I visited this shop. Lady waiting on me was so helpful. Prices were great, items well displayed, some new things. In all I was pleased with my purchases!
Wonderful store!
Many items to shop!
nice place lots of stuff to look at. I felt that the prices were a little high on the stuff I collect. staff was very friendly.
3. Salmon River Coffee Shop
Address: 604 Main St, Salmon, ID 83467 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
Friendly people. Yummy baked goods. Nice selection of tea.
In town for a weekend visit- very friendly staff and super fast getting coffee out! 10/10 experience!
This is the independent coffee shop of my dreams!! Cute little scrumptious homemade donuts, pastries and pretzels. Hand drilled coffee made to my exact specifications. Large indoor seating with overstuffed comfortable chairs and super friendly owners and staff. Total gem and has only been open 2 months. This will be a stop for me everytime I come through Salmon!
this is a brand new coffee shop in what used to be a bar in this town. I ordered a 16 ounce latte and a blueberry scone the coffee was delicious and bold. The scone was fresh, and the gentleman behind the counter, offered to heat it up for me. Excellent customer service.
Fun place with great tea. A little cold to sit for very long
It’s a wonderful thrift store. Rags & Wags proceeds support our local animal shelter. The staff in the store are very good at helping you find what you’re looking for.
Love this place!!! My daughter and I go there every time we come! The employee’s are super nice! 10/10 would recommed
The friendly staff, low prices, and ever changing supply at this thrift shop make for fun browsing and great finds. A large part of their proceeds go to supporting the local animal shelter too! An all around good place.
Good selection but a few people that work here are very rude.
Some prices are very random specially computer related they have a few outdated worthless item no sane person should buy such as 15 yr old equipment and software.
Found some great treasures! Love this place.❤
I don’t know what gives these pepole the right to take my 400$+scooter off the kick stand and tip it over by the trash I parked it out of the way ,would they move someone’s car out of the way if they wanted to I don’t think so I won’t be going back

6. Idaho Academy of Music
Address: McCall, ID 83638 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
We relied on Steve and the Computer Zen team to champion a complete communications overhaul, moving from traditional landline to a full VoIP solution. With over 30 phone extensions and replacing five traditional lines, the project needed to be coordinated well. We were happy to see that all functions worked as needed from the beginning. As we learned the phone system better and better, we gained new capabilities that we could have never done on our old phones. These features became mission-critical after COVID hit, and much of our work force began to work from home. Steve gave us so much time and attention to help dial things in, that I actually started feeling guilty. He never complained. Steve will do the same for you. He a an upstanding gentleman through and through.
Awesome customer service
Can I give less stars? After a recent call by an employee I was told I could upgrade my Internet so I said great! Come to fine out I was getting into a 2 year commitment which no one ever mentioned so I cancelled it with the Internet provider. Terrible business tactics!!
I live in salmon and when I revenues my replacement phone from a another store when I went in for help with my activation and set up I treated so rudely that I walked out and drove the 120 miles to the store in Hamilton and they_were wonderful
Rude customer service and will never go there again I will use Amazon or kmc computer better customer service and they actually know what there talking about
I wouldnt even give them a star computer gets 0 stars for me
8. McCall Music Studio
Address: 3605 ID-55, McCall, ID 83638 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
Very impressed by their customer service and management. Thank you for your great service!
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Great local resource for music!
Always fun, a good selection for most things and the staff is always friendly.
Very nice place
Friendly service had what I was looking for
I went there, asked to borrow a guitar cable, and the old guy there said “what for?” After explaining the obvious, he said he didn’t want me playing anything unless I was going to buy something. He then tried to force me to use an amp that I didn’t want to use. After he walked away, I plugged into the tube amp that I wanted to use. He then came back and told me that I wasn’t allowed to play any of the tube amps that were out for people to try. My question is this: why have the tube amps out on the showroom floor if people aren’t allowed to try them? I’m never coming back.
I would never shop at this store, I made the mistake of signing my son up for their rental program which is nothing more than a high interest, high harassment loan scam. These guys are a complete joke. The complete lack of customer service, along with the harassing phone calls, and creepy home visits are enough for me to contact law enforcement. DO NOT give this company your business!
If it would allow me to give less than a full star I would have. Will never step foot in this establishment again.
