5. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 5485 Westmoreland Plaza, Douglasville, GA 30134 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
I love, love this place. I go here for all of my grands musical needs. The staff is very kind & option. Jackson’s Music store also offers à variety of private lessons. We come here weekly for voice lessons.
Very knowledgeable. My son got his school instrument. Different payment plans.
Well stocked store, lots of good bargains, & a courteous staff.
Music is awesome
Very knowledgeable
I was greeted when i came in.. great!! It was my 2nd time there, I usually go Guitar Center in Marietta, to a much bigger store. But after i was helped I felt as if i was being followed around the store. Evertime Id go around the corner, the guy from the front desk would pop up behind me 39 seconds later. That WASN’T good customer service… NOT the way you wanna feel as a customer, as if you’re a threat to take something. Smdh
Went in to look for an acoustic guitar, amp and some cables. Employee with beard and glasses kept following me around but wasn’t saying anything. It felt weird so I left.
People there are polite enough, but have no business sense, if you’re not familiar with the music industry they will belittle you. Do not sell equipment to them, they only do consignment (which is a very outdated idea imo), and offer a 70/30% which is higher than typical music shops.
6. Dannys Music
Address: 1601 Baytree Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
Great selection of instruments for beginners and even more experienced players also offer lessons
Why on earth does this place have bad reviews?? I just went in super nervous to get the first guitar I’ve owned since I was a child and I was met with the nicest, most caring and friendly two people I’ve ever met! I didn’t feel like a stranger at all. It’s nice and clean in there and they’re very honest. The guitars are priced really fairly. And he can answer a lot of questions a beginner would have! I’m definitely going back.
I’m not sure what the negative reviews are on here for. As a first time customer who reads all of the reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Folks… Mr. Danny and his wife were very respectful, and very kind. Not one second did I feel pressured, or uncomfortable in their store. Mr. Danny and his staff are very knowledgeable and strive to meet their customers needs at whatever level of musical experience walks through the door. If you walk in their thinking that you are the all knowing musical expert, you’d better know what you’re talking about. Mr. Danny has been doing this for a long time and he can spot someone who’s trying to take advantage of him. Thank you Mr. Danny, you have earned my business!
Great ! Large selection of instruments and friendly service !
The four stars is for the very friendly young staff*
Danny is a really good guy but he could do a little better on his prices but all an all he’s a really good guy! Nice shopping experience
Owner and employees are rude, pushy and didn’t listen to what we were saying. I had to go get my mom out of the car to correct the situation.
I came to the Store today in hopes of speaking with the owner in regards to music lessons for my sons, music lessons for me, purchasing a keyboard, as well as having my viola tuned, which I brought with me. I saw that the sign stated they service items purchased from them. I asked if it was something that I didn’t purchase from him, would he be able to show me how to tune it myself. He said no, I can’t show you how to do that. I’m sorry. I can do it for you but we charge for it. I wasn’t looking for a handout and I figured as much so that was fine. He continues to say that we would have to do it between customers, so I told a guy that walked up he could go before me. He proceeds to say I work here, I’m looking around for the customers and there are none. So at this point, I’m confused as to what imaginary customer he’s speaking of. I’m irate at this point and just tell my partner and kids that we can take our business elsewhere and let him deal with his empty store. He says as we are walking out, that he has to do it between customers because there were lessons being held in the back, but there were TWO workers in the front, and I just needed my strings tuned. That’s it! He didn’t even offer to look at it. So no thanks. If I could give zero stars, I would. Are we not important enough to be customers as well? Our money is just as green and our love for music is probably higher than most so as politely as I can, your terrible.
Dear Danny. You seem to forget that we can purchase products online with free shipping and return them if we don’t like it. Your store rules are too much and your staff is too high pressure. The only reason to visit the store is to try the product in person. Your rules hinder this and therefore ruins your business. We are not bulls in a china shop. We are your customers. (We used to be your customers)
7. Ken Stanton Music
Address: 3636 Dallas Hwy SW, Marietta, GA 30064 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
Knowledgable and friendly staff. Great customer service.
Taylor-814ce-SB-DLX —- Blessed and Happy!!
Zack and Jesse, Thank you so much for every little thing that you two did to make this purchase sound and easy. DSM Zack went above and beyond to give me the guitar of my dream. I highly recommend anybody who is trying to get any musical instrument to the Ken Stanton Music. Their service is rich and enormous.
My story: I was looking for a Taylor 714ce Sunburst guitar. I didn’t get the exact guitar that I wanted but Zack helped me to get 814ce-Sunburst-DLX in very discounted price. These guitars were very limited. They even helped me with rebates, financing and all. They wanted me to save money from every way possible. I encouraged every individuals who is looking to get an instrument to check out their deals and their advice. They treat and take care of their customer in a very well manner.
