We hired Ravi to play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He was simply wonderful! A true professional artist. He was quick to respond to the booking inquiry and during the event coordination.
His playing was a highlight and added greatly to the ambiance. So glad we booked with Ravi and hope to hear his playing again soon! Highly recommend Ravi!
Ravi was amazing! He’s a talented musician and a great guy! He made our ceremony on the North Shore so special and accommodated the requests we had. Thanks again, Ravi! Hope to see you again soon!
Ravi is great! He played ukulele for our event and was very responsive and even learned a new song at our request. The music was beautiful and made the day more festive and memorable. Thanks again, Ravi!

Good selection of new and used instruments and very helpful staff
Excellent service! Great deals. Very knowledgeable.
Owner was really nice and helped me pick out a good priced guitar. He always showed me the difference between bass and electric when I told him i was a newbie.
Helpful staff but mostly cheaper instruments.
I liked the shop.
Like the name, these are really good guys, love their biz and it shows.
Very unhelpful. Asked what ibwas looking for, didnt even look at me. I was looking for hand percussion, drums. Was told he only had egg shakers. There was a drum in the window, and two in front of me. I just figured maybe they weren’t for sell.
I am a repeat customer and always enjoyed the friendly service. I have bought several baritone ukuleles of various value and was always satisfied. However, today I spoke with Chris? And confirmed that I wanted to purchase the cheaper of the two that he said they have. At 4:30 pm I called him to let him know that I was on my way. He stated that they were filming inside the store but he would meet me outside and said “I got you” I thanked him. When I got there he informed me that he sold the ukulele!!! I was visibly bummed. He said that the customer had the ukulele in his hand and he didn’t want to tell him no. I asked if they still had the more expensive one ($500) nah was ($200) for real. He said yup, so I told him I would purchase it. I went to the ATM and even paid the additional fee because he said would be more convenient so I said sure. I got back just as he was coming from the back. Ukulele in hand, no case or box or receipt. He even threw in a tuner. I was stocked. In my excitement I tried to tune it as soon as i got to my car. Was having difficulties from the very start. Eventually even with the tuner. Really bummed. I ripped the strings right off the uke. Even burned the tuner with my altered torch. Luckily it was enough to destroy the tuner. If I am not able to get a replacement one, even if it’s cheaper one then I will be handling this matter between Chris and myself(Scott T Kurosu). I was very impressed by Chris’s quick response. I was able to go down the very next day and after hearing my feeliepairedengs about the situation he offered to replace my uke. However I would have to wait for the next delivery. I asked him if he could repair my uke, nothing fancy just as long as it works. He repaired it and also gave me $100 out of his own pocket. I am very grateful and happy. Thank you Chris Aloha & god bless
Definitely don’t listen to any of the haters below, I go to this store every time I am on Oahu because its the best music store I have been to in my life! I have been playing ukulele for around 20 years now. Always loved it but kind of hit a flat spot after having kids and career stuff going on. Anyways, I talked to owner there about how hard it is to find people to jam with. Just a casual conversation. So he mentioned this newer technology of a looper pedal. Since i was starting from scratch, and all I had was a 20 year old kamaka with a pick up in it, sky was the limit. He picked the brains of some of his crew. After a very in depth question and answer exchange, it seemed the obvious choice was a Roland AC33 amp with a built in looper in the amp. When I got this amp plugged in at my house it blew my mind! I couldn’t believe how much fun it was. I literally went from playing maybe like once a month to daily. I had to mount my ukulele on the wall for easy access. Anyways my point being , these guys understands the average musician. I didn’t feel like I had to be some pro to get my point across. They didn’t “oversell” me, it was exactly what I needed to get my passion back for jamming, a virtual jam session with yourself. Just lay down a chord progression and then pick instrumentals over the top!!! If you have questions, give these guys a call, you never know could change your whole perspective on an instrument that has been sitting in your house for 20 years!!
I when in to buy 3 LPs conga heads but they only had 1 he told me try this one didn’t fit. Also purchased Yamaha 5 string electric bass perfect

poor advise bad service
Man was I happy to find this place. Its like Guitar Center with a family owned showroom atmosphere. Very personable staff. Always happy to see you walk in. Wont get annoyed with your questions. They really try and help you find what you want when you are indecisive. They have everything you need, their floor is laid out nice and convenient. Ive never had a bad interaction with anyone that works there. I’ve been to both locations here on oahu.
If you shop here, pray your transaction is smooth enough not to require manager assistance. This guy values the importance of winning a fight over keeping present and potential customers. His arrogant personality, cocky confidence, and childish name calling (yes, he actually went to name calling) has turned me off this store and has motivated me to tell my friends and family not to shop here or any of their other locations. When we asked who his boss was, he refused to provide contact information.
I will take my business elsewhere, along with anyone else I can take with me.
On black friday sales , there was no discount on the 58 michrophones, even if I was going to buy 2 of them, they wouldnt even supply a chord , I went else where and bougth these items, the store should bend a little in there pricing
Easy Music sold me a guitar looper.
For some reason the sim card kept popping out and it would not function correctly. I tried my best to figure out the problem however to no avail.
When i returned about 2 weeks later +/- they tried it out and said it was not working correctly. They told me that i was responsible to return it to the company and get it repaired. mind you i never got to really use it. When i contacted the company they told me that easy music should have given me a replacement on the spot no questions asked. To sum it up they suck I will never shop there again. I am a 20 year customer

