Carin is the most amazing instructor. She loves sharing music with students of all ages. She truly loves her work. She takes time with her students, and always has a beautiful smile while she teaches. She spends extra time, because she loves her work. She is never in a hurry. I mean, never!!!! She makes sure every lesson is completely understood, before you leave. My daughter is ten and is very shy. I mean extremely shy! She walked into Carin’s studio and was ready to learn. She felt completely comfortable. This says a lot, because this kid probably wouldn’t speak to the Pope!

We are really privileged to have our son under the tutelage of Prashantji who is an excellent mentor for young minds motivating them to do better everytime in various aspects of musical abilities along with life skills. He’s also blessed with immense patience which works so magically with young minds spurring their interest further. We would definitely recommend Nadyog Academy.
We are Happy to have Guruji for our son. He teaches kids with lot of passion and patience. My son really loves NaadYog .So do we .The place it self has a very positive vibe.
Incredible shop and is the best one I visited in the hartford area. I was in the market for a guitar and right when I walked in I was blown away by the setup of the shop. Super beautiful place with the warmest atmosphere. They helped me get setup with the guitar of my dreams. He spent about 30-40 minutes with me helping me find the perfect guitar. I checked out around 8 guitars he recommend me by just picking up on my play style. I walked out of the shop with a perfectly setup guitar and it’s better than I could have hoped. Please don’t hesitate to stop by this place. One of the best in the area! Thank Whole Tone Guitars!
Staff is great! Excellent selection of guitars. Love the lessons…
Beautiful guitars.! Helpful & informative staff.
Brought my guitar in for a pickup replacement and had to wait over a month for it to get done. When I picked it up it was fine, but after a few weeks of playing, the bridge pickup stopped outputting. Makes me wonder if they spent a month playing with the guitar and then did a rushed setup when I started calling them to see if it was done.
5. Music & Arts
Address: 50 Main St, East Hartford, CT 06118 , Glastonbury Center , Connecticut , United States
I took my guitar to M&A because it had gotten a bit clunky and these guys have a luthier.
Kyle, the manager, was enormously helpful in diagnosing the problem and suggesting a repair. While we were talking I looked over the guitars there and ultimately, with Kyle’s help, bought one (a wonderful Breedlove ordered from M&A’s stock). He walked me through the various options – what I needed and, more importantly, what I didn’t.
Friendly AND knowledgeable service. Great pricing on the guitar. No high pressure. Quick solutions. Best music store around.
I went to the East Hartford Music & Arts store upon the recommendation of a music teacher. Was in need of a saxophone repair to an antique student-level model. I decided to buy a beautiful entry-level professional model saxophone. The sales person was very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Quite impressed, and I absolutely love and enjoy my beautiful saxophone.
Customer service is always above and beyond. If Disney owned a music store, this would be it.
Cool place, very expensive
Good selection and price
This store was not respectful of my time or my commitment, and I cannot recommend this business to others. As busy professional with children making the commitment to return to regular practice was a significant dedication of my time. After discussions with the staff at the store we found a time and an instructor who would work for me, and with my schedule. At my first lesson the instructor was surprised to see me (although my name was on his list) and I said “I didn’t know a new student was starting today.” and “I don’t really play Bass that much…”. After a lackluster lesson which I was willing to write off as a miscommunication, I returned a week later only to find that the instructor had scheduled over my time with a different student. The staff confirmed I was on the schedule for the day. I promptly asked for my money back, including the new student fee. The manager kindly returned it, but that was the ONLY redeeming thing about my experience. All in all, this wasted about 2 hours of my life.
I had been taking lessons at this location since March 2019. One of their instructors stopped teaching in June 2019 and took the summer months off. The store called me in August to say the instructor was not returning in the Fall and my account would be closed but if I wanted to begin with a new instructor I could. To my surprise upon starting with the new instructor, my account incurred a new student fee of $30 which is out of order since I am a continuing student; I asked the store to provide a credit and they recently did so. The new student fee is inappropriate due to no fault of mine.
I recently went to the Music & Art store and asked about my child’s school instrument payment plan. We leased the instrument two years ago; but due to COVID-caused remote schooling and summer breaks, there was little use of the instrument despite monthly charges including insurance and fees.
The store manager told me that I can pay up from lease to own, but refused to give me the payment breakdown, saying everything “in their computer”. When I asked for my contract copy, he didn’t have it. I remember the contract sent from the school was very complicated with different group plans and unfamiliar billing terms, and the store ended up filling up the paperwork over the phone for us. The contract has carbon copies and the store told us they would send us our copy but never did. Now they were telling me that they didn’t have the original copy of the contract for me either.
I decided to pay up the rest to own the clarinet. Just be aware that the receipt won’t have details of what portion is for the instrument and what is for insurance and fees, and no information about the original price and the final total payment. I ended up paying more than $200 just in insurance and fees up to now. I also found out that I had overpaid >$500 for a beginner instrument that the store billed for an intermediate model, as I compared the market price for my exact model. Since I don’t have the pricing info. nor the contract, I cannot really do anything at this point.
I have since found other online complaints against Music & Art regarding the rent-to-own school instrument plan. The lack of transparency and their practice of overcharge and under-report seem to be common experience of their customers. I feel that there is an element of complacency on the school and parents ends since the service is “for our children”, but where is the accountability?

