At the start, they teach you basic songs and don’t really get into notes. Eventully, they do but thats why i can perform songs for my family. Its also makes the process a lot better and faster. They teach you how to not get into bad habits and the whole time, have fun. if someone does not want to go, they should at least try it because there is no way on earth you can’t like this place. I’m younger than 10 and know this is the place for someone edging in to learning an instrument. The staff are always kind, and let you pick the one thats right for you. ANY ONE OUT THERE<<<<<
It’s a great group of people with high energy and the desire to deliver a great experience. I’ve never played with a group or band and this has given me the opportunity to do it in a casual environment with structure and experienced direction. It’s also given me confidence and stripped away any fear of playing in public. Tim Vlcek
I can’t explain how incredibly grateful I am to be a part of the School of Rock community. I found School of Rock when I was stuck, struggling to be a better musician. I hit a roadblock so to speak. I had my first few lessons and my first rehearsal in Performance Group and felt alive again. I was learning, like truly learning, from peers who are more talented and experienced than I am, from instructors who are extremely educated in music, and from people who just genuinely care. I have come so far from having shaky vocals and playing only open chords on a guitar, to having a powerhouse voice and playing lead licks in my performance group as well as making it into House Band, in just over 6 months. Thanks for everything School of Rock!

Their customer service is very helpful and respectful
The Hinsdale location has very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. We’ve purchased many Tiffany pieces and watches from them. It’s always a pleasure to do business with them.

We have been so incredibly happy with the amount of individualized attention and care that has been given our daughter as she begins her journey in learning guitar. Jake is so patient and knowledgeable and Mat has been incredibly flexible with our busy schedules! We could g be happier!
I’ve been playing drums for a long time, and taking lessons from Mat for a few months. Mat always finds ways to throw really simple things at me that break my brain in good and fun ways. He is amazingly positive, constructive, and genuine, and never shames me for not practicing enough. Great drum teacher and person.
Jake is not only an excellent musician, but also is a patient and creative guitar teacher. He passes on a passionate love of music and has a unique way of exploring a variety of musical styles. We feel lucky to have found Hinsdale Music Studio.
The best craftsmanship, quality, service and knowledge hands down! Karl is wonderful!
I’ve been playing on Karl’s mouthpieces since I was in grad school at IU Jacobs School of Music around 2008. I still love his pieces and work and keep extras in my teaching studio for students to try and compare to other brands. Great attention to detail, excellent to work with, and make me sound better than I should! The few times I’ve wandered away to try something new I’ve come back pretty quickly. Every recording I have of myself that I still want to listen to was recorded on a Hammond. Give them a try and see for yourself!
Karl makes mouthpieces of top quality. He also will sit with you to make sure that the fit is right for you. There isn’t any reason you’ll need to spend close to $300 on the other brands because Hammond Design is just as good and cost less than half as much!

Excellent instrument store. Very nice and helpful service team =)!
I can not rave enough on what a pleasure it was to go there for the first time and receive such outstanding customer service. The young man Patrick who assisted me was friendly pleasure to work with, he even suffered through my anecdotes about my mom forcing me to play violin. I am from a small town and our music store was very hands on and was leery of a large store. Patrick took the time answer my questions and once again great service I would recommend this store to anyone looking for an instrument. He is rather tall so make him stay sitting down or neck pain
Great customer service. The repair department is quick and reasonably priced.
Staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, the place is clean.
They have everything the kids need for band.
Great servicr and friendly people.
This company is the biggest rip-off. The way it’s set up you pay more just to start to rent an instrument than you would pay buying the same exact thing to own off of Amazon. I’ll never do business here again as long as I live and I would advise everyone else to stay far, far away from these snakes.
Stopped in to have my sons saxophone repaired. The guy in the store made multiple rude comments/jokes about the saxophone being a cheap brand and not sturdy. Totally rude and unnecessary to say all of that in front of my 11 year old son. The saxophone was a birthday present. He could have just said “we don’t service this brand” and left it at that, he did not have to make multiple further comments.
