We had Ben for our wedding ceremony with the ukulele and he was great! Great communication throughout the booking process and very affordable! Thank you Ben!
My husband and I hired Ben to play during our ceremony and cocktail hour at our wedding and we were very pleased! Communication was easy. He is very talented and our guests really enjoyed him.
4. Nicole Saunders CD store
Address: 45-552 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744 , Kahalu‘u , Hawaii , United States
Small shop located second floor in a peach colored building and from the front you only see window store. Workers were helpful and seems to be one of the last stores on the island. Should try to keep going there before there is nothing left.
We had such a great experience here and will definitely be coming back again. The staff was very kind, honest, helpful and super knowledgeable in getting our son resized for a new Viola. I’m beyond impressed with the service they provided.
Excellent shop knowledgeable staff
Very helpful service.
Too far.
The shop is great. But the entrance is the only funny thing about the shop. Idk how you would get upstairs with a string bass upstairs with any ease. The shop is quite tight as well.
I didnt know you can’t be laughed at cause you didn’t have enough cash on you … How low class can you be ….
They don’t buy used instrument
6. Easy Music Center
Address: 1314 S King St STE G1, Honolulu, HI 96814 , Kahalu‘u , Hawaii , United States
Had everything i was looking for, incredible inventory and super friendly and knowledgeable staff
They have everything you could possibly need for the performing musician!
Awesome staff. Thank you Hans Chiote your help.
Man was I happy to find this place. Its like Guitar Center with a family owned showroom atmosphere. Very personable staff. Always happy to see you walk in. Wont get annoyed with your questions. They really try and help you find what you want when you are indecisive. They have everything you need, their floor is laid out nice and convenient. Ive never had a bad interaction with anyone that works there. I’ve been to both locations here on oahu.
The place has great stuff and variety of music equipments.
Fairly well stocked music store, with very poor parking facilities for its central location on a very busy main thoroughfare–I have driven into the parking lot several times but never found an open stall there or anywhere in the neighborhood during the middle of the day. Only found an open stall one time to visit the store and bought a few guitar accessories. Fortunately, we have Coconut Grove Music here in Kailua to visit. New website needs a LOT of work compared to mainland vendors, but that’s pretty standard for businesses in Hawaii where webmasters are hired on a monthly part-time basis, it seems…
Spent almost $500, they wont negotiate and the sales guy wasnt to helpfull.not the worst but definitely not a great experience.
Worst music store I’ve ever been to. Extremely difficult to work with & not helpful at all. Gave me the wrong item & would not let me return it. Kept me waiting forever when I tried to return an item and I had a flight to catch.
Very rude & confrontational. Avoid this place at all cost & do NOT go here!
The take no accountability & the blame everything on the customer.
Disappointed in guitar diagnostic and repair. First time I brought my guitar in, the guy didn’t know what was causing the buzzing, so I paid the diagnostic fee knowing he tried.
Later at home, I found a loose brace and took it back for a repair, I’m wondering if he even looked inside the guitar.. Again I paid the repair fee for the loose brace, but again he said he couldn’t fix the buzzing and sent me home still disappointed.
Again, through trial and error at home, I noticed a small crack on the surface that I could easily feel on the inside.. And with a little pressure on that spot, the buzzing goes away! Surely he missed this problem too..so I will be going elsewhere for diagnostic and repairs from now on.

REECE and the boys at guitar center are always so helpful
I ALWAYS have a fun time even if I’m not there to buy anything, I would go so far as to say this is the best Guitar shop I’ve ever been to in my whole life ✨
(and I’ve been to more than a few)
Plenty of Aloha
Much Mahaloz

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Very very helpful, went to maintenance area to restore a vintage guitar, person who helped were very knowledgeable with a friendly demeanor. Than went to the ukulele section and met another helpful and friendly person who provided all my wife’s answers she wanted to know about ukuleles. Guitar center is like a candy store with things I like, I enjoy going there.
It’s a big business, and I always prefer smaller local businesses, but it’s a good store!
Though it pains me to admit, given how hard our local music stores have worked to stay alive, the experience of visiting this mainland franchise was impressive. I was surprised at how large the store was, and yet packed to the gills with equipment and instruments. And there’s a lot here for media makers like podcasters, too. The icing on the cake was the classroom for guitar and bass classes, something my wife might just try. Pearl Highlands is one of my least favorite shopping centers, but Guitar Center is definitely a highlight.
