Excellent music store, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Just purchased a new Yamaha,THR 10X amp, and could not be happier with the amazing sound quality from an amp this size.
Thanks, Joel
Awesome people very pleased with friendliness and helpful staff here’s to a long lasting relationship thank you
Cool staff. Nice selection of used gear.
Friendly and helpful staff
Quiero un pad electrónico de percusión y un subwoofer
Great service and great people. Highly recommend.
We called before making the 45 minute trip to purchase a guitar, strings and a case, only to be turned away because I brought my little service dog. It was 88 degrees so she did not have her Service Dog Vest on. I offered to go back to the car to put it in her. That wasn’t good enough. We were there less than 2 minutes. I had brought my 16 year old foreign exchange student there and he sure got a whiff of good old American culture today.
So embarrassing. Shame on them on all accounts.
Rude staff who didn’t seem to be interested in my business. I won’t be back.
Lack communication skills and people skills
5. Howey Market
Address: 101 S Palm Ave, Howey-In-The-Hills, FL 34737 , Howey-in-the-Hills , Florida , United States
A favorite stop for Toque de Classé when in the Howey area, across from the library, and just a block from Lake Harris & the Howey Water front Park !
Fabulous home town grocery store. Always has what I need. Wonderful wine and extensive beer selection. A must to visit!
My favorite store in Howey!
As said before, a great place to grab some eggs, but also good for specialty items. Want some bee pollen? Got it. Want some avocado oil? Got it. Want some specialty soda or a weird little Christmas ornament or a fidget spinner for some reason? Also got that. A great mix of mundane and strange. Not to mention you can grab some sandwiches and ice cream. Stop by if you can. You have to be pretty boring not to be amused at the very least.
Didn’t have very much of my fave popcorn. Hope they continue offering it.
Cute, well located market & lunch stop. A little bit of something for everyone.
This used to be the greatest sub shop in the world, new owners took over and now there are kids making sandwiches that have no idea what they are doing, almost no meat on the sandwich, absolute joke. Please for the love of God go back to the way it was, those Hispanic girls knew how to run that kitchen, those kids have no idea what they are doing. The coffee used to be in back and there was milk to put in it, now it’s up front and no milk. Deli/kitchen needs to be open so working people can have a sandwich made in the morning. Almost no veggies on the shelf. Get it together, this place will be belly up in 6 months as is…
Love this store, just wish it was back to the way that worked, hope the best for the store and new owners, everyone I work with says the same thing, not just one upset person here…
You lost my business. Talk about inconsistent.
My husband and I had just finished a 2 mile walk from our home and decided to stop at the market and buy a couple of bottled waters. Our next door neighbor had told us how nice the store had turned out so we decided to stop in. We walked in, and recognized one of our neighbor’s and said hello. My husband and I were the only 2 people in the store at the time and the clerk, Sandy (the snob) did not welcome us to the new store or even say, hello! She just watched us! I would have thought since the store had just opened, the clerk would have welcomed everyone that came into the store. One thing I know for sure is that word of mouth can go along way!
6. Dan’s Music Studio
Address: 25201 US Hwy 27, Leesburg, FL 34748 , Howey-in-the-Hills , Florida , United States
Dan Arnold is knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging during lessons. He is willing and able to explain details until the subject is clear.
I have been taking drum lessons for nearly a year and am thrilled with the progress made. My success is due to hard work and the dedication of my instructor, Dan Arnold.
I am a former student of Dan’s from many years ago, and can’t say enough good things. He has a very patient teaching style and great way of breaking things down into to simple, easy to understand concepts. He was highly influential in my life when I was a beginning musician. Because of his knowledge and influence, I am still highly active with music/drums today and even had a 25 yr career in the music industry. Dan is an amazing teacher, and an even better person. Thank you for everything!
Great instructor! My 14 yr old daughter takes drum lessons & loves it.
7. CornerStone Music, LLC
Address: 798 W Montrose St, Clermont, FL 34711 , Howey-in-the-Hills , Florida , United States
Great store, great people! Thank goodness I found them! I usually see Chris, whom is really knowledgeable, informative, friendly, and quite capable of making my guitars better, which he has done every time! I brought a custom guitar I recently bought that needed something I was not able to figure out, and Chris could tell right away the issues and understood how I wanted it to play. A few days later my guitar plays like the dream of shed machine I wanted it to be! They treat you like family there, highly recommended if you want top quality without a high price tag, I really can’t say enough good about them!
been taking lessons from peat for almost 3 years and it has been amazing he knows so much Kris is also EXTREAMLY knowledgeable great guys cornerstone is like my second home I recommend it to everyone I know that plays guitar or any other instruments and there word is their word if they say they are going to do it its gonna get done.