10. Pickers Paradise Weiser
Address: 23 W Idaho St, Weiser, ID 83672 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
Guys working here are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Was able to pick up some guitar accessories at very reasonable prices and walk around talking like I actually knew what some of the instruments were called. ” at least I knew mine required 6 strings”.
I recommend even those who don’t know what a capo or wah pedal are to go in and check out the place.
Mike’s can be instrumental in anyone’s life…
Amazing. I got my first guitar and saxophone from here. Me and my brother also take lessons from Juan and Jeremy respectfully. Amazing service. Amazing people
Customer Service here is AMAZING! Always knowledgable, if they don’t know something- they’ll find the answer for you. And Mike has always been fair with pricing. I’ll always support the locals!
Best tacos out the door.
Great service, very knowledgeable staff
an alright selection, the old dude made me feel like leaving due to the stink eye.
Only buy stuff when certain people around, won’t be back
They do have great deals but only work with a few individuals that they approve.
Bad customer service
12. Seidel Music & Repair
Address: 344 Thain Rd, Lewiston, ID 83501 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
It is always a great experience. This guy knows what he is doing. There is no one within 150 miles that knows as much as Kelly does about musical equipment. He is a professional musician and as such can help aspiring young musicians find the right gear for their venture. He is a wealth of information and is always willing to help. I have owned a myriad of musical equipment over the years and there is no-one I trust more than Kelly. In fact there is no-one I would Trust with my equipment other than Kelly If it can be repaired he can do it.
Always a great place!! Kelly has excellent customer service and is very informative! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!!
It is always s good experience at Seidel Music. I got some very good guitar strings and some exelent advise.
Nice guy, good work! I had them fix a clarinet.
Good place and quick.
Very knowledgeable staff
They ran a hard credit check on my credit report without my knowledge or consent. I’m very mad at the ding it caused my credit score. Plus it’s just cheaper to buy off amazon. These mom and pop shops are closing themselves down by their own actions. Bye-bye!
One gentleman who works there is nice but the other is quite rude and makes you feel like unless you buy from them, your stuff is garbage.
13. Gig’s Music
Address: 611 N Orchard St, Boise, ID 83706 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
These people are awesome extremely helpful. I’ve never seen a music shop that sells local bands merchandise and are supportive of the local music scene as well.
It took a while to get parts for my amp shipped in but Andy kept in touch and did an amazing job. Purrs like a kitten now. Won’t take my gear anywhere else.
I had just done some pricing of available amplifier tubes at, gulp, Guitar Center, when I decided to call these guys before visiting the store.
The very first guy I talked to (meaning: I didn’t have to be transfered, unlike EVERY time I call Guitar Center) was extremely knowledgeable on the subject. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but he gave me specific reasons for why each tube might be desirable, directed me towards independent online resources, and asked for the specifics of my rig. He seemed more concerned about me finding the tone I wanted, than he did about making a sale.
Naturally, I went over to Gig’s Music and bought the Mullard 12AX7 preamp tube I planned to buy anyway. But it was the service of the employees which sent me there.
Great help and service. Instruments were priced Right and in great condition for being used.
I remember, not too long ago Gigs Music Company was owned and operated by Rick and Debbie Schroeder. They had an impressive enventory. Then it changed hands you another great musician who worked for the Schroeders from the beginning and held it’s integrity. It seems those days are over. I’ve been there a few times lately and it saddens me to say it’s really gone down hill. To say the service is poor would be a understatement. The inventory lacks quantity and quality both. It’s definitely not getting a favorable critique from me. Three stars is more than generous in my view.
The store is small, and the selection of instruments is not exactly large. Chances are, you’ll only find between 3 and 5 bass guitars for sale. There is usually an adequate amount of electric guitars to browse through though. Also, a fairly good selection of acoustic guitars. And, you’ll probably find some other instruments, like cigar box guitars, ukes and banjos.
If you are looking for used instruments and good deals, I think Gigs is worth visiting.
Andy, the store’s proprietor, is friendly, quite helpful, and easy to talk to. Several musicians I’ve talked with say he is a very good guitar tech.
There are one or more guitar teachers working there. I heard one was quite good, but I can’t remember his name, sorry. The teacher or teachers work with both adults and kids.
The worst thing about the store is sometimes people smoke in there. I don’t like being in an enclosed environment in which people are smoking. I tend not to stay long when I smell cigarette smoke. That’s just nasty, and discourages business.