Been trying to get an associate to answer their phone for the past 5 day with no luck. Simply trying to find out if they carry a certain product before driving down from Hawaii Kai. Must be always super busy or super short short handed, Bummer!!
I was not able to purchase my items because they don’t take cash after a certain time and that was weird. I felt judged by some of the men that work there. they were not to friendly on top of it all. it was not a good experience overall for me.
Poor customer service… instead of trying to help, told to speak to manufacturer on missing item in box. They apparently don’t want to help or stand by a product that they sell, even though I paid extra for warranty.
Tried to buy a ukulele and they tried to sell it without the case that was supposed to come with it. When I asked about the case, they couldn’t find it. Will take my money elsewhere from now on.
0-2 on purchases at this store. Not a good first impression.
8. Goodguys Music & Sound LLC
Address: 619 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815 , Kahalu‘u , Hawaii , United States
Apropos name…Good Guys Music. They truly are Good Guys.
Bought a Kala ukulele here. The chap was helpful and somewhat knowledgeable. Prices are decent. And the people are friendly. I suppose they live up to their namesake.
Staffing was very helpful and informed. Great selections of guitars, pedals and amps. They sell new and used and can sometimes make small repairs to guitars.
Great shop. Nice guys. A touch overpriced.
Parking can be a challenge. Decent selection of used gear.
Very unhelpful. Asked what ibwas looking for, didnt even look at me. I was looking for hand percussion, drums. Was told he only had egg shakers. There was a drum in the window, and two in front of me. I just figured maybe they weren’t for sell.
I am a repeat customer and always enjoyed the friendly service. I have bought several baritone ukuleles of various value and was always satisfied. However, today I spoke with Chris? And confirmed that I wanted to purchase the cheaper of the two that he said they have. At 4:30 pm I called him to let him know that I was on my way. He stated that they were filming inside the store but he would meet me outside and said “I got you” I thanked him. When I got there he informed me that he sold the ukulele!!! I was visibly bummed. He said that the customer had the ukulele in his hand and he didn’t want to tell him no. I asked if they still had the more expensive one ($500) nah was ($200) for real. He said yup, so I told him I would purchase it. I went to the ATM and even paid the additional fee because he said would be more convenient so I said sure. I got back just as he was coming from the back. Ukulele in hand, no case or box or receipt. He even threw in a tuner. I was stocked. In my excitement I tried to tune it as soon as i got to my car. Was having difficulties from the very start. Eventually even with the tuner. Really bummed. I ripped the strings right off the uke. Even burned the tuner with my altered torch. Luckily it was enough to destroy the tuner. If I am not able to get a replacement one, even if it’s cheaper one then I will be handling this matter between Chris and myself(Scott T Kurosu). I was very impressed by Chris’s quick response. I was able to go down the very next day and after hearing my feeliepairedengs about the situation he offered to replace my uke. However I would have to wait for the next delivery. I asked him if he could repair my uke, nothing fancy just as long as it works. He repaired it and also gave me $100 out of his own pocket. I am very grateful and happy. Thank you Chris Aloha & god bless

I’ll be going there on Monday, talked with the owner, he was very polite and gave me good instructions. I can’t wait to meet him with my husband. I’ll share this with my friends and family also.
This place has everything you need and they are very helpful, awesome.
First time there and very helpful
Employee was helpful, knowledgeable about music instrument. Park right in front of store
Kewl place. Buy local.
11. Guitar Honolulu
Address: 46-022 Alaloa St # J1, Kaneohe, HI 96744 , Kahalu‘u , Hawaii , United States
Great instructor. Reasonable prices for beginners so a person or your child can see if they are interested in playing the guitar. I can’t say enough about this guy offering guitar lessons, who he is as a person.
Great music instructor. A very friendly, kind, and effective teacher.
12. Tom’s Piano Studio
Address: 46-359 Haiku Rd, Kaneohe, HI 96744 , Kahalu‘u , Hawaii , United States
This place is awesome I have bought two ukes from here. Stop In check it out.
Great staff and great selection! True Aloha spirit.
I called Andrew and told him what kind of sound I wanted from my next ukulele purchase. He listened patiently, and said he would call me back after he tried some ukes out himself. Sure enough the call me back within the hour and recommended a Pono pro classic with a spruce top and rosewood sides and back. He also recommended low g tuning with a wound third and fourth string. I followed his advise, got my new uke within a few days, and it had exactly the sound I was looking for. Thanks Andrew and Hawaii Music Supply!
