Great place to get your sound system installed. Martin has been in the 12V industry for decades and is very knowledgeable in all types of music equipment repairs. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for the best.
Martin does an awesome job and very friendly
Un lugar espacial para intalar sonidos y alarmas
Great friendly service
Don’t recommend too expensive and does ugly work
No recomendo es may carò y cochino el trabajo que entrega
All they care is about money. They will ruin your setup to try to make you buy replacement parts from
Them. Came in with working system just with one blown subwoofer and left with everything dissembled and nothing working.
3. McDonald’s
Address: 10320 Main St, Lamont, CA 93241 , Lamont , California , United States
it’s not that great. The food hardly ever taste fresh && they usually mess up drive-thru orders. I had stopped going for a good while because I was annoyed with there service . The service is usually better in the morning. It’s rare when they slide the window open and say ” good morning or good afternoon ” …
Today I went for the hunting eggs at McDonald I notice. At the time of the raffles. The staff from McDonald’s family was winning the prices, I saw all those poor kids jumping to win something but they only have one ticket and they never win. But the staff family had like ten tickets per person so they win all the prices. I ask one of the supervisor why those people had 20 ticket and she laughed at me and said oh because she had 20 kids. I wish somebody stop and do something for those kid, they deserve to have the opportunity to take a toy home.
Worst place to go for fast food! Waited for 15-20min for a dumm burger!
I just can’t believe I paid almost 5 dollars for a large…
These guys came to us personally to discuss what we needed. They worked with us on a price and even found cheaper options that would work better for us than what we thought we needed. They genuinely love what they do and it shows. Thanks again!

Love the people that work here. I’m not an audio expert, I was just looking for a good starter guitar and they went above and beyond to find something for me. I ended up deciding on this Yamaha guitar for a really good price. Whether you’re looking for starter products or professional help you can’t go wrong with them!
I love this store. Not only are the people there friendly and helpful, most of the prices are a good deal here too! There was only one item I can think of that I bought that wasn’t wonderful, and after talking to the Carlos, His gave me a great deal on it. I don’t know what else you can ask for in a music store. They’re friendly and the have great gear and good prices.
5. Guitar Center
Address: 3428 Ming Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93309 , Lamont , California , United States
always a great experience with the staff. Great customer service.
Great selection of guitars
Good friendly service and customer service!! I’ll be back.
If you need strings, picks, straps, typical musical gear, they likely have it. Their in store selection isn’t what it used to be, not a large selection of guitars, basses and amps (compared to a few years ago), and it’s hit and miss with employee product knowledge. I wish they carried more diy parts, such as machine heads, bridges, maintenance kits and the like.
Great selection, service is expert, but wish there were more people.
i had a better experience back in 2010. In 2010 they would greet you and assist you quickly. now (2015) they don’t give a damn. took 20 mins to get help. while everyone would walk past you and ignore you.
Rude, not very helpful, and they don’t have a lot of knowledge about what they sale.
Well : I asked for help, and no body cares, I was looking for a guittar Strings, for a flamenco guittar, and this guy told me it’s no strings like that, that’s a style, I Was???? Wath!! I found them on line, .. Bad customer service, that guy don’t know his job… I don’t recommend it to no one,
6. California Keyboards Music Center
Address: 2408 Brundage Ln, Bakersfield, CA 93304 , Lamont , California , United States
Very nice service! And very great prices on ukuleles!
Expert staff with expert knowledge. Friendly and courteous.
Excellent service!
They surpassed my expectations with my repairs and supplies.
Thank you California Keyboards!
Store manager was great. Confident, knowledgeable, friendly. Bought a Casio for my kids and I. Store needs an “Open” sign….it looked closed to me.
Great service. Instructors terrific. Friendly family run place.
Buena atención con sus clientes y familiar.
Rented a trumpet for my son’s lessons at school for 2 years in the rent to own program. Called in two times to check balances and see if we were almost paid off since I never actually received a receipt for direct deposits. When I called they would give me balance info and options. Just called today because I knew it should be paid off by now. Then big surprise! Rent to own will let you keep making payments over the value of the instrument and you can “rent forever” without them contacting you to sign over the instrument. It is up to you to follow up and get the instrument signed over , that you already paid for. How this can be called a rent to own service is beyond me. I ended up paying over $100 more of the value of the instrument. The company would have have continued charging me if I didn’t check in. My fault for thinking this was a service that had a system that didn’t rely on their customers oversights.
It’s a whole process to rent an instrument. The contract is Ridiculous. They’ll only let you rent and OLD trombone (or any instrument for that matter) for minimum three months it’s not like the image they give that the rentals are only for a month. -_- would not recommend.
Tl;dr – Was promised same day service. Left without anything done 4 days later.
I phoned California Keyboards on Tuesday morning and asked, “If I buy a pack of strings, could I pay an extra fee to have you restring my guitar?”
The person on the phone replied, “Yes. OR if you have your own pack of strings, you could just bring the pack and the guitar in and pay for a restring.”
