My son is a college music major and was looking for a 5 octave “practice piece” when we found the Monkman Studios website. I reached out to Jesse Monkman to inquire about the studio and the marimba, as at first it seemed “too good to be true”. My son’s marimba arrived last week and it is EVERYTHING promised! We were able to Facetime Jesse to ask questions, see and hear him play his marimba, and have him explain the different features. This is an investment, and trusting in someone you have just met was at first a bit intimidating. Jesse was very honest and transparent with all aspects of this process, and being mom, I would frequently email to check on progress and shipping (: Jesse was extremely patient and gracious, usually responding the next day! My son said the assembly instructions were clear and he was able to assemble alone. The look and sound is everything he hoped for, truly a beautifully and well built professional piece. I would highly recommend you reach out to Monkman Studios, an adjustable 5 octave marimba with resonators of this quality will not be found at this price! We have had a very positive experience…he even offers a student discount!

Cool place. Just opened. It’s nice to see a locally owned record store on Lookerman! Neil and Eric have done cool records with fair prices for vinyl. I look forward to seeing the selections over the upcoming weeks and months.
Very nice record store! Neil was very informative and kind, quite interesting to talk to. There’s a variety of music, on a variety of formats. They had just what I was looking for, too! I’m very happy with my purchase. Rocking out to In The Air Tonight!

We were there for 1st time for grandsons music recital and i was impressed with the amount of musical instruments available. Cool place!
Always friendly staff
I just took my first lesson with Daniel Collins. It was great!! I appreciate the enthusiasm, positive attitude, and knowledge. Down to Earth and easy to work with. I am looking forward to my next lesson, and I know this will greatly benefit my playing. If you are considering taking lessons, don’t hesitate. My opinion, it will be worth it!!!
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I find their prices a little higher than elsewhere, but their location is convenient, and sometimes it’s just easier going into a store rather than dealing with another music store on the phone.
Mat was a great guy that works for you.Spent 4,500 this year already.
Signing up for lessons with this company is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. Their billing practices are extremely criminal. They continue to charge you after you have canceled services with them. They also bill you for holidays when their business was closed and you received no services. The representatives in the store and on the customer service line are no help with billing as they know nothing. You are billed money on a different date each month but never receive a statement for what you are being charged for. This company seems to be money hungry and filled with thieves. I would never recommend anyone doing business or taking lessons from this crooked company.
Went to purchase my 8 year old daughter piano lessons back in December and was told I needed to purchase a piano or she wouldn’t succeed in lessons. I explained she wasn’t even clear if this is something she wanted to peruse but just wanted to try it. The cashier wasn’t helpful and I went out hopeless. Fast forward to a little over 2 months and we found an excellent instructor who guided us toward a keyboard to practice and she absolutely loves it. A piano purchase is probably in the near future but I won’t be returning to this shop. Just to think, this visit to the store could of altered my daughters life had I gave up.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. It’s sad that the schools direct you to such a in trustful company. Please take advice and stay away from this place.

Sales person knows what you really need quick to demonstrate items very patient.
Helpful. Well stocked. Locally owned.
Have gone here many times over the years passing through. The staff is always friendly.
I was looking for a sound system. Two staff advised me in selecting equipment.
Nice people! Big store with lots of options!!
Went in looking to make a large purchase of a new Les Paul. The staff member helping me was great, but when it came time for me to make a decision I asked them what they could do on the price because same guitar is $400 cheaper online with free shipping. I’m paying cash in hand so to make a over $2000 dollar sale cash. Most stores would be straight forward and match the online price or even $100 less to have excellent customer experience, but no I felt like I was in a car dealers office waiting to hear some bull. Left and did not buy and won’t be back. Further more most of their guitars had supper old strings and are just poorly maintained so they don’t play well and the whole reason to go to a guitar store is to play the instruments so you know you’re getting a great player but with poor maintenance that’s impossible. So might as well buy online and chance the same thing for cheaper price.
Local music stores are a dead concept. Prices are too high coupled with all sales final return policies and poorly maintained inventory. This store is always dead and completely empty whenever I have visited it. When ever I’ve gone into any music store Earl teat or B&B I just feel like they’ve missed the point. They’re so out of touch with the current market it’s like why bother to even exists. These stores must make their money off renting out instruments to middle school children because for musicians these stores don’t offer anything. They’re out of loop with what’s hot and what people want to buy so there’s no reason to shop here. Both Earl teat and B&B say they can order you stuff and it take a week or so to get but why? I can get what I want 1 or 2 day with Amazon Prime or just drive up to Guitar Center in Wilmington and get it the same day. These stores need to rethink themselves and get into the century.
I called for a possible internship opportunity for my school summer project since I plan on pursuing a career in music education. I asked to speak with the store manager and the employee said he was not in at the moment. Usually I am asked for my information after this to give to the store manager but he didn’t ask so as anyone else I offered if he could give my information to him. The employee then hung up on me in my face. I believe his name was John but I did not appreciate this experience at all.

