Staff was friendly. Store was clean. Great location. Prices are great.
Music says everything anytime you going to the music store buy instruments strings anything it’s a great place the people are really nice and friendly you know just about everything there is did you going to need
Staff are very friendly and helpful, though they didn’t have what I was looking for they went out of their way to help me find a place that Did.
Upset and Embarrassed. We’ve been renting from Meeker this school year for my kid’s alto sax and my clarinet, and they have been very supportive and helpful. I was so excited to hear they were having an Elevate Your Sound event all of May, and hoped to upgrade both our instruments. I made an appointment clearly stating what I was hoping to do. No one responded to me other than to confirm my appointment. I spent a month anticipating, hoping to try some quality instruments by different manufacturers. Instead, as soon as I said student I was met with “oh no, this is for intermediate, here you can try our student stuff.” Totally ruined my excitement, and frankly I was embarrassed.
Walked in..it was dead quiet. A lil weird for a music store. I mean no nolse at all, no talking, no muzac, no musicians playing..nice enough place it just struck me as odd.
Very little section of instruments, if you’re a drummer don’t even bother with this music store. Very rude worker, poor customer service. Definitely will not be returning.
Save yourself. Don’t go when busy. Their service model is first in first out on a waitlist…I waited 55 minutes to buy a $7 item. No one working the register, just all clerks working rentals…no help for those just wanting to buy a quick item. Good luck.
Please fix the hours. The google open hours and actual hours don’t match.
2. Moondog Music Shop
Address: 1716 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
It’s such a relief there are still wonderful shops like this we can go to. The owner is extremely pleasant and professional. He’s a seasoned expert and clearly has a passion for his business. As long as there are pure shops like this one still around, I can be spared the cookie cutter, over commercial let down of walking into a “Big Box Store”. Thank you Moondog!
My Telecaster had been running without the neck pickup for months after I got a little too intense on stage one night. I considered fixing it myself, but my knowledge of these things is rudimentary at best. Being new to the area, I took it to Moondog after some recommendations and immediately felt confident about my decision from my conversation with Mike. Two days later I got a call indicating he’d already finished. Not only was it a far lower price than I’d expected, he was also detailed in explaining what he’d done (with photos) and even did a little extra just to make sure my Tele was in the best shape possible. This guitar sounds better than ever, thanks again!
Everyone says this place is always closed when they say that they will be open. Well unfortunately that is the reality I too have experienced. Multiple times I’ve tried to visit during posted operating hours but I can never seem to catch the store open. I’ll keep trying though maybe they need some extra help like a part time employee. We need local musical instrument stores or all there’s gonna be is guitar center.
Web site is shady can’t seem to catch opend …..
2nd time I’ve stopped by during advertised open hours and shop is closed. I mentioned this to a friend and he laughed… Apparently it’s pretty difficult to figure out their schedule even though it’s posted on their front window and on the internet. He told me that’s definitely their reputation around town. Maybe it’s an amazing shop. I keep trying to find out.
Was a pain trying to find parking and got there at 5:25pm on a Friday which means they should have been open till 6pm. me and my buddy just wanted strings guess I’ll skip this place next time I just wanted to help a small business out oh well.
3. Blindworm Guitars
Address: 1014 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
They did a great job doing some body work on my acoustic guitar! And for a good price
The folks at Blindworm setup my bass guitar perfectly. The neck is perfect, the neck angle is better, fully intonated, and sounds better than ever! Plus, the service was mega friendly and attentive. Please give them work! I’ll be back tomorrow for another bass.
Waste of time… The website said they are open so I thought “support local” the place was closed despite the posted hours on the door. Really the place looked kind of sketchy outside but I guess I’ll never know what the inside is like… I ended up going to Guitar Center which was both open and super friendly.
4. Colorado Piano Warehouse
Address: 218 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Rick is amazing. All he wants is for more people to play piano. His business is 100% service oriented. He helped us pick out the right piano for our needs and our budget, and we will definitely be taking advantage of the trade-up program. Add in free delivery and why would you shop anywhere else?
