Just needs to hire some good workers and order things that needs to be in stock
Great! Found everything I needed.
Nothing bad to say, but nothing over the top to push to a 5 star.
None of the stockers or cashier’s wore maskers although sign on door saying all customers wear masks. Was real good about masks but these were all new people. Will not be going back although I have been a customer for years. Have heard this from a lots of my older friends.
Bad store rude employee’s
This store is a total mess nothing in stock and the people are not friendly

Address: 1050 S Main St, Graysville, AL 35073 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
Always a wonderful experience when I walk through the door. Good gear selection. Great prices. Helpful staff.
Great selection and staff.
Harold is a master at wiring guitars up. He tops my knowledge in that area, therefore, for the harder jobs, I send my brother there. 🙂
You can’t trust Bailey Bros and Guitar Center in this town. You can trust Highland.
Owner was very helpful. I was looking for a pair of drum sticks. He was kind and explained that this was a shop. Occasionally may acquire drumming items. I appreciated his honesty and kindness. Purchased 2 pairs.
If you love music and you need an instrument repair this place is a definite gem.
Very condscending and not friendly to younger people. Im not a know it all but some of the stuff the man was talking about wasnt correct. Rather go to bailey brothers theyre friendly and very nice
Pretentious and overpriced….typical music store snobbery
As a local of BHM I’ve been to Highland Music many times over the last 10 years or so. They’ve always had an interesting selection of gear. You’ll see the usual flow of second-hand gear pass through. It seems like a popular place to sell your guitar or amp on consignment. Highland also has some neat vintage stuff. They have several vintage CBS era Strats hanging out behind the counter. They have always managed to have a few other vintage Fenders too. They even have a literal wall of vintage Fender Champ amps that include tweed, blackface, and silverface era examples. So why the low score you ask?
The problem with Highland music is the people working there consistently give customers a negative experience. These guys are unknowledgeable in the gear they carry-not the biggest deal. That would be easily forgiven if it weren’t for their habit of just making up stuff to sound smart when they don’t have an answer. What’s worse than this is their attitude toward customers. Don’t bother asking to play one of those cool vintage guitars. You will only be met with a snide remark about how you probably can’t afford it. Both myself and friends have experienced this kind of rude talk from Highland Music, and it’s honestly lead to our decision of willfully not spending our money there.
I do not intend on bashing this store. I am not an angry internet troll, and this is not that kind of post. I genuinely want to see Highland Music succeed. Despite the faults I have complained about, I think it is the coolest guitar store we have in BHM. I would love to see these sort of things change.
5. Guitars and More LLC Gardendale
Address: 1128 Main St, Gardendale, AL 35071 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
Awesome experience! Needed new strings on my banjo and they replace it quick!! Will be back again!
If you are looking for a guitar, this place rocks. Quality stuff at a fair price. My son takes lessons now, and I hope to take bass lessons soon.
Great Place
Great inventory and excellent friendly service from a fellow named Ken. Very knowledgeable
Great sales,super repair work!
Great local guitar store. Eric does a great job running this store.
I went in yesterday and asked about a Gretch open back banjo on the back wall that didn’t have a price tag. The reply I got from the bearded gent behind the counter was ” I don’t know, probably $300 or something”, and then he walked away like I didn’t exist. The vibe I got from him was “I dont want to help you. I won’t help you”. I buy a LOT of instruments and spend thousands of dollars per year on all sorts of music equipment, but this store has shown me that they don’t want my business and they aren’t interested in having any sort of customer care. I didn’t want to go to Guitar Center anymore, I would like to buy from a local store, but Guitars and More has discouraged me from doing any business with them. My advice to other customers is to go elsewhere. They don’t want your business and they don’t deserve your business.
The people are nice but the stuff you buy here is garbage.
6. Homewood Musical Instrument Co
Address: 1712 28th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
Jason and crew were incredibly helpful and kind to me when I needed to repair my Amp head and my guitar cabinet’s input jacks.
If you’re in a touring a band or a musician in town, I highly recommend you visit the shop!
Knowledgeable and friendly. Loved it!
I’ve never been in here but I will be again for sure. Very friendly and fast service. I left with a smile and a laugh..oh and the guitar stuff I came here for
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.
7. Art’s Music Shop, Inc
Address: 4647 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
I’ve worked with several music stores throughout the state of Alabama- both as a personal musician & as a music director in the schools- & my experience with Art’s Music has been professional, helpful, & quick. Their service is wonderful, & they are knowledgeable in many school band & orchestra areas. I highly recommend using them for your instrument needs.
I always receive amazing customer service here. They are always knowledgeable about the product and are always willing to help with any of my needs. Highly recommended!
Great staff
I called and they didnt answear
It’s nice that stores like Art’s are still around.
changed to 4 stars because service isn’t as good as it used to be. It is now only ok. Was also very expensive.
I spent $3500 on a saxophone here and when I tried to sell it back they offered me $150 even though it was in good condition just an fyi
This place is a joke. I called and asked about a mellophone and was told that they had several from me to choose from. I get there and they had one that was new and one from the 70’s they tried sell me. I will stay with Bailey Brothers.
SCAM! Just buy an instrument off Amazon with Affirm or some other if you need to make payments. The markup isn’t justified by the TERRIBLE and antiquated policies and customer service.
AVOID! THIS IS A SCAM!
8. Bailey Brothers Music Company
Address: 4673 US-280 Suite # 7, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
I walked thru the door and felt at home. The sales associates are seasoned musicians, so they know. They had exactly what i needed with a smile. And they were cheaper than the competition. They sell Mesa Boogie. What more can i say.
Great service and especially from Lewis Ross.
I mean come on it’s Bailey Brothers. Excellent service better people.
Usually get good service, but I took my guitar nut to be repaired after my guitar took a spill. I let them know the guitar had fallen and hoped they would fix. The nut was replaced poorly but the guitar had a buzz. Took it back 2 more times. The last visit, the person in charge of the repair (2 weeks later)said I had heavy fingers and raised the stings to a height that made the guitar unplayable. I took to another repair shop and they repaired the nut replaced by Bailey Brothers found a couple of uneven frets repaired the frets adjusted the neck and had to re-setup the guitar from the disaster repair at Bailey Brothers. If in need of repairs I will never return to this store.
good staff well organize not bad products
Great customer service. Great selection. However, I was NOT thrilled to see their logo custom printed onto the snare head I bought. Would have received 5 stars if not for that. Going to remove it with some acetone.
Don’t answer the phone
No stars really. Not a very good merchant. Let someone use my credit card number without the card! Be careful!
I came in here the other day and they were incredibly overbearing and checked in on me every 30 seconds. From the second I walked in they were all up in my face and insisted on providing an address and phone number whenever I paid which I fully expect to be sold somewhere. I don’t know if they’re struggling to keep the lights on or something but the amount of customer service was way too much and came across as pushy and rude. Literally just let me shop.
9. RMM Productions
Address: 4294 Hathaway Ln, Mt Olive, AL 35117 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
Excellent, friendly service!!! Some real trustworthy guys. Did a great job. They installed some aftermarket 4.56 gears in my F150. Extremely happy with the results! Would highly recommend.

