I thought this was very well stocked for a small store in the less traveled areas of Colorado. They did have block ice as well as bagged and several items that I did not expect to see except in a very large city store. The outside doesn’t look like much but the inside is fabulous. We bought more goods than we though we would because of how well stocked it is. Store service members were very friendly and willing to help.
Small town grocery store. The veggies and fruit we’re fresh and good choices. Good looking meats.
Over priced slim choices
The had a variety of different foods and I found everything easily and fast.
Over priced times 2-3
Poor selection
Bare minimum organic or natural foods
I need my dog because he is a service dog I just stopped in to get some 1 thing and the guy and the front was yelling at me and called the police because my dog who didn’t even bark or pee or bite anyone I was in and out real fast he was really rude and I wont be shopping there again
Very Expensive and can not bring any service animals in store. If you do they will kick you out.
6. McDonald’s
Address: 837 US-24, Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
We had a big order. Everything was “as ordered” and very fast. Great road trip stop.
Its alright
Me gustó la comida
My wife order on the touch screen, while I used the bathroom. It was so bad I was about to use the gas station across the street. When I came out they call our number. Then the lady was rudy asking you need something else. We said the rest of the order. We currently have no burgers just 2 fries. She got them and off we went.
We ordered through the Kiosk. Asked for tomatoes on 1 of the burgers, had to pay extra. There were no tomatoes. Asked for a ketchup only quarter pounder, it had onions, mustard and ketchup. Asked for double burger with mustard only, it had cheese on it. The fries and nuggets were cold.
It’s McDonald’s do I need to say anything else?
Cold food!
7. Dollar General
Address: 1250 Main St, Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
There so much cool stuff here. And a lot less “vastly spread out” like the big superstores. You can if you want get in and out , most times, tho, I find too much interesting stuff that I have to take longer to shop. But they got it going on. I highly recommend and say kudos for opening these in the small towns
Great selection! Great prices! Clean bathroom
Thank God there is a d.g. no wally world for an hour! Wake up Wal-Mart….you could make money here. Workers were helpful and sweet!
The shelves were very low of stock but found what I needed
Had everything i need an great employees
It’s a dollar general…. they pretty much the same everywhere….they do needs more room for bigger isles but room for 3 registers with 1 checkout person most time
Bathrooms are disgusting toilets are clogged told the employee she gave me attitude she gave me attitude she then would gave me more attitude because I tried to use the self check out and it wouldn’t work. Altogether I think I’d rather potty in a ditch. If negative stars were possible this would get negative 10 stars
Most of the employees are rude and act like you’re the worst person in the world if they have to help you or do their work at all which is crazy because by the looks of the store they aren’t doing much work anyway. They avoid the front of the store like the plague so if you need someone good-luck finding them because they hide in the back which is a maze to get to due to the big carts of empty boxes and stuff everywhere. Once you do find someone they will give you attitude so be prepared for that. Also if you’re a guy don’t work there bc the girls will put everything they don’t wanna do on you. Used to be a good store but the manager clearly shouldn’t be there based on my experience and many other reviews and stories I’ve heard from other people.
The dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen.
And it didn’t get that way overnight!
The manager should be ashamed!!!
LAZY MANAGER LAZY EMPLOYEES!
8. Big R Stores – Limon
Address: 150 7th St, Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
Very nice and friendly. Knowledgeable staff always willing to assist.
Clean store. Great friendly customer service. Huge feed selection
Bought baby chicks and they were reasonably priced buy 2 get one free.
Small store large prices, the people are great.
Nice place, nice people for the most part. It has everything for your country life style.
Couldn’t sell me pavers as they couldn’t find the code.
Just needed some propane but girls don’t have a clue on what they are doing they would not ask for help instead they said I need to go try somewhere else now I ended up driving all the way to Bennett 60 miles 1 way so many people told me not to bother coming here but thought this store can’t be as bad as they say well guess I should have listened to the town I won’t ever be back now
Been a regular Customer for 3 years now…employees were always polite and courteous.
Today the employees were non helpful and very rude.
I don’t think I will be going back
9. Flying J Travel Center
Address: 2495 Williams Ave, Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
I love the fresh brewed iced coffee!! I stop everytime I’m through just for it.
Nice staff and cheap gas!
Great food, fuel, shower. IHOP. Large parking lots for trucks and cars. Well stocked store and deli. Always stop here. Get all that I need.
It was ok
Price gouging needs to stop
Won’t be stopping here ever again! As a female truck driver I usually feel pretty safe where I’m at. I took a shower here and the inner lock for the shower was broken. A male employee walked in without knocking and of course I yelled at him to knock before unlocking a door and just walking in. When I reported it to the female manager there she didn’t even apologize. Flying J has really become a last resort truck stop for me.
