First, the best service and the they help you a lot and we’ll help you find instrument that you want and looking for and good prices and I like how they always let you try an instrument and they will offer to play it! And they will always have a good smile and greet you well! I think you will have fun going here I recommend going here to also very high Quality instrument and other items!!!!
Awesome owner very knowledgeable!!
Tons of guitars and other awesome instruments. Staff is cordial and polite.
This place was better in the past than it is currently. The employees were all sitting around in a circle talking and were clearly staring at me whilst I looked around at their selection of products. I was asked several times if I needed help finding anything to the point of annoyance. I told them numerous times that I was not shopping for anything specific and that I was there to look at their selection since I haven’t been there in years. Upon first glance, they moved their small selection of electric guitars into what was the acoustic guitar room (which is very small). They also moved all the acoustic guitars into the main area. Why? I understand that they may sell better there, but that room was literally engineered for acoustics. In addition, they put up signs asking for assistance for playing each guitar in the shop as well. I don’t think they can make it any harder to actually buy something here. Here are my recommendations for improvement. Employees should maintain a professional manner and not have mannerisms that resemble a lunch “get together” where you are sitting in a circle chatting with one another. Secondly, the acoustic guitars need to be in the acoustic room and the electric guitars need to be back in the main part of the store. The sole reason that room was constructed was for sound acoustics. Finally, listen to the customers. It’s evident when employees don’t listen to customers. In my case, I said that I did not need assistance, yet I was sequentially asked four or five times if I needed any.
A business on the way out. For the truth, read what Traci, Joseph, Steve, Randall, Libby, and Alfuquan had to say. For a better choice, and a store with a future, visit Georgia Music on Zebulon.
Manager is the worst kind of human being. Do not shop here. Would never go there again.
3. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
I’ve been a customer of Musician’s Warehouse since I owned the High Hat Music Club back in the 90’s and the owner, Ed MaGruder has always been a superstar. If he doesn’t have what your looking for, he can find it. And, if he can’t find it, you don’t need it.
Support Local and go see Ed.
Ran across them on Reverb. Ed responded fast and then I forgot our conversation. Then Ed messaged me to say. Hey, got the amp in and I’m headed to UPS. Do you still want it. And Boom got it in 2 days. Probably the greatest customer service I’ve ever encountered.
Went in for a tom mount, but they didn’t have the part. A guy named Ed (if I remember correctly) ordered the part for me on his Amazon prime account so it’d be delivered in 2 days, and i only had to pay the Amazon price. Much better store/customer service than Guitar Center.
These guys at MW are awesome, and I will be returning for any future purchases.
Check out the new location!
Professional assistance provided.
Very nice store but not a great variety of guitars
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
4. Hickory Wind Music
Address: 671-799 S City Blvd, Waycross, GA 31501 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Great place! Good people own it, they care about the town and the people. Always willing to help and work with customers. Good prices and good products. Variety and quality.
Billy is very helpful. He knows His stuff on musical instruments. He is also great to talk to you. Stanley
Very small shop has a large selection of guitars and amps not much in other musical instruments not a whole lot in books to learn how to play nothing in the line of piano lesson books or keyboard looked like nice selection of guitar strings and picks staff was friendly Just not a big store.
Had to return vapes 3xs
5. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Wonderful family run music store. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I’ve been goin here for years! It’s such an amazing place, great employees and awesome service! They got me started at drums and I always go to them for all my needs! I definitely recommend them!
Very helpful and nice ! Picked up some drumsticks
I like buying local. I got good service on a brass instrument repair. ( I didn’t try to use a pick )
Always pleasant – always professional and it’s been that way since I moved into the area!
I’ve read some of the complaints here and I’ve not had those experiences and I shop there a couple times a year. I also understand how smaller music stores value the integrity of their new products by trying to limit maring the guitar finish with picks. You wanna do that you’re right- go to Guitar Center.
First rate staff and ownership and first rate lessons with an experienced staff!
I’ll keep going back!
They have fair prices and a mini guitar-center-like selection of guitars. My only complaint is I felt pushed to make a sale when I looked at guitars.
Don’t go here. They have the worst service ever. I have a clarinet and the thumb rest broke, and I had to get a realignment for my bottom keys and they only fixed my thumb rest but took money for both realignment and my thumb rest. They didn’t fix both things but took charge for both. How pathetic.
Rude! Told them I was just looking around at the moment and was laughed at…. shameful behavior by talentless jokes!
