DJ Wade provided exceptional service and sound at our wedding. He is friendly, easy to work with and knows how to get there dance party started!
Wade is an excellent DJ! He is professional, personable, thorough, responds quickly to correspondence, and can accommodate what you need. He has access to an extensive music library and was able to play everything requested at our event. The photo booth was a huge hit with our guests and provided us with many fun and unique memories of our party. We highly recommend Wade for any event you have!!
I heard Dj Wade Cameron at a company function and thought, “good luck” getting this party going thinking my co workers were not going to budget toward the dance floor. After a couple minutes I could not believe how packed it was while the rest of the place was empty. He has a unique way to mix and blend music that people of all ages and musical tastes can connect to. I had to review him to share how impressed I was with this talented guy. It also really brought our whole team together through music in a way that I think could not have happened through work alone.
DJ Wade was nice enough and helpful getting sound to all the different locations involved in our venue (ceremony, cocktail, and reception were very spread out in a large area). He used an app that was helpful and very thorough with helping him run the day smoothly. However, unfortunately, there were some mishaps that bothered me quite a bit:
1. He played the wrong version of our first dance song even though I had used his app to request which song I wanted specifically (he played a cover rather than the original).
2. He played 2 songs by the artist on our “do not play” list (there was only one artist on this list).
3. We instructed him to cut out the songs to end the father-daughter dance and the mother-son dance early rather than playing the entire song. He cut one early but played the full song for the other.. kind of awkward.
I understand mistakes happen, but all 3 of these things were clearly spelled out in advance in the app that he gave us to use. Just some things to consider in case things like this would feel like a big deal to you as they did to me.
3. Guitar Hut
Address: 1385 Forest Park Cir #106, Lafayette, CO 80026 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
Stopped in yesterday for a few things and met Evan. Great guys in the shop. Very friendly and helpful. Good selection of guitars. Dropping my (beloved) bass off for setup in the near future. You should stop by if you need something!
super nice folks, always very helpful.
Came here regularly for bass setups. In my opinion, they’re the best in town for this type of work. Evan is very great at what he does and is an overall professional, honest guy. Very communicative and will work with you to get you what you need. Shout out to Tanner, as well.
Can’t recommend this place enough!
I had these guys take a look at a signature bass of mine. It had some electrical problems going on with it that were a bit out of their knowledge base but Evan is great guy. Very honest and very hard working. I will return with any other problems I have in the future and I would recommend them. Their pricing is very fair and they are willing to help out customers any way they can.
I called to sign my boys up for guitar lessons and had a few options worked out and was told I would be called back to confirm which times worked. I never heard back. Then, when I called back to confirm options, I was told they didn’t have any of my information logged and there were no longer any time slots available for lessons.
Everyone I have met there seems very nice, but very poorly organized.
4. Wildwood Guitars
Address: 500 S Arthur Ave STE 700, Louisville, CO 80027 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
I decided to purchase a Gibson R6. Placed the order online and received a call from Lance within an hour to go over the process my new guitar would go through before being shipped to me. Lance made it a clear priority to make sure my guitar was properly set up and expeditiously shipped to me. The guitar came in and let me say this was the best set up Gibson Les Paul I’ve ever played. I don’t think one could get the intonation on a Gibson set any better and my fingers just fly on this thing! I would like to add that the complimentary T-Shirt from Wildwood is even high quality, seriously one of my best fitting t-shirts I have, lol! I will be looking to Wildwood first for any future guitar purchases for sure. The quality of the customer service and receiving a perfectly set up Les Paul has made this guitar special for me. Thanks guys!
Went to check out a Friedman, Lance was great. Thank you!
Happen to be in Boulder for a bit for work and had to visit. Was seeking a Strat. Incredible experience with gracious and helpful staff. While I didn’t find the strat for me, came close, I highly recommend Wildwood. Guitar shopping done right. Great place!
They don’t do setups on your guitar yet they have a warehouse full of guitars? Great selection and very knowledgeable.
I really love wildwood. Review would have been 5 stars but the covid restrictions won’t allow for entry Into the showroom so you you have to buy blindly. If there are issues the staff takes care of them promptly however.
Just like to drool over the guitars.
Wish my experience had gone something like these reviews. They should too as it could easily have resulted in a sale but, no, not the case.
