Very exciting to have this new store here in town! Great location for local musicians and learners, band students, recording studios and anyone who loves music. I have attended 3 different live music events so far, and it’s very enjoyable for listening. My guys have purchased items for their guitars and, oh, a guitar! The owners and staff are wonderful.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the All Things Music store in town, and it was an absolute delight! The moment I walked in, I was met with an atmosphere alive with musical energy. This store is genuinely a paradise for music enthusiasts. The layout is meticulously designed, ensuring effortless navigation and exploration of various sections. The staff’s passion and expertise added a personalized touch to my experience. Having All Things Music in Valley Center is truly a great addition.
The staff was so kind and eager to help. I was very impressed by the variety of instruments that they carry. I cannot wait to visit again!
I came the first week they opened to ask for information about violin and singing classes for my daughter, a man took care of me and wrote us down on a piece of paper without giving us any importance and said he would call us. HE NEVER CALLED US, I decided to call a month and a half later and it turns out that he already had classes available for who knows when, offering us the worst schedules that he had left over.

I’ve been taking singing lessons with Jazzmine Farol for about a year now and it’s been an incredible experience. While working with Jazzmine I’ve learned so much about myself as a singer and a performer. She’ll always make sure you leave feeling proud and confident of the work you put in. I never thought I’d improve drastically, but thanks to this talented artist, and her many ways of teaching, I can definitely say the work pays off <33
All four of my kids have been taking guitar lessons with Jasmine for years and I could not be happier with their progress. She’s incredibly talented, as a teacher and performer, and our family adores her. Thank you and highly recommend!
My wife had found a free (HaHa) left handed guitar for my granddaughter.
We stopped at B&H to get a case for it. Joseph noticed it had the incorrect strings on it. Understanding as a former musician, I had him restring the guitar. He also suggested a capo, so my very short granddaughter could learn to play.
Arriving at my son’s house, we were treated by my grandson and granddaughter spontaneously practicing together.
Thank you again Joseph, and B&H Music, for how you do business.
I bought a Fender beginner guitar with case from Joseph for a very fair price. He carries some B stock guitars which are perfectly fine quality except for some minor blemish. Perfect for a beginner.
I later bought a beginner Cordoba classical which was also B stock bargain and was what I needed for my class at Palomar College.
Good, knowledgeable people. I always like supporting the local Escondido businesses.
They also have a rent to buy plan.
Small shop with loads of customer service! I like shops where you can ask anything and not feel you need to be an expert on the subject.
Items were not priced but service was fast. Manager had to look up the price for the music stand.
not playing with a full deck here last year I had some work done on a guitar and the bald guy told me it needed a special tuner — No I am not off the boat and been doing this for 40 years any way when I checked the manufactures statistics it said any tuner would be fine…NOT PLAYING WITH A FULL DECK…
Not a good music store. They have guitars and ukuleles and those parts, but hardly anything for band instruments. I asked for replacement parts for a trumpet and they never got them. They don’t carry much for flutes either. Maybe they’re just better for stringed instruments, but they certainly shouldn’t be called a general music store if they don’t carry supplies for a variety of instruments. They have a few maintenance supplies for trumpet, but they really aren’t for band instruments.

8. James Hood Guitar Repair
Address: 2750 Auto Park Way Suite 19, Escondido, CA 92029 , Hidden Meadows , California , United States
“I loved the service! Personal service from a team of people that seem to really enjoy what they do. Very good quality work on all of my guitars that James Hood Guitar Repair has done for me. I will continue to be a satisfied customer! Thank you!”
I break ’em and they fix ’em. Always great quality work, fair price and just nice people to do business with.
Good work. I had a crack filled on my classical guitar. It took 2 months. I couldn’t tell the crack was there. They also polished the guitar nicely and made the tuning machines look new. I thought they were replaced at first. It looked as if the frets/fingerboard were polished too. The only downside is Mr. Hood seemed to have a lot of projects going on at once. He seemed stressed out when calling. Other than that, nice shop. Nice presentation and instruments for purchase.
I broke the neck off my Les Paul.A few miscommunications with the desk about timing, but we’ll worth it given the craftsmanship. Tucker did an amazing job! Can hardly tell it was in two pieces!
What I like most about James and Nigel and his staff is if he overlooks something he will admit he’s made a mistake and then just as important..fix it. It’s hard for me to trust people who never apologize or..admit they may have made a mistake. Seems to me it would be hard to satisfy some of us picky pickers.