I didn’t come to purchase any thing but the employees were more than happy to show me their selection and teach me about the purpose of the parts on the guitars/bass.
Gil is a super friendly guy! My son really enjoys guitar lessons with him!
Really great place to stop by and get an instrument. The prices seem a bit higher but the quality is surely within the quality you’d expect.
I bought a ukulele here and the quality and sound lived up to the price.
My daughter is signed up for lessons and her teacher is great (I hear the others are as well). Just try not to deal with the guy that owns it.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Arrived at 10:00am (they open at 10am, but not today). I waited and they finally arrived. All I needed was guitar strings, but they had none. What a waste of time.
I tried to return my daughter’s Viola due to the school no longer providing classes. It was a total nightmare to get an answer in regards to my credit. They are very irresponsible and I am very disappointed by the lack of care towards my return which was even misplaced! Mom and dad are not helpful at all and he should really look at keeping them home, they make things worse!
7. Barnes & Noble
Address: 175 Glastonbury Blvd, Glastonbury, CT 06033 , Glastonbury Center , Connecticut , United States
My go to place to buy books. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The cafe is always clean and offer great goodies.
You’re average B&N but without the multitude of annoying college students and hipsters. Great kids section; the best I’ve seen at any B&N in the 50-60 I’ve been to throughout the US. Clean bathrooms, many discounted items and the cafe is quick and accurate with orders. Very friendly service and very rarely crowded.
Awful experience. Tables filled with nothing but race baiting propaganda. Uncomfortably political. Larger toy section than books section for kids. Lady working was extremely rude – almost mean. Will never go back to this store again.
Ths customer service wasn’t what I expected! They didn’t have what I was looking for (which I bought this particular book there 2 times) they didn’t even try to suggest a alternative book instead.
I don’t enjoy seeing foul language in books no less as part of a title on a book. Also, these particular books are placed on end caps that are visible while I walk with my children through the store….not a family atmosphere ☹️ They are not even kept in a particular section!! Disappointed!
8. Goodwill Glastonbury Store & Donation Station
Address: 2709 Main St, Glastonbury, CT 06033 , Glastonbury Center , Connecticut , United States
Clean, friendly staff, clothing sizes are not in the proper place as marked. That was a true frustration.
Getting pretty expensive for the items, and different prices for same items
Staff are really great/nice here but selling donated infant formula for $20 is downright criminal. Management needs to take a long look in the mirror and think about how messed up that is.
Was sexually harassed by the store manager at this location. Now i just simply don’t shop there anymore because of how uncomfortable he made me feel. I Tried to call corporate and inform them of the disgusting things that go on at this location, well as it turns out I was ignored and not taken seriously. As a person who lives every day with a chronic lifelong disability this was not expected when popping into my local neighborhood goodwill store. As I remember the woman who managed the place before was very friendly and her employees always went above and beyond to help and be welcoming towards customers even ones who suffer with a disability. Avoid this location and their store manager like the plague. He is a predator who preys on those who appear as weak to him.
9. La Salle Music & Sound

