Can’t say enough about how knowledgeable and helpful Larry was!
Mary Ellen and her team are incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient and the shop is chock full of everything you need and if by chance it’s not they will get it for you. AND an added bonus is that she matches internet prices so shop locally everyone!
While it may seem like a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, the store offers a plethora of instruments and other musical paraphernalia. Music lessons also offered!
Great guitar lessons. Great deals, they price match guitar center too! My son got a gorgeous electric guitar for Christmas to upgrade from his child-sized Ibanez, and the customer service was great.
Lots of quality products and good service
Absolutely terrible service. POOR selection of instrument strings (they never buy them) They’ve fired their most charismatic workers. The owner/”manager” will ignore you if she’s on the phone. Had an amp in there for six months that was more broken when I got it back, than when I brought it in, due to their “guitar tech” Steve. Worst music store in North California, if I could give zero stars I would.
Over priced
Yeah not too sure about that place I feel robbed every time I go in there, yeah of course there’s a lot of good stuff there but overall there wasn’t a chance for no stars they can have one I guess

Great instructors and very helpful staff. They don’t make you feel silly because you are a beginner.
Awesome one on one customer servise
Very nice inventory of new and more used guitars basses. All instruments available here and service department for basic fixes.. knowledgable employees!
Real nice hometown music store
Tiny little shop. Nice owner though. Didn’t get much more than a tuner. Can’t really judge more.
I previously gave Soundcheck a great review but now I am not so sure. Yes, they guys are great there. But watch out for their prices. I was in a hurry last week and needed some basic acoustic strings. They charged me over $16. for the set and I didn’t think twice. But when I got home I realized they really should have been a lot les.
The MSRP on those strings is $6.99 Same price online or at most of the other local guitar shops.
So they charged me well over double for the same strings. I really want to support local business…but I am done with Sondcheck.
Got a few records vintage. Mostly new stuff. Friendly owner was willing to find stuff and bring it in. Would recommend.
Kurt has a phenomenal collection of music & stereo equipment. I thoroughly enjoy every visit to this wonderful store in the heart of Grass Valley. Every customer is welcomed and it is a pure joy to browse the CDs, vinyl & more.
Best. Record. Store. Ever.
awesome collection of electronic music probably all my 11-17 records cost about 100-200 dollars the only time i didnt like it is when we went there one time and the new worker was super slow i might not come back here for a while until good label records come back again but it was perfect here for the experience being
Pretty decent selection of records, CD’s. More business than enthusiasts, unless you’re a regular.
Had such a great selection of both LPs and CDs. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Cool shop.
If I could rate them less than 1 star I would. Nasty attitudes and very unhelpful. Avoid!
Stopped in today to support local business. This is a big government conformist shop. Nothing rock n roll or punk about it. Had numerous items in hand to purchase when an employee handed me a mask. I put it back walked out. Jenns metal Tees online is where I’ll shop from now on. Remember when America was free and rock n punk still rebelled.
Do yourself a favor and go to Cherry Records in Auburn. I’ve tried to support this business for years, but have finally had enough of being ripped off for overpriced, low-quality products from a dishonest dealer.