I have always been shown fantastic customer service by every member of their staff. They know music and the equipment they sell. They’re not pushy, and they show that they really care that you get the best experience from your purchase. Highly satisfied!
Smaller than the one on Cobb parkway. Friendly staff. No complaints. Just a pretty limited selection.
Staff is helpful to get the sale but be careful… Merchandise is expensive and there’s no returns because of Covid. They don’t tell you about that detail before you spend your money!
I find it hard to believe a store would go out of their way to lose a potential sale. I live in Carrollton Georgia so I don’t get out there much and I asked to exchange an un-used microphone I purchased from them (over 90 days ago) for another item. They told me no. That’s basically it. Who says that to a potential customer? I know your starving for business but ok I’ll purchase elsewhere from now on. I like companies that are interested in my business. I recommend Willcutt guitars
Wasn’t able to be in this store for 5 minutes trying to find my 4 year old an instrument to learn without two of the employees hounding him to not touch anything. As a professional musician trust me I have my son trained to be careful around expensive instruments. I also picked up a guitar to play and think about purchasing it but the guy told me they are supposed to bring it down and hand it to me, I said I know how to handle a guitar and he says “not a $1,300 guitar” I’ll take my business elsewhere.
8. Atlanta Musicians Exchange
Address: 2619 Lawrenceville Hwy, Decatur, GA 30033 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
I have an antique Japanese shamisen (looks like a skinny banjo) that needed refurbishing — new skins, new strings, tightening of joints, etc. I brought it to Mike at Atlanta Musicians Exchange, and he found a specialist to work on it. The results were amazing! The piece is now beautiful again, and I will display it proudly. Happy to recommend this shop for repairs of even exotic instruments!
Bought a saxophone and a flute for my daughter at good deal. Very humbled gentleman and easy to work with. There are a lot of other musical instruments at good quality too. Will come back.
Great little music shop. They got everything you need to get started at fair prices. Anytime my kids want to learn a new instrument I’ll be going here.
The repair shop sucks
Horrible Customer service and NOT HELPFUL!! Instead of helping we with appropriate prices for my gear, I was ridiculed by the prices I thought might be appropriate. A ‘good luck with selling your stuff at those prices’ is all I got. I don’t appreciate the attitude and lack of consideration. All they could have said was ‘those prices are higher than market currently…have you thought of selling them for $$$$?’. Unfortunately the response I got causes me to NEVER want to shop at this place. Sellers BEWARE.
I spoke with the most racist person that I’ve come across in a long time, I think it was the owner. My child called the store on the 4th of July (several times because he is a child and did not realize that businesses are actually closed on the 4th of July). I was unaware that he called so many times. The following day I received a VERY nasty and distasteful message on my voicemail. When I returned the call, I wasn’t even given a chance to speak. He was yelling, using profanity and hung up on me. I will definitely tell everyone I know not do business here and I do not recommend doing business here (especially people of color). I will also post it on my social media pages. There are far too many Music stores that actually respect their customers.
After looking at other reviews, it seems that the owner is just a jerk by nature. I didn’t even see any responses to good reviews, only negative ones. So apparently you enjoy tounge wrestling. I feel sorry for the people that have to deal with you daily. Bless you anyway sir.
Update: Every business was NOT closed. I didn’t call my son did several times. You left a nasty vm on MY phone. And who has no class?? It’s definitely you…
9. Music Trader
Address: 3964 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
I haven’t physically been a customer or walked inside this store but contacted them to discuss what type of equipment I could purchase to be able to record my noisey neighbors who live above me. I was able to speak w Paul and he was ahhhhhhhhmazing! He didn’t take advantage of the situation or try to build dollars for the store revenue. He asked questions on what I’d be doing with it … gave me a frank & honest opinion based off his personal experience which I very much appreciated. It is refreshing to come across people who really do look out or care for those who are not just their customers but simply just helping another human being!
The best! Paul is a total expert, and his prices are extremely reasonable.
It is a good shop. Paul is a good guy. They’re are often hidden gems.
I was treated very rudely by the “manager”. I refuse to ever give this establishment my business ever again. I buy used musical equipment, and a lot of it, and I’ll never spend my cash here again, no matter how desirable the inventory is.
Worst place I’ve ever stopped up this place is super racist I don’t see myself coming back in to a clutter filled place with bad customer service
Prices to high for old equipment
10. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
Staff is always super friendly and always helpful! We love this place!
Good variety
Great service & huge selection A super place to get instruments, trade old gear, or sell unused musical items
Awesome selection of gear that is always changing!
The staff is always very friendly. I enjoy looking at the stock of used and vantage guitars. I’m always hoping to find the hidden gem.
I hadn’t been in a music store in 20 years. Lots of gear, friendly salespeople but not pushy at all.
