Jacob’s Music offers a wide range of pianos and other instruments. Their quality piano selection is outstanding, and easily one of the best in the, if not the best, in South Jersey. The store staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Yes, they’re salespeople, but they don’t drive you crazy. Jacob’s also hosts many, excellent, concerts that are highly recommended for any classical music fan. My wife and I have seen several amazing performances there.
Bruce was such a help. I explained how often I play the piano and my skill level. He saved me a great deal of time as I didn’t have to sit down and tryout every piano in the showroom. Great selection, by the way. I would absolutely recommend Jacobs Music in Wilmington.
Incredibly knowledgeable, honest and helpful. Thankful for Bruce, the Rinaldi’s, and everyone at Jacobs for helping me to select these beautiful pianos for my studio. I would recommend Jacobs to all of my students and anyone else as well!
Less than pleasant staff
Just in there and the man working was incredibly rude. Would never buy a piano from here.
I’ve been there a few times and always find something to go home with.
A quaint store adjacent to Silverside road that is surprisingly big. It’s filled with antiques, memorabilia, records and more! It was our first time ever there but totally worth the trip.
Fun place to explore and find a treasure
No budget section decent prices, lots of popular classic rock. Out of my price range but worth it if you commonly shop for records $10 or more.
Good collection

They are very quick to respond to email inquiries and very courteous at all stages of the process. Worth the trip!
Very beautiful instruments. Teal is great!
Teal restored 3 violins from the collection at the Sanderson Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
His claim to fame at the Sanderson Museum is an early Suzuki violin, c. 1914 that was discovered in a barn under the hay, in 3 pieces, covered with barn dirt and old rosin.
His skill in restoring the violin so beautifully and virtually invisibly was nothing short of brilliant!
Great service, however quite slow (or unresponsive) to emails.
Got a great price on a mark bass amp trade in a bunch of my stuff..
Wow, anything you need is here. Great music store and fun to be able to try out the selections. Awesome fun.
Wasn’t here very long, as I knew what I wanted before I arrived. The people seemed helpful though and I really like the spaces they have dedicated for you to try instruments. The outside lights are pretty dead and with neighboring stores that have been closed down, the store doesnt look like it’s open. Then when you walk inside it does give you a creepy vibe and not very welcoming to women. I definitely would not go back to this store alone. Store could use some working lights a bit of a revamp.
之前没有进过老美的乐器商店,老多的吉他,去崩吉他弦立等可取
Smaller then other ones I’ve been to, and was hard to get service. But when we did they were nice. Got a pretty good deal on a drum set.
One of the store attendants namely Tyler seeing that we had a big order to pick up excused us after bringing some of the items to the front left us to attend to another customer.
After about 40 minutes standing at the front Of the store without assistance and Tyler chatting with another customer, another attendant namely Trey came to ask if we needed help. Trey helped us check our order and went to bring the remaining items in our order that Tyler had left at the back.
Even though Trey apologized on behalf of Tyler, I must admit Tyler’s behaviour was rude and unacceptable as a customer care associate at guitar center. A supervisor needs to talk to him and also train him on customer relations.
once again a music store gets the “store” part wrong, I ordered a drum set online, with same day pickup, if ordered by 3pm great!. the problem is that there is a verification processes that guitar center does and it take longer than one day (I used pay pal there was no need to verify) I receeived and confermation email both from guitar center and pay-pal. I called the next day to complain and find out when I could pickup my items, I was hung-up on (it was not just a disconnected call because the agent did callback and I did not yell or use foul language). remember we are customers that can shop anywhere, guitar center needs to do a better job.
Terrible visit. Associates seemed as though they couldn’t be bothered talking to me. I asked for a particular piece of equipment but was told that what I was looking for doesn’t exist(although it does). Then rather than actually telling me where the section was, they just pointed with no effort. Would never go back to this location.
I rented a saxophone here. Great service and very nice staff. I can totally recommend this place.
Excellent customer service and good price’s.
Employees were very helpful and patient
Wonderful store
They only sell small ticket items in store, but they will order whatever you want.
My oldest came here for lessons and we purchased an intermediate trumpet back in 2019 that we were very happy with. Fast forward to 2022-23. First we bought a Yamaha intermediate trombone but the mouth piece was missing so they gave us a replacement “in kind”. This fall he dropped it on the ground and ovaled the shaft. This is where the fun begins. I drive the 30 min to the store and ask for a replacement, but they can’t find the sale in their system. I remembered the issue with the missing mouthpiece and the replacement. Unfortunately the clerk couldn’t get the internet to work to verify the size and sold us the large shank. Wrong! So now I have to spend another hour there and back just to return it. Amazon was more helpful but a search revealed that the “in kind” replacement from a year ago was a cheap version and the wrong size. They got me twice. Thankfully this is the last kid so I won’t have to go there again.
Music? I don’t think so. I really can’t describe it. They seem to make their money renting kids instruments for a fortune. They do offer lessons by local musicians and have a lot of sheet music. If you’re looking to buy an instrument, go to Accent Music farther west on Kirkwood. That’s a music store!
