I can’t say enough wonderful things about Music Lab and especially Justin. He is a great instructor! My 9 year old son really enjoys learning from him.
My son recorded his first drum cover here. Very professional and relaxed environment.
We have been so happy with our experience at Music Lab! Our son has grown so much from his drum lessons with Brian. Brian is so good with him and has taught him so much already in a short time. The owner, Alex, is a joy to work with and everyone we’ve encountered has been awesome! We are beyond excited to continue our kids’ music education at Music Lab for years to come!
We signed up for a free guitar lesson with Alex. After receiving two confirmation emails, both of which stated they were “confirming” the lesson, and neither of which asked for a response, and one specifically stated no response was necessary, we drove the half hour from our home to the music studio. The teacher was in a lesson with another student, having cancelled our lesson without notice because we didn’t respond to the emails.
We re-scheduled the make up lesson and it went smoothly so we signed up for regular lessons. At our first regular lesson, another student appeared thinking he had a lesson with Alex at the same time my son did. Alex told him the slot was no longer available.
After two lessons with no incident, Alex apparently had a problem with my son’s behavior. He told my husband after the lesson that he had to repeat himself “more than was appropriate.” And told my son “I’m the teacher and you need to do what I tell you.” He then said that if my son didn’t improve over the next two lessons, he would refuse to teach him any longer.
My son is easily distracted and can have a hard time focusing, so I do not doubt that he had a difficult half hour. However, my husband was not given any more specifics and was told that there was no time to discuss the problem because there was another student waiting. Mind you, my husband was in the waiting room for the entire lesson and could have been brought in at any point if there was a problem.
I emailed Alex to try and find out what happened and tell him that I was upset at how the situation was handled. His response failed to acknowledge that he handled the situation anything less than appropriately, stating that he gave my husband specifics that my husband had not heard previously. He invited me to call, which I did, leaving a voicemail stating that I still felt he handled the situation poorly and asked for an apology while also suggesting a solution to avoid this miscommunication (and any behavior problems) in the future: one parent or the other sits in the room while the lesson is occurring.
While Alex did call me back later in the evening on a Friday, I was unable to call him back until Tuesday. By that time, he had issued a refund and decided, without further discussion, to stop teaching my son.
Throughout this process, I was surprised and made uncomfortable by the lack of professionalism exhibited. Alex has since told me that he had never had a problem with a student in five years. Apparently he has been lucky. This is most definitely not the place to go if you think communication and professionalism are important.
2. The Music Store
Address: 4815 Granite Dr, Rocklin, CA 95677 , Granite Bay , California , United States
My sons mouthpiece got stuck in his trumpet. We walked in and they removed it for us at no charge. The service was awesome and they are very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back! And they have private lessons at a very reasonable charge!
I rented a sax that i can’t afford anymore, but my experience was good. They have a nice rent to buy program that I want to take advantage of in the future, and the voice lessons are something I’ve always wanted to invest in and learn.
My kids took piano lessons for a few years here. On a whim I signed up for voice lessons. At age 48. No music experience since elementary school violin. No talent to speak of. IT HAS BEEN SO MUCH FUN! Patrick is such a kind and inspiring teacher. Each week brings a new discovery. I feel like a kid again. Take a chance and start a new adventure. I am excited to start my next lesson tomorrow.
Friendly staff and very helpful.
I rented a used violin for my son from the shop. They said the price was $199. The rental was $35 per month. after two months if you want to own the violin then they said they would deduct the rental amount from the original price. But when we want to buy the used violin they said the price is $299 which is hell more than a new violin. So would recommend not to rent or buy anything from this store.
I want to hop on here and leave a review on behalf of this business. I am myself a pianist and a piano technician visiting from Georgia, and I had an itch to check out the pianos in this area. I stopped by to pay a visit to The Piano Store and play a few pianos. The owner was gracious to allow me even though I wasn’t there to buy from him. Excellent selection of high quality pianos! I will be sending my Sacramento friends here when they’re ready to buy a piano! Thank you!
We purchased our first piano from the Piano Store and the experience was incredible. We vacillated between Yamaha U1 and U3. Richard was very patient to answer our questions, and he tested the sound of those two different pianos and showed us the pros and cons. We finally selected the U3, and it was delivered later in the weekend. The quality of the piano and the service from the store are superior. I highly recommend this store.