5. The big Instrument
Address: 2400 Naegele Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
I recently bought a guitar at a pawn shop and wanted to up grade it. About my experience: 5 stars all the way. Here is why. Initially I contacted this place through email explaining what I would like done with my guitar. I get an email back the next day with all kinds of info about the guitar I bought that I didn’t even know. So I make an appointment. I get there. Angelo was very informative, and super laid back. He even updated me with video footage on the progress of the repairs he was doing. I can’t say enough good things honestly. Really cool dude. The work is a fair price, and the place is conveniently located near me. You will not be disappointed with service.
when restoring, designing,or even an upgrade to guitars or lapsteels….the big instrument is the best….i had my non-pedal steel re-designed,with new electronics….a beautiful blue heavenly finish….p90 pick-up….volume and tone added…new designed legs making it more stable… it came out great….i also had my telecaster upgraded….frets smoothed….it plays so much better….here you will enjoy a friendly atmosphere….with knowledge to spare….thank you to the big instrument…
Great work, knowledgeable, easy to work with, with a quick turnaround. I’ve worked with a lot of guitar repair people in my life and would highly recommend getting work done here.
6. Mijares Violins & Repair
Address: 111 N Tejon St suite 1 rear, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
I always send students to Juan because a good instrument is so important even for a beginner. He has very fair prices, rental options, and is a real craftsman with expertise. Whether you’re looking for a bow rehair, a student instrument in any size, or a fine handmade violin or bow, he can help you!
Always excellent work and friendly service!
Highly recommend this professional business that has an expert violin (strings) repair service. Mijares was very helpful, very kind, and knowledgeable, he can answer all of your questions about your instrument. He repared my violin, the neck broke off, he also addressed my concerns with sound. He repaired it quickly, and perfectly! Shop is tucked in off Tejon, a bit of a tight fit for a full-size truck (probably worse cause of ice/snow) but managable, and the shop is really cool when you go in with instruments lining the walls, (singing decor 😉 absolutely love it. Thanks again!
7. Music Go Round Colorado Springs
Address: 410 W Fillmore St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
This is a particularly good place to find great deals on used drum equipment!
Great store with an ever changing inventory and very fair prices.
Picked up a great deal on a used guitar here. The gentleman at the front desk (didn’t get his name) was very knowledgeable about the guitar and was super helpful/informative, which was great for a beginner like myself. Will definitely be going back for any future musical needs or questions!
Took my visually impaired friend for guitar accessories, first time visiting this store. Looks like a quaint little shop. Comfortable atmosphere. Being a drummer my mouth was salivating a bit. Stop by see for yourself. Located east of Interstate 25 on Fillmore, North side.
Friendly staff, variety in used guitar gear
Very knowledgeable and friendly
I called the store asked if they were taken in drum sets I load the car take it all the way down there take two pieces in the store and another guy says oh we’re not taking drum sets today how high can the employees be in the store this is wrong to have somebody go down there for no reason so my advice to you if you got something to sell don’t take it to them take it somewhere with employees still have brains in their head
October 2019 Sold me UNDISCLOSED DAMAGED equipment online through the Internet. They packed it extremely well. Shipping box was not damaged in anyway So it was damaged when they packaged it October 2019. They did offer refund but they’re not willing to pay the shipping for their product that was damaged (MY LOSS) Always verify the physical & working condition with your own eyes “never take a salesmans word for it“… I’m the Fool… other than that “LOVE MUSIC GO ROUNDS”!!
Bought a mpc for 200 a month ago, went to trade it in and they offered so little and said they would resell it for 150. So I got ripped off a month ago barely used the item . Used to be a awesome spot to trade old gear but I’ll just sell it myself and get more.. super disappointing will not buy here again. To think I recommended this place to so many fellow musicians
The guy that strings guitars is very knowledgeable and knows what he’s doing!! A bit pricey, but worth it
Much fun
They got all the gear.
Huge selection. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Fast, friendly trade. I would have given them 5 stars, but I have bought two used products from them that I had to return, they weren’t in the condition advertised and I had to eat two different shipping charges for a total of over $50. other than that they have always been helpful and fair.
They were very helpful and we got what we needed
Looks like they’re going out of business, not a lot in the store
Really slow service and place was a mess
Worst guitar center I have ever been . Their new GM John was rude. I thought they were trying to turn things around. Apathetic looking, non knowledgeable staff. I’ll go to Music Go Round or Prosound if I’m near CO Springs.
11. Earth Pig Music
Address: 1953 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Traveling in a Minibus accross the country I’d wanted to stop in this store after I’d purchased 3 cartons Djarum Blacks next door. Unfortunately a security guard who hadn’t even noticed my bus pull in to begin with was acting a bit of a jerk.
How do I know? When exchanging words he let on that a store had brought my BUS to his attention… while he was sitting in his car. In the rather small parking lot. He hadn’t even noticed.
Well. Anyway. Lost chances. Seems nice from the outside and the name denotes good people.
Tim was awesome!
12. Michael Miller Studios-Guitar
Address: 1128 Farragut Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Michael Miller is awesome! Totally professional, gets straight to the point and also explains things in detail. He’s set up a few of my guitars and did work on them. Everything turned out great! I wish I would have known him earlier when I used to be in a band.
