They were Awesome! Everyone enjoy their musical selections!! So many people dancing in a restaurant! It was simply amazing and heartwarming to see!
We worked with Jimmy and Rhonda on our wedding day. They were absolutely amazing. We received so many compliments from our guests. They are so professional and so positive. All of our guests had a great time. Thank you both SO MUCH for making our day even more special!!

Really cool place. great selection. friendly people.
Check other places and compare before going with them.
Nice friendly cool record store.
The date was get the same
Management was rude and caused a scene at the store.
Asked about a particular CD on Record Sale Day to add to my collection because it was rare and I’ve been eyeing it for about a month, and the male worker at the store starts suggesting in a loud and sarcastic voice, audible to everyone in the store, that I might just be trying to sell them on eBay for profit. I wanted it *because* it was rare. A rare piece for my own collection. What a petty way to make negative assumptions about your customers.
Even after I tried disengaging from the conversation and walking away, he continued talking at me, telling me how stores could get in trouble for people buying multiples and trying to sell them on eBay or whatever. Pretty annoyed at the confidence he had, all because I asked a simple question.
Petty and unprofessional. Was honestly surprised, reviews on this place are great. I imagine management was stressed, but still no way to treat a customer.
Tom is a great instructor and very patient. He is an extreme talent and you basically get twice the education in a single lesson. There is no substitute!
I have truly enjoyed the experience of learning to play the bass guitar as an adult with Tom Maslowski. He is knowledgeable , patient and a great teacher that I highly recommend . He also can teach the drums, ukulele and lead guitar . Keith Wilson
Tom is the kind of thoughtful teacher who builds lessons from the ground up for his students, knowing well in advance where a student might struggle. His musicality and professionalism permeate his work, and his humor keeps things fun even when learning difficult subject matter.
When it comes to guitar music, he’s smart for me to trust.
5. Guitar Center
Address: 2785 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435 , Ingalls Park , Illinois , United States
Always a great experience when I visit, staff are always very polite and helpful.
Good selection
We looked at the stereo
Knowledgable and helpful employees
The staff were really nice & helpful, especially Jack who was also extremely patient. The store was busy so time waiting was a little long. We’re they short-staffed or just customer service oriented so others had to wait for help? Unsure but not complaining.
Not enough guitars to choose from.
Told me I had to wear a mask. Lost a sale.
Manager running the drumming area asking a family playing a digital kit to pass along drum sticks to another family right in the middle a test run is messed up. Kids asked “why did she ask to pass to the nice family behind us, are we not nice?”
Sorry you were on the phone. We were having fun but have some professionalism and tact. Family’s can wait their turns like we would.
I’ll return just not for the drums. Love your guitars.
I’d give .5 if possible…and that’s merely for existing. My son wanted an acoustic guitar for Christmas. Since I know nothing about guitars, we went to Joliet guitar center. We spent 30 minutes in the acoustic room while 3 employees did nothing. No one greeted us, no one checked on us to see if we had questions, and no one said goodbye to us. Never again.
6. J&B Music
Address: 3512 Caton Farm Rd, Joliet, IL 60431 , Ingalls Park , Illinois , United States
Great people, knowledgeable & willing to help! (Great selection of vinyl records is an additional plus!!!)
Used to take lessons here, excellent teachers. Now I come here for all my vinyl needs. Great selection and pretty fair pricing.
My son started taking guitar lessons in January and he has learned so much in such a short time. My son looks forward to lessons and is motivated to practice at hom. His teacher Brian is a great teacher! He gives my son music that he likes and he was flexible with moving lessons around while my son played baseball. Teachers like Brian encourage and inspire young musicians!
Stopped at the store while in the area. The young man behind the counter was very nice and helpful. The selection was diverse and I found a few things to take home.
Good store! I go for the vinyl which is mostly used with a small selection of new releases. I can usually find good deals on good condition, bit off of the radar titles. Good staff and new discount program
7. Third City Sound
Address: 75 N Chicago St FL 3, Joliet, IL 60432 , Ingalls Park , Illinois , United States
The What’s Goin’ Down In Downtown J-Town podcast is largely recorded at Third City Sound along with albums from the vast majority of the bands played on The Local Music Bonanza. You’ll also find Bill and Dave doing sound for area shows and festivals when they aren’t playing music in their own bands. They done a lot of great things for our music community.
Such a great place. The people that run it are salt of the earth folks. It’s a casual, low pressure atmosphere that inspired my muse. Great laid back engineer too.
Our jazz group, The Swing Set Supper Club, had a great experience recording at Third City. We were able to do many of these in a single take, thanks in large part to Bill and his friendly command of the whole thing! Comfortable space, great sound, great hospitality, lots of know-how – I’m sure we’ll be back!
Great small venue! Everyone there is super nice and nothing short of hospitable to anyone that comes there. It’s in a great spot to have food and drink downstairs, or byob to the shows up top.
Poor Service, Lack Of Experience

