This is the finest music store around the selection is awesome and the staff are exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly highly recommended thanks a bunch
Always great customer service, added bonus is the repair shop.
Solid.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great instrument options for guitars and percussion. The location is not the best part of town; otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.
I called on a Saturday to see if a kick drum could be repaired. The gentleman I was speaking with informed the drum specialist won’t be in until Tuesday to take a look at it. Perfectly understandable. I asked how long could the repair could possibly take, which seemed like a reasonable question, but the guy I was speaking with had an entire meltdown! Started talking aggressively and rudely. I told him to relax because it was a simple question. I won’t ever do business with this company. If this is how you react to and treat people for asking simple questions, I can’t imagine the level of service would be any better.
There is a lot I like about this place, but there is definitely a problem with sexism here. The staff seems to be entirely white and male, and one staff member in particular has consistently been very patronizing to me. Without any prior familiarity with me, he consistently assumed I lack any knowledge or expertise. He told me things about my own gear as if I couldn’t possibly understand it on my own. He told me that I would be able to settle on one type of guitar I liked once I had “some experience.” At one point, while trying out a guitar, I noted it was out of tune. I was about to tune it when he quickly took it from me, saying he would be able to tune it faster than I could. (This did not turn out to be true. He actually seemed to have some trouble with the amp’s tuner.) This particular employee has been there the last few times I’ve been in, and from other employees I’ve experienced a remote surliness. I understand this is the traditional culture of music stores, but I personally am not interested in participating anymore. It’s a shame, because I think the store has a good selection and good prices, and it’s in my neighborhood. But until the culture at the store changes, I’ll unfortunately be using ebay.
We were looking for a pre-owned Taylor or Martin acoustic guitar. We’re from out of town and had somewhere to be so we only had about 25 minutes to look around. At first everyone was nice while we looked around, both of our kids are involved heavily in music so they spent their time there trying out instruments to which the gentleman attending (I could assume owner) was kind and attentive. Until we turned down sale of a keyboard, at which point he decided to approach my autistic son while on a small drum kit and scream at him for being too big for it. I’m no fan of leaving places in handcuffs, so I didn’t cave in his face, I decided a well deserved poor review and exposure to the public what a peice of trash he is would suffice. Trying Dirt Cheap Music nearby instead.
*update following response from the owner
It is fair to say that your employee had a right to address the issue, but screaming and belittling an autistic child isn’t the way to go about it. Furthermore, my initial feelings of rage as a protective father are quite normal and my decision to take a more appropriate route is not something I am ashamed of in the slightest. Neither of them damaged anything and nothing was kicked or struck with any kind of force by either child. You responded defensively and completely missed the point. To scream at the child in an aggressive manner, autistic or not is unacceptable and the employee could have delivered the exact same message in a better tone and achieved far better results. I honestly can’t imagine any scenario that aggressively yelling at a person in your store achieves any positive results.
It was a great visit. People very charismatic! Some employees helped when I needed assistance very nicely. Thank you!
They could open more lines. Whats rhe purpose of having so many if you’re not going to utilize them during busy times….
Never have handicap buggies. Always end up going to a different store due to no handicap
It was ok
There is no self checkout, but other than that, it’s “ok”. The Deli has good wings, but they are not always plentiful. You have to get there when they are refilling the bins. The ranch wings go fast.
The staff are really busy, so they may seem like they are nonchalant, but they are just busy. They will help you if you ask.
The Subway on site is sub par. IJS
While visiting my daughter I was amazed at having to wait in one of 3 open lines for more than 30 minutes. If you are not going to allow for self check out OPEN MORE LINES! 5 minutes to find what I needed and another 30+ to get through the line.
SLOWEST!!!!!! Walmart in Atlanta!
This has to be one of the worst run Walmart stores in all of Atlanta. At peak hours only 3 checkout lanes out of 26 open with about 15-20 peoplein each line. And its like this EVERY TIME I shop here. It also seems as if this Walmart is the only one in Atlanta without self check out. It seems like a no brainer way to alleviate the constant long lines. Ive walked out several times rather than wait.
Great shop and good prices. Nice variety of used records and some interesting new stuff, too
Always nice selection, good prices and good people.
Always willing to travel to find a record store in whatever town I’m visiting, and coming to Georgia especially the Stone Mountain area, I found this gem and was blown away, great prices, huge selection and very very VERY helpful and knowledgeable service especially when it comes to music, if any of my record aficionados ever come down to Stone Mountain Georgia, please feel to drop in on this store and feel free to speak to Steve, he knows records and everything. Thank you again for the service !!!
