Ordered a Small Rodent from DadShoeGazers and loved it so much that I ordered a second pedal, Flying pig. Couldn’t be more happy with my purchase. Would strongly recommend.

Address: 3020 Glenn Hwy, Palmer, AK 99645 , Fishhook , Alaska , United States
This place is a great addition to the Valley. They feature some locally made gear, have a good selection of parts, and some nice instruments hanging on the wall. I really appreciate the focus the owner expressed in cultivating the local creative community. He knows his stuff and has experience to back it up. I hope this is a successful venture. If you are a local musician, it’s definitely a place to check out.
Excellent music lessons, wonderful atmosphere and amazing owners
This is a great guitar shop. I’ve had Todd (owner) set up all of my instruments, and he does an excellent job. His repair/set up work is reasonably priced, and the instrument sounds and plays incredible after he has finished. I’m a gigging musician, so I’m pretty tough on my instruments, but he helps keep me on stage, and I know I can count on his support. He’s got a fairly quick turnaround time too. The only aspect of his shop I can’t comment on is purchase of new instruments, but I’ve purchased associated electronics there for installation, and he’s fairly priced there too.
It’s nice when the owner of a shop shares the wonder of guitar that never seems to leave some of us. Todd still has that, as is obvious when you bring him something to work on.
Nice assortment of guitars and stuff and Todd is awesome go in and check it out
Great place,,,good helpful staff
With excellent equipment.
Two thumbs up
Nice little music shop. Friendly owners and a pretty cool selection of guitars.

friendly employees, the people were very helpful and super kind bless their hearts
Friendly and helpful, they do what they can to assist you in everything you need.
Decent selection of guitar accessories!
No
Purchased a guitar and amp with all of the accessories for a new player. Upon picking up the guitar, the amp I picked out was sold, and another amp was put on the table with no explanation of where the other amp was. The amp was a decent brand, so I didn’t say anything, and the amp was also new. After using the amp, I had significant issues that I had to troubleshoot. Nothing worked. I returned them amp and explained what I had done to troubleshoot, and they did not want to look at it. I asked for the original amp I picked out, and the staff became angry and aggressive. I attempted to calm things down and solve the issue, but then they gave me the amp that I had originally played and asked me to leave. I will never return.
These Guys has absolutely no clue about what they’re selling/doing.
Better drive 100 miles more instead dealing with these non professional “sellers??????”
Keep you money don’t buy here

Staff was very helpful and well experienced in helping customers with tailoring their needs to ensuring customer satisfaction and service.
They were helpful an knowledgeable very pleasant n welcoming felt comfortable
I know one of the people who work here the place is great to order from if you are getting musical instruments.
Good selection, fair prices, knowledgeable staff. There is no better place in Anchorage for guitar and drum gear.
Very helpful employees in this store not only were they helpful but patient and kind. A lot of musical stuff.
Nothing but problems. Been going to this place strings and such for 16 years now, but I would say I’m officially done. Would prefer to buy local but…
Staff is unpleasant unless they think you will be spending lots of money. Not knowledgeable. Not courteous. The only thing this place has going for it is a lack of competition.
Terrible customer service. Unfriendly staff. Kind of a bummer. Good pedal selection though.
I went in looking for a guitar and asked a guy if I could check out the guitars in the humidity controlled room. His response was “You don’t want to go in there, there isn’t a guitar for less than a grand in there.”
I bought a $1000 acoustic that came with a free adjustment, cleaning and strings. I took the guitar in a year later and had to pay for strings. They said it’d be done early next week on Friday. I went in 2 weeks later and they hadn’t touched it. They said it could be up to a month to honor the free cleaning they promised. I just left with my strings and cleaned it myself.
8. Horn Doctor Music Store Inc
Address: 1000 Ingra St, Anchorage, AK 99501 , Fishhook , Alaska , United States
Amazing service, information and resources for all of your music needs. Mrs. Barbara patiently and professionally helped my 6th grader get dialed in on an instrument for her to try in band. The flute rental option was great at $30/mo and insurance for an additional $6/mo. A three month rental contract was require; that seems reasonable to me. The purchase price was also fair. They also had all the additional supplies we needed. No high pressure sales, only friendly and helpful! We will be back!
I stopped by to check out the selection and was impressed with the various instruments they had! Nice mandolins, fiddles, and guitars! Barbara and Anna were super helpful and went out of their way to assist me! The feel and attitude within Horn Doctor Music Store was amazing and I highly suggest stopping by for any musical needs!
Helpful and knowledgeable staff!! They are happy to take the time to fully answer questions. They got my special order books quickly!
got a mic from them and the cashier that day detailed which one is which…great customer service
Lots of horns and guitars
Staff have always been very helpful and kind when we’ve dropped in. I recommend Horn Doctor for renting an instrument for a 6th grader.
I agree with the previous review, went to horn doctor, they quoted me $250-500 for my sax to be repaired. Took it to Music Man, $50 and a week later, the sax sings. How does this shop justify $250-$500 when another can do fix it for $50 blows my mind.
Hello review readers, I bought a pitch pipe from here, only to get home and learn that it was defective. Like many of us up here, we do not live in the Anchorage area, thus my visits to Anchorage are saved for when there are enough things to take care of to justify the drive into town. Needless to say I did not get the pitch pipe tested at home and back in Anchorage within 7 days. This, I just learned, is the return policy for The Horn Doctor. Therefore, when I recently went into the store, told them of the defect, they tested the “D” on the piano, agreed it was not a “D” and responded, it’s outside the 7 day return window, there’s nothing we can do. There is something I can do…. warn others so that we can be careful what we buy here, as they are not willing to stand behind the products they sell.