Prices are a bit too high on certain instruments plus the employees are very nosey… If you respect personal boundaries go elsewhere.
6. Hardwick
Address: Midway-Hardwick, GA 31061 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
7. Attina’s Music Store Inc
Address: 155 Jonesboro Rd, McDonough, GA 30253 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
It is a good place to shop. Very honest about what it is you are looking to buy and helpful information on making your purchase.
Been shopping here for many years. Rented my Saxophone from Attina’s when I was in 5th grade! Stopped in to grab some guitar strings on this day. Staff super nice.
Best music store still around. Family based small businesses rock!
This is a small music instrument shop with a good selection of instruments ranging from guitars to band instruments like trumpet. They offer repairs for instruments. Not sure how well priced the repairs are but I did buy some books from for a pretty good price.
They are over priced and lame
They were friendly, but we kinda felt they were stand offish because my husband was asking all kinds of questions and we kinda felt that they was tired of being asked the many questions that my husband asked. They had a low selection of items and we felt that we was being pushed out of the store because he asked us a few times if we was ready to check out. So after a few times of being asked we checked out and left. Not sure if we will be going back or if we will make the hour trip to Fayetteville for all of our needs.
8. Starr Music Center
Address: 906 E 1st St, Vidalia, GA 30474 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Great prices, no pushy salesmen. You can take your time trying out instruments and looking around before making a selection.
Excellent business experience they close 10 minutes before I arrived but still unlocked and allowed me to purchase a Tony Stewart design guitar will definitely return for more business
Great selection for the guitar enthusiasts
A lil to high on prices
Good place
He’s not even open on time or was 10 am and I went at 11 and he wasn’t open if running a store run it right
Ordered a snare almost 40 days ago and my order still hasn’t been treated. They do not answer any mails or calls.
Awful. Went 2-3 different times in one day just to see all the lights on, the OPEN sign glowing and to try and open locked doors. Also called that morning about something specific, the guy told me to call back after 10 minutes…I do over and over….to get no answer all day. Smh
9. Attina’s Music Store Inc.
Address: 378 Glynn St N, Fayetteville, GA 30214 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
The guy that works there, I think the owner, is very nice. I’ve only been there twice and he definitely wants to help you get the perfect instrument. I brought my guitar there to change the strings and he told me there was something wrong with the bridge. So its there getting worked on. My other time I was there to get an acoustic guitar he told me the different types and showed me some and was very nice. Definitely a great place to go if you are getting an instrument or they can even give lesson. Definitely 5 star. I would give 10 if I could.
A very nice store thats familly owned and always happy to help.
Awesome people here. Great advice on a first guitar setup for our son. Fantastic guitar lessons, had him playing Metallica in a short period of time! Thanks John for your help!
Great experience and the employees with was super friendly
Less freedom then other music stores of the top of my head how about ” guitar center” which if you google it you will find it is
no-less then 10-11 drive which is not such a bad thing when they actually allow you to pick up the instruments but besides that IT IS JUST OK IF THAT’S WHAT YOU. LIKE.
Good selection
It was obvious that my presence was causing discomfort to the manager/cashier/whatever. I was not allowed to play a certain Epiphone Les Paul (not even a Gibson) because ‘they wanted to keep it clean’. I am a frikin professional guitarist with 11 years of experience and no music stores have ever denied me of handling an instrument. Highly offending for a first time visitor’s impression.
Go to Guitar Center and avoid this place, you’ll be glad you did.
Expensive, great variety
Guy was on phone the whole time…and we waited. Not sure this is the norm but it was my one and only visit
10. Midway-Hardwick
Address: Georgia 31061 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
11. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
I had a wonderful experience at this music store. It is the best I have come across since I moved to America. I recently bought a cajon from here, amongst other cool guitar equipment; and I am very pleased with each item. The customer service is phenomenal, and the variety of music is fantastic.
A store owned by great people with superior musical knowledge.
I absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves the art of music, and I am certainly going back!
I normally don’t leave reviews, but I had such a great experience with Town Center Music that I had to leave one. I went in to get a restring for my Taylor, but the technician recommended that I have a fret dress instead. I was experiencing buzzing on my guitar especially when I was playing with a Capo, but I hadn’t realized it was my frets that was causing the issue.