Took in my Historic J-45 Gibson acoustic guitar. Requested a new neck nut and new bridge saddle if needed and set up. New nut was requested because of intonation problems and string slots being cut too deep. Then I specifically asked the guys in the shop if this work could be performed at the luthier level proficiency. I was charged 180 and assured of their quality of work. 3 weeks or so later I pick up my guitar am am in utter shock. Super glue dripping down the neck, guitar extremely un-intonated, buzzing strings…the list goes on. I’m informed that the new guy, who is apparently a sound guy, decided to take on the job. I left my guitar at the shop. I contacted James directly and he assured he would personally fix any issues on my guitar first thing the following day and be in touch. The next day I went by the shop to grab my guitar and most of the issues created by the “Sound Guy” were fixed, but the guitar still had string buzz and intonation issues. I just took my guitar at that point But asked James, who, no doubt knows his stuff concerning instrument repair, could let a shop sound guy/entry level guitar repair guy work on my instrument. Poor Shop management and poor quality control. Beware guys.
James Hood stole $3600 from the sale he made on my late husband’s consigned guitar. The money was to be used for my daughter’s college tuition. Mr. Hood knew that I was desperate to collect the funds, as financial debt resulting from my husband’s death left our family in dire straits. Six months after the sale was made (which he failed to notify me of) I discovered that his business, Buffalo Guitars, went out of business and he declared bankruptcy. Today, James Hood is in business again, but has made no attempt to pay me the money he made from the sale. I have taken this to small claims court; however, his BK filing prevented any small claims from affecting him. As a result, the next step will be taken to complaint of consumer fraud. This was unethical and criminal. My husband passed from pancreatic cancer, which left four kids and a widow with tremendous debt. It was difficult to part with his treasured guitars, but even worse to be taken advantage of by someone we trusted.
So I have taken at least 3 guitars to JHG repair throughout the years. My first one was an installation of a Seymour Duncan Blackout mod. When I got it back they had reversed the 3 way switch and didn’t bother telling me about it. I figured no big deal. I got used to it. The second time I used JHG, I took a my BC Rich Mockingbird that was having fret issues and got it back with the exact same fret issues. I believe that was $150 and over a week worth of work and in the end the guitar had the same exact dead frets I paid them to fix. That one really bothered me. So I didn’t use JHG for years afterwards. I used guitar center and San Diego Music exchange. Who both did great work with literally no issues. The 3rd and final guitar was a cheap 8 string Harley Benton that I wanted to upgrade. I asked them to install Tosin Abasi Fishman’s. First issue was that it took much longer than they said it would. I kept having to message to get an update. The second issue I got a call from the tech saying it was gonna be more work and they wanted to charge me up to $300 more. I had initially had them diagnose the work and charge me accordingly. So I was pretty upset they now wanted to charge me more and I had already waited longer than they said it would take. At this point I was wanting to be done with them. But the Tech to his credit “took care of me at the time.” They did not charge me extra. However when I got the guitar back the tech explained there was a 60 cycle hum coming from the voice 3 push pull pot on the bridge position. He promised to research the issue with Fishman and get back to me. Unfortunately, that never happened. He had almost made up for the bad experiences I had with JHG. He theorized it was the cheap 3 way switch that caused the issue. Turned out he was mostly wrong. I figured out it was actually the bridge ground wire that was mostly causing the buzz. JHG through their lack of communication and absent customer service inspired me to do something I always wanted to do: learn to do my own repairs and wiring. Since then, I have fixed every issue including the issue with the reversed switch with the blackout mod. I have sense done over 30 installs of pickups and push pull pots. Everything from installing an HS Fishman set with a Modern Fluence Alnico and a single width SSA into a Jackson DKAS Pro with a sustainiac (there is literally no wiring diagram for this kind of install, I had to combine wiring diagrams) to a PMT tech HCP push pull pot mixed with a Seymour Duncan Black out Mod (another impossible mod that has no diagram). Turns out feeling slighted by JHG was a motive that lead to me fixing all my guitars and upgrading them and learning to solder seemingly impossible modifications. I would thank JHG, but it was their lack of follow through and my 3 not so good experiences that gave me that final push to become my own luthier and wiring wiz. I literally write this today as I redo the wiring JHG did on my Harley Benton. Their wiring was good. It just their customer service and follow through that leaves something to be desired. I will likely never need JHG for an install, repair or modification ever again. Because I now know how to do it myself now. If I do come across a situation that requires more expertise than I have, I will use the many other guitar repair shops in the area.