Cool if you’re looking for music gear but terrible place to sell, all these guys do is low ball you and try to make as much profit on your gear as possible. Would give a better review if your employees weren’t so stuck up. They’ll be happy to take your money though anytime.
The selection of instruments was fantastic and the employees were very friendly and helpful. We picked up a nice Jackson “Shattered Mirror”. The reason for 2 stars is that they changed the price tag on it. Not the price, just the tag. The original tag was thick with price sticker over price sticker. This made it obvious that the guitar had been in the store a while. We left to get the money for it and when we got back it had a single sticker.
The problem is there is usually a little room to play on price. But I was.told that there was nothing they could do because they only had it for three days.
Why argue – it’s their house? We just wont visit again.
Came in an hour before close to sell some gear. A couple of things:
1. Staff/atmosphere: The staff wasn’t very welcoming and made their annoyance known about me trying to get an appraisal an hour before close.
2. Accessibility: all the amps were disconnected, making it inaccessible to try out guitars.
3. Prices/trade-in value: They have a USA-made vintage guitar listed for $599. They barely offered me $200 for an almost identical guitar (same year, same condition) and claimed that “$200 is what they go for.”
Only reason I’m rating two stars instead of one is because they do have a good variety of instruments.
11. Dirt Cheep Pro Audio & Musical Instruments
Address: 2415 S Cobb Dr SE, Smyrna, GA 30080 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
The most brutally HONEST place I’ve ever purchased from. I’ve been shopping here since 2011 and I’ve never been displeased. Everyone there is knowledgeable and doesn’t try to upsell equipment for a quick dollar. Mark especially makes every shopping experience worth it. I’ve purchased 2 microphones, interfaces, studio reflection filters for acoustics, mic cables, mic stands, pop filters, and etc. ALL LASTING PURCHASES!!! If I want to trade in older gear I get TOP DOLLAR! Unlike Sam Ash Music and garbage ass guitar center, these guys know the business and want each customer to be happy with each purchase. It doesn’t matter if I spend $25 or $500+, the experience is always a great one.
Great selection of used and new gear. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and even have some professional recording experience, with a strong emphasis on digital processing and systems. Apple and Mac pros. Prices are great. Have some gear at great prices…very helpful guys. Give them a try.
Dirt Cheap Music usually one of them stores, that other store don’t have like products you are looking for with a good price, just gotta love it! !
A good place to go when looking for reasonable equipment, the service is good.
A wide variety of instruments and equipment, and all at reasonable prices. I found a tabla drum for $45 and they were able to give me an educator’s discount. I will definitely be going again. The store was a bit untidy, but not problematic at all.
Always find what you need and more…Steve is awesome exceed expectations
Hours are not good for shopping.
It is NOT dirt cheep!
Terrible quality even for the low price, employees work for commission, talk you into buying things you don’t need. I bought a viola there, and it was good since I had just begun. Two years later the thing sucks.
12. Firehouse Guitars & Music
Address: 612 Medlock Rd, Decatur, GA 30033 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
I have bought from this place many times and have taken lessons and I am happen without the service and the instructors have passion about what they teach.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Small store, but they have a lot to look at and sell quality brands, new and used.
Great shop to take lessons and pick up gear. Staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. Gotta love the local homegrown music shops!
This is a pretty good little store. I bought my guitar and amp here
Rip off.go elsewhere. I use to really like bringing my daughter here but they must be under new management. Prices have gotten ridiculous!!!
13. Pro Music Outlet Inc
Address: 4135 Lavista Rd Suite 210, Tucker, GA 30084 , Henderson , Georgia , United States
This store is the best!!! Great people!!! Great vibe!! Great attitudes!!! Great equipment!!! Great deals!!!! All the above great!! Need something pertaining to music “Start Here”!!
Great people great service!
The best and honest music store in Atlanta Ga. I’ve had nothing but the best experience over the years!
. Very respectful best prices and most important real customer service!!!
Cool people
I needed my hard drive recovered so they recovered it but deleted everything which I don’t believe was necessary just easier. They did put a lot of programs on my Mac but they are all antiquated except 1 and not only that they made it seem like they were putting so much on there but most of the plug-ins need authorization too plus my computer is running way slower than before but Iam glad it’s running and thankful for the programs that do work.
Real feel kinda place
Great place if you want to buy equipment. Not so much if you want to sell your items . I’ve called the owner about some things I wanted to sell to this location, each time the owner lied and said he wasn’t there or he would call back tomorrow. Very unprofessional if you ask me , if you don’t want to do something just say it .. don’t lie to a customer.
These people cap Smh. Sold me a 100 mic.
In I end up looking it up smh this same mic is 22.dollars on Amazon. I Took it back right away
Alllllll Cap Over there look up the merchandise prices before u bye
I learn my lesson
Never open, when I visit
UPDATE:
I have visited 4 times, during business hours, only to find a sign saying there are closed for a break.
