I was hesitant to take voice lessons at first but the instructor I found through this company has made it a great experience. They are supportive, knowledgeable and make the lessons enjoyable and engaging.

It has only been a couple months and Taylor has me playing over 8 songs on guitar, learning music theory, and is assisting me with songwriting techniques! Progress with Taylor is quick, hands on, challenging, and rewarding!

This singing instructor is not only an expert but also a great source of support. They’ve helped me overcome vocal challenges and have always been there to offer guidance and encouragement.

Our son had his first lesson with Caleb…he had so much fun. Caleb really catered piano lessons to Max’s personality, age, and interests. Great experience so far!

Swing City Music in Collinsville is a local treasure!

​​I am ashamed to say that while I was once loyal to Drum Headquarters on the Missouri side, for the last several years my schedule has made it highly convenient for me to go online and order gear, sticks, what have you. ​​Even though I work less than a block away from this location, I hadn’t dealt with Swing City in many years since it was at the old location.

​​I recently got into more of a recording project and I know nothing about home recording, mixing, monitors, etc. So I have visited with Art at this location now a couple of times. I want to stress here that after my recent experience of trying to learn about and purchase a wireless in ear monitor for studio and stage, I will no longer order ANYTHING from the big guys.
​​One look around this store and I realized how wrong it was of me to EVER give my money to the Sweetwaters of the world and why it is so important to shop local for music gear if you have the opportunity. At this location, people are taking lessons, kids are learning to play, local artists music and merchandise is available for purchase, local shows are promoted and on and on. There are so few opportunities left in our area for any sort of music “scene”- places to learn, play, hone your craft, etc. but this is one of them and it is important that we support it. ​​

Art and Art Sr. and their team explained mixers, in ear monitors and different aspects of recording and sound to me, etc. clearly so that I could understand what was best in my situation and they didn’t treat me like a dummy for being a 44 year old musician who should already know this stuff by now. They didn’t try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn’t need AND as an added bonus they beat SweetWater’s pricing on everything without me even bringing it up or asking ( I would have paid more for the free education that I got from these guys). ​​Strongly recommending that everyone go here. They have an outstanding selection, great service (not a snobby guitar shop atmosphere), and they can get you what you need if they don’t have it. Thanks for reading. Hope this helps!

Probably my favorite guitar shop

Was at the Edwardsville store this afternoon and one of the employees was very unhelpful and rude. Instead of helping he just told me everything was out of my price range. He doesn’t know me or how much money I had in my pocket. Will never go back!.

I use to be an avid customer. But I am growing more and more frustrated with the management. I feel like I’m going into a sleazy used car dealership most the time and I am treated like a waking wallet. I’ve bought some guitars and amps there, so I am (or was) returning customer . The employees act fake and I feel like everyone is treated like they are a child. I was going in there to look around if there was any new stock, the employee kept on hovering and was forcing me to play the instrument I didn’t want to try.
Honestly, go to mojos. This place is as unpleasant as a guitar center

Two thumbs up to mojo’s when I first walked in I really did not think that I was going to find what I was looking for but boy was I wrong! after going to all the local music shops a few of them 2 or 3 times bigger than mojo’s I ended up falling in love with a Taylor and these guys made me a deal to good to pass up! they will definitely get checked out again on the next purchase that I make

Love my Stingray. Since I bought it, they don’t forget who I am when I come in. I also like that they have Peavey bass equipment. The sales associates have always been polite and don’t jump on you as soon as you walk in the door. They let you look first. Great store and great people.

Fun shop for sure! Eye candy hanging on all the surrounding walls. The shop’s main focus is guitars so it’s definitely the place to go if that’s your go to instrument. Workers are knowledgeable and always very helpful. It’s no breaking news that guitar shops tend to give off awkward, intimidating vibes (understandably so when you visit any shop with high pricetagged merch) and I do have to try and hide my feelings of squirminess while there, but I enjoy going and will continue to.