This lady is wonderful she’s my life coach on phone. I still have yet to meet her in person but everytime I call her she like snaps me out of my zone to heal me even if it’s just for like 10 min. I really do owe her. I know I’ll get to the light of the tunnel. She is so accurate. I love her so much Shea like my angel I get to talk to when I really really need her. Thank you so much again you are so darling to use your passion to help me. Love you!
I visited Elivia’s crystal shop recently and was there for an hour looking at the wonderful spread of crystals. She was so helpful and explained the various properties and originations of the crystals I was interested in. I bought some Selenite, Bismuth, Labradorite, Yellow Calcite, Fluorite, Black Kyanite, Ocean Jasper, and Pink Tourmaline! The energy that Elivia has is so powerful and it was a lovely experience to meditate with different stones and realize their healing power for myself. I am definitely going to be coming back to buy more crystals because I use them when I meditate and they aid in the process of healing.
Currently, she is accepting calls to learn more about her shop and where her shop is located. I definitely recommend setting up an appointment to visit her shop and check out the beautiful crystals and jewelry she has. I am going to visit soon and get some Selenite logs to put under my bed and give as gifts for my loved ones. Thank you Elivia for being such a sweet human being.
You call and make an appointment with them as the store is home based. You’ll be glad you did!
The crystal music evolved over time and now includes a huge selection of healing crystals and gemstones in raw specimens, polished specimens and one of a kind gemstone jewelry. If you’re looking for that hard to find crystal, then call them as they specialize in those special high vibrational helpers from the mineral kingdom. I really don’t think that there’s a store in the San Diego area that has a larger selection of gemstones and crystals.
Visit their online store for great prices on singing crystal bowls, where you can work with an expert in sound healing. Elivia is a wealth of information which she freely shares
Aside from this home based store and the online store, you can see them at the local expos and psychic fairs.
She says she’s a medium and all she does is literally read the people in the room. I could look at you and say you’re hard working because most people are and then base some bull around why you are. She didn’t even give messages from loved ones and when asked to give one, she gave inaccurate details and personality of the people passed. She’s a fraud.

I had my violin bow rehaired here and I couldn’t be happier. Their service was fast and extremely good work. Highly highly recommend
Amazing place one of my bass strings broke and they changed all of them for a cheap price they also adjusted some things for free I also bought a Yamaha trbx350 bass at economic price this store is way better than guitar center in my opinion
Very knowledgeable in music
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. A plethora of ukuleles all different styles and colors. Beautiful guitars. Many instruments of all kinds.
Bueno
good place to rent instruments
I have them 2 months with my saxophone and they did not check it out
11. Meadows Deli Market
Address: 27980 Oak Ranch Rd, Escondido, CA 92026 , Hidden Meadows , California , United States
Great little family run restaurant. Pizza and made to order sandwiches are really good. Staffed by family members who are always very friendly. Frequented by Sheriff and CHP personnel for lunches.
Local favorite. Great pizza. Friendly customer service very excited for the beer garden
Great sandwiches and plenty of cold drinks!!
The staff there are very nice
Great deli but closed now
Great people and fantastic pizza and sandwiches , not a bad selection of groceries either.
Bad service not professional especially as a business owner should be ashamed. !
Not great. We waited a very long time for.our food, we had called it in prior and it was an incredibly long wait. It felt like a small 7-11 mart. We had sandwiches and pizza that weren’t good

12. Guitar Center
Address: 712 Center Dr, San Marcos, CA 92069 , Hidden Meadows , California , United States
This is my favorite place to hang out, they have a wide variety of instruments to play and buy. They have everything a musician needs and the staff is very friendly and willing to help.
Great store as always. They even offer military discount. Thanks for the support Guitar Center! Very helpful employees as well.
I enjoy Guitar centers excellent selection of guitars I play, elect.and acoustic the staff is usually friendly and helpful. The accessories and, string section is always well stocked. I’ve been shopping at GC for well over 20 years.
Staff is attententive and knowledgeable. Prices seem to be comparable to other music stores. Delivery time was fast and delivered directly to house. If you are left handed and looking for a guitar you will not find one hanging on the wall. That goes for acoustic or electric.
Nice place to buy or experience what’s inside
On this day customer service was very in un-attentive I stood while staff was doing everything but asking if I needed help.
Not always the case though.
Not the best guitar center. All the guitars are real beat up that are on display. I felt gross just looking at them
They had two left handed guitars. I bought one, the other was decrepit.