Beautiful views and a great place to make you a better man
My sandwich was excellent. A little expensive but they do good work here with
Beautiful building and great for events
Good coffee and friendly service.
I mainly go there for Big Js BBQ catering but the whole place is lovely w a wonderful deck along back
Am awesome spot! Superior customer service, great atmosphere, great coffee!
Food was very good
So established in 2017 and the movie was in 2001.. do I even need to say more?
The food is bland and not very appealing either.
Tried the pork and brisket dried bland overcooked.
friend brought me some to try he had the bolt sandwich?
was not expecting this fancy plated food at all was expecting it to have that original typical backyard or tailgate style BBQ to it.
None of that. I wouldn’t drive the distance for food that doesn’t
even look like any passion was put into it.
If I wanted something like this but with actual care and passion and love put into it. I would have just bought a ticket and flew over to philadelphia and head straight towards and into dalessandro’s steaks. But I don’t cause I can actually make better food than what these guys push out. And no I will not even throw that out as a challenge.
But if this is what passes for food for those
who have no taste buds be my guess and have a good day

First time ever downhill skiing! I got a lesson from Jay. He was SO patient, kind, and encouraging. After my lesson, I was confident enough to tackle the green run! Beautiful view, and amazing staff.
They have a web cam so you can see the conditions in real time.
The staff was very helpful and friendly
Great spot for new skiers
Would have loved to sled here but no sledding allowed. It looked so much fun! I’m definitely going back when i can with the right equipment.
It’s new, there’s a lift, that’s about it. I’m sure other amenities will follow. Great addition to the area. I don’t know what the lift fees are. Seems like if you have a buddy who can drive ya up the hill a few miles, you can ski down for free on some groomed trails in the same general area.
Only one lift, you can ski the entire mountain in a half hour. You’re in line to get on that one lift more than you are skiing.
Doesn’t sound too great for 40 bucks. I’ll have to check ot out maybe.
13. The Music Man
Address: 4623 Old Seward Hwy, Anchorage, AK 99503 , Fishhook , Alaska , United States
Quick and helpful customer service. They opened the door for me, guided me to the area with the items I needed and answered all technical questions about the items.
They are amazing…my daughters Violin was damaged, they fixed it and let us do a one day rental for her concert. Very friendly staff.
Excellent service with friendly, very nice staff.
I bought some sheet music here.
Great selection, fairly priced.
Great place to shop for instruments in Anchorage.
When I heard of them, the people told me they had all music lessons. And all instruments, I was delighted and I went. Finding no bass’, nor bass lessons. I was highly disappointed. Their set costs $80 dollars, for 4 needed items. Not including the tuner. I’m very disappointed.
Rude staff, wish I could give them no star. I’ll never go back!
Just a comment regarding people who may wander in while waiting for their car to be finished with tires etc, just next door. It wouldn’t kill you to at least say hello. Just sayin’. I changed my mind on coming back here, as it seems you really don’t need my money.
14. Petr’s Violin Shop & Guitar Central
Address: 1408 Hyder St Unit B, Anchorage, AK 99501 , Fishhook , Alaska , United States
Great team and knowledge for a variety of stringed instruments!
Cool stuff for your string needs.
Peter is the real deal Luthier. Who else would you want working on and selling you a guitar. or any instrument. Very fortunate to have him in our town.
Best place
At least its not a viola
Was very happy they restrung a violin on the spot for the price of the string.
Watch out for hidden costs on rentals!
Went to them and they told me the cello I got from amazon was no good, wanted to sell me a 1100 cello. Went to horn doc and it was fixed.
Worst purchasing experience I’ve ever had!!! Staff is very unknowledgable and seems to be solely made up of high school students. Petr himself is very unpleasant, always seems to be in a big hurry, and is haughty as hell. Their selection of instruments is complete crap and has serious quality control issues. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!