We just caught a glimps of this place on our way home from shave ice and the shrimp truck today. Because we were on our way back to ukulele lessons at our resort, we decided to make a sharp tirn and check this place out…and boy did we hit the jackpot. As soon as we entered, we were geeeted with a nice hawaiian hello and promptly assisted in finding out which instrument would be best for our hand size and experience. Since we were here for my grandson, we got a really good deal on a ukelele with a gig bag, tuner and extra string to boot. All at a price that didn’t make you feel like you were in the islands. They even gave us a ahort tour of their valuable website full of information and learning videos. I will surely recommend this to my friends and other family who have shown interest in learning to play the ukelele.
I have been here 3 times buying a ukulele the first time and taking friends the other times and each one bought a ukulele
Went into the store to buy two ukuleles, the guy totally ignored us, didn’t say hello or ask if we gad any questions. After looking on our own at 15 ukuleles, and still nothing we went elsewhere. What a great customer service. Wow!
Towing scam. They will tow your vehicle. Stay away from these garbage shops
Go elsewhere way over priced and the website price is not even close to the actual price they charge in the store .
15. Aloha Piano
Address: 46-135 Hilinama St, Kaneohe, HI 96744 , Kahalu‘u , Hawaii , United States
The Aloha Piano approach for a beginning piano student has been nothing short of amazing. The instructor, Huichen, emphasizes learning a particular piano skill through a combination of storytelling, art and a bit of improvisation. My son was so happy to learn pentatonic, chords, arpeggio and more using this approach. Later, set pieces are introduced that sound great and are within reach of the student. If there is anything confusing in the lesson, Huichen will quickly adjust her approach to make sure the concept is clear to the student. As a result, my son plays the piano with joy and confidence and willingly practices on his own.
After only two months of working with Hueichen Tsai, I’m pleased to say that I’m playing with both hands, and making sense of many terms that I’ve been hearing for three years.
I no longer have notes on my keys as aids in my playing!
Thank you so much, Hueichen, for helping me develop my playing skills, and confidence!
For those who have looked for traditional piano lessons, this studio will seem novel and strange. All I can say is my daughter prefers learning piano by this new method and has a repertoire of catchy songs that she can play whenever she wants. She is learning some traditional music reading as well.
16. Crazy Box Recording Room
Address: 45-202 Puali KOA Pl, Kaneohe, HI 96744 , Kahalu‘u , Hawaii , United States
On our latest visit to Honolulu we decided to visit Kamaka Hawaii, and see where these legendary instruments are made. The factory tour was great, and definitely worth the time. Fred Kamaka Jr. gave us a wonderful tour, and obviously takes pride in the family business, with an amazing 104 year history. My wife already has three ukuleles, but the next will definitely be a Kamaka. Thanks Fred!
Best ukuleles in the universe
The tour of Kamala’s factory was amazing! Such a great experience to learn about the history of ukuleles, the company’s heritage, and also to see the process of how a Hawaiian uke is made.
It’s a great activity for anybody, including those who aren’t ukulele players themselves. Staff are super friendly and they also have some very neat merchandise available.
I brought my ukulele for repairs and it will possibly be months to get it back due to a repair backlog so I can’t comment on that. While there, we were offered a tour. Mr. Fred Kamaka, at 93, presented a lively history of ukulele and the Kamaka brand (in it’s 102nd year!). His son followed with a tour of the factory while explaining techniques and showing us samples of each part of the instrument. Not only was the 1 1/2 hour tour well done, but it was free! I highly recommend a visit!
Un lugar con ukeleles preciosos tanto en diseño como en sonoridada pero muy caros y con una lista de espera muy larga
Polite and friendly family business. Wouldn’t buy a ukulele anywhere else.

If you’re looking for a music school that will foster your child’s musical ability I highly recommend Kapena School of Music! Their school is conveniently located at Windward Mall. There’s lots of sitting room throughout the mall to do work or just hang out and talk stories. I really enjoyed watching my son blossom through the different musical instruments this summer taught by highly skilled artists! Aunty Kalena went above & beyond to schedule a percussion lesson when I double booked another activity. You can see the love that the family has & a passion for what they do! Their Aloha for our keiki shined through their performance at center stage! Demand live music & support locally owned businesses! Our keiki are our future! Sing Loud!!