Went into the Montrose store to buy a banjo. No customers were in the store but no one came to help me and just ignored me. I will never go there again. I think it was because I’m an older woman. I was ready to buy but they lost a sale and I went somewhere else and bought one the same day.
13. Drum Flip
Address: 1031 S Santa Fe Ave h, Vista, CA 92083 , Hidden Meadows , California , United States
Best drum store in San Diego. Great service and amazing prices! Thank you Ed
Always a great experience!
Amazing, possible the best online drum store in my opinion.. Ed is the man! Bought a beautiful pair of 14” quick beat Zildjian hats. (Old classics, most likely late 80’s given the logo and serial number) Ed was prompt, and kind enough to send me a custom audio/video sample of the cymbals before I decided to purchase. Not only were the cymbals posted at an incredible price, they were exactly as he described. Amazing used product, at an incredible price! To top it off, the hi hats I bought also came with a random vinyl record!! I haven’t listened to it yet unfortunately.. Hands down amazing experience and I will definitely buy again without hesitation! Peace to you Ed and fam!!!
Relatively small shop but great customer service. Very friendly staff and they hold a good amount of events. Great place for beginners and the experienced who like custom created equipment.
Solo me gustó
After seeing many good thing about the shop on social media, I decided to buy from Drum Flip and support small business. However, the good price came at a cost when the drum arrived damaged. Overlooking the request to package well, and deflecting the damage due to lack luster packaging on the shipping, was given 45% of the cost to repair. Not the worst, but can’t recommend.
FULL DISCLOSURE FOLLOW-UP
When I made my first and only purchase, the shop was immediately notified that the snare would incur a long rough journey overseas to Moscow, Russia via Diplomatic USPS, the only shipping service provided for overseas US Diplomats. Upon ordering, I asked for there to be extra secure packaging considering the long trip, and I was reassured it would be packed suitably for the rough journey. When the snare arrived damaged, in 1 layer of small bubble wrap, the shop was immediately notified. After 2 days of no response, on the third day I contacted them again, finally getting a response. The blame for the damage was placed solely on Diplomatic USPS without any justification, and an attempt was even made to blame the poor packaging on Russian customs, claiming it was likely repackaged after an inspection. This was also false as the shipment never goes through Customs as a diplomatic parcel, it arrived exactly the same as it left Drum Flip . I was immediately met with the response from Drum Flip that it wouldn’t be covered by them, and it wasn’t their fault it arrived damaged. The replacement rim was $66.02, and after going back and forth, $30 was refunded to me, but never the offer to send it back for a full refund. At that point, it was better than footing the full bill for the negligent packaging that was again reassured by the shop upon ordering. They told me that most shops wouldn’t offer any refund/return, however, I believe most shops would uphold their guarantee to package securely to avoid such a situation and gain a return customer. I’m genuinely believe the shop’s intention is not to get over on anyone but to provide a good product as their other reviews justify, however, I had a much different first hand experience. Best of luck to the veteran owned small business and their future customers.
My 14 year daughter saved her money and bought a drum set for 660. Used Yamaha and a mix of cymbals.
When we got home she noticed that one of the cymbals had a two inch crack. I called the store and the man in charge wanted to see the sticker on the cymbal that specified that it was cracked. There was no sticker, he flat out denied to replace the cymbal or work out some kind of exchange.
It was realy disappointing for my daughter first drum set.
If you are selling damaged equipment at least let us know.
This store, its owner is not to be trusted. They sold mean an item that did not work when I got home. I offered to drive it back to have them test it. If it did not function at their store I would take a credit and buy another piece of gear – less their 10% restocking policy on returns. The Owner sent me a photo image of a sign saying ” all sales are final”. I would caution you to do any business with them .
14. San Diego Music Studio
Address: 423 S Las Posas Rd, San Marcos, CA 92078 , Hidden Meadows , California , United States
So I’ve been searching for a 1/4 violin for my son and it seems like a lot of music stores just don’t have inventory. And if they had it, it was for rent only. Well, this store does! And its pretty much a one stop shop. I’ve been also looking for a shoulder rest for him and this store had exactly what I was looking for (and tons of them to be exact).
Their rental prices per month were also the cheapest around town. They have a “rent to own” type of thing where if you end up paying the price of the violin, you just get to keep it. Kinda cool. Also, this store pays attention to the small details. So many stores have untuned violins on display. Their violins on display are tuned!!! How refreshing.
Anyways, the store looks small, but is huge inside. We came around school band season and they had tons (and I mean tons) of instruments laying around for kids and their school bands.