I went in to get my guitar repaired, the staff members sat at the counter and talked and ignored me for several minutes. Then after they finally looked at my guitar it turned out to be a very expensive repair so I decided to just buy a new guitar. One would think this would be cue to start selling a guitar, instead they ignored me some more and made me feel awkward for playing any guitar they had. So I went to swing city music right down the road and they instantly came to help and found a guitar that was right for me.

After years of taking time off from playing music, band break up really made me step away, I’ve decided to look around for a new guitar and rig, have gone to Mojo’s, have purchase three terrific instruments from them in the past 15 years, never had a bad experience, today, however, was not the same. I walked into a store deflated of its prior pulse, I was seen and ignored, walked around looking for what would be my next stage guitar. Two employees, yet no time to greet, or attempt to make a sale, to show products, I even made an attempt by asking what’s new, even then not a singular spark of interest in my affairs with them was of significance. I walked out of there for the last time, sad to see such a place become so cold and uninviting.

Been going to this location for many years and overall the experience never fails me.

We take DVD and blue rays in for store credit and get new in the package DC action figures and Marvel action figures. They have some cool things. It’s small but the people are nice.

I was looking for one of 4 different games. Unfortunately, they do not keep an inventory of the games in their store. I ended up going through every game they had, only to find out they didn’t have anything I was looking for. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. The prices are comparable.

They are alright with the selection they have but the stock never moves or changes and they do not test the vintage games. I have bought defective games from them multiple times, which they will only offer you store credit as a refund. Have them test your games before you buy.

Cool store, except we couldn’t get in to buy what we searched 2 other stores for, because it was raining so they closed hours early…even after it stopped raining 2hrs before they closed.

About what you’d expect for a dollar store. Not a huge selection of items, but cheap.

There is usually always a wait, only about 2 workers there it ever seems. Disorganised all the time and messy. I only always go there due to the fact it’s nearby.

Pretty sure I watched an employee hide and lock the doors when she didn’t wanna deal with people. And don’t bother calling, they never answer.

Stopped in today to see my old friend, Art Jr. I’ve been dealing with him for 20 odd years. I love to do trade deals, as like all musicians, we make a purchase just to find it didn’t really fit it needs. Today was not unlike my other visits. Art and his crew were kind, courteous, and meet my needs in a timely manner. If your in the market for some new or used gear, stop in Swing City Collinsville, or their Edwardsville location. Always something cool to check out!

Art jr. has always taken care of us, and has been amazing to work with over the last 10 years. Definitely recommend Swing City for all your music and lighting needs!

This place is so bad I’d rather go to guitar center and I hate guitar center. They are fine if you’re just going for lesson but if you’re doing any type of business seriously save yourself the trouble and go to any other local store or guitar center.

My experiences their have been very bad. Only 2 people in the store know anything. The owner who name is Art is a complete and total jerk!!! Don’t expect him to respect you unless you are spending loads of Cash. His workers are nice. The store though just feels dusty everytime I walk in their. This has been my experience. Use to like them now Im just fed up with customer service. They do have rare gear tho. Which for me is why I liked visiting their.

I am in a spot where I need a bass today. I came in 10/8/22 ready to buy. After 10 minutes, a sales associate said hi from across the room. After another 12 minutes, every staff was chatting with the one other customer in the store, ignoring us. No wonder the place is empty every time I drive by. I hate going to guitar center, but places like this leave you little choice when you’re ignored and not helped at all. I couldn’t reach the bass I was going to purchase, so I’m just done waiting for the chatting giggly employees hanging in their “clicky” circle.

Cool little record shop. Hard to find from the front of the plaza. Music was a bit too loud. Organized well and clean. Staff was friendly and recommended other artists based on my purchase. Would rate higher but employee did not wear a mask or even attempt to take any precautions.

I stopped in just passing through town. Being a collector, I google search for record shops anywhere I’m at. There was a decent selection for a smaller shop. I thought prices were especially reasonable on used LP’s. I walked out with a few more pieces for my collection. I will definitely stop in again.