Great guy always has a smile. His work is fantastic. Explains everything to you as you were his best friend. I would recommend him to anyone who wants good work with a fair price done in a timely manner. Customer of Michael since 2000.
Took my electric to get setup, which I thought was fairly setup and didn’t need much. Boy was I wrong. Wow! What a difference that made. It’s like a completely different guitar. Plays and sounds incredible. Highly recommended. Thanks Mike!

13. ProSound Music
Address: 2235 Academy Pl, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Great products, great prices, and most importantly it’s an OG store that has been in this community for a few decades. The guys there are extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell and are just overall very cool dudes. Need to buy a new guitar or have one worked on or just want the best set-up on your axe go see Rich, he’s the man!!
Prompt knowledgeable service! Sometimes thats a rarity these days. The guys at Prosound are top notch!
Great selection great service great price.
Easy going showroom with expert advice.
I’d highly recommend this place
Good for music lessons.
Yay
Always good to go in and see my old bandmates Howie and Richard! Prices are great and selection is awesome!
If you want to give away your money then go here. They can’t figure out our rental agreement to save there life. Bu the time they figured out how much longer we had on our rental we had the onstrument paid off and they kept charging us even after that. What a hastle.
The men in this place don’t seem that interested in helping women who come in to their establishment; we were completely ignored. I would recommend trying to find a place that doesn’t discriminate.
Guitar tech sucks
14. Colorado Springs Conservatory
Address: 415 Sahwatch St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Not only are they superb with kids, they offer music to the public. And it’s quite good!! Jazz nites have been my favorite but just check out their website for other events. Always a good time.
Great staff! My kids are learning so much!
I went with my son on his field trip. The staff was amazing, everyone was so nice, and everyone had a great time!
Before I begin this review, I must first mention that Linda Weise and the Colorado Springs Conservatory gave so much to my daughter Rebekah and Linda went over and above for Rebekah.
BUT….
On Wednesday, November 4, 2015, our family received a letter from the Conservatory that devasted us. The letter stated that Rebekah and our entire family were no longer welcome or allowed at the Conservatory, the Mezzanine, or at anything related to the organization including attending performances.
The Colorado Springs Conservatory had become Rebekah’s “entire world.” Everything that was important to her in the life she had in Colorado Springs is gone. I am just so, so sad.
Well, this place needs to learn how to communicate. Three of my sessions didn’t happen–2 because of weather, and 1 because of the virus. I’ve emailed twice about make-up sessions-Heather S.-and have gotten crickets. No apology, offer to make up, offer for a partial refund! If I was still in the Army, it might be court martial time (or at least an Article 15!).
That said I really enjoyed my lessons with Randy R. and Christina W. Very talented and kind people.
Don’t think I’ll sign up again, as of now.
15. Jenna Hunt Music | Harpist
Address: 5 W Cache La Poudre St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Jenna was a dream to work with! She is so incredibly talented, and our guests loved listening to her play at our wedding. She also took a scary moment and turned it into something beautiful – it suddenly rained before the ceremony, but just as it passed and the clouds parted, she played “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles! So many of our guests raved about this little treat! I really appreciate her quick thinking, as it made the ceremony even more special. Thank you, Jenna, for your kindness, warmth, and professionalism. It was truly a pleasure working with you!
Jenna is an amazing artist! She performed for my wedding ceremony and everyone told me how beautiful and elegant it was. She performed our favorite songs which I requested and she did it perfectly. I cannot say enough good things!
Incredible! Jenna was pleasant to work with, had fast communication and was so easy-going and self-sufficient on our wedding day. Most importantly, her music sounded absolutely lovely. Highly recommend!
16. Square Music Company
Address: 2332 Vickers Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Excellent service! The owner was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help and answer all my questions.
I met Cordell and Heather a year or so back and have done business with them since! Whether you are a seasoned player or novice, (they offer lessons too) you will receive trustworthy advice from these owners! Square Music offers consignment as well as new and used musical instruments. Cordell has also built relationships with some of Colorado’s finest Luthiers and offers several lines of custom hand built instruments! ~ Square music is a wonderful, family friendly alternative to “big box” retail.
I came in with a guitar that had been sitting unused for 10+ years. The guys in the shop were able to look it over, restring, and share where to start since I’m dipping my toes in and teaching myself. The customer service was fantastic. I will be back & won’t hesitate to tell others where to go for a personal experience. Thank you!!