This store is amazing! not only did they everything I needed for my new drum set but they let bang away on their showroom drum set for hours like Lars Ulrich from Metallica. Im new to drumming so I’m sure it sounded like I was beating a baby with a cat. but after countless hours and many annoyed customers later I was surprised that Bobby and his team hadn’t kicked me out. Thanks again Bobby and the team I’ll definitely be back!
This place does not do instrument repair, and has not every time I call for the past 6 months. I finally took my Electric Guitar to West Side Music Center. I haven’t actually been able to go inside for some time because they leave their neon “OPEN” sign on even if they are closed.
I didn’t wanna have to ask to play the guitars, but other than that, it was perfect
They gave me a quote on fixing my guitar that was out of this world. They said it would cost more to fix it than the guitar was actually worth. Whoever I talked to said they would have to send it out to a different tech. Long story short I got a second opinion and it only cost me $15 to get it fixed…… Good place to take lessons but don’t take your instruments here to get fixed.
Very pricey and will give you outrageous quotes for repairs when you can get the work done much cheaper elsewhere
10. Kula’s Jewelry & Loan
Address: 174 N Chicago St, Joliet, IL 60432 , Ingalls Park , Illinois , United States
Great company to do business with! Quality jewelry as well as other products. Fantastic customer service. Highly recommend them!
I would highly recommend checking this place out if you’re looking to buy or sell jewelry. I shopped around looking to sell a few gold rings and the price I was quoted here was twice as much as I was offered at the pawn shop around the corner. Their establishment is looks beautiful on the interior and the gentleman who helped me out was very friendly. I will be a returning customer!
What a great experience. I had a Gibson guitar that I wanted to sell. I took it to various music stores that advertise that they buy used gear only to be disappointed in the offers I was getting;and they all wanted to write me a check. On the recommendation of a friend I took it into Kula’s. Not only was their offer the higher they also paid me in cash! Pleasure to do business with.
Purchased a diamond ring from them some years back for $800, a ring which they made. Went to sell it back to them recently and they only offered $150 for the ring, which seemed low so I went to a local jewelry store instead for a second opinion and was offered $200… $50 more then they offered for a ring they made… I sold a few other jewelry pieces to them that day and now I feel I was ripped off.
They turned me away. The man sitting at the front told me he couldn’t take my game because I’m black…..
Spent $7000.00 there over the years. Get in a spot, go there for a loan & get turned away. You lost a customer. I’d rather pay retail then step foot back in your place. Shame on you.
11. Sterling & Knight Jewelry & Pawn

