Amazing customer service! Went in to have my keyboard looked at for repair. Great people!
Great place! Highly Recommend! Sam and James were big help.
Admittedly small selection of instruments at this location, but for Citrus County resident musicians, not having to drive out of the county to get last minute music supplies like straps, strings, and pics, it’s a God-send to have them here! The woman who owns the store is very knowledgeable with her inventory and personable with her customers. I’ve purchased one guitar there, a ukulele, and countless little add ons. The prices are reasonable and I’ve never had anything but positive experiences at this establishment.

Stopped by the store last week to pick something up for my son and the lady running the store at the time did NOT EVEN BOTHER to put a mask on to be honest I didn’t even see a mask except for the one I was wearing
That tells me how much she cares about the safety of her customers
I will NEVER shop here again !!!
I took in my dulcimer to get a estimate on having the bridge lowered. They said they couldn’t get ahold of me so proceded to do the work without my approval. They ended up restringing it, which I didn’t ask for, and charged me $90 to lower the bridge. The bridge was not lowered enough so I still have to have someone else fix it! Never again!
There is no reason for anyone to visit this establishment, all I found there was a millennial with a dead eyed thousand mile stare, an utterly useless human being with no inventory.
3. Houston’s Beauty Supply
Address: 111 N Florida Ave, Inverness, FL 34453 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
We called Jim’s in regard to en exhaust leak and he said bring the truck in. We did just that and it was fixed within 20 minutes. Next up is for a complete new exhaust. We were recommended to him by two people and it was well worth it!
Backed into something and bent my tail pipe. Jim fixed it in a timely manner and very little cost.
Very nice, very honest. I will always recommend this shop.
Nice place but cash only
They did what we needed done so…..good job
In and out quickly and for a reasonable price, Recommended. Cash only.
I will after a brief phone call agree with John Mackey , this guy was a total a$$hole on the phone , cussing in inappropriate language to use around your present or future customers when you’re a business owner who’s livelihood depends on people like us . Do yourself a favor , save the aggravation and call or go elsewhere.
Garbage
This guy is a hack !
Had to bring my truck to CR and
have the exhaust work done right.
Don’t waste your time or money with
this guy. His equipment / shop is a mess and his lift is not level, BEWARE !!
5. CornerStone Music, LLC
Address: 798 W Montrose St, Clermont, FL 34711 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
Very good professional service talk to chris very nolligable gentelman
My go-to place for repairs. Quick and knowledgable with a very good selection of guitar/bass strings!
Best guitar store in Central Florida.
Really nice guys!
Excellent service as usual
Great local shop, sharp staff reasonable prices
For the several thousands of dollars my family has spent at this business, I expect Pete to be friendly/pleasant towards us(at the very least), for life, but he clearly can’t maintain that. He started acting rude towards my mom some years back, and now me. For no apparent reason. I hope that keeping that sour attitude of yours is worth losing 20+ year customers who often went out of their way to spend money at your establishment and stay local. Weird way to treat people who earned you money. Avoid. He’s one of those guys who thinks everyone is a “democrat”. Super solid reason to push customers away.
6. The Vibe Music Store
Address: 6126 N U.S. Hwy 41, Apollo Beach, FL 33572 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
Awesome place for jamming on Tuesday nights….
Just picked up my Les Paul from repairs done by Marty at the Vibe. My Guitar now sounds great after Marty did some wiring work on it. Strongly recommend this Place for any repairs…..
Amazing shop run by amazing people. This store is completely underrated!
great people that genuinely care about you. New and used gear, guitars and Ukuleles.
Doti and Terry are wonderful! I love family friendly small businesses.
Been there 3 times at a normal hr after work at around 3-4 pm. Every time door was locked 2 times saw someone inside who did not come to the door. I was ready to purchase a new guitar with. Cash in hand each time. Also get my drum kit repaired. So willing to spend quite a bit of cash. So disappointed. Closest store to me. My money went elsewhere.i will not step foot in this place if the doors are open.
turned away because i refused to wear a face diaper. when you want to return to reality, I’ll happily come in for a guitar lesson. Thanks.
We have left three voicemails in the last week to see about music lessons for my child and not once have they returned a call. No one ever answers the phone. Doubtful they can stay in business with these practices. We won’t be calling again.
