I still love this place from when I used to go in and “demo” guitars back in the ’70’s. I took my old Strat out of storage a few months ago and had MG set it up. Very fair price and quality job.
More recently I went in to get a chord book and Russ gave me a 1/2 hour music theory lesson most of which was WAY over my head but useful and informative and included with the price of the book. This is a guy who’s extremely knowledgeable and likes to share his knowledge.
The shop hasn’t been the same since the fire, but it’s still a destination for the faithful and a great local business to support.
Surely one of the finest collection of serious acoustic guitars I’ve ever encountered. Just purchased a beautiful Taylor 710. Easy to work with. Friendly staff. If you want great gear, go here.
Great prices, great selection, friendly service.
Nice music instrument business, i believe it is a very important thing to do because of churches and other places that need music instruments. Good business, wishes them luck
You can find what you may need
Lots of old gear. Hard to navigate with stuff in the isles. Still, I’ve found some good deals there.
Clutter. Seems to only be concerned about making the sale.
I had the unfortunate experience of doing business with the Music Guild. I brought in a vintage amp for repair. I got it back, and some of the issues were solved, but it was still having severe problems, to the point of being unplayable. I told them this, and their response was “well we can take another look at it if you want.” Great, I can spend more money to not have a working amp. Anyway, I’ll paste in the email I just got from an ACTUAL amp tech about what he did to repair the amp. This is the section of that email that describes the mess inside the amp:
“Repaired broken leads inside the reverb tank – that restored operation. Cleaned controls & tube pins, got rid of some noise there. AC plug was falling off the cable so now you have a new one. Replaced leaky caps serving output tube control grids. And then there was the hi voltage filter cap kluge – new Sprague caps were added in parallel to the old filter caps. And arranged in a semi haphazard way. Though taped to the old caps, they were swinging around a bit, and that’s an invitation to break off. Also caps temp rated at 65C were parked above the power transformer and over power resistors which would probably bake them past their temperature limit.”
It’s possible that some of this shoddy work was done by or on behalf of a previous owner. Even if that’s the case, why didn’t the Music Guild fix this?
I’ve also had the pleasure of having them swap the pickups of a guitar I bought from them, to find that the pickups were out of phase with each other.
Stay away. Stay far, far away.
3. I C Video & Music

This is the most wonderful place! My son has been taking piano lessons here for 10 years. He has become quite a musician and developed a great love of music.
Over the past 6 years Music Learning Center has proven to be an invaluable resource. My daughter began with violin and guitar lessons one summer. The caliber of teachers is of the highest quality, carefully vetted by the Music Director, and the passion and enthusiasm of their craft is readily apparent. When my daughter requested lessons in voice and piano, MLC was the first place I contacted. Knowing without a doubt that whichever teacher on their staff fit our busy teenager’s schedule, made the choice a no-brainer.
The Music Learning Center is an amazing place to learn as well as further your music education. The staff and faculty are not only extremely professional but also nurturing. Students come first! After working for a New York City music school for 25 plus years, I have been nothing less than totally impressed with my son’s positive experience learning piano at this wonderful school!
5. Guitar Center

After trying to play my sister’s acoustic guitar that she was letting me borrow, I realized that it was too big for me. I stopped into this store because I was looking for a smaller sized guitar that would be easier for me to play as a beginner. I was immediately greeted by Alex who was extremely helpful and showed me what my options were. He gave me a lot of space to try out some different options in the room where all the acoustics are. I ended up walking away with a beautiful baby taylor and it is so much easier for me to play. I love it so much and couldn’t be happier with the choice. I really appreciate Alex’s help and the help of the two other employees that interacted with me at checkout. I will be back soon! Thank you!
The best store
Amazing staff……..
Emocionante visita-la
Mundo mágico musical. Só deixa a desejar no atendimento.
Smaller the the Guitar Center that I’m used to, but it’s great to have one nearby.
Nice people they want to help. Never have any drummer accessories. I check the site and this store never has anything. Always has to be ordered. If you show up they may have one it’s a demo unit and stuffs missing. Every. Single. Time. Terrible I have to drive an hour to a location that has equipment.
I was pawned off 2 x, by 2 different employees before getting help. I had a simple question. Joe the cashier was the only helpful and polite person I encountered.
I’ve purchased 3 guitars from here and the latest 2 purchases were a nightmare in customer experience and service. They had the guitar shipped to the store and had the amp in stock but wouldn’t give it to us since we ordered the amp online and it hadn’t arrived yet. When the amp did arrive they didn’t give us the cables that were part of the bundle. Wasted 3 hours in driving to this place. Completely inflexible customer experience

Anthony is an amazing teacher and has very good ways of portraying the material to the student so that it is easier to comprehend.
I’ve been taking guitar lessons here for five months and intend to stick around for many more. The quality of instruction is superb. Anthony is excellent at tailoring my lessons to where my interests lie. I’d highly recommend taking lessons here!
Anthony is a fabulous teacher. He is patient and concise in his instruction. I have been playing for awhile, but wanted more comprehensive instruction in theory. Anthony has provided this. I would recommend ART Guitar to anyone at any level of experience.

I have had the fortune of having Anh as my teacher both in person when she lived in NYC and now on-line/virtually since Covid. My goal in taking piano lessons has been in part, to have more music appreciation. But Anh is excellent in teaching piano playing, with practical techniques and dynamic expression. She’s taught me to play pieces that I never imagined I could ever play. Thank you Anh!
Anh is a wonderful teacher. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly very patient. A very good teacher for complete beginner.
Miss Anh is an excellent teacher. She is a great pianist. Really understand how to make piano enjoyable to learn and play. My daughter enjoys learning with her very much.
Anh is a great pianist. She knows a lot and is committed for perfection. She really made great emphasis on posture, hand movements, and finger movements.
Good atmosphere and good teachers with experience.

All kinds of wonderful musical events going on throughout the year.
“Centre” is the spelling, not that it really mattres, am I rite?
Incredible resource in our area. Love music? There are fabulous concerts presented by world class musicians. Play an instrument? Every level of playing is supported by three orchestras! Sing? There’s a concert chorus. Chamber music intensive week is my favorite- Julliard trained teachers who have active international careers coach you and play concerts all week! It’s an unbelievable experience! Thanks to Paul Frucht, composer!
What a great old gem this place is
Older building and worn down a bit, but just fine for our child’s small performance recital.
Good place for music, elevator is really slow.

Very friendly and knowledgeable personal.
Thanks to Sarah, I was able to get a mouthpiece while being 2.5 hours away from home on a gig where I left my mouthpiece pouch. Came through in the clutch for me with a shew lead piece.
Just stopped by quick. Had a great hour. They are the best
