I’ve been buying instruments from Two Street Music for over twenty years. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They are a full line shop with a good selection of new and used gear. Their prices are always fair and they are never up tight about customers trying out the instruments.
Mantova’s a great guy just to chat with and his music shop is a good place to stop in and kill some time you can get a couple of lessons there I don’t remember what for though have fun making sounds into music
Staff is very friendly and nice. They know about the products they sell, plus the prices are very fair like what you would pay off Amazon
Good products. Good location. Decent acoustic selection. And I love that they let me play the guitars, amps, & pianos without any argument. {And oh boy that black & white is nice!} However…i just can’t seem to shake the feeling that the employees there are a bit on the snooty side. I WOULD say that, maybe it’s just me. I WOULD. But one day, a few years ago, they actually laughed right in my face when i asked them what a thunderbird was. All I got back was, ‘it’s a car!’ And some group laughter. { I knew it was a guitar, i just didn’t know what it looked like. Or who made it. Or The shape}. But, i digress… If it weren’t for that, I’d buy all my equipment there.
Best music store in humboldt.
Eureka’s main music store which has a variety of musical instruments.
terrible experience dealing with these people. the owner is dishonest and behaves like a thug.
Your website says you are open. So I drove into town. You’re closed. Yes covid 19. But update your site plz so that people don’t drive to eureka only to realize it was a waste of time and gas.
I have a very expensive Martin D-42 and binding was loosed in a small area. I took my guitar in a guitar shop in Arcata. But they had referred me to a professional luthier. I went Mantova’s Two Street Music thinking it could be an easy fix. They had glued the binding but damaged the finish and leaving other marks on my guitar. The glue that they used specifically mentioned careful about damaging the finish. They had denied the damage and claimed the condition was pre existed. Be extremely careful dealing with this shop especially if you have high end instruments. Don’t leave your instrument with them. Their integrity is questionable.
2. Redwood Music Mart
Address: 511 F St, Eureka, CA 95501 , Eureka , California , United States
Great little store. Was able to get a sweet bass guitar for an even sweeter deal. And the black Friday experience was even sweeter then that.
Great staff, very knowledgeable and friendly. Fixed my guitar (replaced a pot) and put some pads on my saxophone in a timely manner and relatively inexpensive. Quality workmanship and good folks.
Owner has been very helpful in getting me quality instruments at a great price
It’s not Two Street Music but it’s music
Helpful and informative staff. They enjoy sharing music history and tips.
Small, nice music store! Very friendly help!
3. Friends Of Sound Records Eureka
Address: 335 E St, Eureka, CA 95501 , Eureka , California , United States
Nice store with friendly owner (and dog). First thought it was on the expensive side for jazz records until I noticed another jazz section in the middle which also had great items but at lower prices. So likely there was a different mid-tier and high-tier section.
More people should know about this place! Quality vinal, hard to find records and good rock and roll baby!!!
4. The Works
Address: 434 2nd St, Eureka, CA 95501 , Eureka , California , United States
Great selection, diverse and full of hidden gems. May not be the largest but worth digging if you’ve got the time.
Just reading these reviews, you can see how they really can’t accurately rate this place. You can come to this conclusion before going to the works. I see one giving three stars apparently because the works was closed when it should have been open. Now, I doubt they closed because they wanted to. And if they did, isnt that the Humboldt way? So you can’t take these reviews without some salt. Pink Himalayan salt even. Sea salt; the most grainy of salts.
On to my review. I have spent hundreds at the works on vinyl and I will spend hundreds more. I like the place, I like the chill atmosphere, and I feel welcomed and appreciated. They have an okay selection on vinyl. The jazz section is a gem and no one buys them but me. I would like a bigger selection still, however. That goes for all generes. I’d like a bigger new vinyl selection as well. This place, notwithstanding, gets 5 stars because these ratings mean nothing and i have no legitimate reason to give less. In my opinion, all places deserve 5 stars unless there is good reason. Id give the peoples records the same amount, yet I like their selection more overall. The works is a local business run by a local man with a life and family to support. I’ve gone there and it’s been closed for some reason. I’ve gone and I didnt like what I found and left. I came back. Five stars for a place deserving it. Now take the salt.
I always find some cool music there!
Pretty good music shop, they dont have too much of a diverse range of music. (next to no metal albums). If your into jazz, or blues this is your place. If your into Heavy Metal like me, go to People’s Records in arcata
Looked specifically for The Blues Music. They had a large selection. Owner, Bandit, can give you information on any music you are looking for. He’s a great guy.
It’s a great shop and I always look forward to going there when I’m in the area. I’ve picked up some great things in there. The only knock I have is the lack of consistent hours.
Despite it was supposed to be open until 6pm on Saturdays, place was closed before 5. So Works did not work anymore. Adjusting opening times would a good idea.
5. Eureka Music School
Address: 1023 G St, Eureka, CA 95501 , Eureka , California , United States
Felix is an amazing human, musician, and teacher. He made me feel like I could really play drums after only one lesson. I clearly need many more but am excited to get going on this adventure with him.
Had my first lesson today and Brian was great! Thought I was too old to start picking on a guitar but Brian has my confidence at an all time high. Broke things down to a very basic level and gave me some great homework to practice. I can’t wait for my next lesson.
Best school ever! Brian is the best teacher I’ve ever worked with. He takes his time with his students and has a true passion for music. Both my brother and I were super happy to be his students 🙂
One of the best audio shops anywhere, hands down. I had an awesome time looking at truly amazing and eclectic gear and getting good advice. You can’t find this kind of selection or service just anywhere. Chris really knows his stuff and takes the time to explain things well and give advice on particular gear pairings, with knowledge and experience to back it up. Sampling different setups was a joy and I appreciated getting honest advice within my budget!
There is absolutely NO REASON to buy home audio and theater equipment online or “in the city”.
Chris has the best prices that match and usually beat the lowest internet price you can find on all the latest gear. Oh, and he just happens to be a pro installer too, so you can get all that stuff set up exactly as it was intended for maximum enjoyment!
Hear your favorite music how it is supposed to be heard, get blown away by your favorite movies in the comfort of your own space, Chris can take care of everything AND get you the best price. Don’t even think about shopping anywhere else!
8. FYE
Address: 3300 Broadway St, Eureka, CA 95501 , Eureka , California , United States
I love this store!!! If you love movies, music, games, this is the store for you!
Great place for finding rare or special edition blue rays and DVDs. Awesome selection of discount movies, convenient location inside Bayshore mall. Helpful staff good deals on used titles and music CDs. They can also make a CD if any artist straight from the internet if not in stock, handy. Good store. I joined the in house discount club tho and have never gotten the magazine and found the price to be more than I ever got in additional rebates.
Best place ever!
Need a movie or CD? Then this is the place for you.
good staff, we buy a lot of shirts for my kids there
Lots to choose from, good prices, new and used.
Expensive
I just stop by to buy a movie The Vision Of Escaflowne for $140 and this guy don’t even bother to check he is like I never heard of it and he ignore me, I literally have to tell him if he didn’t want to help me if he can get someone who could help me, then he decide to help me and so bad customer service from this guy , I bet for employees like this is why people decide to go online