This is how a shopping experience should be. Richard was patient, let me explore different models, answered my questions, let me play, and when I bought one the paperwork was done in a timely manner. The showroom is amazing, beautiful pianos in all shapes, sizes, and yes, price ranges. I spent two hours there and didn’t realize it until I left.
I’ve been looking for pianos for awhile and was satisfied with the selection here, but I felt like the person working there was a little pushy and rude which led to me wanting to leave. I’m not sure if I’d be comfortable coming here again.
Reply: My point is that my experience here was very uncomfortable. It was difficult to look for pianos in peace, yet I’d understand why you’d feel the need to be persistent with asking questions in an attempt to help out. My dad isn’t from the US and doesn’t exactly communicate well, so I became anxious when you told him, “People usually don’t just walk in” as he was taking a look around; this made me feel as if we were unwelcome. I tried to elaborate his vague response by telling you that we have indeed been looking for a piano for awhile; this was in no way defensive although I didn’t get the chance to fully explain myself since you quickly cut me off by saying, “Yeah, I know”. I willfully admit that what you said to my dad slightly irritated me, which is why I blatantly answered the question you asked me and continued to browse around the shop (considering the reason we visited was to look around, obviously). I just recently turned 18 (which you know since I answered when you asked) and would consider myself a sociable person, so the reason of me seeming “rude and standoff to the max” is only the outcome of feeling like our visit was bothersome for you. I was antsy the entire time and it was disappointing since I’ve been meaning to visit for awhile. And I understand that maybe you weren’t having the best day, but my review is an honest recap of my PERSONAL experience, and isn’t being said to bash your business. No one is “trampling” you Ben – I’d greatly appreciate it if you considered what I’m stating rather than argue.
No, he doesn’t buy pianos.
Very rude walked into the store ready to spend upwards of $20000 on a piano the employees were very rude and didnt feel like answering questions and they would watch every move u made made me and my cousin very uncomfortable how am I supposed to spend lots of money on a piano when i can’t test it due to them being on the phone all the time them not having a back office where they can take phone calls is very unprofessional i was in there for about 10 minutes until i couldn’t take the constant questions them watching everywhere i go i would not recommend this place for anyone who wants piece and quiet to shop for a piano
7. Creative Arts & Music Center
Address: 6210 Douglas Blvd, Granite Bay, CA 95746 , Granite Bay , California , United States
Best place ever!!! Love all the events and classes and staff! Fantastic!
My granddaughter loves the classes. Very friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Plenty of supplies and only nice people allowed to attend.
It makes me really happy to see places like these i wish i had thos opportunity as a kid you must get your kids here the place is really nice inside
Not a good fit for my child on the spectrum. I appreciate letting us try it, but wow I wasent expecting it to be so incredibly strict. Lining up on colored spots, washing hands over and over and over. If you have a wiggly kid who has a hard time waiting or hard time with lots demands and noise I wouldent think this is a good fit. I thought maybe it would be less pressure arts and music, there was alot of pressure and expectations.
Arsen was hired by our dear friends as a surprise for my husband’s birthday. He drove all the way to Lake Tahoe to help us celebrate. He was prompt, professional and extremely talented! Looking forward to hiring him for more celebrations.
Arsen played at one of my wing events at Jessup University and he played wonderful, and he really brings the vibe.
Thanks TheSaxoMan for making our grand opening unforgettable! He is a very professional musician and our staff guarantees that he can make your event be filled by the saxophone’s rich sound and make your guests ask for his number.
Great staff, super knowledgeable, bought 4 of my instruments from them over the years… definitely go here and get what you need!
Nicholson’s is aces! Helpful in every way…. but they’re not going to think for you. Music is all about infinite choices. You just have to narrow them down a bit; and the staff at Nicholson’s will be there every time!
The customer service here is phenomenal. They do excellent work and provide great lessons too.
I enjoyed the experience of coffee, paired sometimes with comedy, awesome musicians to so so ones on open mike days. Fun place with friendly staff.
Wish the coffee was better than just good, or maybe I’m just spoilt. Haha.
Good staff
Decent service and friendly staff
Rude and unprofessional people.
Very snooty to non music experts
The man in the back was extremely rude to me. Totally ruined my great mood. Worst way to make a sale. Ill shop elsewhere.
Great small local music store. They offer lessons and great advice if you’re buying a guitar.