7. Onstage Music
Address: 8123 Ridge Rd, Port Richey, FL 34668 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
I brought two of my Basses in for a setup and Kenny said if there were any additional tweaks I felt necessary afterward, just bring it back in and it will be taken care of.
And true to his word, I brought it back in and Kenny set the action according to my personal needs.
It’s not a one-size-fits-all situation. Every player has his own preferences according to his style of play and Kenny accommodated mine beautifully.
Great work, great prices, great store, great guy. Remember it’s “Onstage Music for all your musical needs”
He even comped me a set of bass strings. It’s a long story, but long story short, that’s what he did.
I’ve been buying guitars, drum and PA equipment from Bill for ten years. I always get the lowest price and expert service. I take all my old gear there for repairs and am always pleased. The lessons are great too, I’ve taken both voice and guitar lessons there.
Greatest music store ever. I wont go anywhere else.
The previous owner Bill treated his customers like family until he sold his shop to a bunch of crooks, I needed the new owner Kenny to put new strings on my guitar and he could not even do that right because my strings broke one after the other and when I asked him to restring the guitar he ordered that I’d have to pay him for the strings again and re-installation and when I asked for a refund he said “Absolutely not, because this would’ve never happened with any of my other customers” I asked “why are you doing this?” And he replied “what are you going to do about it?”
He is located above the theater on the circle. The door is on the left side of the building. Very informative and wonderful service.
Very nice and will to help you out on what you need
A little hard to find but very nice and helpful service.
I bought some guitar picks. The entrance is on the side of the building, go up the stairs and down the hall. They have guitars for sale and give music lessons.
Its a smaller store so not everything is there. it can be ordered so.. Its cool
well stocked mom and pop music store. a bit difficult to find, above the theatre on the circle in Sebring FL. reasonable prices. good folks.
Would not restring my guitar at 340pm when they close at 4pm. Poor customer service. Loss of prospective customer.
10. Carlton Music Center
Address: 1902 Harden Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33803 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
This is the best music store I have ever worked with. The staff is incredible. Mark is extremely knowledgeable on pro sound, and Joe is the best acoustic guitar guy in the business. Our every experience with them, from lessons for the four kids, to buying instruments has been A++++
Small but well-stocked family owned store, friendly staff. They didn’t have the guitar I wanted in stock but I am sure they could get it. I will shop here in the future.
Hometown music store with generous school music programs. Rent-to-own/credit is a great option.
Is a very nice place with people that is willing to help
Went in there to buy a drum head because Guitar Center wasn’t open yet or I’d certainly have went there instead. EVERYTIME I’m in this store I get watched and questioned like I’m going to steal something. It’s a very uncomfortable environment. No other customer was in there yet, and as soon as I walk in, they’re all stopping what they’re doing and looking at me asking if I needed help, and I said “I’m just getting a drum head…thank you.”, and I wasn’t looking for 2 minutes, and heard another employee say “everything okay over there?”….YES GEEZ!!!! Can someone take a few minutes and decide what product they want!? Just because you’re looking doesn’t mean you’re plotting a GD theft! It’s a $20 drum head! Gimme a friggin’ break! And ya know…much to their surprise…I PAID FOR IT! Guitar Center sucks too, but at least they give you freedom to comfortably browse at inventory without being asked what you’re doing. There’s no excuse for that behavior. Innocent until proven guilty….not in that place, it’s guilty until they see otherwise. From now on, I’ll wait for Guitar Center to open. I won’t spend another dime in Carlton until they get the FBI…I mean, their employees under control…
Customer service didn’t know how to fi d piano music I needed to purchase.
Wish I could’ve left zero stars. I guess customer service doesn’t exist anymore. The young girl working the counter seemed overwhelmed and when she asked the longer haired gentleman at repair for help he seemed bothered. Just needed someone to look at my clarinet I have had for 30+ years to make sure it still functioned properly. They said they could send it off to the repair shop!! What a joke. Not sure how ypu work in a music store, but know NOTHING about the instruments.
11. Jimmy’s Vintage Music
Address: 108 Main St, Auburndale, FL 33823 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
Jimmy has the coolest vintage gear around. Definitely my favorite music shop
Jimmy has a great shop with a huge amount of knowledge and was amazing to do business with I had 6 guitars and an amp to sell and he was fair and paid me on the spot …. Thanks again
I’ve been going for so long he has so a great selection that continues to change and grow what a hidden treasure I bought a hofner bass from him and couldn’t be happier he has great advice and any one who has had Lemmy come into your shop and buy gear you know your doing something right thanks jimmy for choosing Auburndale
Nice older instruments
Selection look ok but the owner is not very friendly and seemed in a rush to get either a sale or us out of there.