I walked in and told the person that unenthusiastically greeted me I was looking at a Collings O2H in the $3000 range and wanted to see if they had something comparable. He said “We have over 2,000 guitars.” Uh, okay. I answered but anything similar like a 00 Martin for example? He led me to a computer screen and invited me to peruse their “over 2,000 guitar” inventory, find what I wanted and he’d bring it out then walked away. Zero guidance. Didn’t make it through the first page of Martins before walking out.
Before the day was over I returned to the store carrying the Collings, wrote a check for just under $3,000 and drove home.
I understand Wildwood changed owners so perhaps this is their new business model and, hey, it may work out for them but if I’m dropping three grand or more on a guitar I expect service which I found plenty of at the three other stores I visited.
Excellent store as far as selection however I would not expect any service after the sale. I purchased a Martin D-28 Custom Shop. Used a humidifier to the recommended specs and less than a month after purchasing the guitar the center if the guitar split down the center. I called Wildwood and they told me there was nothing they would do. Told me I had to contact a service center other than them. They did not offer to take the guitar back and or replace it. I was surprised by their lack of service in something over $4k. I would not use them again. I am not hard to please but the fact that they would do nothing was really poor service in my opinion.
I started going there back in 2001 and have previously purchased four guitars from them over the years along with a DR Z Amp and numerous other goodies. The first being a Martin 00-15, then a Gretsch G6120 1959 in Lacquer both many moons ago. Then shortly thereafter one of first thin skin ’50s White Blonde Telecasters. And a little over two years ago a Brad Paisley Tele. I attempted to by another Telecaster this week and for lack of better words became very frustrated
You see, I used to go down to the shop as I only live about an hour up the road. Life happens you get busy and lately it’s been over the phone and online as free shipping and a lesser tax rate is better for me. I dealt mostly with Steve, Bruce and then Lance the last couple of times and they are all good people and made sure I was taken care of no matter in person or on the phone. I wanna say that after every conversation I have every had with Steve he makes you feel like a King and I know it’s not just for me as I have witnessed him many times treat everyone that way.
So why am I frustrated? It shouldn’t take 4 days to get a guitar in a box and out the door. I spoke with an Ian on day one to be informed that it was scheduled to ship in 4 days and if I wanted it by Christmas I would have to pay for extra shipping. I was with a customer on the side of the road helping them not be stranded so I quickly told him I didn’t need extra shipping and left it at that as I needed to get my work done. Day 2, I emailed to try and get a better understanding and dealt with a John that simply offered up excuses and just wanted to tell me how busy they were. So I got to thinking about all this and emailed them to cancel the order. I got an email back that now I was being pushed ahead of 11 other customers and the guitar would go out a day earlier if I didn’t want it set-up. This got me thinking even more, and I even wondered about the fact that this Tele was a very inexpensive guitar by their standards so maybe that’s why my order was being pushed back for some reason.
I’ve heard rumors that ownership has changed. I don’t know. I do know if Wildwood has become so busy that It takes them 4 days to put a guitar in a box and ship to a long time local customer an hour away they don’t need my business anymore.
5. Monkton Guitars
Address: 1505 W 1st Ave A, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
Small shop with an excellent selection of new and vintage guitars. No pressure from the knowledgable and friendly staff. I have bought two guitars there within a week, and I clearly need to ration my visits.
These days I mostly buy music gear online, but I gotta say I was impressed with Monkton guitars. For those of us who miss going to a fine brick and mortar guitar shop here ya are. The owner, Dave is knowledgeable and there are rooms of guitars to study and play. It truly is the best way to check out a guitar before buying. There is something to be said for the old ways. Well I guess I just did.
Had my guitar setup done here. Replaced the nut and saddle with bone as well. Just a beginner fender. The difference it made to the sound was incredible! Quick work great prices and solid workmanship. Can’t thank you guys enough.
Best shop around!
great place to try and buy, they know their stuff and are super nice and willing to help you find what you’re looking for. they have great recommendations and will let you play whatever for however long. very cheap for repairs and guitar work, much cheaper than other places. got my frets leveled/crowned and it sounds fantastic, however they did kind of gauge/scratch the neck on several frets. sucks, but not a huge deal as it’s not a high end guitar and the price was right ($60). again, sounds great but i would be weary of bringing a higher end model in as they weren’t very careful about taping off the neck to avoid cosmetic damage.
do not take your guitars here for repair! simple jobs will end up being 2 hours in labor charges. they will take your working guitar and send you home with a non-working guitar. they will mix up the wiring on the pots. they will give you pots too large so your knobs have a huge gap underneath. unbelievably unprofessional and incapable.