Tons of selection for sheet music too. They had a Super mario songs book for piano which my kids gravitated towards. Anything to make them want to learn music. It’ll be my future music purchase once they can read notes.
They also offer lessons inside the store which is nice. We live a little too far for lessons, but if we lived closer, I would definitely be coming here for lessons.
Clean store, and super friendly staff who know their music and you can ask them questions about any instruments. David was super friendly and helpful!
Very good customer service, friendly employees, overall a really great experience!
Update 9/28 – Ryan called to apologize and made things right. In light of that I have upgraded the rating to 4 stars. Often times it’s not the mistake, but the reaction and I think Ryan did a good job resolving the issue.
The customer service for the rental is horrible. Bliss was terribly rude. I had an auto debit for a rental and I had that for a couple of years. The bank issued me a new card and it had lapsed. That happened in the past and they would call. This last time I got a new call saying it was two months past, but I never got a call for the first month, or an email, and she couldn’t do anything to waive the late fees, which were $15 for a $19 a month rental (79% of the rental cost). All because they couldn’t call or send and email. Sounds like their business model is to just make their money on the late fees rather than be reasonable.
We were looking to get a flute repaired and visited this location, having heard good experiences from others and being quoted a quick turnaround for the repair over the phone. Unfortunately, our service experience was rather disappointing. The staff present seemed inexperienced in working with customers. We were told they required a $20 for a same-day evaluation of the instrument, which we agreed to as the repair was urgent. However, the staff came back afterwards saying the instrument required “General Adjustments” (for which we were quoted a charge of $95), without explaining what was wrong with the instrument. The staff didn’t make much of an attempt to understand what was wrong with the instrument or provide clarification when we asked what exactly what was going to be fixed.
We came back a few days later when the instrument was ready for pick up, and the issue we were facing was not fixed! After this, we talked with one of the mechanics there and explained the issue, and they were able to identify the issue and repair the instrument, rather quickly in fact! Had we been able to do this from the beginning, we could have saved a lot of time and headache.
We will not be returning to this location for future repairs.

My kids and I have been attending Mini Musicians classes for the last 10 years and we keep signing up because they are the absolute best! Ms Allison is a wonderful teacher who makes the classes super fun and engaging all while teaching the kids music theory and a love for music and play. I took piano lessons for over 10 years when I was a child and I have learned more music theory in Ms Allison’s classes than I ever did with regular piano lessons.
We have loved our music classes at Mini Musicians. Ms. Allison is magic with children! My daughter looks forward to music class every week.
We love Ms. Allison at Mini Musicians! She is so organized, professional, and best of all- FUN! Her toddler Sound Beginnings classes are so fun and engaging! We can’t wait to sign up for the next semester!

Vintage Strings was hired to perform at an outdoor (backyard) memorial/celebration of life service in Del Mar with approximately 100 in attendance. They were on time, professional, friendly, talented, and most of all an OUTSTANDING addition to the celebration. They provided background music throughout the afternoon as well as “requested” songs during the actual service. I would hire them again without hesitation and recommend them to others. They add a wonderful element to any occasion and are very reasonably priced. THANK YOU, Vintage Strings!
We had Vintage Strings play for our wedding ceremony. They did an amazing job and added such a great ambiance to the entire day! Looking back, I cannot imagine it without them. 5 stars for sure.
Priscilla and her team are magnificent!!! I hired them for our full catholic mass and we got a billion compliments. They’re also the best deal in southern CA price wise!

Delene and Barry did an outstanding job at our wedding on 10/19/19! We were absolutely thrilled and they exceeded our expectations. Our guests were saying they were the best DJs they’ve ever heard. And the music never stopped for the 5 hours…thank you for adding to make our wedding reception so exceptional…and performing more songs than I even expected…
And what an incredibly beautiful couple they are!!
Delene and Barry are absolutely the best!! We hired them for my 64th birthday party and everyone, from age three to 70 loved the choice of music. Both are extremely talented and play an unbelievable array of instruments and styles of music. Hire them…and have a great time. We did!!
We surly made the right choice hiring Hot Pursuit for our 50th Wedding Anniversary party. Delene and Barry are very professional, accommodating and easy to work with. Our genre of music was the 50’s, 60’s and classic rock with some country. Delene mixed in our playlist of favorite songs which was very special to us. The highlight was when Delene sang a special request and Barry played his Saxophone, what a musician! Our guests loved the entertainment and Delene kept the guests informed with announcements and got them up to dance.
In our opinion they were certainly the best of those we interviewed and you won’t be disappointed if you chose them.