As far a I know, buying a new guitar takes time and testing how each one sounds before the purchase. The owner did not offer to test any guitar and when asked he was very reluctant. So, out we were to never go back.
Prices could be a little better but staff is always helpful and knowledgeable
I felt like I was bothering the owner because I was interested in guitars under $500……..
Called in about a violin and the guy who answered the phone gave some wrong information. He was certain he was giving me the correct information but he was wrong. Do not recommend for any questions regarding an old violin.
I used to like this place but none of the employees or customers are wearing masks. Pretty messed up to wilfully endanger the community but that’s Auburndale for you.
12. Hoggtowne Music
Address: at Thornebrook Village Shopping Center, 2441 NW 43rd St STE 26B, Gainesville, FL 32606 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
This was our third music store for the day. We live over an hour away. We had purchased a lyre off amazon and went in to see why it would not fit her “mellophone”. Turns out she has a marching French horn. We got a lesson on the differences and he was able to supply the correct equipment. He was extremely helpful and friendly. This is her first year in marching band and although I am completely in love with amazon…….we will be driving to Gainesville to this store from now on.
Great bunch of guys. Will use their services again.
Genuine old school locally owned music store. Great selection of Guitars, amps, ukuleles, accessories etc. Has a great new selection of Martin Guitars. Lovely folks.
I had an extremely frustrating experience with this shop. They did have a nice selection of Martins at reasonable prices and seemed like a decent shop otherwise.
I wouldn’t use them to have your guitar repaired. They charged me more then the usual and it came back buzzing all over.
Went the first time and was sold the wrong book for my daughter’s class because of an incorrect order from hoggtowne. My daughter came back to exchange for the correct book and they would not exchange without original credit card . They knew it came from them. Came back a third time sent my daughter in with all the card to swap the book and of course no more books . Now they want my daughter to get my card pin for a return I came into the store and the guy continued to ask me for my pin I try to support local but they were so disorganized, agrevating and clueless that I ordered the book online and will cut my 10 loss to not waste anymore time. Bad service is bad service and they were in no way helpful I’m my experience. The first time was a mistake the second time was just rise and the third time was enough to write this .
I’m not sure what forwarding it to her instructor will help. I get that someone made a mistake. It happens. But you should have swapped her book when she came in and you had them. Instead she was told you couldn’t exchange it without the card it was purchased with. What kind of policy is that I can’t exchange a book that someone made a mistake on without the card… I appreciate the offer to credit my 10 but I will not spend a fourth trip or more more of my time in this effort. Mistakes happen but bad service is bad service .
Went to get a tuner they needed to price correct from the site, and they did. But also got a Hohner Puck that was repackaged (to be fair, idk if by them) and a draw hole didn’t work at all. That was the last one, so they had to switch with an Old Standby, and if you know harmonicas, that’s just a trade down even though it was more expensive on their shelf. I know it’s harder to do a refund, but I’d have rathered that. These things combined left a bad taste in my mouth.

14. Guitar Center
Address: 3165 US Hwy 98 N, Lakeland, FL 33805 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
I stopped by because my Ibanez electric guitar was having a lot of fret buzz. I spoke with Tommy, the repair technician. He was awesome at trouble shooting what I needed to do. In the end, he suggested I use thicker strings to compensate for my drop C tuning. I ended up following his advice, and the fret buzz went away. He did great!
Good place to shop
Nice variety of instruments and parts needed.
Good place
A cool place to go when needed.
Very friendly
Ventured into Guitar Center in Lakeland, FL today with $3k in my pocket to purchase a new acoustic guitar. I wanted to play some Taylor’s and Martin’s to decided what route I wanted to go. I asked the lady employee who was in the acoustic room if she could unlock a Taylor 416CE so I could feel it. She said that she had to get the manager to bring the keys and she would be right back. She returned about 5 minutes later and told me the manager wouldn’t come and said that I couldn’t play the guitar. I’m a working musician with 20 years experience on the road. I will NEVER do business in that store again. Very unprofessional of the manager. You lost a $2500 sale today. I’ll go to Tampa.