Sebastian is great. He guided me through buying a tenor ukulele, case and tuner. Beautiful instrument that I’m very excited to learn. Highly recommend El Dorado Hills Music.
Cameron and his team are extremely knowledgeable and have a healthy selection of instruments. The team are super friendly and accommodating. A+, highly recommended.
Their music selection was a bit small but they had everything I needed at a very reasonable cost.
The line was crazy long and they were extremely under staffed.
Did not have a kazoo

Always friendly fast and best coffee ever 911 all time favorite!
Open, available, dependable.. what else can you say?!.. it’s@&#$AWESOME!!!
It’s alright, it’s basically just coffee and slushys with caffeine, good just not my thing
Late evening when we arrived ( 9pm is) . Decent amount of cars in line, staff was very friendly and line moved pretty quickly !
Been to much better Dutch Bros. However, the person you took my order was amazing!
Going downhill steadily.
So disappointed in this place second time back and they messed up my drink and also spilled my drink all over my car because the lid wasn’t on. The staff was rude.
Asked for dirty chi and did get the Dirty. You leave and find out after there’s no coffee. To long to wait to fix.
15. Guitar Center
Address: 5781 Five Star Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678 , Granite Bay , California , United States
My husband got a great price on exactly what he was looking for
I don’t know his name, but one of the guys is extremely helpful. He’s very knowlegeable and quick with answers to pretty much any question I ask. Really good job!
Very helpful staff, tons of instruments!!!
Guitar center staff is nice and helpful. It’s always fun to come in, grab a guitar and play it for a bit.
Nice selection but understaffed. Prices are OK.
I got my 13 year old son guitar lessons here and he really enjoys working with his instructor Cody. My only complaint is the cost of the guitar lessons. They seem to be a bit on the high side @ $60 an hour.
Shopping online becomes ever more enticing after experiencing the horrific customer service here.
Holy! What a joke! Never coming here again!
Bad customer service. I couldn’t look at a guitar that I wanted because the guy assumed it was on layaway even though he didn’t check (it could have been needing repairs, it was missing parts). I wanted to check the guitar’s setup because I bought the same guitar, brand new online, and wanted it to be setup similarly (Action, tuning, type of strings, etc). Huge waste of time and gas getting there, waited nearly an hour before talking with someone because most of the staff were just walking around aimlessly and out of reach. Not worth the hassle.
Savannah was a great server. Went on a Wednesday at the end of the day and was not rushed. The wine was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back. Beautiful venue!
Love this winery! A few of us were visiting for a work trip and spent our last night in town here. Savannah was our waitress and she was knowledgeable and super attentive. I highly recommend the oil and bread dish while sampling wines! Will be back next time we are in town.
We loved it. My wife and I visited Twin Rocks for an afternoon date. This place is beautiful! Huge estate. Views of vineyards and lakes. The atmosphere deserves 6 stars. Seating area outside decorated with modern and comfortable chairs/tables/lounges/umbrellas/ fireplaces. Inside the winery, the atmosphere is sophisticated and inviting. You can choose to sit wherever you like. Big wine bar with open seating. The wine selection is great with a mixture of whites and reds to appease any wine connoisseur. We loved the sparking wines and the estate Primitivo. They also have a great food menu! Caviar is on the menu, but honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with the food pricing – very fair. Jessica was taking care of us, and we had a great time. Minutes drive from East Roseville/GB – behind Bayside. Highly recommend!
Great place!
Great team meeting experience at Twin Rocks Estate Winery, packs of guests Friday afternoon, four star only because would like more food options.
Came in on a Friday. They have a very nice and relaxing grounds. We tried both the Sparkling Flights and the Discovery Flights. We tried their Calamari, Charcuterie Board and the Sturgeon Pate. We were also given a complimentary small bites which tasted very good. We enjoyed the wines and the relaxing environment. There was music (an acoustic singer) at around 4pm.
I took 1 star off because of the service. The food took awhile when served, and our 2nd set of tasting took at least 30mins after we asked for the 2nd one. I think there were only 1 to 2 servers at that time we were there and they were serving at least 9 tables. There were no Sommeliers. The servers didn’t talk to us about their wines at all, they just basically, served drinks and food. For a winery, I personally would have loved for a Sommelier or a “server” to at least talk to us about their wines.
