everything in between. They even did a few requests. The band was great to work with and totally professional in all aspects. Orchestra 33 made our son’s wedding an evening we will remember forever.
Arwen and Freddeicka Twist and Shout with Orchestra 33!! CTCA Christmas Party we had a blast!!
Excellent staff helpful and best management in all Pilot gas stations !!!!!! Sunny Best
Always clean and friendly!!
It’s a clean place But you will never find a parquet place, you also don’t have the option to take a shower, think about it, go somewhere else I think
Ok. It appears they are making an effort to have a nice place in a bad town.
City ordinance seems to ban any establishment with showers and or overnight parking.
The employees were kind and friendly but the lack of parking was a real downside
The store looks brand new….but there are no showers….half of the personnel is nice…but the other half not…..very little parking…crowded and full very early….
I wouldn’t even give them a star. They used to be the best truck / car stop around. Allways clean and frendly. They would keep the semis in there parking and out of the car and sprinter lot. Then they let there managment go. Now its a joke. Almost all of the employees are ignorant and rude. Some actually ignore coustomers of other color than them-selves. The bathrooms are disgusting. The prices are above all other gas stations and or stores. On food, gas , and diesel. They dont monitor there parking lot at all. Theres semis parked in car parking and up the entrance from gary. I was almost hit twice just trying to get to a pump, once pullind down the entrance which is down to one lane. And then comeing through the back parking lot where 6 semis were parked when there os no semi parking there. And guys not digging on truck drivers. But tge lot is made for smaller vehicles. Your truck stick out five feet past the spot. Then makeing it unsafe and difficult to navigate through the lot. But this should be handeled by the station. But there two busy goofing off and not doing there jobs to do anything that might consist of tge haveing to put in effort. Shame on pilot. Your stop is the worst station around. Maybe you should have treated your good employees better. Garbadge gas station. Enter at your own risk!!!
Really small lot. Parking is VERY limited. Not to many places in Carol Stream to semi park. Creates problems
18. Carol Stream Lawn & Power
Address: 1370 Army Trail Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188 , Carol Stream , Illinois , United States
The service is excellent and the product line is the best. They have been very patient in explaining things and won’t sell you what you don’t need.
2/5/2021 My husband has used this “beast” 4 times now. We have a 200′ long drive with side parking and 3 lanes of Route 59 in front of our house. Thanks Mike for your expertise!
Best on Earth I would pass ten other shops to get my parts and service NUMBER ONE!
Great people great store
Nice atmosphere, can be expensive though
Still waiting for my trimmer. Now going on three weeks.
It gets one star if it wasn’t for the dog.
Went in to buy a lawnmower and sales associate was arrogant and rude. After several refusals to his recommendations he proceeded to sell me the one I wanted only to be told that my debit card was declined. I called my bank and my bank said those transactions never even took place. I bought a better one at Home Depot. They are diriminative, arrogant and plain stupid for not accepting everyone. At the end of the day money is money fool.
I would never, ever go back there again. They are rude, they took my equipment apart, it was too costly to repair and instead of giving me it back in one piece they gave it back to me in a box filled with parts. I took my tractor lawn mower there to get it fixed, they told me it couldn’t be fixed and they said they would get rid of it for me, and several weeks later I went in there to get a part and there was my lawn mower for sale.
Hours are nit accurate. Sign on door states their “business hours” however they close early, and not open Saturdays.
19. Mile Long Records
Address: 350 W Front St, Wheaton, IL 60187 , Carol Stream , Illinois , United States
Came to Chicago for a day of record shopping. Went to 8 places. This was our favorite shop by far!!!
Cute record store in downtown Wheaton! I try to stop in whenever I am in the area and have found some great vintage records.
Great selection but a bit pricey
It was okay…..
All new vinyl was $5-$10 above market price you’d see elsewhere. Used stuff was even higher markup. Saw so much vintage $20+ used items that you’d find in dollar bins or for below $10 elsewhere. The good part was the nice selection: diverse, pretty comprehensive, and clearly hand-picked to keep the fluff out of the racks, which is a nice touch I’d like more places to do. I’d wager the real estate is what drives the prices up for this gentleman’s shop. Nice guy, unfortunately appears to mark up to keep the current spot. I’m giving three stars because it is a nice place to go if you’re around, but if you want to save at least $5 per LP, somewhere else is better.
Edit: the long winded reply does not negate the fact that out of the hundred record places I’ve been to, your prices were $5-10 above all the others.
Cool place, lots of old vinyl. Reasonably priced.
Great selection. A little on the pricey side. Owner is nice but I could see him rubbing some people the wrong way….kind of like a High Fidelity situation.