12. Maestros School of Music
Address: 2750 Mt Olive Rd, Mt Olive, AL 35117 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
This store is very clean. They have very good prices on fresh cuts of meat. The employees are very nice and helpful. I drive out of my way to go here.
Always friendly staff.
What I like most about this store are the great people who work there, they are all super friendly and if you need any help whatsoever all you have to do is ask and they will stop what they’re doing and do everything they possibly can to answer your questions or solve your issue and if they can’t they’ll get you to someone who can.
They have great meat sales like today I got a 3 lb roll of hamburger for $8.41, which and a family pk.of 4 great looking T-bone steaks for $22.50. It’s been a fairly good day!
Nice renovations.
Price’s are high
One of the young cashier that is always there not friendly at all.
The cashier didnt even tell me my total and talked to someone else the whole time they was ringing me up
Prices are outrageous.
14. Ellis Piano & Organ
Address: 1550 Montgomery Hwy suite a, Birmingham, AL 35216 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
My family and I were so excited to purchase our first digital piano and the experience of buying it at Ellis just contributed to that. David, our sales rep, asked us some simple questions about our playing experience and goals and helped us find a great entry-level piano that suits our needs. We’re really pleased with our purchase and will return when we’re ready to upgrade!
Lots of choices and friendly employees.
Great store for piano buyers. Cory and David are very helpful. They will spend the time to knowledgeably talk with you about the various instruments and to let you try on even the ones that are above your goal or budget. They won’t press you into buying anything, nor try to convince you that some expensive piano is “the best piano in the world” or that some cheap one is a great deal. I didn’t buy a piano, but I will definitely be back for one when I am ready.
Nice, helpful staff
my experience was questionable. they decide who they want …
The staff was friendly, and they have tons of pianos and other equipment to choose from. The space is enormous, and is fun to just browse. They also do repairs. Call or stop by for any musical needs. Would go again.
15. Alabama’s Finest™ Mastering Studio
Address: 2618 Walker Chapel Rd, Fultondale, AL 35068 , Graysville , Alabama , United States
I’m loving every single video that Alabama’s Finest has edited for me. He’s truly an expert at his craft! I’m looking forward to his work in the future.
Owner is a really cool guy named Fergie. Went their for a grubhub order and a bunch of stuff went wrong due to Grubhubs incompetence, but he still made sure I got the order so I could take it to the customer’s house and get paid. 5 stars all the way around for being a decent human being. I will definitely be back to give them more business.
Great people great homemade food and pool! How could it get any better!
One of the best burgers I’ve had….the club is good is also very good.
I’m not of drinking age yet, but their food is very good. Might update my review once I can experience their drinks.
Food was excellent! Fat boy was hungry, now fat boy not!

The only bad was the parking lot!
Philly cheesesteak was delicious.