Poor sevice
Terrible service. Rude to my elderly father. Changed price of equipment I needed at register. Ended up spending a thousand dollars and the guy even forgot to give me my three sets of extra strings I bought.
I specifically asked for a demonstration for the gear I was buying and was ushered out the moment I paid saying sorry they were closing.
The manager tried to make this right and honestly he is a good guy but his staff suck and I’ll never go back.
15. Island Music
Address: 465 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
Great people, great service, knowledgeable and fair pricing
Awesome shop with an extremely helpful and friendly staff. Definitely my new go to music shop!
Very helpful staff got what I needed!
Great customer service
Music is great and the service is better. I definitely recommend this over a guitar center.
It’s a nice store..good music stuff
Has quite a few instruments for the size. Has a recording studio for what that’s worth. I’ve heard some of the noise that come out of there??
Don’t expect any service though. I think the average age of the employees is about 17. And of course they are all Woke and don’t have a clue. Didn’t see any Quota Hires? So if your buying strings or picks you should be good. I really tried hard to buy a guitar there a couple years ago. Ended up ordering a Taylor from Taylor because they wouldn’t. To lazy I guess?
ENTER AT OWN RISK
No part that I needed said they could get it it’ll take about two weeks I order to myself up on Amazon and already got it sorry sorry customer service
Dropped off hubbys fender said would be done in few days…went back in one week nothing done didnt even order part…gave another week still nothing done no part even ordered. Just picked up guitar will go to sam ash. Lost a customer.
16. Music Matters
Address: 4112 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34655 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
All around a great place. We started by taking our son and daughter for music lessons. Then I joined in for Drum lessons. Raymond, the drum instructor does great with me as an adult, but also with my 10yr old son. We were able to get equipment at a great price as the store was clearing some inventory. Kevin the owner is always friendly and he seems to have a great team.
I recommend this store. Friendly and great customer service. They also have music lesson programs.
Great place for music lessons and to buy instruments. My guitar teacher Kevin is a great teacher. Very patient. My daughter’s violin teacher is wonderful as well. I am very glad I found this place. Also, to all those that play guitar left handed like I do. They have those available. I highly recommend this music store.
Great Instructors. No pressure, ample space and knowledgeable staff! Great place for lessons!
Edit: Owner offers whole string change for free. 1 star to 3 stars.
They charged me 5 DOLLARS for one guitar string change. My E string broke and they previously replaced it for free so I bought a pick holder for my guitar. So I came back, and thought I might buy some picks or something if they did it for free or for cheap again, but then the guy at the counter says it would cost 5 whole dollars, 2 for the string, 3 for tuning and setup. The tuning and setup took 30 seconds.
Go somewhere else for string changes or learn it yourself. That’s what I’ll be doing.
More of a place for music lessons than a music shop, but does include a variety of guitar equipment although a bit pricey. The cashier wasn’t too personable, however a friendly and knowledgeable gentleman (could have been an instructor or owner) helped me choose the best pick for my guitar.
Selling must be a casual hobby, must be trust fund babies . no keyboards , poor service ! Then don’t advertise that you have them.
If you want to be argued with and insulted when you are more informed than the ‘tech’ go here. Tried to sell me a used accessory out of the ‘techs’ bag for triple the price because the store didn’t have them. Then I showed him the price for a new identical piece and he got flustered and agitated
For someone who is already a musician.. This place sucks. I went in to buy a pack of guitar strings because I was in a bind, and a pack of Ernie ball strings were $8.25? RIP OFF. Everywhere ive ever bought the same strings they have been $3-$4 cheaper. Plus,The sales associate didn’t even look at me, acknowledge I was there or anything. Plus! We was wearing a Karate uniform? I don’t about about their lessons. But for general sales.. I will never ever go here again.
17. Music & Arts
Address: 1673 WP Ball Blvd, Sanford, FL 32771 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
I recently decided to pick up a hobby and went to this location and met with Marc. He was extremely informative and spent a lot of time making sure I had the right equipment needed to begin practicing guitar. He was very knowledgeable and he really made me feel conformable in my buying decisions. I have since referred a few of my friends to this location because of him. I am really glad I chose this location because dealing with Marc made me wish that there were more people like him in a general buying experience.
Huge thank you to Rebecca and the team at Music and Arts Sanford. They truly care about their customers, and do great work.
