It’s so great to see a younger generation of business entrepreneurs coming into the city and bring with them a more modern and current offering. Gold Camp is one of those local small town coffee shops and eateries you want to frequent! They have a modern atmosphere and vibe while still paying homage to the history and legacy of Cripple Creek. The coffee is what brought me here but it was the food that kept me here! I had a breakfast burrito stuffed with chorizo. The outer wrap was crunchy and bit heavy in a flour tortilla and it had a good amount of hash brown potatoes in it as well. Both of which I can’t process well, but for the regular patrons, this would be a hearty and warm and delicious combination all wrapped up in a massive breakfast burrito! I will say it was delicious! I’m a spicy fan so the peppers and chorizo have a good amount of “donkey kick” without having to add hot sauce. My wife had a coffee and pastry; warmed raspberry danish with a white mocha coffee. Let’s just say I’m in a good place with my wife! . I had a cold shaken espresso. They knocked it out of the park. The syrups are premium and you can tell the coffee is fresh and prepared for you versus sitting in a carafe! Definitely THE breakfast spot for Cripple Creek. Thank you Gold Camp for a great experience and fantastic eats!!❤️
We stopped in here for a quick snack after driving Shelf Road from Cañon City and the food + drinks were SO good! I had an apple danish, peanut butter cookie & an arnold palmer and my better half had a cold brew & chocolate chip cookie. Everything was fresh and had great flavor without being too sweet. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.
Old Town feel where everyone treats you like an old friend. Great food!! I suggest the amazing, delicious, huge burritos
Good coffee and pastries. Nice cozy interior to sit, relax and enjoy your beverage with two exceptions: 1) the Highway workers use this as their coffee break spot. They are nice and friendly but there are too many of them at one time to get quick service or find a place to sit. So somehow you need to time your visit around intersecting with their break. 2) Tourist families with hyper children. Please encourage your children to work out their extra energy in the great outdoors that surrounds them and to use their “quiet” voice when indoors in small cozy places.
There appears to be a good selection of yummy food that can be ordered alongside your beverage. However I didn’t notice menus anywhere that made a customer aware of this. For example, I only found out that they made smothered burritos after I had paid for and collected my beverage. I definitely would have tried this out if I knew they made them before I ordered.
Great local coffee shop with great breakfast and lunch menu! Not a casino which is a plus, food is a little pricey but it’s worth it!
This is a nice, clean cafe with a great morning selection and tidy menu. From fresh bagels to homemade pastries to breakfast sandwiches, and much more – it all pairs nicely with their craft coffees.
Overhead the manager using racial slurs to talk about an employee to another employee. Older woman I believe her name was Liz or Izzy? Not sure but older white blonde female for a description. I am black and it not only hurt me but I couldn’t help but feel bad for the employees working in such a wicked environment with such poor management. To talk about this kind of stuff is bad enough but to do in ear shot of your customers is down right trashy. Will never visit this coffee shop again.
For a tourist needed town I was surprised that the first time, after the cashier took and finished the order for people in front me, see walked away . Had to get her attention. Second day, lady said she be right with me, but stayed on her laptop, then a guy comes in she starts talking to him. Don’t know who he was, but I had already waited several minutes. . . I just walked out. Got my $7 coffee across the street.
I stopped by while going through town and ordered a sweet cream cold brew. Unfortunately, it had an overwhelming amount of milk and syrup in it. I decided to reorder and got a dirty chai latte. What I got was a shot of hot espresso in iced coconut milk. There was no hint of chai, and the espresso was over roasted. The atmosphere is nice and so are the staff, but I wouldn’t stop here for coffee. I didn’t have any food but others who did said it was good.

