Limited amount of time plus no data. They even gave me wifi hot spot for a minute to connect the person I was buying the ukulele for. Out of the 4 stores near by this store stood above the rest. I highly recommend.
Jason from Lahaina Music was great! I saw his videos on YouTube so I called! I told him what I wanted to spend on a ukulele and he asked me some questions to guide his recommendations. Then he made me my OWN VIDEO to hear the three he recommended. He explained the differences then I picked one with a warm tone, as I didnt want too bright. I chose a laminate because we have such dry heat here. All these aspects were discussed with him, as he thoroughly explained pros & cons using his video and our phone conversations. Much better experience than ordering a raw ukulele from amazon, which I did, then had to return it. Jason made sure the frets were smooth and he adjusted the height of the strings for me by shaving the saddle. He put on a low G string instead of leaving the regular G string on it because I wanted more depth. I also ordered a case & tuner from him. Cost me $25 more for shipping, but it was worth it for such a personally customized ukulele!
The owner was super-friendly and helpful. Also, they provide guitar and uke weekly rentals for reasonable rates. Definitely recommend!
2. Kula Gold Co.

Awesome shop, knowledgeable and friendly owner, great instruments at a fair price. He let me play to get a feel for the instrument and it’s sound. Definitely recommend this place.
Owner was beyond helpful and knowledgeable.
They had a great selection, sticker prices were a touch over online prices BUT sale (on all ukes) brought it below.
Owner respected price ranges and had excellent selections in all ranges.
Very good experience, low to no pressure sale.
Would send anyone looking for a ukulele to him in a heart beat, $40 – over a grand.
Just amazing! Woow
Worst customer service ever. The man working there couldn’t even bring his head up off his iPad to acknowledge our presence. Too bad too because I was ready to buy a ukulele.
3. Lāhainā Custom guitars & repairs

This is a great music shop. I purchased a guitar and soft case there at a great value. I was visiting Maui for a few weeks and wanted something “not too expensive” to play during my stay. I figured it would be a throw away but Avi turned me onto an excellent instrument with instructions on how to get it home to North Carolina on the plane. I could not be more pleased with the guitar or Avi – Great guy great value. Note I saw Avi play during my visit – Killer.
Avi was really nice and extremely knowledgeable. Went in to talk with them about buying a ukelele to learn to play and he got me set up with a great little beginner instrument. Thanks for your help and your patience!
Avi rocks! Literally and figuratively! Great gear, reasonable prices, personal service. Artistry from the tangible to the intangible. 5 stars are too few. I cannot recommend this operation highly enough.
A great place to get a custom guitar. The guy is really passionate and just loves music.
terrible service kicked me out when was trying out a guitar i was going to buy

2. Lessons from Reuben at Maui Music Mission!
It has enhanced and changed both of our lives! We have magic moments of our time on Maui and the joy of music that fills our hearts and souls with ALOHA!! The amount of pride that we share is incredible!!
Many mahalos!!
I was home visiting Maui for a few weeks and was walking through Lahaina Center. Then I heard some ukulele chords being played. I followed my ears and saw some beautiful instruments in the wall through an open door. I walked in and heard Reuben sharing knowledge and teaching a little boy some chords and giving him encouragement to keep practicing. It reminded me so of when I was a keiki and mom was teaching me ukulele and we would play together and sing every Friday night. Long story short- I ended up buying an awesome Amahi travel ukulele from Reuben. His aloha spirit and positive energy are infectious and he cares about what he does and it shows. So keep up the good work Uncle Reuben- I appreciate you and what you do.