If this store sold more bass guitars, and if no one ever smoked inside, I’ve be giving Gigs a 5 star rating instead of 4.
Egh. A big, mostly empty space filled with pawn shop guitars, dusty packs of new old stock strings, and rack gear from 1991.
Ordered a Christmas gift for my husband from this place last year, and I’m still waiting. I called them 3 times about it and was told it was on order and they would call me. Never received a call. Very unprofessional. I believe in shopping local, but not at this Boise business.
Talented man with music skills. Awful business techniques.
14. Monkeyman Music
Address: 135 N 3rd E St, Mountain Home, ID 83647 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
Dropped two guitars off to get some maintenance taken care of. Can’t be happier with the service! Both guitars play like new, the turn around was great, and the price was even better. I also love the fact they are open to 8pm!!!
Calling this establishment “mediocre” would be too much of a compliment. My brother went in to ask if the man had any guitar parts and was treated like an inconvenience. The man had his back to him the whole time, was very dry and rude and had awful customer service overall, once my brother asked about guitar lessons though is when the man perked up and became chatty. Only when money was in the conversation was he interested. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
15. Blue Rider Music & Instrument Repair
Address: 595 W Ustick Rd, Meridian, ID 83646 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
Mark Dunkley repaired my mother’s piano for free, 1 1/2 years after they sold it, when the manufacturer wouldn’t repair it under warranty, amazing customer care.
Dunkley’s has tuned a piano for me twice now. Professional, on time, and willing to even explain the process to me because I was curious. Thanks, Jared!
I found Maddie to be genuinely kind and helpful
She was professional and prompt in fixing the issues I needed taken care of with my daughters violin. I definitely recommend Dunkley’s Music in Meridian.
Back when Dunkley’s was in-town in Boise, I was an avid customer…they always have been professional and friendly all-in-one! They still are.
All of my musical equipment, specifically my violin and flute for school orchestra/band, came from here. And I am impressed with it nowadays!
GOOO Dunkley Music!!!
I enjoy DM very much. It’s so much fun to look around to see all the instruments they have in-store. They had the gift I was looking for (and then some). Someday, I’ll take those violin lessons. For now, I’m saving up to get myself that keyboard bench.
It’s alright. If you’re looking for Orchestra stuff I would recommend Telford and Sons.
Staff have very poor customer service skills, their attitude was down right rude. My issue was not resolved- despite being a customer for 8 years. It seems loyalty no longer matters to Mark Dunkley.
Best wishes to you.
The worst customer service wish I could give a 0.
I hesitate to share this review because I’m sure they have quality product and talented professionals at Dunkley. However, both times I have visited the Boise location the customer service was non existent. I won’t speculate too much why (although I have my suspicions) but being completely ignored (not even made eye contact) by multiple employees for the entire duration of the visit is unacceptable service. I’ve heard from other people who’ve had the same experience. I’ll continue going to Dorsey music in Nampa for this reason.
17. Rick’s Music
Address: 915 W Flamingo Ave, Nampa, ID 83651 , Lemhi County , Idaho , United States
This shop is for real. Everything you need, without all the fuss. The guy running it is very knowledgeable and kind. This is the kind of shop all musicians should support!
A lot of cool guitars and analog type gear. I went in because I was looking for a new MIDI controller, and some other odds and ends Having to do with doing work on a DAW. There was nothing for my computer recording. It’s a sick store and the customer service was great.
Good selection of equipment, guitars, pa and accessories. A good guy to deal with.
I had Rick set up my guitar. He did a Fantastic job. Fast and reliable. One day service. I would Recommend him all who needs guitar service. AAA++++
Rick is a great guy, and there’s always a gem or two hanging on the wall. Good prices, too!
Last Saturday I took my most prized possession to Rick, I paid to have a set up and new strings put on my Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute pro. When I got it home I pulled it out and wanted to play it. I noticed right off the bat that Rick took a Utility knife or some other tool and shaved off the binding all around the fret board The fret board has gouges all the way around and the frets stick out and gouge your fret hand when you try to play it. My guitar is completely ruined! I haven’t slept in several days I’m so pissed. I in no way implied, asked for or mentioned that he do this to my guitar. I can’t even open the case it makes me so sick! I would not recommend Rick to anyone again. Rudy Rodriguez Nampa Idaho