I wish I could leave a zero star review. The owner was nothing but rude and unprofessional. I’ll never come back worst record shop in town and I’m pretty sure they are the only one. Also the place smells like an abandoned soup kitchen. #trustychordsnomore

Went to the store on 2/19/21 around 12:30 pm.
Opened the door and saw the owner sitting behind his counter without a face covering. I asked him if he was going to put one on and he replied “no, I don’t have to”. I indicated that I thought he should and that I wanted to sell some LP’s to him and that he should put a face covering on. He said that he already had his shots. I replied that that makes no difference. He then told me to “get the F out of his store”. I asked him what he said and he repeated it. Needless to say I left. I found Rich’s Record and Audio in Collinsville that require everyone entering to wear a mask. I will give Rich’s my business.

Clean while I was there even with construction under way. Check out with self checkout was quick.

Generally, WalMart is laid out fairly similarly. This one is different. The folks are just as unfriendly, sadly. Not once did we get greeted, to ask if we needed help,except the door greeting we received.

Additionally, costs are higher than our usual store. Milk was $.30 higher. That may be, in part, due to the location of the store, but it shouldn’t matter.

Frankly, I am tiring of the long lines, due to a minimum of cashier clerks working. There is usually a line in the cashier less lanes now too.

Bring back customer friendly service!

Did they have to build it RIGHT NEXT TO THE BIGGEST OLD FOLKS HOME IN THE AREA? I swear every single time I get too much stuff to do self checkout I get stuck behind some fossil who has to stop the cashier every couple seconds and argue about an item being a few cents more expensive than it was on the shelf. Couple that with security being so wishy washy with who they check. I’ve walked out with a full cart of stuff and they don’t bat an eye but when I run in to get a packet of thumbtacks THAT’S when I’m a security risk and need to get audited.

I was very impressed, with the integrity and the ability to give me information about an antique I was looking to part with. My experience was excellent, I would recommend anyone to this dealer!

Went in the store, had about 45 minutes to get some printing done. A new employee ( training ) approached, I told him what I needed. Manager ( Robert ) helped me and I was on my way in under 30 minutes. They are very efficient and took the time to help. I would recommend going to this store.

Glen Carbon, IL Print Department Female Employee working on 10/15/23 is awful, rude and repeatedly abrupt and unprofessional. She acts inappropriately snotty on the phone and in person. She is nasty to all the customers using the Office Max Print Department.

Customer service is pretty much null and void. Indifferent and impersonal. Just visited this location today and was met with absolutely no concern for the fact that I might have a little difficulty in maneuvering through the self service device. Who thought of this concept anyway? Apparently it works for the associate who was having a conversation with someone when I walked in and continued to converse even though I was trying to figure things out at the mathisle. By the way, other than the person she was holding a conversation with, there was absolutely no other customer in the area. To me, that exhibited where her priorities lie. Incidentally, this is not the first time I’ve experienced this at this location or this chain. Priority is definitely not the customer. Where oh where has interpersonal communication and customer appreciation gone ?????

Ran into poor customer service from the young lady in the photo department a couple of weeks ago. Not friendly at all. Went back to the store today to purchase a few items and she made eye contact and immediately walked away. I was looking for another staff member to help me out but there was nobody else around. This place has truly gone down hill.

We were able to rent a trumpet for my grade school aged son. Once he committed to continuing into jr highschool, we were able to buy a trumpet with money off from the rental agreement. They are very friendly and even helped out with a temporary case for the trumpet (free of charge)when a storm flooded our home. Can’t say enough nice things about them!

They adjusted the bracelet size of my watch perfectly. Very friendly, were careful with my watch, and the price was fair. Exactly what I was looking for.

Went above and beyond to accommodate me. They quoted me a price but had to do more than normal to fix my watch. Instead of charging me more, they honored their original price and have earned a life long customer for it.

Quickly replaced the batteries on my Invicta, bought a couple watches from me for a fair price, and beautifully replaced the crystal on my favorite watch.