EDIT: The business response is not a fair respresentation. First guitar, volume pots wired backwards. Second guitar, repair only lasted the car ride home. Second fix only lasted the next car ride home. Third fix, incorrect tone mapping and too large of pots. Every single trip a problem. Why would I go back?
6. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
What a great music store! They have a wide selection of instruments, sheet music, accessories and a knowledgeable service department. To top it all off their staff is friendly and eager to help without the pressure.
I found Flesher Hinton as a result of their involvement with a very worthy cause. They participate in the “Bringing Music to Life” program. This organization accepts donated musical instruments which they repair and distribute to students across Colorado. You can drop your instruments off here knowing that they will be lovingly refurbished and then find them a new home with a worthy student.
I have to plug the Flesher Hinton service department as well. We took in two family heirloom recorders in serious need of some loving help. The service department didn’t flinch at their condition and quoted a very reasonable price to fix them up.
I went there to have my daughter’s violin repaired even though I bought it off of Amazon. The staff here was very friendly and helpful and didn’t want to charge, though I paid for their time since I’m in the service industry as well. I wanted a more cost effective piece considering my daughter is young still and will outgrow it. They never once said anything bad about the piece or where I bought it from. Truly a very humble staff with great knowledge and awesome customer service! I would recommend anybody with any beginners piece from anywhere and come here to have them show you how to fix it or use it.
Great customer support and service. Since I only needed guitar strings I thought my visit would be a simple walk-in, get strings, pay, and walk out… But the sales person turned out to be not only very personable and pleasant, but could tell me more than I ever knew about strings from manufacturer to the kinds of metal used in production…
I can only imagine how much help the staff can offer to customers who need assistance with any kind of purchase.
I truly believe that a customer can trust the folks at this small but excellent music store.
Like always the services people were just great.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
7. Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor
Address: 7515 Grandview Ave, Arvada, CO 80002 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
Your search is over. Best instruments. Best luthier/tech group in the region. No one else in CO will EVER work on my guitars whether acoustic or electric. I really cannot say enough. Thanks pickin’ parlor!
Great repair guys. They’ve setup most of my guitars (including repairs and upgrades), repaired a Martin with a bad chip in the neck, adjusted a warped mandolin neck, and fixed a long troubled custom amp head. The only shop that I allow to handle my guitars (worth the 25 minute drive).
Great little shop offering guitars, mandolins, banjos and a huge variety of stringed instruments both for sale and/or repair. A fun shop to visit, and if you play to try out the various instruments.
Fabulous selection but pricey.
They were unwilling to negotiate the price (at all) towards a trade in, which was a bummer. Don’t expect any deals here because you won’t get one. I would come back here if there was a guitar I really wanted, but otherwise there are similar guitars in same or better condition on craigslist for less, and without sales tax. He wanted 2600+ for a Martin HD28v with a crack in it.
Disappointing that employees won’t wear a mask, despite the sign on their front door saying it’s required. Decent selection but generally lacking in customer service.
Staff wasn’t interested in helping us, they seemed preoccupied with more important things…
I attempted to get my daughters violin finger positions taped prior to her concert tomorrow and the tech person on staff was not able to help but did suggest a couple other shops.
8. Music & Arts
Address: 7350 W 88th Ave Suite B, Westminster, CO 80021 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
We bought a like new clarinet for high school. Reasonable prices and great customer service.
Stopped in for the first time today and LOVED this place immediately. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful and didn’t make me feel awkward because of my lack of musical knowledge. Instead they were patient and really listened to my questions and answered them in a straightforward manner. The suggestions I was given were helpful and at no point did I feel like the sale was more important that I was. I will definitely be returning.
Super friendly, helpful staff.
