People are very nice here. Make you enjoy learning music.
I havw been a student here for around a decade and I love Fiat!!!!
Very knowledgeable on instruments
The place is decent but it could be better. They should clean up the old stuff that clatters the hall and dust the pianos. Also, the lesson room definitely could use some improvement in terms of the pianos and acoustics. They should tune them and apply new insulation. I think the lesson room is a bit too small.
Good store and nice service
Junky store and over priced better deals online
I would give this place negative stars if I could. Went In to actually buy a guitar, started playing an acoustic softly and got asked to leave at 12:30 in the day. If you can’t play a guitar, how can you know which one to buy? No lessons going on either. Treated like a piece of S*** and All I wanted to do was give them business. Terrible experience, terrible establishment.
I brought in my guitar to have it restrung and it took them four days to turn it around, they didn’t even tune it. The associate who I left it with was really unorganized and, when I picked it up, they didn’t ask for my work order slip or any info—anybody could have walked in and left with it. This was my first time using their services and I likely won’t go back.
3. Rockin’ Robbie’s

I love this store! Great friendly knowledgeable staff and amazing products. Can’t wait to be a repeat customer.
I’ve been going to this local shop since I was eight. Fantastic shop with an extremely knowledgeable staff. Don’t buy anywhere else!
I entered the shop to browse for a ukelele. The new owner Robin attended to my needs. She had a very pleasant and trusting personality. Very calm and helpful. I happily bought a ukelele that day after i tried several types and brands. I highly recommend this place. I usually do not write comments but my experience was so beautiful so i am writing one.
Small shop, packed with instruments, fear and accessories. Helpful, knowledgeable, informative and priced competitively with online suppliers. Good quality gear and instruments of every kind: guitars, ukelele specialists, band instruments, amps & PA systems. I bought a Peavy MX-158 bass amp after testing every small amp in the store.
Super nice people. Mostly never crowded. Great selection. Nice consignments too.
The equipment they sell is great, and music lessons are the best!
This place has hardly any guitars there Used Guitars are way overpriced it’s like a big cluster mess in that place
4. Down Home Music Store
Address: 10341 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530 , Hercules , California , United States
Another “secret weapon” record store that keeps my vinyl collection hip & growing. I have found some treasures here.
Peace
Best record store, no one close!
Cool record shop featuring CD’s to the left room & vinyl on the right. Looked through the blues, jazz, soul/funk sections & they carry a varied selection at fair pricing. Some of the new cd’s were under $10. Cashier was friendly. He gave me a good deal on the 3 postcards i purchased. Will definitely be back to browse some more.
Pretty vast selection of records. New arrivals seem priced a bit on the high side, but I did find some jems and a clutch of well-priced LPs in the 2nd/main LP room. Super friendly staff.
Amazing record store – one of the few great ones left I am sure! If you are looking for something obscure in American traditional music (and more) this is The Place To Go.Fun! Knowledgeable staff will help you find what you want. Give yourself plenty of time to browse and a budget for all the great things you will discover and want to go home with
It is a sardine can (to small). You have to go out side to change your mind.

Cool little record shop nice selection of old and eccentric music
This is a nice small curated record store. Fun spot to dig through.
Best new shop in the Bay. Great prices and helpful knowledgeable staff. Great funk, soul, jazz spot with a listening station. Great great record shop
Nice vibe, nothing too over priced.
I stopped by during my visit back home a few weeks ago. It may be a small shop but it’s got a lot to offer. I picked up some wonderful albums. Shout out to the clerk who just let me listen to records for those few hours that I was there!
Great, wide ranging vinyl collection at every price point. Christopher will even help you get your old turntable fixed! A conscious businessman and a good neighbor. Check it out!
Do they appreciate the music they sell?
6. Berkeley Musical Instrument Exchange
Address: 2923 Adeline St, Berkeley, CA 94703 , Hercules , California , United States
This is the best Musical Instrument shop for miles around. The are guitars, Cuban tres, a string bass, accordions, marimbulas, classical guitar, flamenco guitar, repairs, knowledge, and warm people.
Great service and repair.
Just bought two guitars, a Montalvo flamenco and acoustic Guild. Love the friendly service and low key atmosphere. Not many choices but great quality.
Nice little used instrument store. Really neat to see the workshop visible in the back.