The Record Loft deals in vintage used records only, which is more fun to dig through (in my opinion) but also means your mileage may very if you’re looking for something specific or contemporary. Solid selection of curated album-era rock, with some country, soul, & reggae. Relatively large selection of jazz records but I am not going to pretend to know enough to have an opinion as to quality. This is not a place to go looking for a steal— there’s definitely some nifty stuff but it is priced accordingly. Plenty of parking. Downstairs smells like cigarette smoke if you are sensitive to that kind of thing. All in all, it reminded me a little bit of Fantasyland in that it seems aimed at the established collector more than someone just getting into vinyl.
Still rude, you didn’t assist, never greeted, didn’t answer my AirPod until I received no greeting, me and him both spoke about ya disengaged attitude outside. Again, do better…instead of trying to debate online, learn to greet. As a business owner myself, I couldn’t care less if a customer comes in with the phone up to their ear, I STILL GREET THEM. I had an AirPod in, covered, thought it was self serve cause you continued to not assist, I then answered the call and began discussing how rude you were. Focus on service…
Very rude, I walked in, it was another gentleman that looked like me, whoever was working made it a point not to assist. Wasn’t greeted, wasn’t asked was I looking for anything particular, other customer asked a question, worked never looked up, just said he doesn’t hold items. I came to build up a collection, read the reviews thinking to receive the same service, and absolutely not. Avoid this store if you’re looking for assistance or even a welcome in…
Was super excited about finally checking out Record Loft. The store
associate working was plain out rude and unfriendly. Another customer noticed the same when i asked the store associate a question. My first First last visit. Terrible customer service. It was just awful.
I visited Record Loft today and the owner (presumably) was very rude to me. He said that any browsing in the $1 records is going to be limited to weekends. He also said it’s a waste of his time to watch someone for 2 hours only for them to buy $2 worth. I was there for forty minutes and spent $20… He also said that buying $1 records (which he willingly sells) doesn’t support the store. If you feel that way then don’t sell them at all!! I will not be back.

I was picking up a guitar pedal I ordered online. I met Logan in the guitar department. He is a super nice guy. Very knowledgeable and a professional musician. Thanks Logan!
The most of sale’s guys are nice and the manager is very nice. I am very impressed because they are honest and sincere. They care about customers and our needs than what they can earn from us. They are willing to give us discounts if we are not happy with something.
Very helpful staff
Milled around studying Yamaha arranger keyboards. Was never asked if I needed help during the 20+ minutes I was there. The other negative was that the demo keyboards seem to time out on the user after a few minutes. I guess the flip side of that is to curb “hams” who come in for uninvited perfomances.
Completa tienda de venta de guitarras y otros instrumentos musicales.
Good people to help you if they’re not already busy. Friendly, and they have a wide variety of equipment.
Left handed people play guitar but this company ignores us. Also sells cheap over priced Chinese tuners that don’t work.
Worst experience I’ve ever had at a Guitar Center. Will not be going back to this location. Had every intention of purchasing a guitar when I walked in.
Man what This store has me so irritated and annoyed. Poor customer service, poor knowledge on product, and poor quality with my experience. This store made me want a nap.
Alex Gordon is the upmost professional and truly a master artist in his craft. He has never disappointed myself or anyone that I have brought to listen to his music. I have had Alex play at a number of my restaurant operations over the last 5 years and he has always been my favorite, without question. So much so, I even had him play my own personal wedding reception 2 years ago. Deciding to work with Alex Gordon will never be a decision you will regret. The unique sound and artistry Alex creates is truly something to be celebrated by all who are fortunate enough to treat their ears to his gift.
Alex is an extraordinary talent that brings a great vibe to any event or gathering.
Alex is a gem! We had a very small party and he made our night so special without overwhelming the experience (my Dad is hard of hearing) with the beautiful music. His talent and poise is apparent and we enjoyed every minute.
Elexa is not only super knowledgeable but also so fun and easy to work with! If you’re looking to expand your child’s musical abilities look no further!!!! Thank you elexa!!!
This School Is Extraordinary! To Quote Arthur O’Shaughnessy – “They (We) Are The Music Makers, And They (We) Are The Dreamers of Dreams…”
This is a wonderful school that provides fun and high quality music lessons for kids in an individualized way. Everyone is highly qualified and excited about music!