Offensive pricing. I understand that vinyl is making a comeback and that some albums are expensive but some of the prices on these albums that should be in the $2 bin
Very dissatisfied. Called and asked about return policy of new and resell vinyl, was buying records as a gift and didnt know if they would be a flop or not. Explained that situatuon and was told, new returns unopened within a time period, was ok, opened or resell vinyl would be treated as if you brought them in to sell. Nephew’s birthday comes around, two days later, he was happy. Two weeks after that, admitted he wasnt intrested in vinyl. Went one week later, a total of 4 weeks, and was told no return on new unopened vinyl because he was sure “what condition it had been kept it” even when told it was in house for a month, and we asked about returns before buying and he NEVER TOLD US THIS WOULD BE A PROBLEM. Keep in mind, we were returning 2 of the new unopened records and NONE of the opened resell ones or the 45s, Still said no. Whatever ur policy is fine, but don’t hide it or lie about how you feel about returns to your store, especially when SPECIFICALLY asked about and being told the date of the birthday and that return policy would effect our decision to buy. Next I’ll go to major chain store atleast they will be upfront about returns.
EDIT: AS I STATED ABOVE, YOUR “CLEARLY STATING YOUR RETURN POLICY” WAS TELLING MY MOTHER AND I THAT AS LONG AS THE RECORDS WERE UNOPENED AND IN GOOD CONDITION THE NEW ONES, WHICH WERE PRICED HIGHER THAN HALF PRICED BOOKS, THEY COULD BE RETURNED. WHICH THE 2 ALBUMS MY MOTHER BROUGHT TO YOU WERE. YOU NEVER SAID, UNOPENED, IN GOOD CONDITION, AND AT MY PERSONAL DISCRETION IF I WILL TAKE IT BACK. AND YOU DIDNT CARE 4 WEEKS LATER WHEN MY ELDERLY MOTHER CAME TO YOU TO RETURN AND HELP, BUT NOW YOU HAVE A BAD REVIEW AND YOU ACT LIKE YOU CARE. YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN SO EAGER TO HELP WHEN MY MOM WAS INFRONT OF YOU. THIS IS COMING FROM A 25YR RETAIL MANAGEMENT ALLUM INCLUDING 10YRS IN NORDSTROM COSMETICS. I NEVER HAD A CUSTOMER COMPLAINT. EVEN IF IT WAS A RETURN TRANSACTION.
20. Goodtime Music
Address: 3 W Streamwood Blvd, Streamwood, IL 60107 , Carol Stream , Illinois , United States
If you are interested in guitars this is your store. Great products, competitive pricing and everyone there is knowledgeable and friendly.
Great place. Really helpful staff
Very kind and smart staff. Helped me find the right gear for my needs. Goodtimes has a great selection of high end and budget equipment. This place is way better than guitar center! I’m very pleased with their service and will definitely come back!
Great selection
God
A gem in the middle of suburbia. There aren’t many mom and pop guitar stores around any more these days, and the few that are out there cater mainly to nubes, offering only cheap guitars and small combo amps.
This place is not one of those. They carry a decent selection of pedals, medium and high end guitars (like PRS), and many amps (both head/cab and combos).
Definitely a place worth checking out, and handy to visit if your band is playing a gig next door at Chicago Loop Sports ;).
Drove a considerable distance to Goodtime Music as I’m interested in an guitar that they happen to have. Got there at 11 am only to find they open an hour latter at 12. Although that’s their choice and I should have checked, who opens at 12 noon? Well we waited around till noon and still no one shows up. Hung around till 12:30 … still no one around. We left as well as several other people waiting in the parking lot.
Who would buy an expensive item from these guys? Service, support etc.?????
Either they have NO regard for their customers or they are out of business. Given that the windows contain a quarter inch of ice I’m assuming the later.
I had three guitars strung up with new strings before I moved from IL, one of them was a Yamaha classical guitar. I was having all my stuff put in a moving container right after that so I did not get a chance to tune them up for a while. Upon starting to tune up my Yamaha after I was settled I found that the high E string was not put on correctly, on the tuning peg and on the bridge on the box of the guitar. I found when applying tension on the string to tune it up, first it was slipping on the peg then it popped through the bridge hole. It turns out there was only one small knot made at the bottom of the string. For so called professionals, they don’t even know how to string up a classical guitar correctly. I should have done it myself in the first place, however I was so busy preparing to move I thought I would let them do it. Waste of money.
Not friendly. First guitar store I left from offended. Guitar Center has better prices and service.
Update:
We were asking if you a did trade in so you knew we were serious. It is not the policy it was the way were approached. He should not have put his foot on an amp but he did not see the sign. Either way it is what it is.