Cool little neighborhood shop! Pete and Kris are really nice guys, very knowledgeable. They stock a nice collection of guitars, competitively priced.
Excellent service as usual
Despite the trumpet not working out for my son… the staff was helpful, understanding, and ever so friendly! I highly recommend getting your school band rentals here!
Great local shop, sharp staff reasonable prices
For the several thousands of dollars my family has spent at this business, I expect Pete to be friendly/pleasant towards us(at the very least), for life, but he clearly can’t maintain that. He started acting rude towards my mom some years back, and now me. For no apparent reason. I hope that keeping that sour attitude of yours is worth losing 20+ year customers who often went out of their way to spend money at your establishment and stay local. Weird way to treat people who earned you money. Avoid. He’s one of those guys who thinks everyone is a “democrat”. Super solid reason to push customers away.
8. Heavenly Hair Studio 17
Address: 133 E Central Ave, Howey-In-The-Hills, FL 34737 , Howey-in-the-Hills , Florida , United States
I came in to her studio and my hair was a mess. I normally visit every 6 weeks but I hadn’t gotten my hair done since December 2022 due to my old stylist leaving and my life being turned upside down. She did an amazing job, put in a conditioner as well and was GREAT with my service. I booked my next appointment 6 weeks out.
I am so glad my old stylist left town otherwise I wouldn’t have found Heavenly Hair. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I like her so much I made an appointment for my daughter. Conveniently located 3 mins from my home couldn’t ask for any better. Thank you for an amazing cut!
Absolute pure talent! I had been box coloring and had very long dark roots. Showed Ivy (the owner) a pic of what I wanted and she went to work! Highlights are a perfect, silky summer blonde. Ivy herself is very friendly and listens to her clients. In just one appointment she knew exactly what I wanted and styled my blow out perfectly. Her pricing is straight forward and very affordable. The salon is very peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend this salon
9. Yalaha Bakery
Address: 8210 FL-48, Yalaha, FL 34797 , Howey-in-the-Hills , Florida , United States
Great german breads, deserts, cakes, and the Deli is always popular because the food is great.
This is my favorite bakery. It is a hidden gem near the Mission Inn in the tiny town of Yalaha. It is a German style bakery with a bit of a boulangerie because their croissants are fantastic. I love the Almond croissants. They have a wonderful variety and sweet employees.
There is a garden patio where you can enjoy your sweets! Oh they do have breakfast sandwiches…on a croissant! Of course!
Adorable place with fantastic food and lovely outdoor space. Looking forward to live music coming back to this venue when it’s safe.
Food was good service was a little slow tour bus company brought a whole load of passengers
Curry bratwurst was good, but the curry was bland. Seating area was messy, covid protocols are being followed, the coffee drop cookies are very tasty, friendly staff
Delicious pastries but towards the end of the day customer service can fizzle out.
AVOID!!! From customer service and food availability to the quality of their deli goods, just an absolute NOPE and a huge NO!! If you do end up going here, expect bad attitudes, terrible service and meager meat from their deli. There are at least two people behind the counter that doesn’t care about any customers.
We came upon this place while in Clermont. We stopped by the Yalaha Bootlegging Company prior to going here and found Yalaha Bakery. We were SO excited to visit this place. Well, our visit was absolutely tasteless due to the attitudes and treatment of the staff! We wanted to have a late lunch so when we tried to order, the lady who I assume is the manager (because other employees were asking her to take a break) wasn’t too happy with the “time” we arrived because it was 1 hour to their deli closing time. She told us that nothing is available because we came too late. We tried to order something else but was told, again, no, because they’re out due to us visiting too late in the day. Well, my husband ordered their Reuben which was, thankfully, available. HOWEVER – there was just ONE piece of meat in his sandwich. ONE – at a German deli!!
The last straw was when we ordered water. They were too bothered to help us so they told us that we’d have to wait a while. We waited for 10 minutes before someone slid tap water to us at the counter.
JUST AVOID.
Absolutely wonderful products. Nice family
feel to the business.
Very poor service, very rude OWNER. Do not recommend. Avoid if you care about your rights as an American citizen.
10. Tavares Family Jewelry & Pawn
Address: 4129 County Rd 561, Tavares, FL 32778 , Howey-in-the-Hills , Florida , United States
Check out these great folks! Amazing, friendly and great to work with!
