The volunteers are wonderful and they provide a great service to the Harlem community.
Love the prices
Awesome! They helped me purchase several toys for my little ones with no fuss on what i had to spend. Truly wonderful people I will definitely be back!
I love Attic Treasures, every time I get to go I find awesome bargains and I have been shopping here for 12 years.
Nice people with fair prices
Always good deals especially last Friday of the month
I don’t go in there very often, but when I do I find some great purchases. I will definitely think twice before going back. The cashier made a scene, calling me out very rudely for not stopping at the stop sign before approaching the counter. Before I had the chance to apologize and tell her that I had come from the toy side where there is not stop sign she loudly corrected me and made sure I knew that I understood that they had 4 of them posted. Had I known that was the procedure, I would have had no problem following their rules, but there was no one in line to check out and no stop sign on my way to the register. I wanted to ask about purchasing the silver table but at that point I was embarassed and just wanted to get out of there. All I am saying is that if the mission of this business is about spreading good will, their staff should be more discrete and less petty when interacting with their customers.
Karen is rude the way she speak to me, it made me feels like a child so instead of me buying something I end up putting it back.
One of the brown hair shoulder length cashier’s purposefully over charges customers. I watched her do it on 2 separate occasions.
GREAT MUSIC STORE for any instruments, instrument parts, and accessories. Reasonable prices and quality products.
Excellent service by Ceith Clay!! He was professional, knowledgeable and thorough. I couldn’t ask for a better customer service experience. Thank you
Great Service
Friendly, helpful service. Large selection, good quality equipment
Been a customer for years. I feel very comfortable everytime I step foot in the classic Portman double doors. But here’s the thing, musicians evolve….musicians learn, and strive to become better everyday. Musicians like new top of the line gear. Portmans just doesn’t cut it for me. If I need equipment, I go through Austin. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the authority to order what he needs. And it’s obvious he and every drummer in town get the respect we deserve, by playing the stuff we want. We want top of the line cymbals. We want sticks that aren’t drift wood…not Zildjian sticks. Let the drum guy….BE THE DRUM GUY.
They have a great selection of instruments and lessons for them! Great staff, very friendly.
I went in to buy a guitar. I wanted an American Stratocaster. They had a very small inventory, and the few that I might have been interested in were hung too high to get a good look at. The salesperson finally asked if I wanted him to get one down, but since he needed a stool to reach them I said no. I didn’t want someone to have to climb up and down for each instrument I would like to hold. I left without looking at any guitars. This was the Augusta store. The Savannah store is much better. The instruments are more accessible there. I bought a Gibson acoustic there two years ago. I bought a Fender American professional Strat from another store two days after my visit to Portman’s Augusta store.
Horrible Service – This is the WAL MART of music stores.
The equipment and sales team are cordial and helpful.
My son took guitar lessons- WHAT A JOKE! after $160,00 and 6 weeks he knew nothing more than when he started, when I asked why, I couldn’t get a straight answer.
I’d suggest that you not fly blindly into this money pit. Although I noted some good teachers, if you get a bad one, portman’s will NOT make it right.
They could care less if you get good instruction or bad instruction.
BEWARE
All in your face wouldn’t let us look around and in a hurry to get us out

Amazing service, knowledgeable staff, and timely repairs. Great store for all your instrument needs!
The most experienced and intelligent band instrument repair staff in Augusta! You can also get hot tea of your choice while you wait, and personalized service from the owner Kirkwood Deal, a lost touch in the 21st century.
Always go here for any needs my daughter has when it comes to orchestra. Never had any issue at all. Was we in band and orchestra at the same time! I know, it’s a lot but her flute happen to need a new pad and it was only a week or 2 before her concert (last school year, again I know.. I’m late posting this! Sorry) we went straight there after school one day they told us no problem to fix it and we rented her one for time being. The time it took to fix was a lot faster than we expected! It was like new again! And she had sound! They saved the day! We have never had an issue. It has been awhile from last time we went seeing how we own her instruments but if we need anything this is the only place we go! Staff is friendly and always answer any questions I have even the dumb ones! I know.. Their great cause I can have some dumb questions! Lol
Very helpful staff. Excellent choices for piano teaching books.
I dropped off a violin to be repaired in winter of 2021. I called February 2022 asked about it and said “it must have gotten pushed to the back.” Then said they’d start working on it. It is now June 2022 and has yet to be repaired. When I went to pick the violin up because I had yet to be contacted by them, the gentlemen handed me the violin without any explanation or apologies.
I have come here for some of my repairs before…but today was the first time I’ve ever seen a business have a sign saying they’re open with the door locked and have on the door saying “I’m in the back working on something at the moment and please wait 10 minutes. If 10 minutes have passed, please read the sign again.” Some customers may have the ability to do so. However, unfortunately my situation is where I have to use a knee scooter due to a disability and had to depend on someone for a ride. I just think thats bad business practice and me personally will have to think twice due to my circumstances.
Gentlemen upfront extremely nice(thank you for your help and knowledge). I explained the situation and since my employment seemed sketchy I understood. I agreed to do the credit check which is not a soft inquiry it is a hard inquiry which stays on your credit for 2 years and deducts 5 points. But still trying to explain very nicely my situation(never vulgar or raised my voice) the heavy man in back said and I quote “I am not trying to get verbal with you and threaten you in front of your son”. Anyone who has had their identity stolen understands. But I do not appreciate being threatened.

Brody was very helpful when I came in the store looking for drum sticks. The staff at this location is very friendly and knowledgeable. If you need guidance they will help you.
Cute small music place, we were able to try out some instruments. Piano, guitars, bass, drums, ukulele
Staff is super friendly and willing to work with you to find exactly what you need at a fair, sometimes even negotiable, price.
Local staff is absolutely fabulous!
Kind and helpful each time I’ve visited. They have gone above and beyond to help us with purchases questions and repairs.
BUT, this is a big nationwide company so when it comes to billing questions or issues you have to call thier customer service line and that is always a big hassle in my experience. You can’t update cards and such online, the wait time to speak to anyone has always been 30+ minutes for me and they often give inaccurate information on pricing and/or billing dates.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for the employees in the actual store being so awesome I’d just go through a different company for my child’s band rental, but they really are that good that I’m willing to overlook the corporate problems
Very helpfu, knowledgeable, professional staff