Ashley Mitchell and Donald Marvel are amazing musicians who have an amazing ability teaching all levels of students. My girls have taken vocal lessons from Ashley for over 4 years.
Ashley and Donald have taken the time and patience to teach students all varieties and levels at the students pace
Highly recommend this awesome duo of local musicians to bring the next generation of musicians their experience and knowledge
It is great
Incredible instructors who are genuine and skilled. Very thankful for the business they are building in the community.

They have a great selection in movies new and used dvdsets and figures but i wish there was more selections in cds if you are looking for new cds great oldskool hard to find but still a nice store and great deals and prices
Items I wanted were in stock. Good sales going on. EXCELLENT SALES STAFF!! VERY HELPFUL!!
Excellent store
My husband did more shopping and I browsed. Looked like they had a good selection, some shirt sales. He found movies for a collection. Quite a few customers in here.
Pretty cool stuff
Junky tween store
=( I would give it more stars, but I am highly disappointed in the ”blind” box from japan crate. Every single one of them had been opened and retaped. I even asked if they had any dokidoki crates in the back that HADN’T been opened. I was told no! The point of a ”blind” box is that no one knows what’s in them til they are purchased! with that, I’m only giving one star and calling the head office about it!
I just really find myself passing by this store more and more. Over the years, this became less of a pop culture store and more of a Weeaboo paradise. They always have the same Pop figure selection, and the same pocky/Ramone assortment. It’s like the store has a lot to offer but it seldom changes in variety. Really what kills the experience of coming in is the employees. There’s one guy who’s been there awhile (not sure if he still works there) who’s chill, but everyone else is always pushing that magazine subscription. I highly recommend only using cash if you do see something you like for sale. Because even if you say no to the magazine subscription, they seem to still take your card info and subscribe you anyway. And then you gotta call each magazine place to cancel.
And this is a recent experience, there’s a girl with dyed hair and piercings that works there and she’s rude to customers that don’t greet her. I walked in with my man and it wasn’t until Minutes of looking around before she greeted us with our backs turned. I said I was fine. And there was silence. And she rudely says,
“Oh, I’m fine thanks for asking.”
Like I know it’s the polite thing to do but seriously she works there, and I do apologize for my lapse of manners but we were already looking around.
Maybe the store just isn’t my thing anymore. Maybe it’s more teenager oriented now.
The store is fun and pretty cool however they ruined it for me when the cashier asked me to sign up for the vip program and never told me of a monthly fee. They went ahead and charged the credit card that I used for Xmas gift purchases. I wasn’t aware and never gave permission to have any future charges. Beware of signing up for anything from them. They will charge you monthly and don’t tell you that they will.
I will never again even go in their store let alone buy anything.
17. Timbella Music Studio & Piano Lessons
Address: 1235 E Division St, Dover, DE 19901 , Kent Acres , Delaware , United States
Timbella Music Studio is nothing but a GODSEND!
My little sister lost her father 2 years ago now and it was devastating and still is. She’s so young to have had experienced a loss of a parent.
Bella really took her under her wing and sparked a light back into a little girl who was so quiet and uncomfortable with people interaction. I’ve been to two of my sister’s concerts so far and both times I cried. They’ve been giving my sister vocal and violin lessons and what they’ve done is given a little girl her voice back. She gets up on that stage and looks comfortable and confident in her own skin. Bella and Tim are wonderful people and help to give back to community and children across the world through donations and their own money, time, and effort. If you’re looking to get your child(ren) into music lessons, i recommend them 1000%. What they stand for and who they are is so special. You will not be disappointed!
Proud Sister ❤️
My daughter and I take violin lessons with Izabela. I’ve gotten to know both Izabela and Timothy. They are both not just amazing teachers but also amazing human beings as well.
All the staff I’ve met is just as wonderful as well. I’m extremely happy we chose them!!!
I contacted these people concerning violin lessons. They never answered my email or phone call. However, they used my email to solicit funds from me. When I addressed this issue with them, they were defensive but still did not reply about the violin lessons. I continued to receive letters asking for money until I had the emails sent to spam.
