My kids have greatly enjoyed taking guitar/ukulele lessons at Music Authority for over a year now. George Marlow (my son’s instructor) and Lauren Isenberg/Savannah Hughes (my daughter’s instructors) have been great teachers. My son says, “George is even forgiving when I didn’t really practice that week” (something we need to work on). My daughter started out on Guitar but is now enjoying playing her Ukulele (and so is her family).
Both of my children take lessons here. Right now my son is taking drum lessons with Brett. My son really enjoys his lessons and is learning so much.
My daughter has taken guitar lessons from Savannah at Music Authority for nearly 3 years now. She’s the best! My daughter is thriving in her guitar skills and her love of music thanks to Savannah and her experiences at Music Authority. We hope to remain part of the Music Authority “family” for years to come!
Mr.Mark is my son’s Piano teacher and my son enjoys his piano lessons.
My 10 yr old daughter and I take piano lessons at Music Authority. Our instructor, Brooke, along with a lot of practice, has taken us from zero musical experience to reading and playing the piano in a few short months.
We enjoy the lessons each week and we learn something at each one. Our instructor is a gifted teacher. She changes up the lesson plans so throughout our lsns, and at home practice, we learn music theory, practice skills exercises, and learn songs. It pushes us to go further but doesn’t overwhelm.
If your looking to learn an instrument or two, this is a good place to start. Music camps and performances are offered as well. You can get as involved as you want.
I was referred to Music Authority after moving to the area and wanting to continue with my music lessons. I was a little skeptical when I arrived as I’m used to larger big box music stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center. 2 years later I’m still a happy customer. They have great instructors all with degrees in music and actively play in places of worship and/or gig professionally which was important to me. The staff is courteous and helpful and keeps me informed on what’s happening. They do have a retail merchandise space in the front of the store that offers what I’d call a light to medium selection of quality guitars, amps, drums and equipment/accessories (NOTE: no DJ/lighting equipment, keyboards, recording or HS band equipment here). It’s very convenient after a lesson to shop and pick up those must haves. I’ve bought many things including a guitar that I’m very happy with. They’re knowledgeable, stand by their merchandise and even offer special incentives that the larger stores don’t. They have a repair and service shop that I’ve yet to use but would if needed. Don’t let me forget all the things this place does for young musicians like summer rock camps, concerts, jam nights, open mic nights and more. I wish I had access to a music organization like this one when I was a kid… I’d be a better musician today if I did. Yes, I recommend this place.

Over priced compared to a lot of other music stores in the area. Only worth it if you are in a pinch.
Music Authority’s website says they offer services including instrument repairs, however, this is only a half truth. When we took our daughters clarinet here for service/repair, we were told they don’t work on band instruments, they only work on guitars. Very frustrated with these guys after this interaction. I am not likely to return to Music Authority for any of my musical needs.
3. Phil Hodges Music
Address: 1479 Ventura Dr suite b, Cumming, GA 30040 , Forsyth County , Georgia , United States
Phil is a very rare find. His musicianship is exquisite and his ability to communicate, teach, and inspire truly set him apart. Phil has become one of my favorite musicians to work with in the studio, and my admiration of his abilities has moved me to become one of his students myself!
Super patient with newer students and those new to guitar! Would definitely check out and even gives a free trial lesson.
Phil has been giving my son weekly guitar lessons for about for about 7 months now, and I can’t say enough about how good he is with my 16 year old son. He is a great teacher, always consistent and communicates well regarding the lessons. He is patient, encouraging, and really skilled as a player and teacher (which is hard to find). My son loves taking lessons with him (after being with another teacher that didn’t work). I’ve seen his interest in guitar and music in general grow tremendously since he has been studying with Phil. I highly recommend you give him a try…he’s great with all ages and skill levels. Oh yeah, and he is also very reasonably priced for what he brings to the table!