Customer service skills need to be better

Kind of a somber experience honestly. Had a ‘visitation to a funeral’ kind of vibe. Was pretty giddy to get a new watch after not having one for so long since the invention of the cell phone. Buying a watch or a piece of jewelry is a time of heightened excitement for the customer. The shopkeepers should meet that level of excitement for a truly great experience.

I take great care of my watches and I was stresed to see how roughly my watch was treated by the front desk worker. She just plopped it down on the counter and then slid it. I worry that it may have been scratched.

The watch servicing I was quoted was also higher than I expected.

Tried 3 times to work with them. Clock repair? Not worth their time. Replace watch band? Can’t do it. Lengthen bands on 2 Seikos and a Citizen watch. They couldn’t help me. Replace watch band with longer one? Not unless I bought from them. Customer service was limited to profitability.

My daughter and I loved our experience as a new family at SIUE this year! Ms. Mikaila is an experienced, talented and fun teacher! We participated in Little Listeners, violin lessons, & pre-twinkle zoom classes. SIUE is a well-run organization that creates a special community of learners. Not only were the classes great, I also appreciated the newsletters, quick email responses, and Spring Festival Booklet.

My children have participated in the SUIE Suzuki Program for 3 years now. Two of them started their musical journey here, and two others transferred from other teachers. The instructors are all highly-skilled professional musicians who relate well to very young children and teens, and they teach in a creative, thorough way. I couldn’t be happier with our experience.

This place is great for all things retro! I often frequent this place with my family. My son absolutely loves it here.
The staff is always friendly, and more than accommodating.
You might pay a little more for some things, but when you take into consideration that you’re supporting a local business, it kind of makes it worth it.

They have a great selection of older toys, pop figures, comics.. tons of movies and games.

Intresting walk down memory lane. If you are into the old school gaming this is definitely the spot you want to see. Hours are odd so plan the trip.

For retro game collectors, Grumpy Bob’s is an absolute treasure trove having an extremely wide variety of titles, including many that are extremely rare and that are almost never seen outside of online vendors. My only complaint is that their prices, while not necessarily high, definitely fall under “eBay” prices which is more or less the norm for stores such as this, their are a few other local retro game stores that offer much more reasonable prices.

It’s not exactly a video store…. It’s like a small building with a lot of separate rooms. They have loose used toys (vintage) box toys, dolls, CDs, blue rays. I can explain everything they have, you need to go see for yourself. I bet there is something you will love there!!! It’s in Maryville IL. Please go check it out, you will not be disappointed!!!

Extremely disappointed. I understand covid happened, however I do not understand how you have an incorrect price on every single item. Can you imagine if Walmart did that? Hey none of our prices are correct so good luck at the checkout when you don’t have the 3x markup required. You can post all the signs you want but it’s just a complete disaster. Close the store for a few days and get the correct prices on things. Stop paying people for reviews, stop blaming everyone else for your shortcomings. Do better. We’ve decided as a family that we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Unfortunately a dissapointing visit. Stopped by with a few friends on a roadtrip and we were excited to stop by and take in the shop. The employees were nice and greeted us/other customers when they walked in regarding their policies and other information. The store selection is incredibly diverse, well presented and quite impressive to behold.

This is where my praise ends however, due to their policy of overriding the prices of their games at time of checkout, often 2 to 3 times what they were previously marked. Its frustrating as all the product in the world, doesn’t really matter if you can get the same thing cheaper online from countless other retailers. My friends and I left empty handed and disheartened from a location that should have been a game collecting dreamland.

While there is technically isn’t anything “wrong” with the policies in place, they certainly don’t encourage someone to visit a brick and mortar location, especially in times like these. I wish them the best, but I simply cannot recommend visiting their store with these practices in place.

They only offered me $100 for 40 Xbox games. Some of them new. Really musty on inside. Most of these games were factory sealed btw. I understand you gotta make money, but $100/4 is only $2.50 a game, thet they will sell for $8-$10..