Dead business. No one answered the door, or phone during normal business hours. Would have liked to drop some $$$ on a local business, but I guess I’ll go to another major retailer.
17. Music & Arts
Address: 2872 N Powers Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80922 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
This place is awesome and the people who work here are so nice and helpful!! For as big as the store is, they have literally everything you can imagine for your musical needs (:
Went there yesterday for a clarinet rental for my 6th grader. The gentlemen there were wonderful. I had no idea what to get or where to start. They took great care of me and I was in and out in less than 15 mins.
Very nice service l and I got an epic instrument
Large selection very helpful staff and you can even get free guitar lessons different days of the week
2nd Update- they refunded all the missed lessons and the lady I worked with, Erin, couldn’t have been nicer. I just feel like this shouldn’t have happened in the first place. I still caution readers to watch your bill closely. Document any missed lessons and if you don’t do a make up lesson, make sure you get a credit.
Update – after 4 months of lessons, I am not very happy with this place. The teacher seems fine but they are less than honest with their book keeping. The teacher has had to cancel several times, we had a snow day and we had to cancel once. We didn’t receive any of the 5 credits due to us. I had to call and alert them to this issue. I am now waiting a resolution. However, it makes me wonder how many other people they’ve done this to and how much extra money they make this way. I’m very disappointed. If you take lessons here or are considering it, check your bill closely every month.
I have a child taking lessons here. It’s ok but nothing special. My older child took lessons at a different place and it was a much better experience. If you’re looking for instruments, they have a very small selection. Mostly guitars and a few keyboards. I can’t pinpoint anything wrong, it’s just not the friendliest place. When they didnt have the lesson book the teacher told me to get, they didnt even offer to order it or tell me where I could get it.
They have people do a survey in exchange for a 25% coupon and never give it to you. I have passed on competitors sales on the item I have in mind waiting for this promised coupon. I call and they tell me it’s coming but won’t give the discount. It’s been two months and no one knows anything. They asked me for a valuable, to them, commodity (my info, preferences, buying habits, etc) in exchange for a 25% off a single item (better than any competition). Now they are MIA and no one there can help you. I will never consider buying from them and you shouldn’t either.
Worst company in Colorado Springs. Do not sign contract with them or do any business what so ever. They charge my account after the account was closed and refuse to get me any refund. Their excuse is that their system is new and it is backed up. Basically they treat people like they are idiots. When I first started with them they say that if class is cancelled they would issue refund and I am still waiting for 3 classes of refund after I have been promised that they will posted a week ago. They will tell you that corporate does that, but they are lying. Their corporate office told me that the refund has to be issued in the store. The store apologized and said that they cannot do that and ticket has to be summited and that was 11 days ago. The company is runned by bunch of crooks on local level who just want to take you money and have no intention of giving you the money back.
Do not do business with this company. U get a brand new instrument and when it comes time when u have $2000 of rental credit they want to say u can only have this instrument with a hole in it at a $1000. I don’t think so. Also with lessons they don’t cancel your Lessons when u cancel them weeks in advance and then charge u for it. They are horrible company. Don’t even do lessons with this company they cancel them and don’t tell you and don’t refund you the money or credit you. This company has gone way down hill it the year and this has become the worst.
18. Tiger Records
Address: 1625 W Uintah St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Stopped by yesterday on our way back home, and was so glad we did!! Sean was so welcoming, he spent time going over everything that he had that my Husband was looking for. Even pulled stuff from the back that he thought my Husband might be interested in. His love for music and his shop was so neat to see. We are in and out of record shops all the time and this was hands down the best experience!! Picked up some great albums as well! Thanks Sean, we will see you next trip!!
Best record store I’ve ever been to. They have an amazing staff that will help you find what you’re looking for. I joked around once saying I wish I had “The Chirping Crickets” album and Shawn helped me find it. Amazing!
Awesome selection of vinyls; service was friendly. Will def return
I found some fun songs on 45 but overall lacking 80’s which I am primarily interested in. Store has a minimalistic approach and staff were friendly with me. Wish I could give them 5 stars and hope they do well but selection just lacking for me.
19. Western Jubilee Recording Company
Address: 433 E Cucharras St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 , Colorado Springs , Colorado , United States
Great store with the friendliest owners! Sean and Bryan have everything for your musical needs and have an incredible selection of records in their shop! Even if you don’t know what you’re looking for, they’re both extremely knowledgeable and can find anything that fits your taste!
Great place to get some amazing vynial
Great shop with a nice selection. Super nice staff.⏺️
Decent selection with great prices. Super friendly and helpful staff. Definitely adding this to my rotation of record stores in the Springs
