Great selection of beers on tap and the food is tasty. All of this and a sports bar setting……and friendly service.
Great beer selection and food that’s a step above. Friendly staff and events that you wouldn’t expect.
Once again a great evening. Staff is always friendly, energetic and hustling. I order smaller portions only because I can’t eat it all or I should not eat it all. Never left that place unhappy. Ever.
Very busy for 8:30 Saturday night still. Good for KUT. Just ordered so I can’t comment about the food but the servers have been prompt and friendly.
Burger for the win
Clean nice and good food
Our party of 8 were patrons here last Saturday at 2 PM. The staff is friendly, but lacked the personable skills to make the place Great. Specifically, we had a 50th birthday in our party. When I asked if there was something special we could do for the birthday lady, the response was “that’s not something we usually do and the owner is not here so….”
I was looking for a response along the lines of “we don’t usually do that, but I appreciate you spending your 50th birthday with us, how about a cold beer on the house!? (or a hat to wear or an announcement or whatever)….something which is Inviting and Personable in nature.
It is with much regret that in full disclosure I have to say the food was not good either. The chicken sandwich was the thinnest piece of meat I’ve seen and the buffalo chicken was the worst I’ve experienced.
In all fairness, I’ve spoken with other local residents and learned the owner is a respected chef, but he was absent during our visit.
In addition, the prices were fair. Had the service had that personable touch and the food been better, I would have happily paid the $60 bill and 15% tip. I paid the bill without complaint since the owner was absent and I will move on with a lesson learned.
Here’s my advice:
If you’re simply drinking a beer, this place should be fine as their tap selection is good. If you’re eating lunch or dinner, or you are there for a special occasion, make the 20 minute trip to Bloomington to eat.
Never been there and they sell beer
It was Thursday at 11am so not busy. Seated and given menu told to place order at bar. Wasn’t obvious this was a “no service” place so hubby added tip in when he ordered/paid. Guess he assumed someone would at least ask us if we need more water, nope. No one ever asked us how the food was, if we need anything else. The french dip was totally “undippable” it had obviously been microwaved because the bun was so hot the sandwich could not be picked up. The bun was soggy by time it cooled down some. So ate with a plastic fork, au jus was useless. Menu should say “soggy scalding bun” not toasted bun. On plus side there was plenty of beef the sandwich was simply made to be a soggy open face which is not what I expected in a french dip. Hubby did not like blue cheese sauce on his burger, and he is a big blue cheese lover. His hamburger bun was soggy too- had to eat with fork.
Onion rings were good. Potato leek soup so-so I would not that order again. Overall we will not go back because of the food, and unclear why of all the staff present, and only a few customers, no one could bother to even ask us how things were or say “hey thanks for coming” when we left. Guess this is really a “no service place” if you like that. But it should be made clearer up front- do not add tip into your lunch bill because you get no service at all after your food is placed on your table.

Address: 307 W Main St, Lexington, IL 61753 , Lexington , Illinois , United States
I make a trip through Lexington once a week. Everytime I stop here it is perfect. Small details like the ratio of ice to drink are carefully thought of. The food is delicious, fries always are fresh, and I still can’t believe the burgers are as good as they are. If you find yourself strolling by the exit, stop here, because this place is legit. Hats off to the owners.
Excellent Service And Amazing Food I Wish All Locations Were The Same But Unfortunately They’re Not
Kind and welcoming staff. Food was good
Great fries
Good quick meal, need to train the drive thru staff better.
The fries were hot but the meat was cold.
Literally took forever to make the food. Didn’t give a bottle of water instead gave a cup. Also did not make my burger right. I asked for a specific thing and the person did not know how to use the machine for what I asked for. Instead they plugged in the normal thing so my order was wrong and we had to go back in. They literally could only do one order at a time and it wasn’t even that hard. Workers not up to par.
I never went to checkers
5. Taunia L. Henry
Address: 30607 N 1750 East Rd, Gridley, IL 61744 , Lexington , Illinois , United States
Found the right cable lengths with the correct ends I needed. Price, service, and delivery were all spot on.
I received wonderful service, staff is very knowledgeable and our rental instrument was ready for pick up on less than 24 hours! All around a great experience!
Very friendly folks, they’re doing something right .
Being new to Bourbonnais, I signed up for music lessons in the store and scheduled lesson times. I received a note from the instructor informing me that time was double booked. Worked out a new schedule with the instructor (starting next week). I don’t have any other experiences with Kings at this time.
Very friendly people.

Absolutely terrible first of all their guitar tech is either rude or racist either way he basically wouldn’t take accountability for his mistake accused me of lying just to look stupid when I was prooven right never apologized I was told I would get a refund if something sold to me was not the right size well it wasn’t I ended having to come back three times after they finally took a measurement and guess what no refund for the first defective product because they don’t do that after an employee told me they did every single one of them was rude all of them should be fired if you’re black just go to guitar center straight up
Trash
7. Lexington Social
Address: 322 W Main St, Lexington, IL 61753 , Lexington , Illinois , United States
Quite the little gem! Nestled romantically in Lexington! Food was next level.
If you’re looking for an unique dining experience, look no further! Lexington Social combines high-quality ingredients, talented staff, and a retro, post-modern environment wrapped up in a menu that changes often, and isn’t overwhelming…all in small town USA.
It includes an intimate, yet spacious dining room that allows private conversations to be had at the table without feeling too close to other customers, and well designed in terms of the layout. The drink menu has an unique selection of beers, wines, and cocktails that also cater to a variety of interests and taste buds. The menu contains dishes, that while unique and likely using ingredients/food you are not likely to experience anywhere in a 60+ mile radius, is diverse enough for a variety of tastes.
