Understand you fully, but it was not rudeness. I called and asked there hours for Saturday, and I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about. I took my mom there the next day to pay for her piano and I immediately understood. The woman, the owner is 96 years old and can’t communicate too well on the phone. She even asked me to run her credit card machine since she didn’t know how. In my opinion, and I’m nobody special, but I will bet all I own against your ham sandwich, that this lady needs to be active. If she sat at home, she would have faded away years ago.
I recently called asking if they sold a certain piano made in the ’70s. The woman who answered was very rude, kept cutting me off while I was trying to ask a simple question, and then hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. I will never purchase anything from there in the future. It was the worst customer service I have ever received.
I have all my guitar related stuff done here – repairs, re-wiring, set up, string change, changing pots, swapping pick ups. Neil Young the repair man is just great. All the staff are very helpful.
Art’s is our go to place for all things music. We have purchased 2 guitars, 2 saxophones, and a baritone from them. The employees are patient and helpful, and very knowledgeable about their products. We love Art’s!
Well stocked and organized with music of all sorts. Employees are patient and don’t mind helping.
Not a happy place , they hardly acknowledge your presence. Put a guitar on layaway and the girl behind the counter was extremely rude when I came in to make a payment, I forgot they charge 15.00 if you want to use a card and I said sounds like it a tax scam . She said I didn’t have to come there, my layaway is Seven hundred dollars, maybe a little respect would go a long way. Last purchase I’ll make with these people.
Update : okay I went back today and my experience was much better.
I definitely over reacted on my last visit, I still feel a little slighted by the girl saying I didn’t have to come there.
That said Art’s is a fine store .
They have great inventory but are very over priced. I went to get some 20 dollar mallets and they coated 50 in there
The level of customer service you receive really depends on who you speak to at the company. Some do not understand customer service while others go above and beyond to help you out.
If I could put no stars I would. The rep came to our school through a teacher that was associated with this company. I was not prepared for the overwhelming over priced instruments thrown at me. Being strapped in budget and wanting my kid to do well, we settled for the “cheapest” model, which was still $3000. It was a very battered and very used saxophone. Don’t get scammed!
I will never do any business with this place again I have had enough
I hate this shop. I have paid an exorbitant amount of money for this stupid clarinet that my daughter plays at school. It’s hard to set up payments. Do not like!!!!! Uggggh, I cannot wait until this is over
6. Baruch Depot (formerly the Union Station Baggage House)
Matt set up two of my guitars recently and did an excellent job. If you need guitar work, Matt is your guy.
Matt is the man and still the only tech I let touch my guitars. We moved away but Tweed is one of the places I make a point to stop in at every time I’m back in town.
Tweed is the best music store in the universe! I cant say enough about Tweed. Honest, extremely knowledgeable with top shelf quality and customer service that is absolutely second to none. I highly recommend Tweed to everyone!
Very cool place.
9. Bailey Brothers Music Company
Address: 231 E Jefferson St, Montgomery, AL 36104 , Elmore County , Alabama , United States
The staff here is great. They are VERY knowledgeable. I brought in an amp to get serviced and you could tell the guy (can’t remember his name, sorry!) really knew what he was talking about. Also, Jason helped me pick an amp and guitar out, he was super patient and also extremely knowledgeable. He was able to answer literally any question I had. Go check these guys out!
Great music store. Knowledgable staff and good selection of gear.
Top Quality Products;
Peavey Electronics Gear is One Of My Favorite Products!
Lots of instruments. Knowledgeable staff who are willing to help. Try here before you go to guitar center. Be warned seems like some of their prices are kind of high.
The manager was very helpful & the prices were very reasonable on what we were looking for!
Told the repair guy I was on my way. When I got there he had left. I was going to wait until the two employees I talked to just laughed instead of apologizing. I went to Lisenby’s in Prattville and they took care of everything.
I have supported Bailey Bros. since I was a kid, but it’s time for the Montgomery store to be put out of its misery.
I usually try and call in before I go into the store and these guys usually sound like they don’t really have time for that. Quick to get off the phone, I ask a question and they respond with one word and are very blunt and just overall just seem to be uninterested in what you as the customer wants unless you’re trying to buy.
10. Guitar Center
Address: 2572 Eastern Blvd, Montgomery, AL 36117 , Elmore County , Alabama , United States
Good place for some great gear! They have some bargains if you shop.
One of my favorite places to shop for all my music equipment. Covid has ran all the prices up but they still have a great selection of gear. Needed for any event.
The staff was so helpful, courteous, and on spot with knowledge. Thanks Guys !!!
Nobody knows much, small selection …
Very Good
I just needed some guitar strings but the store was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
At 9 am not many donuts are left not a good coffee choice. My coffee was lukewarm.
Myself and another gentleman were waiting for help forever no one came only person I saw was playing on their phone so I approached and said I guess you don’t want my business and proceeded to go buy speakers at Bailey Bros. Not sure what the gentleman I was in there with did. I have had to search for help before there, so nothing new but this was the worsed!
Very honest and very friendly owner. Mr. Gibbs is the best!! Always treats you right!! Thanks for being a great place to buy musical instruments and gear.
When you say oldies but goodies here you go The owner has a great spirit warm and welcoming I really enjoyed my experience I really appreciate him
Mr. Gibbs is a gift to our community! Not only does he provide excellent customer service, he also has been very encouraging to my son, who plays Saxophone in his high school band! I would not do business with anywhere else!!
Very friendly and helpful
13. LISA PERKINS & THE E-LUSION BAND
Address: 20 Sandy Springs Dr, Wetumpka, AL 36092 , Elmore County , Alabama , United States
Excellent knowledge and customer service.
100% would recommend for any guitar sales, service, or any of your other musical needs.
I’ve known Andrew for the majority of my time as a musician, which is about eight years. I have never been unsatisfied or unhappy with anything I’ve purchased from him or any setups on my guitars he has set up for me.
He is a very kind guy who is well-rounded on musical instruments as a whole. He is also a very patient mentor to his students. I wholeheartedly recommended Andrew for anything music related.
Very helpful