This low rating is not a reflection of the Kirkwood Highway store personnel but rather Music & Arts Corporate and their “customer service”. We have been a customer of the store for years including lessons, instrument purchases and instrument service and repair. Everyone we’ve ever dealt with IN THE STORE has been lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. At the beginning of the summer we signed up for weekly lessons for half of June plus July and August in preparation for marching band season. I cancelled, in store, (on August 13th)our weekly lesson effective end of August and specifically requested that the auto debit be cancelled effective immediately as we had already paid for August. In spite of that we were charged for lessons for the month of September. I called the store immediately and was told they had cancelled the lessons on their end but were experiencing issues with a new company-wide system. They put through a request for a refund that day. After a week I called the store again and told them the money had not been refunded. They assured me it had been reported to corporate and that was all they could do from their end. Today I called the corporate number and experienced the worst possible customer service. The woman was cranky and short with me right off the bat and would only tell me that a refund would take 4 weeks. When I asked why she said, “that’s our policy”. She had not bothered to ask my name, my location or any dates. When I requested confirmation that the refund was in process she reluctantly took my information and treated me like I had interrupted her lunch break. And then, she told me she couldn’t tell me anything, had no idea if my refund request had been made, told me to wait 4 weeks and call back. When I said that wasn’t a good enough answer she told me I’d have to call the store. So, total waste of time, including the 15 minute wait on hold. I did call the store back and though they were apologetic they could not do much as they have no control over the refund process. Kevin, the store manager, took all my info again and said he would email the lesson coordinator and his district manager and would let me know if he had any further information. I understand this has happened to a number of customers which is outrageous. In this day and age how can a large corporation not be able to timely cancel an auto deduction or at least have a system to log refund requests and be able to tell you if the request has been received? Further, why the hell would it take 4 weeks to refund my money? Absolutely unacceptable. I can’t imagine we would deal with Music & Arts again and certainly would not recommend the company which is a shame because the employees and teachers are great. Seriously, who wants to deal with illegitimate automatic deductions from your bank account???For that matter who wants to loan M & A’s $150. (interest free) for a month at a time??? Imagine if you had 2 or 3 students and were out $300-400 for that amount of time?!? Ridiculous!
They keep charging me after I made the payment over a month ago by phone. Their main office doesn’t communicate efficiently with their stores and vice versa. They claim they can’t see a transaction history of my payment even though it’s RIGHT on my bank account and cleared. I offered to bring a copy of my bank statement and they always say they’ll follow up and don’t. It is incredibly annoying and frustrating to have to deal with something so menial in such a poor manner. They keep sending me collection letters for something I PAID! If this hits my credit because they can’t communicate effectively I will be sure to make a HUGE deal.
15. Accent Music Inc
Address: 5810-A, 5810 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808 , Edgemoor , Delaware , United States
Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Have used Accent 2 years in a row to rent band instruments. They are reasonable and have quality products.
Fabulous service!!
Easy in and out, knowledgeable sales associates
Staff is awsome !
Nothing to write home about, but I did have a nice conversation with two of the guys that worked there and they shared some interesting insights on the manufacturing sales evolution over time, as well as dealing with other countries for business transactions.
Nice instrument’s, specially warwick basses. Some good Boss pedals, one guy part of the staff not too nice though. They could do better receiving customers. Closing the doors of the music school on your face doesn’t seem like a charming or effective welcoming strategy.
They tend to charge list price, but will usually come down to comparable prices if you argue with them. They frequently don’t have what I’m looking for, but they get 2 stars for a total lack of other options in Delaware. Better off driving to the larger competitors in Cherry Hill, NJ.
This place is only good for school music rentals. Staff is not knowledgeable , instruments are over price and customer service is less then desirable. Stores are broke down and dangerous. Shop elsewhere….
Called up with interest of purchasing a 3K-4K guitar they had online. Was willing to buy immediately. They were rude, short, and unorganized and actually acted like they didn’t have time to discuss it). I’m glad I didn’t purchase or move forward. You would think if someone was in the business of selling guitars for a living that a purchase “that large” would take priority over …I don’t know, selling $10 Ernie Ball Strings? or music CD’s.
Claimed they were ESP vendor, yet weren’t on the approved list (this info is available on ESP’s site). Wouldn’t send images of guitar close ups either (as opposed to hard to see online thumbnail). Red flags all point to some questionable practices going on here. Would recommend buyers to look elsewhere, and not take a chance with your $ here – too many fakes online, and sketchy practices – lots of legitimate guitar buying systems online as alternatives. Just because a seller has a web page, doesn’t mean that the purchase is legit . If you are checking reviews before purchase, then I am saving you time, money, and hassle – nothing to see here – move on!

Rich hooked us up a great record player and a few of our favorite records to start our collection. Best record store in Delaware!!!
Such a great record store – Wonderful selection of jazz and fusion, and the staff are friendly and really help find what you’re looking for
Great service and selection.
Good service, good selection, and good quality vinyls
Very nice selection, good tunes on.
Gave me a decent price on my used stereo equipment. Rick is a great guy.
Wasted trip. Called a few days ago about servicing a turntable. Gentleman said a $50 fee if they have to send out. Showed up today and although worker had awesome attitude, all answers were “I don’t know” “I’m not sure”. In fact, she apologized for “sounding unprofessional”. Then asked about purchasing a speaker, but she couldn’t help with that either. Very dissatisfied.