My name is Kevin if u need a few bucks Donnie will take care of you very nice guy love this place been dealing with them for years always good service
Yesnenia very helpful and fast
Janine was very helpful.
Great experience with Robbie very friendly and had a welcoming store!! Very good layout to see items for sale great place to buy firearms at great prices
Carl Marshmallow is awesome
Fair prices on merchandise and fair prices to sell and loan at a low intrest
Went to sell my engagement ring, got quoted $800 by Marcelo. Came back a couple weeks later and now they want $400 for it. They told me, “I should have took the first offer”. He told me he didn’t remember who I was and clearly was lying. Don’t sell your jewelry here.
Well I read the online reviews tried to listen to people to go here and It was a total waste of time. As I brought in a milwaukee tool that Crest hill pawn and jewelry offered me 40 for. I go into this place sterling and knight in joliet and they offer me an insulting 20 dollar offer. Without even seeing if the tool evem worked. I told them that it is worth way more than this. These people are not out to help you they are out to screw you over. Do not go here take your business elsewhere. And I am not one to complain but when I feel that insulted about something I will voice it. They were not willing to talk about it or do anything besides say 20 bucks.
Scammers
12. Midlothian Music
Address: 15645 S 94th Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462 , Ingalls Park , Illinois , United States
I’ve been very happy with the service. The owner knows instruments and apparently has many years of experience. It’s refreshing to be able to ask questions about your instrument and get intelligent answers.
Most music stores make you feel like you’re bothering them, but the guys at Midlothian Music treat you very well.
Been a pleasure stopping in once In a while.. looking to take lessons soon.
I love all the products but at times the service was bad, other visits there were good service. Thanks!
I would give no stars. I bought a clarinet for my grandson, and a banjo another time for my husband. The son of the owner took care of my husband and me. I went in at Christmas time to buy reeds and the store did not carry what my grandson needed. A 3 1/2 plus Van Doren reed. The man said they don’t make those. So, I bought a 3 1/2. I had to return the box of reeds, as there IS a 3 1/2 plus reed made. I had my 16 year old grandson with me. This man proceeded to berate us as the group Chicago doesn’t use those and if what they use are good enough for them, we should tell the teacher this is not needed. We were verbally lashed IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. I didn’t have the receipt, but remember the discount. This sarcastic man was so intimidating, we felt lousy. I should have been rude, but, as a 16 years old, accomplished clarinetist was with me, I did not, nor am I confrontational. We left, and went to QUINLAN AND FABISH in Burr Ridge, which I strongly recommend to anyone, it is worth the ride. They had, ON A RACK, the EXACT reeds my grandson needed. So, stay away from Midlothian Music.
In defense of my friend Aidan, most things you are accusing of us aren’t true. Yes we took a bass and a guitar off without asking. We were not aware of that rule because this was our first time trying out guitars at this store. Your associates did everything with the amps. They are the ones who had the volume up high. Only 3 of the 4 of us played guitars, and only two amps were available. I was cut off in the middle of a solo by your employee so that someone else could use it. Every few minutes we were asked if we would buy the guitar. I’m aware as a small business you need people to buy but di you expect a few 17 year olds to drop $500-1000 within 30 min of finding a guitar? We need things like strings and picks and wanted to buy local. After the pressure we recieved, we left without buying anything. So yes, maybe guitar center is better fit for us.
False/Misleading Product Description and no follow-up. I purchased a used Yamaha Student Alto sax that was advertised as being above excellent and completely cleaned (being taken apart, soaked, and cleaned with anything necessary being replaced to play perfectly). Transaction started out 5-Stars. Requested pictures, they sent the next day. Placed order and sent out the same day. When I received the package, the instrument was filthy on the inside and out. The mouthpiece was dirty and covered with scale and did not appear to be cleaned or sanitized. A few pads were completely decayed, several were cracked, some were caked with dirt and crystalized sugar. Food buildup on tone holes made playing extremely difficult. A handful of the rods were corroded. Requested refund a week ago. Emailed and messaged them several times. Silence from seller since.
Update: Response from vendor is false and misleading. Instrument was reported as in bad condition and not playing well within an hour of receipt and an RMA was requested 30 minutes later. Almost a week later with no response from the vendor a claim was filed. Instrument was purchased on Reverb and shipped 2,100 miles. If the vendor won’t respond, simply bringing it in isn’t an option. Reverb’s claim agent was unable to get any response from Midlothian either for several days, so they took the instrument back on their own policy.
Instrument was misrepresented. It was in an older-generation case, so it was not a “newer horn”. One of the pictures was from the actual instrument body showing it was in no way “super clean”. I did remove the keys to clean the pads and the holes to try to be a good customer and avoid an unnecessary return. It was when I did this that I saw how bad the instrument was. Purchased through Reverb, so all communication history (one-way) is well-documented. The seller admitted the instrument was a mess that wouldn’t play. The sad thing is the instrument was sent back to them in much better condition than I received it.

February 17, 2017 …. I was in Frankfort, Illinois planning on the purchase of the Deering Eagle II banjo. Much to my pleasant surprise Steve also had the Deering Vega Senator! I was able to try them both and after much deliberation I made my choice. DHG is the most relaxed, full service, huge inventory on site, and friendliest music store in the mid-west. Near Chicago, easy to reach and certainly the ‘go to’ place for any kind of stringed instrument! Owner/manager/stringed artist Steve Haberichter makes you feel very comfortable in his store! Jack J.
I am very impressed with this shop – both with the quality of their inventory as well as the responsiveness and professionalism of the staff. I brought in a guitar for potential trade, and Steve shot me straight with the value of it and what would be the best bang for my buck. I wound up getting a Collings from them and I will be back. Well worth the drive into Illinois despite the tolls.
These mugs are the beeze kneeze, they would win a be a good human contest.
The store carries beautiful high-end acoustic instruments. They also hold some impressive seminars and concerts. If you want the very best and can spend 6K on a guitar then this store may be for you. With a larger wallet, perhaps you will receive better treatment than I did. The red-haired owner of this store is probably the rudest retail store owner I have ever experienced. Of course, I wasn’t there to spend thousands of dollars. I simply went there to buy picks, strings, tab books, and to explore and discuss instruments with other music lovers. My initial visits were often greeted by cold, stiff, and awkward personalities. After multiple visits, I expected things would warm up, and while some staff were friendly, it was never a comfortable experience. This was especially true whenever the owner was present. Pompous and arrogant seem apt descriptions, and small talk and small wallets are beneath him.

Great local music shop. My daughter has been taking guitar lessons here for 5 years and loves it.
Great local shop. Knowledgeable staff. My son wanted a drum set for his tenth birthday so we shopped around; other places where a little cheaper but I felt like I was in a Wal-Mart full of instruments. This place gave a way more personal experience the way a music shop should be.
The workers are just the best
Yesterday I dropped my Telecaster to have the pick up switch replaced with a four-way switch. I will post the results afterwards.