This place ROCKS!!! Wonderful people and a great drum instructor, Hector!!! Thank you
Hours say they are open online. Darkness. Will get my gear in springs tomorrow.
I had a horrible experience at this store. The lady at the counter found 2 seconds to get off her phone to say hello and then proceeded to stay on her phone the remainder of the time I was in the store and ignored me as I greeted her and asked her how her day was going. The store had very little to look at but I did happen to find a guitar pedal that I’ve been searching for a while. When I asked if I could test it she seemed annoyed I made her take time away from her phone and she then asked in a rude tone am I going to buy one. I was confused at her tone and replied yes. She then proceeded to put on a fake smile but the damage was done. When she asked which one I told her I was no longer interested and left the store. This store needs to retrain there people on customer service.
Response to review:
Hi there, my name is Shannon the owner of Rocky n Roll Music. I am also the person you wrote about in this review. We are a small business owned and operated by my husband and I, and do not tolerate misinformation about our business. You are clearly a reviewer looking to damage small businesses.
You should consider shopping at big box corporate retailers instead of attempting to damage our small business that has an outstanding reputation within our community.
Response to comment from owner:
If this is misinformation then why did you not make it a point to defend yourself against any of the points I stated? You being a local mom and pop business does not make you immune to bad criticism when you give customers a bad experience. I’ve worked in retail for a number of years and try and go out of my way to support local business. This is extremely unprofessional to reply to complaints in this manner. Playing the victim after a negative interaction on your part is not becoming of you. I do wish your business the best of luck with all of your endeavors but I hope you can take this review with a grain of salt and do better with your customer service.
I had a custom guitar built from the ground up. Dan worked with me on all the details from selecting several different wood species, to the custom inlays. I couldn’t be happier with it. It sounds amazing, and is a beautiful piece of art that I love playing!
Dan made a custom guitar for me that is beautiful. The craftsmanship is top notch and stays in tune. I play this guitar daily and perform live with it weekly. However, the best part is the sound. It is well balanced with clean high notes and a deep low notes. The sound comes out like a canon, just the way I like. Highly recommend getting a guitar from Dan.
If you have ever wanted to learn to play guitar, or improve your guitar skills, Cari Dell is the woman to call! Besides being the most talented guitarist I’ve ever heard, Cari is also an amazing guitar instructor. I started taking lessons from Cari when I was 60 years old. I’ve wanted to play guitar since I was a teenager, but the opportunity never presented itself until I met Cari at one of her shows. Cari is so encouraging, positive and patient in her teaching instruction, and she gave me great tools to use when I practiced at home. Call Cari and set up your first lesson…….you’ll be so happy you did!!!
Cari is a wonderful guitar instructor! I started lessons after retirement, and yes, she can teach an old dog new tricks. She combines her vast music knowledge, patience, and ease with instruction to make lessons so much fun. Her knowledge with so many music genres, makes her ability to instruct from country to heavy metal a breeze. She not only teaches many music genres, but performs many in concert. Woodland Park and Teller County are so lucky to have Cari. I’m not sure how long we will have her. I believe her song writing ability will land her in Nashville.
Cari is a fantastic guitar player as well as a fantastic teacher. After sort of hitting a wall after 10 years being self taught, I went to Cari to help me get to the next level. If you are a beginner or an experienced player looking for techniques to improve your playing, she’s the one that can help you. She has the skills for sure.

I love this little town! Scenic drive, little shops and lots of food, drinks and casino’s.
This was such a nice experience. I loved walking around and seeing all of the old buildings.
Great place to ride your Harley and take a day trip.
A mini Vegas I call it – cute little town – not as friendly as it once was though
So the drive from Colorado Springs had some stunning views and the visitor station was great and well worth stopping for! Spend an hour here for the view and the small informative “museum”. Great spot to learn a little about the mining history of the area. The town itself was simply casinos so if you’re into that it’s ok. (It’s no Vegas) there are “wild” donkeys …ancestors of the donkeys in the mines and they roam the streets. We were there in November and the donkeys were taken to a ranch for the winter. You can buy donkey food at the visitor station to feed them! So we headed over to the ranch and that was fun.
Visted on a Monday. Nice and quiet time, but it can get pretty crazy on a busy weekend from what I hear.
The town is a gambling town. Full of meth. Not a place to bring kids as there is almost nothing for them… entertainment wise or food wise.
If you want to hang out with a bunch of retirees wasting their pension on slot machines this is the place for you! Depressing. Two stars for the beautiful drive there.
NOT the real Cripple Creek! Brings you to a dirt road on a cliff!!! Do NOT use for GPS!

Hole in wall with amazing burgers and service. Just passing through and will always stop here from now on. Best burger and amazing onion rings ever!
Great prices for the area and great customer service! Shop local!!
My burger was sooo good, and the fries were Delicious!
Best place for a thick burger and a beer.
Good cheeseburger. Fries were HOT and greasy but good! Older friendly guy took order, Old buildings with character all along the block of Victor.
MY FAVORITE HOLE IN THE WALL
All for going small and trying out the local joints, but unfortunately this will be my one and only time here. Watched the staff handle cash, smoke out front and mess with hair and not wash their hands before preparing the families food. Food health and safety is a serious matter.
It’s VERY obvious that if you’re not local, you’re trash.
Walked in, was glared at by everyone at the bar. Definitely didn’t feel welcome.
Asked the bartender if the kitchen was still open, he said it was but, it was going to be a while because the kitchen is “backed up”. Asked if there was a menu, bartender pointed at the other end of the bar “Over there…” He wouldn’t even make eye contact.
Wasn’t a fan of the tone that was conveyed. Made me feel like I was hindering and bothering them. The place is dirty AF to boot.
I didn’t stay. I went and found food in Cripple Creek.
These tiny towns act like they have enough wiggle room to be rude, and lose out on money.
Food was not too great. Server didn’t give me a check but gave me an amount. Gave her a card and she gave herself a 20% tip because there were two adults and five kids. Everytime I asked her a question her answer was we are a small bar. She never refilled anything or asked us anything. Her tip should have been 5%. They charge you extra for about everything. I feel sorry for the people who say they have the best burgers anywhere. Must not have traveled much.
Clark is truly a Piano Wizard! As the pianist with a professional chamber music ensemble, the quality of his work is absolutely essential to my musical well-being.
Willing to answer your questions and give you guidance with the good, the bad and the ugly!!!