John Michael was the technician for my guitar. I was hesitant at first due to the difference in price, but he did a fantastic job explaining why it was important. I trusted him and when I received the guitar, it was in absolutely great condition and played beautifully without any buzzing whatsoever! The fret dress comes with a standard set up and polish, and it was worth the money. It feels great to play and I love the finish. I recommend people to come to Town Center Music for any repairs!
Had a great experience here recently. I bought a Squire Telecaster online and although it played ok out of box, but the action was pretty high and the intonation was off especially when using a capo. I contemplated setting it up myself. However, I really didn’t want to mess it up. I took it to the store, and left it for setup. I was told it would be done in about a week. Well, they had it done in 5 days and it is like night and day. Action was lowered without causing any buzzing. And the intonation is spot on. I can use a capo down to the 4th or 5th feet and notes are right on.
This store has gained a loyal customer.
Good
Taught my kids to play guitar
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Took down my review. Owner ultimately seemed to care about his customers. Too bad everything is so politically incorrect. Anyone still remember Archie Bunker?
But to clarify what idiot would try to exchange something opened, like a reed.
Amazon prime still winnnning.
Wow. Just called Town Center Music. Someone answered. I started asking about a guitar I’m looking for and got cut off mid-sentence by the guy talking loudly to a co-worker. When he stopped talking I said hello? Hello? Nothing. A few seconds later he hangs up.
Went in there a couple days ago. Not a huge fan. Workers aren’t very pleasant people and they come up to you every 10 minutes kind of giving you the hint to leave if you’re not gonna buy anything like you’re in there too long.
Great for beginners I guess. Don’t come in here expecting higher quality equipment and experience. Name of their game is to hook beginners onto cheap equipment (which is totally fine) and get you out. No hanging out in there jamming for an extended time.
Maybe I came in on a bad day.
12. Paulding Music Center
Address: 10175 Dallas Acworth Hwy # 121, Dallas, GA 30132 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Great place great service and the only one open on Sunday thank you so much
A great place to do business
Very helpful and good prices
Great customer service and good and understanding staff
Great owner named John Walsh. Very helpful and music instructors are the best
I hate that I had to give at least one star, there should be a no star button. I had mostly positive experiences here until this point. I bought a Planet Waves instrument cable from this establishment and it was defective. Granted it has been about 4 months, I asked to make an even exchange and they said, “No. You have to get with Planet Waves.” In order to get any help from Planet Waves I have a receipt. They have a record that I bought it, but won’t give me one. I can’t do business with a company that doesn’t back up its inventory.
Poor teaching, and don’t miss a lesson without notice, they will not understand and will continue to take your money.
I placed an order last week and I called today to find out what the status was and the gentleman told me there had to be a certain dollar amount for all the orders to be placed. Had I know this when i first placed the order I would have found another store.
13. Portman’s Music Superstore
Address: 5615 Altama Ave #2208, Brunswick, GA 31525 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Great selection of musical instruments! Bought a professional G Harmonica and plays well on stage!
Great service. Friendly people. Let me try out a RAT DISTORTION petal.
I will be back for purchace asap
My daughter’s cello string broke the day before a concert. They were kind enough to change the string out for us and tune it before letting us go.
Muy bien
When I was in school and school band this was my go to store for anything I needed. From my trumpet to my drumsticks it all came from here
Went today & bought a harmonica. The young lady said here ya go,
I said we need to test it before I leave , I swear she looked at me like I was a problem. .
Then on top of all that I discover I have been removed from their so called loyalty list.
Way to go Portman’s , you make it hard for me to be loyal to a local owned business.
P.S. – went to buy 2 harmonica’s today but they had every key but the key I needed .
How long do I have to stand there before you ask if I need help with anything? I’ll take my money somewhere else ✌
Lazy
14. Jennings Music & Education Center
Address: 3595 Canton Rd Suite 308, Marietta, GA 30066 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Bought my first trumpet here, and I have not regretted this decision!
A wonderful neighborhood music store. I’ve taken lessons there, bought instruments, equipment. etc. I just had my guitar repaired there – great job! Super knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend Jennings.
This business cares about customers, music, and kindness. I have experienced many examples of good service and I highly recommend them!
Edit: I was called the day of this review and my issues resolved within the week. I have never received such a quick response to a complaint and it counts for a lot in my mind. I can tell that their reputation and customer satisfaction is important. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt regarding my previous experiences and change my review. I’m not sure why the ball was dropped previously but they made sure to fix the problem and apologize. Everyone makes mistakes but their willingness to take responsibility and handle the situation was refreshing.
