Experienced guys here. Really well stocked with nice used instruments and new accessorys. They also have a recording studio and lessons on guitar and drums. Best music instruments store in town.
Never been here but I’m gonna rate it 5 stars because I’m nice 🙂 lol
Also, do you guys take barely used instruments?
I have a snare drum I’ve had for two years and I don’t use it and so I’m looking for a place to sell it to.
Does big event music offer guitar lessons for beginners?
Great people, over priced used stuff. Knowledge staff with understanding across most instruments. Some nice and not so nice used guitars in stock. BEM is part of the problem in this online society, people will come here to see things in person, then go to Musicians Friend to buy. Give it a try, but you will probably end up buying somewhere else. Jeff
Very Helpful! Thank you for your service to our community.
Nice music shop.
I bought a lot of things from Brent when the store sold instruments and amps and was always happy with them. Unfortunately, things have changed. I brought a guitar in that needed a rewire job. I was aware they were busy with festivals but they kept my guitar for 2 months and finally called and told me they didn’t have time to fix it. Needless to say, I wont be back.
Not enough inventory
I bought everything from guitar cases to a JBL top of line PA from them before I found out they are totally BOGUS! Sold me used merchandise as new, then got an attitude when I called them on it! Cuss me out when you’re a thiefing liar? I don’t think so! I wouldn’t buy a guitar pick from these people!!!
2. Guido’s Hot Springs Music
Address: National Park, 812 Higdon Ferry Rd, Hot Springs, AR 71913 , Hot Springs , Arkansas , United States
One of the last guitar shops that buys, sells, and trades guitars. They carry a lot of parts, and have repair too. Lessons and a wide variety of guitars from all vintages and price ranges including student models. They give you more for used instruments, that pawn shops will. Easy access off Higdon Ferry Rd, headed toward Oaklawn Race Track.
Best music shop in Hot Springs, helpful incite and equipment for all your instrument needs.
If you are from Hot Springs you already know. If you’re from out of town you need to stop by and check this place out.
Great service and reasonable prices.
I drove from Benton to look at a guitar I called about for my son. This has been several months ago but it left such a bad taste in my mouth I found myself thinking about how bad it was and decided I should warn others so they won’t be disappointed by a similar experience.
The guitar was beat up pretty bad but straight otherwise. The owner (the tall heavy set gentlemanwith longish gray hair) was asking $125 for the guitar and was the only person working. The guitar is $145 new (Ibanez Mikro) and was on sale new for $125 @ guitar center. I offered him $100 (way more than I should have). He didn’t bother to look up and said no. I asked would he budge. Again he answered no while hardly acknowledging me. I showed him that it was in sale for the same price new. He told me I should by the new one because he wasn’t budging on his price. I took his advice and that’s what I did. It seemed as if he didn’t care if he sold anything or not. I’ll never shop there again. I previously bought a MIM strat and nice amp from one of the other sales men. I mentioned to him that I was a repeat customer, he just didn’t care. Very disappointed. I wish I were writing g a glowing review about the great deal and excellent service I received. Unfortunately it was a bad experience from the time I stepped in and hardly acknowledged to the time I left. I notice that someone has an excuse for every negative review. I’m anxious to see what the excuse is for my experience considering I was hardly spoken to. I think you have to be friends with the owner for him to care you are even there.
– The person who replied to this made my pint for me. If the guitar came with a case why wasn’t that mentioned to my wife and I. We questioned why a guitar with dings and scratches was priced the same as new one. Wouldn’t that have been a great time to explain that it came with a $75 hard case. It should be no mystery why you can’t make a deal with everyone with these sales tactics. Take some responsibility for you actions and stop blaming your customers. You have accused them of stealing, damaging your equipment confusing you with a pawn shop. Lol!! I would bet every excuse you’ve replied with is a lie to excuse your actions and blame your customer. There are tons of guitars for sale on craigslist, in pawnshops, online I suggest anyone thinking of shopping with you use one of these other options. Have a nice day.
I bought a 1949 Gibson LG3 from Guido at the Arlington Guitar Show this past weekend that he stated to be all original. Within 24 hours I discovered the bridge had been replaced which effects its value greatly. I asked for some compensation for this change & Guido refused to give me a break on price & refused to take it back. He stated “I should give him back money from our last transaction or he would do nothing for me”. Is this how you want to be treated by a so called expert ? There was no offer ever made to buy back both guitars back from me at all. Never again will I be burned by Guido !
This is easily the worst guitar shop I have ever been in. His prices are outrageous for the cheap faulty equipment he sells. The 15$ guitar amp cord I bought from him recently broke within a week. WITHIN A WEEK , for 15$ I could have gotten quality cord. He treats customers as poorly as he let’s his shop look. If you want to buy shoddy guitars , faulty equipment, and be treated like garbage that has sat on the curb for a month then go ahead and buy from this crook. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING HERE , if you need a guitar for someone who’s never played and you don’t what you need look elsewhere . Buyer be warned.
Ms. Martin is an excellent teacher. My daughter was a clarinet student of hers for years. My daughter was selected for All-Region band for 4 years and All-State for 2 years. My daughter’s success is due at least partially to the hard work, tutelage, cheers, and support from Ms. Martin. I recommend Ms. Martin whole heartedly.
My daughter was recently selected to join the UVA marching band!! Go Hoos Go!
Shelley Martin is simply the best flute teacher I ever had.. She was my flute teacher from 1996-2001 at Henderson State University while I studied for my BA in Music and she never gave up on someone who was so far behind everyone else in her studio. She just pushed me to become a better musician little by little over the years through her teaching and by being an example herself of what to aspire to.
Shelley is really good with my 9 year old as a new student. She makes it fun and interesting for him. She’s very experienced in teaching music lessons to all ages.
very nice selection of records available!!! owner was very sweet and willing to compromise on prices. 10/10 experience!!!
Friendly and helpful owner! Lots of records, lots of options. Sorted and organized which helps a lot if you are hunting for something specific. A must visit.
Lots of records to choose from! The owner was super helpful and very friendly! My husband and I enjoyed our time there!
This store has made significant improvements! A good rotation of new stock hand picked by the owner and cautiously graded make this a store to visit often…
Was not even there
10. FYE
Address: 4501 Central Ave #142, Hot Springs, AR 71913 , Hot Springs , Arkansas , United States
Excellent selection of everything from DVD to classic LP record albums.
Clean and really nicely setup. If you like nerd kind of things this is the place for you!
A lot of great pop culture merchandise!
Great spot and a great anime spot for the anime crowd
Not a big selection.
NO fudge
Cool store like Hastings but terrible customer service!! They push you into signing up for their membership and will not cancel it unless you get rude with them. Had this experience with two different representatives. They would not cancel and kept interrupting me telling me to keep my membership. My card kept getting charged and they refused to give a refund. Won’t be back.
No where as good as it used to be. Large store but everything is ridiculously overpriced.
11. Pat’s Vinyl Records
Address: 3970 Park Ave G, Hot Springs, AR 71901 , Hot Springs , Arkansas , United States
Amazing place, great variety. Found a Prince 1989 Batman album, wish I had the money to buy it. Pat is super fun to talk to, knows a lot about music. Super kind, and if I lived in the area, I would come back often.
The best place in Hot Springs to find good quality records at decent prices. The variety there is incredible as well. Pat is knowledgeable with music, so he is able to help you out in any way. Highly recommend going.
Great store for great music! All the vinyl records are in terrific condition, really well organized and in huge variety/selection. Thousands of records plus CDs, and friendly people too…. I could have spent hours there.
Needs to update store hours. Drove 20 minutes to see that they were closed.