Was able to buy a great violin
Organized and clean nice staff they don’t buy instruments
I am a music teacher. This is my go to for lesson books for my students.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE RENTAL PROGRAM if you think you’ll end up buying the instrument later. They lie about the details. I was told several times to keep renting in order to accrue funds to purchase a good instrument but found out after 3 years of renting that only 24 months worth of rental money goes towards buying a new instrument. You’re allowed to use more than 24 months worth to buy a used instrument but they jack the price of the used instrument up so you’re actually loosing money overall. They charged me over $900 for a used instrument (that I can buy on Craigslist for $400,) which cost $1100 new! I reached out to them to correct the issue and they didn’t even bother to reply back to me. DO NOT RENT!!!! Buy a used instrument and you can always turn around and sell it again if you/your child change your mind about playing.
UPDATE: about 6 months after I posted this review M&A finally got around to contacting me about the problem. The service rep I spoke with told me the serial number on our instrument indicated that we had purchased a saxophone. Except of course it was NOT a saxophone. But it might explain why they charged me an outrageous price. The rep had me email some information to customer service and she said I’d hear back from them. I did not hear anything from them for months so I finally called back. I was told they had closed the complaint as resolved.
Would not recommend for repairs. I left an instrument to be repaired at this store and was told at the time that the repair would be completed in 2-3 weeks. The repair actually took over six weeks and I received no updates during the process despite calling multiple times and being told simply that it was “in progress”. I paid nearly $500 for play condition repair of a clarinet with repads and cork replacement. Upon return, the cork between the lower joint and bell was too thin preventing a snug fit without air leakage. Additionally, there was an un-repaired crack in the lower joint. Overall, the “repaired” instrument was not in play condition—$500 and 6 weeks wasted. I definitely do not recommend using this company for instrument repairs.
The person that restrung my guitar did the whole thing wrong and he was saying he knew how to do it and we spent $30 on this and it wasn’t even done correctly he said he knew how to work on guitars but he didn’t even know which way to turn the tuning knobs
9. HB Woodsongs
Address: 3101 28th St, Boulder, CO 80301 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
Fantastic shop, awesome inventory of instruments on display, and great customer service and conversation with employee Hoyt!
Nice local place, friendly staff
Small but nice musical instruments stores. They don’t have a lot of stuff (my only complaint), but you be able to find some accessories and also some high-end acoustic guitars. Salespersons are friendly and they also have a music school in this place.
Called long distance for a specific piece of sheet music. While they do not have it in the store, the sales rep named Derek was extremely helpful and courteous. Kudos to him.
Great ukalele selection
Very friendly staff, unfortunately way over-priced. You can find some of the exact same items on ebay or Amazon for less than half the price at this store.
10. Rockley Music Center
Address: 4880 N Robb St #1, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Coal Creek , Colorado , United States
They handled my piano with professionalism and care.
They replaced a bridge on a violin and did it quickly. They really helped me out when I was in a bind. Their price was much lower than the other music shops I called and their turnaround was the next day.
The Rockley Music Center has very good after-sale service. They follow up very well. Their technician, Michael, did a fantastic job on the repair of my piano.
Thanks For the Workshop
Great place to get musical instruments anywhere from pianos to keyboards to violins, and guitars. My brother has a couple guitars from Rockley’s which have served him well. My wife just bought a Roland Keyboard from here which was an excellent price for excellent quality!
Staff were friendly courteous and knowledgeable
It was closed when I went there so I really didn’t get a chance to check it out but I will be back there
I drove by Rockley Music today and saw the “STORE CLOSING” sign on the building. I remember going into Rockley music with my parents when I was a kid. My dad still plays guitar and enjoyed going into Spaceman Guitars to see Chris Thomas. When I saw the sign, it concerned me that Spaceman Guitars was closing as well. Thankfully, I found out that they had just moved down the road to their own building located on the north east corner of Colfax and Kipling, right next to Metro PCS. It is sad to see that after almost 70 years Rockley’s is closing their store, but happy to know that Spaceman Guitars is still around for our family, but specifically for my dad because he likes the personal attention he gets from Chris.
Don’t think that piano salesmen are any different than car salesman! Some are making an honest living and some are trying to take you for everything you’re worth. Do your research before coming into this store!!
These guys are big time scammers. The pianos they’re selling are marked up nearly double what they’re worth brand new. Some decent grands (also overpriced) but the pearl river pianos are cheap junk that they tune up to sound nice in the store but the material quality is such that the piano turns to mush in 5 years or less. So much for an investment, you’ll be trying to give it away for free in 5 years with no takers.