Needs cleaned
10. TA Travel Center
Address: 2200 9th St, Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
Fantastic pit stop while traveling get your coffee or fuel and keep going
Their road squad team were lifesaver. Thank you so very much.
Currently the store is under remodel, no showers, bathrooms or laundry. They do have portable bathrooms and showers outside. The guy behind the counter said possibly November to be all up and running. The wait staff in the restaurant were nice.
Chip detection problem at pump so I had to go inside the young man inside was very nice however I wouldn’t go here again it didn’t give me a receipt at the pump I had to prepay inside and looks like the carpet in front of the door hasn’t been vacuumed in a month
Clean, services as expected.
Total waste of a shower as the whole place smells like nasty a$$ subway…. Now I have to gag on the smell….
Not sure why I didn’t post this experience last year but they came to my attention recently as a fueled across the street. As a brand new driver I had a mechanical issue at 4 am, it dark I’m tired and brand new. I stopped here and check in at 5 am asking for an assessment of the problem. They had me pull into the bay and never gave me an assessment just proceeded to do unauthorized repairs and gave me a 550 dollar bill for 1 turbo hose. Nobody called me or informed me why the problem was or estimated cost, I had to eat the cost because my company hadn’t approved anything as I wasn’t able to send it in. It was reviewed by Paul Flores who is the profit center manager and of course he flat out called me a liar and kept his profit margins up. Never shop ta Petro nationwide was the moral of this story
Worse services. Avoid this location if you don’t wanna lose your truck!
11. Limon Florist
Address: 221 A Ave, Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
They have always come thru. The flowers look fantastic and they have delivered even when I was late with my order.
Very friendly n great help
Very accommodating. Hot house is great.
Good selection of stuff. Alright on price.
Took care of our flower arrangments for my grandmothers funeral. Seemed disorganized and slightly irritated that we wanted an ARTIFICIAL wreath to reuse. Their fake flowers were really disorganized and dusty and the sales clerk didn’t give much help on designs. We also ordered 10 real carnations for the great grandkids to place on the casket….the flowers showed up slightly wilted and dried out, we were one flower short and 2 of the flower heads broke off the stem right away.
Absolutely ridiculous prices
Passing through. Seen better flowers. Not much choices for single flowers. Not all prices were there. Sad.
My son used his hard earned money to buy flowers for Parent’s Night on 2/20/2020. The carnations look fantastic; the roses not so much. The roses look horrid and started to dry out and die right away.
12. Limon Heritage Museum and Railroad Park
Address: Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
Nice little park area and museum, both farm items and railroad. Didnt remember to look for the geocache. Take your selfie under the bridge sign.
A fun way to spend a afternoon. Both museums have a lot to offer and have interesting exhibits. No admission fees. But contributions are welcome.
very nice and well kept pieces of farm and train artifacts. Good place to stop, lunch or take a break on a drive. Dog friendly. If the museum is closed, the grounds are open for walking around and browsing the equipment
Cool but closed on a Saturday.
13. Limon Motel
Address: 514 Main St, Limon, CO 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
Great customer service!
Very clean comfortable room and good WiFi service.
Awesome place !!!
We travel to Oklahoma from Montana a couple times a year, Limon is our halfway point. I was skeptical at first, but the first time I walked in the lobby to check into my room I was greeted by the owner and he is one of the sweetest men I’ve met. I was traveling with my two boys last winter and he brought us a big floor heater to make sure we stayed warm. Everything about the room was clean, and it smelled clean as well. I’m picky about cleanliness because I’ve worked at hotels before and I know how some housekeepers can be careless. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends looking to save a little bit of money while traveling, it’s worth it!
Stopped here on my way back to Denver and really enjoyed my stay. Management was very friendly and I had no complaints at all about my room. Work brings me out this way occasionally so I definitely plan to stay at this motel again!
Clean great beds
They don’t give you new towels or service your room in any way while you stay, unless you ask.
Nice people clean rooms, comfortable beds. 1950s design, good luck finding the light switch.
Not too happy
I don’t write long reviews, so I can’t detail all of the things that were wrong with our room. Just an awful and disgusting experience.
I moved into the hotel to live for the duration of my contract. When I first made my reservation it was for a room with a kitchenette. When I arrived I was placed in a hotel room with a bed a shelf and a fridge. The tv had a cable box hooked to it which the cable was not paid for and didn’t work. The TV had a remote not programmed to it with no way to change the input to watch my fire stick. I had to program the tv myself. Second the fridge microwave and air conditioner was plugged into a power strip. Everytime I used my water kettle the breaker would flip. Third this is a pet friendly hotel in which I was told I had to take my pets with me when I leave for the day because dogs are not allowed to bark at all even though my dog only barked whenever somebody was close and only during the day when the only tenants there was the owner and a house keeper. I was told the workers came home to enjoy peace and quiet not to hear my dog. Which he never barked when we were in the room. It is however ok for the workers to party several times a week. Blaring their music being loud and keeping me awake until sometimes 1 a.m when I have to be up at 4 a.m to go work a 12hr shift…JUST RIDICULOUS!!! only because the lady running the place was drinking every night going from room to room so the partying didn’t bother her and I was informed that it was only sometimes like that is ok to keep people awake. When I moved hotels and wanted my money back for four of the days since I would not be there for the remainder of the week i was told no and lost out on over $200.