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! I signed up for a lease to own plan for a bass at this store. The plan is supposed to include repairs and a size upgrade because my son is 13 and still growing. About 8 months into the plan the bridge was broken on the bass (a simple fix) and I was told to expect 3 weeks for repairs. 3 weeks turned into several months. I had to start going in person everyday and basically harassing the staff to give him his bass. They never gave him his bass back. They gave him a very beat up bass and told me not to worry about the appearance as he would not keep this bass and would have one in better condition once the contract was up as the size would be upgraded. However, once I took the bass home to my son he informed me that this bass was smaller than the original one he was given and so he couldn’t practice at all. I informed the store of this in August, it is now January. The store is completely unresponsive and unless I start harassing them again, they’ll leave me with a product I can’t use but still charge me monthly for it.
Nice store. Very friendly and helpful. If I ever consider leasons for anything, I’d definitely consider them.
The people there are very friendly, courteous
Way over priced !!!!! My son in high school needed a mouth piece for his instrument. Jennings wanted to charge almost $70. You can get them for $20 in Kennesaw and YES they are acceptable and standard in the class room. Wow! I am so tired of this area trying to over charge.
These people were extremely rude and impatient this evening. I was trying to reach a salesman that left another store. I need a cello but I will not buy from these people. Instead of trying to sell me something they simply hung up in my face. I called right back thinking it was a mistake and they were not kind. They lack good communication skills and have no customer service skills at all. I was expecting them to say, “… the person you are looking for does not work here but we would love to assist you with a purchase”.
15. Megatone Music
Address: 44b Town Sq, Blairsville, GA 30512 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
My most recent purchase from Megatone was a vintage archtop guitar. Prior to that I purchased parts, strings, and small items. Regardless of the size of the purchase I was always treated well. During the process of buying this guitar I received friendly and helpful service. Never did I feel pressured to buy. I got a great instrument for a fair price. It was a complete pleasure to deal with these folks. A great store in the scenic mountain town of Blairsville.
I’ll mention off the top that Google maps parked me in front of a coffee shop that shares brick with Megatone. It’s there, just around the corner, facing the square.
Popped in at 18 til close on a Monday, stated I was there for a guitar tuner.. Found myself met with equal parts friendly and informative. Received full descriptions and pricing on at least four products before I interjected and said I’ll take the blue one.
I’m no officionado, but I did see some sort of interesting carbon fiberish guitar parked next to one with real funky hot rod flames on my way out. Pretty neat. Nice guy.
We found this absolute gem of a music store while traveling thru Blairsville.
This store is very clean, very good selection on all gear & the prices are more than fair.
The owner Darryl is very kind & will answer any & every question you have on anything in his store.
It was a real pleasure to do business with him.
I absolutely recommend this store to anyone that wants a great deal with friendly service.
Dealt with these people on reverb. They ignored my messages, refused a refund twice, once before it had shipped out because the dimensions weren’t right to fit on my guitar. Then after no response for months, I posted on their facebook and they deleted my post. These people are scammers and deceivers. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
Scammers. Associate Darryl is a nasty individual and scams his customers. Stay away from this business.
Even a simple order of a single item can turn into an issue with this place. Save yourself the hassle and do not associate with this business.
16. Ken Stanton Music
Address: 3636 Dallas Hwy SW, Marietta, GA 30064 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Excellent customer service, knowledgable employees, great prices. No other music store has my business!
are you qualified to appraise the value of a strativarious violin?
Awesome service and great advice! Purchased an Epi Les Paul with hard case. West Cobb store.
Smaller than the one on Cobb parkway. Friendly staff. No complaints. Just a pretty limited selection.
I find it hard to believe a store would go out of their way to lose a potential sale. I live in Carrollton Georgia so I don’t get out there much and I asked to exchange an un-used microphone I purchased from them (over 90 days ago) for another item. They told me no. That’s basically it. Who says that to a potential customer? I know your starving for business but ok I’ll purchase elsewhere from now on. I like companies that are interested in my business. I recommend Willcutt guitars
Wasn’t able to be in this store for 5 minutes trying to find my 4 year old an instrument to learn without two of the employees hounding him to not touch anything. As a professional musician trust me I have my son trained to be careful around expensive instruments. I also picked up a guitar to play and think about purchasing it but the guy told me they are supposed to bring it down and hand it to me, I said I know how to handle a guitar and he says “not a $1,300 guitar” I’ll take my business elsewhere.