Came at 5:15 for a tasting. Couldn’t get in due to a wedding event, website should’ve been updated to let the public know they would be closed for the evening
Twin Rocks is a great little place! Its outdoor seating and farm fresh food is always great, I’ve been in a couple times in the last year. Recently it seems like a new manager has started since moving in the new building and I have zero nice things to say about him. He’s been rude, to not only me, but other customers and his own employees while we’ve been tasting. My experience since he’s started has declined and I do not plan on coming back any time soon.
Second visit, first time to new tasting room. Staff nice, though off to a rocky start. Don’t agree with some practices. After opening a bottle, need to be sure it’s good to go….smell, taste, etc. Was poured a bad wine. Many customers would not say anything, therefore the staff needs to be educated to guide clients. Beautiful tasting room, though I preferred the casual relaxed barn of years past. This is not Napa.
18. The Strum Shop
Address: 209 Vernon St, Roseville, CA 95678 , Granite Bay , California , United States
Great store, great people blessed to have them near were I live. Stop by and support the scholarship program and help a child learn to play music
most talented and patient instructors good vibes
Wonderful little shop, you should go!
I went to the Strum Shop where I was greeted by Dr. Dan, a very nice man who seems knowledgeable about acoustic instruments. he was super helpful and told me my guitar would be done in 2 days. I got it back the next day. The work was pretty good and the string rattle was fixed but I discovered a couple weeks later he had made a new slot for the high E string on the nut (which I didn’t ask for) and as a result the strings are now not evenly spaced. I have to get a new nut put on now which is disappointing.
He did put a new pickup on for a fair price which works great and I appreciate that! It’s a very nice guitar shop run by very nice folks. I’m sure I’ll go back at some point but I’m a little bummed about having to get a new nut put on as a result of the initial work.
Cool
Had all manner of steering instruments, plus. Also they give music lessons for drums, violin, ukulele, plus more.
They lost my instrument and won’t return my calls. I brought an instrument in for repairs, they gave to their vendor, I talked with the vendor and he said it would be done in two weeks. After a month with no word I started calling, and they have ignored all messages I’ve left.
I brought a guitar to adjust the action. Dan did not place the parts I asked for saying he did not have it on stock. Inaccurate repair job with replacing the guitar nut. Honestly I could adjust my guitar better than this “professional repair master” “Doctor” Dan. Waisted $80. Very unsatisfied. I would not recommend any repairs in this shop/store.
Went in and there was a class going on with 20+ people crammed into a tiny space, not one of them wearing a mask. Only one other person in the entire store had one on, none of the staff. Fully 1/3rd of Sac Co. is completely unvaccinated. I’m immune compromised [along with some 7,000,000 other American citizens] & disabled. The ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM of decency and community protection is apparently an outrageous expectation. They also had some absurd overpricing. I vastly prefer non-corporate local stores, but they can F right off if they’re not going to do even the simplest, most pitifully minor actions to do their part in not further spreading a wildly uncontrolled global pandemic that has killed nearly a million U.S. humans, and is far from over. Still averaging a quarter million cases a day, and over 2,000 deaths [more than any time since last winter, still]. They don’t even REQUEST that people wear some kind of face covering. Reprehensible madness, and unless this changes I will not support or recommend them to my musician friends. Please be better, nobody should be forced to exclude themselves from society JUST because of laziness or ignorance and non-measures that throw disabled folks under the bus.

Checked out their pop up collection of punk vinyl, scored a few good ones!!
Great selection of vinyl and random equipment. Turntable needles in stock on the regular.
Super friendly and helpful
Its only good if you get the cheap store.
Pretty cool little local vinyl shop. If you want to crate dig for record treasure in Roseville this is a good spot for it. The place is a bit chaotic but staff was friendly and was I happy to find a few gems.
No shortage of inventory to choose from. Shop is packed full and can be difficult to find specifics in the clutter but, it’s sure a vinyl diggers paradise. Boxes upon boxes of un sorted/graded/priced vinyl. Any genre that fits your fancy. Graded, sleeved and priced bins too. During my visit, the place saw many visitors other than myself. Shelves of stereo/turntable gear for sale with minimal CD inventory. This place is a vinyl hunters Toys R Us. Bargain bins and rareties alike. I would recommended this shop if you’re in the area.
Buys for Pennie’s and very pick and sells trash for very high prices. Go to goodwill eBay and Amazon. They are crooks
This store has been allowing someone to use my credit card info I live in Canada and getting charges here had to change all my credit card info now.