Took my son in because he needed new strings. I know nothing about guitars, so I called and I spoke with Aaron who was very knowledgeable and decided we’d go. Niko was super sweet and very helpful. Everyone that came in and out while we were there looked happy and Niko spent a good amount of time with my son going over everything and was truly helpful. This will be our music store from here on out. Thanks again!!
They are exceptionally nice!
It was our first time going there. The guy working there was very helpful. The store has a good variety of gutars and other instruments. They also give lessons at the store.
They would not return some unopened items we purchased while trying out an instrument. I had to return for a manager and push to get some of the items returned. All I wanted was credit toward a different instrument and even that was a challenge. Make sure you want to keep what your buying.
The guys here are great, the issue is the company itself. I rented a guitar years ago for my daughter, no issues, the bill came out automatically and i returned when classes were over.
Then my next daughter rented the flute for school. I find out a year later that not a single payment has been withdrawn, I own the flute, and I owe $1200 for it. I have a bunch of kids and bills when I set up automatic payments, I expect that the payments are going through unless I get some sort of notification or call telling me otherwise, even just one call.. The card on file is fine, nobody can provide me a reason why I’ve never been charged. The only call i receive is harassing debt collectors two days ago.
My child and I went here first before going to another local music store on recommendation. I dont usually post bad reviews but thought i must for anyone else having their child starting band. This place will try and pressure you into trying to buy whatever it is they have to sell for the week. the employees are rude and wont give you the time of day if you are there with just questions. not to mention the arrogance felt from them. save yourselves the time and find another store.
The most horrible customer service. They stand behind the counter, don’t help anyone and act like you don’t exist. With small businesses struggling, you’d think they would know how to actually serve people. Will never shop there again. Not to mention, thier prices are outrageous compared to other music stores. Don’t waste your time.
18. Granado Accordion Center
Address: 1912 E Co Rd 478, Webster, FL 33597 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
Just purchased a small used piano accordian from Tomas. Gave me a small credit for a trade-in on the purchase. Very pleased.
Very friendly and professional.
Recommend giving to this place a shot. Need more pictures, reviews, and information.
Took my Accordion in, he fixed it fast and was very professional. I would recommend his services to anyone.
19. Carlton Music Center
Address: 308 Ave D NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
Excellent customer service. The gentlemen in there are so nice and helpful.
They were very helpful with all my questions i needed answered
Pleasant experience everytime
Solid local music shop. Knowledge staff. They may not have as much as the bigger chains on hand but they’re great special ordering what they can get through suppliers
Everyone was very helpful and nice.
Lots of items. A little pricey. Conveniently located in downtown Winter Haven.
Don’t waste your time! Shop at Guitar Center, better service, better prices, and better warranty’s.
If I could give this store zero stars, I would. The staff is ultra rude. One would figure they would want their customers to touch and play their guitars so they can make a sale. If I have to ask for permission to play a guitar, then you don’t REALLY want my money. I’ve been playing guitar longer than most of the staff has been alive and I get treated by the staff like I’ve never seen a guitar in my life. Stay away from this place and go to the Lakeland location where they treat their customers like the Rock Gods they are.
Just called the store on December 14, 2022 @1120am to learn from their products and service. Who ever picked the phone had no customer service training and his ways were to be totally rude. He treated me like if I was dumb ( does not seem to want new customers), I could not believe he was mad for asking questions. Ok, it seems I will have to spend my $4060 budget somewhere else. I had to write this review and tell everyone to be aware. I am so glad I saw the true colors of this place before spending a dime. Have a nice day guys!
20. Total Music Source
Address: 901 East Industrial Circle #10, Cape Coral, FL 33909 , Inverness Highlands South , Florida , United States
Beautiful store !! Excellent Customer service !! This is the place to go for your music needs.
Paul helped me with every question I had, this place blows any other music store around outta the water 🙂 they have unique items like acoustic bass, banjolele, and lap steel guitars 🙂 they have a great variety of strings too 🙂
Not open
Very overpriced, better off going to Guitar Center in Fort Myers. 🙁
Unsociable Staff and Harrassing Owner has a lack of genuine empathy when it comes to services for students in the local area. Too busy threatning local businesses over miniscule situations. I highly recommend Cadence Music Store or Guitar Center in Fort Myers for more prompt and reliable service. Worth The Drive!