The desserts, all prepared homemade by the chef/owner’s mother is filled with powerful flavors that will satisfy anyone who is looking to satisfy a sweet tooth after a meal. The servers were well disciplined, attentive, and courteous. Their small-talk at the table was appropriate and catering to the needs of those in attendance. The chef and owner, made it a priority when having some down time in the kitchen to make an appearance on the floor welcoming people and asking about their experience; a friendly and nice touch for the patrons.
The restaurant itself was clean, appeared organized, and the seating was firm, yet comfortable. Pricing will likely be perceived on the high-end, but not inappropriate for the quality of food, service, and experience that you will receive, and certainly not as expensive as a similar experience in a bigger city. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, date night, or just to experience something new, while supporting local business and likely local farmers.
You won’t be disappointed with the experience unless you’re expecting food items that you can often get at mainstream restaurants or are wanting a “budget meal.” I highly recommend it, especially if you’re a foodie and enjoy trying new things while supporting local, small business owners, farmers, and communities.
Delicious! Brunch, dinner and cocktails never disappoint and are always authentic! Yum yum yum…
Great experience and great staff. Very expensive not a casual night out . Had glass cider 36 dollars was good but wow.
Had heard wonderful reviews about Lexington Social and wanted to give it a try. The eclectic restaurant is situated in the cutest old train depot and has a very intimate atmosphere.
The food is very tasty but portions are very small for the amount of money they are priced at. We had the Slagel chicken which comes with a sauce and about 3 mushrooms on top. No sides. $28.00. We had also ordered two appetizers that were also tiny – literally arranged on a quarter of a plate. We did have 4 people in our group so we each got a literal spoonful of each appetizer. They are delicious, but again you’d hope for something more substantial for the cost.
Unfortunately we went on one of the hottest evenings of this summer. It was stifling in the restaurant. I get it…it’s an old building and I won’t fault the restaurant for that.
However, when the temperature is so warm offering cold water instead of room temp water to the tables would be helpful. We asked our waiter twice for ice cubes to help cool our drinks – neither time were any brought to the table.
I am giving you what myself and party experienced. The food is absolutely delicious. For the $ 350.00 we spent, none of us were full by the time we left. It was disappointing to say the least.
Awesome food but everything Is a la carte, even bread and butter and iced tea. Owner and chef came to tables and chat, nice folks.
If I could give 0 stars I would. First time trying this place. Our service was beyond poor as there is no way it takes more than 20 min to pour a beer and the menu was misleading. We are locals with advanced pallets and won’t return, ever.
8. Horine’s Pianos Plus
Address: 1336 E Empire St, Bloomington, IL 61701 , Lexington , Illinois , United States
David is a fantastic person who really knows his stuff. I didn’t even realize that this place existed, but it’s apparently been here for 31 years! Even if you’re just fiddling around, making acquaintances with these wooden friends, he is friendly and more than welcoming to even the newest pianists. Thanks, David. 🙂
This place is great, I always get good service in a friendly atmosphere. Just wish they would be open on Sundays like I need guitar strings right now lol No biggy
10. Austin’s Violin Shop
Address: 316 Wheeler Rd, Sugar Grove, IL 60554 , Lexington , Illinois , United States
I was in the market for a cello. At first when I seen the ad for Austin Violin shop I was hesitent to go…Well it is 2 hours away from me. Fortune struck and some business came up for me in that area. So I called explained my situation and they were happy and welcoming to my needs. Having less than 3 months experience with a cello, they allowed me time to take it home play it and have my teacher evaluate the sound and quality. Plus they sent a hand full of bows. By this time I had brought a few different model from other shops to my instructor, but when I presented Austins model, and she heard it, she said this is the one you want. The quality is very good and the sound is fantastic. She even went as far as to say, you could use this to play with our community orchestra, it sounds that good. Oh I must say, this is a student model and affordably priced. My first year of owning it is half over, and in another few months I will return to Austin and have it’s yearly physical and new strings installed. I am sure she will pass with flying colors and beautiful sounds. Thank you Pat and the rest of the crew at Austins Violin Shop. Using Arnolds famous words ” I’ll be back “
Austin’s is a great experience very time I go in. Everyone is kind and friendly and know their stuff! They have a large selection of music books as well as beginner to high end instruments and can help with pretty much anything string instrument related. Overall a great local business for stringed instruments!
Great service and nicest people.
11. Christo’s of Lexington – Lexington IL
Address: 304 W Main St, Lexington, IL 61753 , Lexington , Illinois , United States
No coffee here! But you definitely get some synthetic Heroin allegedly. Every time I peek in it’s just cobwebs and crickets.
Only have had the coffee and was quite pleased
This place is right off of I-55, definently go in! The place is beautifully decorated, the owner is super nice and hospitable. The coffee is amazing, superb quality, piping hot. I was just passing through but felt like a local.
Nice atmosphere. Coffee is hot and fresh, but too light to my liking. Need a darker roast for me.
Christo’s is a favorite of ours to grab two smooth black coffees and muffins or scones to go on a Saturday morning if we head out of town. The owner knows our order, inquires about our kids if they’re not with me, and is all-around friendly and passionate about the Cafe and our city of Lexington in general. While edging slightly toward the pricey side, the food is of good quality. We’ve been by for dinner a couple times with visiting family and always leave satisfied.