This was great news. I had a bunch of packs of strings since I order in bulk.
“How long will that take?”
“If you bring it in the morning, it will probably be done early the same afternoon.”
Perfect! I was really strapped for time, and I live up the street. This seemed like it was going to work out really well.
I take my guitar and strings in. They put my name in the system. I get a printout for a work order, and I’m on my way.
Two days go by with no phone call, so I call them. It isn’t ready. I believe there was no explanation beyond that they just hadn’t gotten to it yet. So without anything else, I hang up and think I’ll either get a call later that day or early the next morning.
I’m writing this on Saturday — 4 days after dropping it off — and no phone call. So I drive up the street with my purchase order to get my guitar whether it’s done or not.
Surprise: It isn’t done.
The only saving grace is that whoever the manager on duty was offered a free pack of strings for my troubles which I declined since I already buy in bulk. He then pivoted to offer a discount on the next repair if I mention this instance, but I’d only bring my guitar back here if I were desperate at this point.
The fact of the matter is that I personally know people at the other music shops in town, so I made a special effort to come here rather than support my other friends’ businesses. Granted, it WOULD have been convenient for me due to the location, but it ended up being more headache than I had planned.
I didn’t feel like a priority. And I wasted more time by coming here rather than just doing it myself or taking it to a friend to support THEIR business.
7. La Jaula Music
Address: 2105 Edison Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93305 , Lamont , California , United States
Very nice and helpful at this music store! Thank you
Customer service is great. They’re experts so whatever you’re asking they know what you need. They’re all very professional, courteous, and most of all attentive. I had came in for my daughter to get her very first violin. They explained all the necessities she needed required for her school specifically. They weren’t trying to sell more than what was needed. They’re overall hands down a go to place. Love it!
Very nice and helpful
They were good when they first opened in Bakersfield. Now… After nearly 4 months of waiting, half of my instrument repairs are coming back. Great company as long as you aren’t expecting anything timely.
Although I will say they are helpful and polite inside the store, I’m rating them a 2 because they promised a part that I ordered almost a month ago would only take 7-10 days to come in. It has now been over 25 days and it’s still not in stock. I finally decided to order it on amazon and I will get it tomorrow.
9. Front Porch Music
Address: 1711 19th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301 , Lamont , California , United States
I bought a guitar here for my daughter who’s just learning how to play. The owner was really nice, showed us different guitar options for begginers. He even gave us some tips. I would come here again for any musical instruments – I definitely recommend it.
Super nice guys and very helpful
Friendly staff
pretty cool store nice and polite guys work there they sure know a lot about music and instruments.
The store is kinda messy tons of stuff everywhere but I like it anyway 😀
Quite cluttered, but alot of accessories. Might be able to find something surprising.
Went by for some guitar strings and a winder. Was helped by gentleman in the shop. Seemed helpful enough. The place has been around for a looooong time. Kind of an icon of downtown local business. Shop looks like it always has. They need a neon sign.
Bought used amp from them online, it arrived poorly packed, and immediately had problems with microphonic tube noise. They were supposed to overnight new tubes to me, but the guy on chat literally said that his boss took the tracking number home. Like they didn’t use computers?! In their chats they never identify themselves personally, so I didn’t know who I was talking to. They said just pack it up and we’ll refund your money… they finally did, but not return shipping. And then they just stopped responding to my texts at all. Very disorganized and disrespectful. Do not do business with them online, you’ll get the runaround.
Somebody said boys club I totally agree. They follow you around like you’re a thief. They don’t give you a chance to browse, and they’re pretty rude.
Went into this place to buy my first guitar back in 1999, I did. They ripped me off and took advantage. But oh well, I guess kids are easy targets. But the thing that really got me was when I asked to mess around on a boogie they had about a year layer, they sent some kid over “so I wouldn’t break it” and that is why they haven’t got a dime more from me. Owner said that too. Being treated like that left a bad taste in my mouth. Could have earned a few grand off me easily if you knew how to treat people
Thomas, the owner, was so so helpful! I don’t know much about guitars, but I wanted to get my husband a gift that he would really like. Thomas helped me pick out a couple of pedals and a few other accessories that my husband loved. Great local company!
Great store and our kids love the music lessons.
They are the best music store! Everyone is so nice! And they have the best gear! 11/10 would recommend
Great clean place. I would like to return a saxophone I rented for my daughter, who can I contact during this shutdown?
My daughter is renting a violin for school so that’s all I’ve delt with in the store, buuuut they do have great customer service.
Good prices
Called these guys and talked to someone for about 15 mins about selling some audio equipment, and was confirmed that they purchase out rite and was even asked what I was trying to do with everything and I said I’m trying to sale it to pay some bills and he said ok gotcha bring it over tomorrow, then I get there and they act like they don’t know what I’m talking about and told me they don’t purchase items for cash. Employees gave me wrong info
Guy with shaggy hair and tall is very rude, think is name was Arron or something,
I went today for my first time and loved it man these guys are awesome I recommend these to everyone