Employees are very nice and place is very neat and clean
I love family jewelry and pawn
Nice experience…very helpful people…appreciated the courtesy.
Great customer service, prices are very reasonable and willing to accept any returns that is faulty .
I called Family Jewelry & Pawn and told them about an item I had. A Yamaha PSR 19 electric keyboard, excellent condition with padded leather carrying case original manual and stand. They told me they’d give me 30 dollars. I drove all the way out there and showed them the keyboard. Plugged it in and demonstrated it worked perfectly. No scratches, mars or defects what-so-ever. They changed there price to 15. Yes I was told 15, made the drive out there and they decided to only give me 15 dollars instead. WHY? THEY ARE DISHONEST. This place gives pawn shops a bad name. I wish I could load a copy of the receipt to prove it. The Yamaha Keyboard PSR 19 is worth a lot more than 15 bucks. What a SLAP IN THE FACE
If I could give this place a negative star I would. By the far the most offended I’ve ever felt doing business with a pawn shop. Take your business else where to avoid being taken advantage of.
Horrific customer service- I wouldn’t go there if someone paid me.
Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend. My wife and I stayed at the Gardeners cottage. There was plenty of room for 2 people. Lots of antique pieces to enjoy, and the main house offers tours. I’m Amateur historian so this place has lots to offer. Definitely worth checking out.
The Howey Mansion is indeed an amazing place to host weddings and special events. Built in 1925 in the Mediterranean Revival style, the mansion boasts grand architectural features such as marble floors, ornate moldings, and towering ceilings that create a sophisticated and luxurious atmosphere. The mansion’s lush gardens and courtyards also provide stunning backdrops for outdoor ceremonies and receptions. With its elegant and timeless charm, the Howey Mansion is a sought-after venue for couples and event planners looking for a unique and unforgettable setting for their special day. From intimate ceremonies to grand celebrations, the Howey Mansion offers a range of options to suit any event size and style.
I stayed there several times with a work weekend. Amazing staff. Beautiful home.
This is a magical place, you can tell that there is a lot of history to be discovered, kind of sad that the city doesn’t want to buy and restore the mansion
Went to a wedding here. Gorgeous!!!! Amazing place!!! My only disappointment is that there was just a single bathroom for everyone. Not sure that a wheelchair bound person could fit in.
Attended a wedding, beautiful venue, need more restrooms.
Just attended a wedding and the AC was never working. The rude lady that works there said it was because the doors were open and if the doors were open she had to shut off the AC. This is a complete lie since the doors were closed in the beginning of the wedding and it was super hot. If you want a wedding venue where you have to sweat like no tomorrow this is your place. Instead of apologizing and accepting the feedback that was her response. Beautiful place but the lady that is running it is definitely not receptive to feedback.
Feedback before shows the same as me. I guess only certain people are accepted at this place.
The entire bridal party and family of the newly weds were very uncomfortable as the head staff of the venue was not professional at all. They were belittling to under staff as well as the people who were anticipating the best day of their lives. Wedding days already come along with high levels of stress and anxiety with out having unnecessary issues created to deal with from people that they have paid thousands of dollars to. Not the experience that we expected.
Venue was beautiful the staff was very pleasant and attentive but Fran is a nightmare! If you’re looking for an event space or a wedding venue, look elsewhere!
It’s no surprise almost every vendor says that Fran is terrible to work with…ask around, don’t take my word for it!
In the middle of my wedding night Fran pulled me in her office and scolded me about the volume of the music. I was then approached by multiple employees of Fran saying that Fran had sent them to advise me that she was calling the police. Shortly after the a/c in the venue was turned off and it became so hot that our guests where drenched in sweat and extremely uncomfortable!
At the end of the night I go upstairs to the the grooms room to find my shoes and wallet in the trash.
I won’t be surprised if she’s making fake Google accounts to post good reviews about herself, as every other review speaks of how “Fran is very nice” when this is not the case at all.
Food was great the staff was awesome but Fran is trash.
Goodluck, if you cross paths with Fran.
13. Music-N-Stuff
Address: 15041 Old US Hwy 441, Tavares, FL 32778 , Howey-in-the-Hills , Florida , United States
Back in business and under new ownership: Music n Stuff is NOT out of business: it is now called The Music Lounge.
The new owner remodeled the inside, and it looks way better. Their Appeal gets a low rating only because it doesn’t look like much from the street. The inside has many new guitars and looks much cleaner than before. They also have a decent studio setup with good rates there now as well. Check it out if you haven’t been there in awhile.
14. IREKA MARSHALL RECORDS