Music Center Of Hawaii is a local music store providing equipment, supplies, and repairs to our local music community for band and orchestras musicians. The service is friendly, reliable, and they will accommodate your needs to the best of their abilities! Music Center is fairly well stocked with instruments and supplies, and they will take the time to order for you whatever they don’t carry at that
time. Highly recommended!!
Friendly staff that looks for your intetest.
Very friendly, very affordable!!
Really great store.
They don’t buy used instrument
I didnt know you can’t be laughed at cause you didn’t have enough cash on you … How low class can you be ….
The community at Gather Cowork & Events, where Sounds Better is housed, brings an uplifting experience and reinvents a refreshed energy to what has traditionally been a spotlit, timed, and pressured studio interaction. At SBS, it is a lot more relaxed and has a talk story around the table kind of feel. Audio, 3-point videography, and advanced editing are all services offered. I’m lucky to be a part of this studio and connect with the incredible entrepreneurs, audiobook recorders and writers, content creators, health advocates, and start up businesses that make up this space.
15. ʻUkulele Friend
Address: By Appointment Only, 3555 Harding Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816 , East Honolulu , Hawaii , United States
Saw this place in the Hawaiian Airlines in-flight magazine, Hana Hou Magazine and had to check it out. The showroom is amazing! Very classy feel with some of the best full custom ukuleles in the world and from builders that I never even knew existed. Professional and friendly service and if you’re in to vintage ukes, this place is better than most museums…
Saw my dream Cornerstone ukulele on their website and couldn’t wait to see it in person. The owner (Shawn) went out of his way to meet me over the weekend and gave me all the time necessary to evaluate the instrument. I felt very welcome and flew back home with my dream ukulele the next day. While I had my mind set on this particular ukulele this place has many custom and one of a kind instruments from the best luthiers in the world. An amazing experience to see and enjoy these instruments first hand.
16. Dan’s Guitars
Address: 2000 S Beretania St. # B, Honolulu, HI 96826 , East Honolulu , Hawaii , United States
Dan’s Guitars are amazing! We had been to other locations that were unable to help us with our needs. I came across Dan’s Guitars online and saw that they had a chat service. We were able to text someone late at night, who replied and answered all of our questions. They offered great advice specific to what we were looking for, as well as other options. Would definitely recommend Dan’s Guitars for all of your guitar needs
Excellent detailed service. Dan does an outstanding job setting up my acoustic guitars. Very friendly service!!!
I have always gone to this place for guitars and guitar stuff since I was a kid I love the place and the people and this will always be my favorite guitar shop
Quick visit. Helpful, friendly staff. I did not purchase anything here because they did not have the specific guitar I was looking for. It was for a present, so I could not wait a month for the order to come in. Pretty good selection though if you’re just browsing.
Small and cramped shop, but friendly and helpful staff. They sell used gear on consignment here. I kind of wish that they would just buy it outright. After having Dan’s hold onto my used guitar for several months without it selling, I had to pick it back up from them and take it to Guitar Center to sell instead.
Bought 2 carbon fiber guitars here. I have known Dan since the 1980s. He has a lot of instruments, amps, ect. He has new and used music equipment and does some repairs. All the local musicians hang out there. Has some good deals as well. Has a large variety music equipment.
Had two patch cables made for 40 bucks while I was here/on the road playing. I’m not sure what was wrong with them but when used on my board my volume was cut in half and none of drive pedals worked properly. I’ve been playing professionally full time for two years and part time for 12. This was discovered that night at the gig in front of 500 people. I called and no answer. Left a message no call back. Messaged on facebook no message back. Emailed no email back. Avoid.
I walked in and asked for a bass tuner. I’m not the most experienced musician. He told me that it doesn’t matter if it’s a bass tuner or a general tuner. Turns out, it very much does matter, and I am now out $20. They will get you in and out quick, but make sure you know your stuff before you walk in or they will take advantage.
Went in here to get a new guitar so I could start leaning how to play. I decided on a preowned guitar. It was labeled and sold to me as a Fender Stratocaster. After my friend checked it out when they were visiting they discovered that it was actually a squire and worth a fraction of what I paid at the store. I brought it in to talk to a worker about it. I came in asking for it to be verified and if it is found to be a squire scam then I was going to ask for a refund. I explained my dilemma to the worker and was met with what seemed to be a smug attitude. He insisted that it was a genuine strat but said that he would have Dan, the store owner, give it a look. He also explained to me that this was part of a consignment sale which I was not notified at all in store. I came back after Dan had time to give it a look and he agreed with me that it was in fact a squire and whichever employee received it had failed to verify its quality. That employee was the one that sold it to me and the one I had spoken to prior. Dan had then offered to sell it as consignment for me, but that I wouldn’t be able to get near what I paid since it’s not worth that much, or he could give me store credit towards a replacement. I asked for a refund since this was a case of misadvertisement and nearly fraud. He denied this as it was a consignment sale, which I’ll reiterate that I wasn’t notified of that at time of sale. Contrary to his employee, Dan was understanding and I would say he is the only reason to go to the store. He’s obviously passionate about music and spreading that joy to others. I was looking for a fender Stratocaster since I was new and I knew little to nothing about guitars. He showed me a guitar that was at the value of the store credit. He said it was a Japan made Fender Stratocaster. I was grateful and given new breath to learn the instrument. After further inspection it turns out to be an ESP Grassroots. Once again, worth far less than what it was at the store. Now I am out a lot of money and no longer have an interest in learning music. I would prefer to have my money back bur considering how I was treated it seems like scams go over better than legitimacy in the overall of this shop. I hope it gets better.