Alex is a really encouraging piano teacher. The lessons are all nicely planned out and fun. I have learned so much already and look forward to practicing every night and our lesson each week.
Excellent instruction in all facets of music. All ages and all levels of playing abilities. Very easy to work with and makes music fun. A learning experience that is wonderful.
I have been working with Alex for a couple of months and I am enjoying Piano more than I thought I would! He knows the right pace, makes sessions interesting, equips me with the knowledge to play songs independently and is always available to answer my questions. He is extremely knowledgeable in Piano and helps me play and learn Indian songs as well. I highly recommend him for any age group, you’ll be in good hands.
I was so impressed from the moment I walked into FAME. The warm and friendly greeting and atmosphere was very welcoming! The instructors that I have had the pleasure of meeting so far have all been outgoing and friendly and seemed to be well educated in their professional music backgrounds. I had the pleasure of going to a recent performance and look forward to watching more performances in 2019!! The professionalism of the instructors and owners are top notch! I highly recommend FAME; you will not be disappointed!
Excellent place, great people, awesome instructors, I highly recommend this place.
This is a nice music academy for all ages…its a bit newer and in a great location. Went there for open mic night..all ages..my daughter is 9…it has a very nice mini stage. Great lighting. All the crowd and participants were so warm inviting and nice. Get there early…it was standing room only…they are once a month open mic all ages. You can select time slot you want to perform at 🙂
13. Best Buy
Address: 2085 Market Pl Blvd, Cumming, GA 30041 , Forsyth County , Georgia , United States
The staff was amazing as usual. They didn’t realize their line was backed up but as soon as they did, they got back up to the front. Then the power went out. All in all we were in line about 45 minutes, waiting on the servers to boot back up. The sweet girl checking us out was amazing. She offered us drinks on the store and made sure we were compensated when we were finally able to check out. We didn’t expect her/them to do that. You can’t control power outages or mother nature. I would say our cashier went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and taken care of.
Helpful staff
Great service always helpful
Crowded
agradable pero no encontre lo que buscava
The employee’s were awesome
The current sales being advertised are a complete fraud. The kitchen aid mixer was never available at advertised price. Ordered and paid for an iPad, for pickup, their was over 18 in stock, on 11/25, won’t let us pickup iPad until December 4th, thats ridiculous. We did get a great buy on a mixer at Kohls.
not a professional staff or management. Bad attitude, customer service and act as if information about products are not their job..”just buy it or get out” attitude..
Spent $4000 on kitchen appliances. We are on our third exchange of a Kitchen Aid refrigerator and still don’t have one that is not damaged. Please spend the extra money to buy kitchen appliances elsewhere.

Absolutely brilliant experience with the repair of a 60in LG. He clearly understood the problem, gave me an estimate & a time frame. Fixed it a day earlier & called.
Affordable pricing & easy to deal with. Strongly Recommend Brad for any kinda electronic repairs.
Took my Vizio to Best Buy for repair and they stated that it was too hard to procure parts and to consider it a loss. Just toss it in a dumpster. That was not acceptable and I don’t give up that easily. Found this place owned by Brad and he happily took on the project. He found parts and did the repair quickly and brought my TV back to life. I have referred others to his shop since we should not treat these expensive devices as disposable and send them to landfills. Thanks again Brad
From lesson one, I was impressed by his compassion, patience, and excellent communication. Bob is not a teacher who tells you how things are; he shows you and explains things in great detail while always being considerate by asking if you have any questions (which I always do!). Each lesson is choke-full of warm ups, theory, and songs (catering to my mad woman obsession of riffs, hits, and alot of 90s :)). I leave every lesson feeling zen and elated that I’ve learned a plethora of new things about myself and music.
From day one, I knew I had made the right choice by enrolling in these piano lessons. The instructor’s expertise shone through their personalized approach, tailoring the curriculum according to my strengths and weaknesses. They made learning fun and engaging!
I’ve always wanted to improve my singing, and have been taking private singing lessons with Van. She is very kind and encouraging and I’ve learned so much in less than a year. Highly recommended even for beginners with no prior experience!
I’m thrilled with my singing lessons from this voice instructor. Their diverse genres, including acoustic singer and alternative rock, provide a well-rounded experience. Webcam lessons have made learning convenient and accessible.