Mi tienda favorita tiene excelente precios de instrumentos musicales y son muy generoso y amigable se la recomiendo a todos
Great service.
Small shop but has any parts you’d need are probably there and the staff were helpful.
First, the employees were excellent; friendly and helpful. I was extremely disappointed in the store itself. This was basically a dark, messy pawn shop, not the store I was familiar with from years ago. My only reason to go back would be to pick through dusty items to find something I might be in search of, more of an adventure.
Went in to sell my cello, the woman that was working there was amazing and very professional. She had to call the owner to ask about the selling price. He had her look up what my model last sold for on eBay (it’s 2021 my dude) and there were no matches so he had nothing to go off of. I paid $1400 for it, I was looking for around $500. He wanted to give me $50. An absolute joke. I’m not looking for top dollar but I’m also not looking to get completely ripped off.
Was a dj for 30 years and bought and sold equipment all over Ct . I stopped in at lasalle music in east hartford it was a nightmare . Equipment from the seventies store a mess and the staff looked like a Grateful Dead fan with colored hair . So glad I moved on with my teaching at a high school
Sent me a different accordion with no straps and a case that should of been thrown out

Prompt and professional! Recently purchased an SBMM Majesty guitar online and it came in perfect condition with Dubaldo only upgrades, Will definitely recommend them and will be making more purchases in the future. Thanks Dubaldo team!!
That was likely the most pleasant guitar buying experience I have ever had. I could not recommend patronizing this amazing store more. Thank you so much!!
Great store! Love the selection of Ernie Ball Music Man instruments.
Great service

Honestly, you are the best. Walked In for new guitar strings yesterday and you sold me an amazing sunburst Washburn acoustic, in fact you basically gave it to me it was soo cheap. So yeah. Just wanna say I pretty much love you guys for the amazing deal you gave me on this guitar. ✌️ forever yours
Love this store for all it has and being able to try the instrauments out!
5/5 would recommend. They seemed busy but were very organized and accommodating to help my find what I needed. Had an item shipped from this store and it was packed like a tank and arrived safe and sound. Jimmy especially went above and beyond. I appreciate the efforts and time of him and the whole team.
The store has a variety of music instruments and friendly staff
Not the most amazing customer service but shouldn’t expect too much. Didn’t have what we were looking for in stock and was told that the website usually says that because they can order it and have it in within 3-5 days which I feel is misleading. We came here specifically for an instrument which the website indicated was available. Really wanted to feel the product. Will just order on Amazon and get within 2 days.
They’ve always been my goto place for musical equipment. Through the years I’ve bought keyboards , electric and conventional drums, guitars of all sorts, cases , bags, amps, sticks , and all. They’ve always had knowledgeable people for every type of instrument that don’t push stuff you don’t need but advise you toward what will work better for your skill set. Selection is ridiculous and always some sort of deals to be found. A couple more employees on hand to tend to all the customers without juggling them is only thing that held them from 5 star rating. They rock!! No joke. Locations are a bit spread out but the market doesn’t warrant more really. Thanks guys!
Pushy sales people (when they’re around), with all the heart and nuanced character of the nearby Wal-Mart. Homogenized, monolithic, soulless. Demanded I show my receipt and let them look inside my bag. They explained that this was a helpful gesture for my protection, to assure I had all the items I paid for…I gave them assurances that I had shopped at a wide variety of stores and I had a proven track record of successfully identifying and carrying items in the little bag. My assurances fell on deaf ears.
Pros: Maybe one or two. The rest are just tweens, trust-fund babies, and long-haired wanna-be’s.
Cons: Con-artists? That’s the only good thing about these guys – the prices.
Kept my guitar for about 2.5 months with no communication, sent me out to buy parts off eBay to fix it, charged me for a setup that made the dead notes sound worse. From a little buzzy to unplayable. I paid it but resolved to never come back. I had to follow up multiple times to get them to even fix it that quickly. Im generally pretty understanding about these things and don’t ever leave poor reviews, but this place is abysmal.
These guys don’t even know they’re working…