Staff is helpful to get the sale but be careful… Merchandise is expensive and there’s no returns because of Covid. They don’t tell you about that detail before you spend your money!
17. Music & Arts
Address: 119 Cobb Pkwy N, Marietta, GA 30062 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
I rarely review places but was truly impressed by their customer service.
Really the best/only local metro Atlanta music chain. Always cheaper than buying online.
Best Music store in the South East!!! Great customer service both phone and in person. Picked up a Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul and had several to choose from! Store is loaded with stock (guitars, effects, etc.)!!! I drove 4 hours from Tallahassee FL to get this guitar. Worth the trip!!!!!! My new go to store for all music needs!!!
They always have the right drumsticks and reeds.
Recently started teaching myself guitar, after over 30 years owning one and never learning. My guitar needed new strings and they explained how to install them. Didn’t try to sell me anything else, although I’m sure they would’ve been more than happy to. Recently went into a Guitar Center and got horrible service; false advertising issue. I will return to Ken Stanton Music whenever necessary.
Nice place, nice workers, but, sometimes, the prices are higher than Guitar Center on the same products.
Good prices….. but no experts:/
The staff just tries to make a quick sale!
Overall staff has been friendly and accommodating but I felt mislead about the rental process. I rented my daughter a 3/4 violin three years ago. I had to upgrade it to a 4/4 in her third year.
The associate didn’t tell me that the contract started fresh and I was on the hook for another three years worth of payments. I just kept being charged. I was finally able to return it due to covid. I mentioned the situation to the sales associate and all I got was I’m so sorry to hear that. It shouldn’t have happened that way. No offer to refund some monthly payments, etc. technically the violin should have been mine after paying for it for three years. Live and learn. So just be careful and make sure you read all of the fine print. Make them explain each step and that you understand it. Don’t have the wool pulled over yours eyes.
Came in for the first time with a couple of my friends to try some amplifiers, brought my own guitar. There was a gentleman whose desk is on the right near the electric guitar shelves that would not stop staring at us as we looked at the guitars. I asked him if I could have a power supply and he asked me what I was doing and why before pretty rudely explaining that the amp I was looking at didn’t work and that I needed to go to the amp room. After we waited a few minutes to use it because it was already occupied, he would not stop staring at us from his desk (which is right outside). I asked him for a power supply a second time because he didn’t get me one the first time and he got visibly upset and started ranting about how the amps are plugged in and I don’t need a power supply, until I told him it was for my pedal. He then told me I needed to take my case up front because they don’t want people stealing (I didn’t know this because it was my first time being there and nobody said anything to me about it when I came in). I’ve been to many music stores, but this one definitely made me feel the most uncomfortable, we didn’t even feel like playing anymore so we just left. Very nice guitar selection, but terrible customer service.
18. Allseasons Music Store
Address: 460 W Cherry St, Jesup, GA 31545 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Moved to the area last year from a big town and it was hard to find a music store with friendly staff and when I visted Mr Jerry Lee’s it was a blessing has everything I need and words of wisdom. I look forward to making this my store.
The Best!!!!
I can quickly see this music shop becoming my favorite in the area. It’s a small shop, but the selection is pretty good and Jerry is very friendly and knowledgable. The laid back atmosphere makes this a really good place to come try out instruments and explore. Music lessons and a recording space are also offered at this shop. I don’t have experience with either, but judging by the quality of service I received as a customer, I’d be willing to bet they’re both pretty good choices for anyone wanting to learn something new or lay down some tracks.
Nice people. They also offer classes at reasonable prices for any aspiring musicians.
Neat little music shop with some quality products. Not a huge selection, but they have what you need.
I just dropped off my daughters trumpet for a stuck valve. I was promptly greeted with a friendly smile. When I get the horn back I will up date my review.
If you are into electric guitars, the selection is very limited, and even the ones in stock had problems.
20. Ponce De Leon Music Center
Address: 1060 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040 , Hardwick , Georgia , United States
Friendly staff. I had an old guitar cleaned up, new strings and more. Very responsible pricing. Highly recommended.
Nice music store.
Great lessons available, Chris Martin is the bomb, I hear good things about the other instructors as well
Great Store
Maestros profesionales
Muy surtido y los precios muy razonable
The customer service is awful I definitely won’t be back there every again
Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.