15. Music Go Round
Address: 8055 W Bowles Ave #2C, Littleton, CO 80123 , Limon , Colorado , United States
Nice guys quick transaction. Knowledgeable and friendly.
Customer service was top notch, and the prices are very hard to beat….will definitely be coming back!
Just received my online purchase (zildjian dyno beat hi hat cymbal)from MGR Littleton. Couldn’t be happier. Great communication from Kobe. Fast shipping and packaged to perfection . Thanks!!
I had high hopes but just wasn’t impressed. Compared to the Aurora location, this store falls short.
The guitar area was decent with everything displayed nicely but the biggest disappointment was the amps. All the amps we’re covered in dust and we’re absolutely filthy compared to any other store I’ve been to. NONE of the amps were plugged into the power strips so you had to ask for all the cords and power cables just to try anything. That made trying to really test the sound of any guitar a nightmare.
The acoustic room was decent but everything good was locked up so one really couldn’t try much without assistance.
The keyboard section was ok but they definitely needed to be cleaned and at least plugged in for one to try.
The glass cases displaying pedals, audio interfaces, microphones and other accessories was good and decently organized.
All in all, it’s an ok store, but some serious attention needs to be paid to the presentation of all items, ESPECIALLY the guitar amps. All items need to be thoroughly cleaned and then put out on the floor with proper presentation with included power cables so every piece can be tested by the customer. No one wants to have to ask for all the missing pieces just to try something out.
Very knowledgable and helpful
Musical Go Round is a great place to find certain used gear at a decent price if you know what you are looking for. It is a fun place to look around. I have bought guitars, sound and drum gear over there. I like the fact that they have a variety of instruments / other gear there too. They also do guitar set ups here too. I have to give Doug props for making my old Squire Affinity play nice again.
I contacted the store online before buying the product online to make sure the store could deliver it within my timeframe. They assured me they would.
Now it’s the eve of their 2nd missed shipping opportunity and I won’t receive the gear in time. I had to purchase the item new and pay for overnight shipping to make sure I got it in time.
Between the purchase and now, the store had gone radio silent, despite my sending an additional email requesting information.
The upshot is that I purchased the gear through a reputable online dealer and will have my gear by Wednesday (today is Monday), rather than whenever the staff of this store decided to get around to it.
Btw… “Sorry dude” doesn’t cut it. Hope the store manager processes my refund with a greater sense of urgency and professionalism.
I wish this place was cool, but the prices are a little too high, the trade-in value is half of what you’d sell on Craigslist/Facebook, and the staff couldn’t care less. Nice browsing opportunity though.
Edit for owner: thanks for your response, I “understand” now.
I stand by my opinion. Best of luck.
Inquired about, and tested an amp, (The Roland Bolt-60) it wasn’t acting correctly so I mentioned it to them. It appears to have some grounding issues, making noise from filter capacitors most likely, as well as issues with the pots. I was still interested in it, however rather than correct their advertisement and pricing, or repair the amp, they told me to forget about it and that they wouldn’t be repairing it.
If this is how they handle broken products and continue to sell them in states of disrepair. This might serve as a good warning. I would worry about other products without completely testing it, and potentially having a second opinion.
16. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Limon , Colorado , United States
Andy and Kim are so kind and helpful. Ive come to Flesher since I was a kid and now so do my kids.
Can’t imagine going anywhere else.
Came in to by reeds and the F-H staff was very helpful and reassuring to my 11 year old, who is just learning to play saxophone. They answered his questions (and mine) and he left feeling much better about his prospects than when we came in. Thank you so much! P.S. Miss you on Tennyson but the parking IS way better at the new location.
Got my sax sorted out in a few minutes for far less than I was expecting it to cost
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
Like always the services people were just great.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
17. Limon
Address: Colorado 80828 , Limon , Colorado , United States
Lovely store with great staff! I wanted to learn a new instrument after not playing music for quite some time and decided on Mandolin, I found the folklore center online and went down to see about their rental program. I ended up renting a nice little mandolin that was great to start on and with little financial risk if I didn’t like it. After a month of lessons and practicing everyday I thought it would be nice to get an instrument on my own so I went back to the shop and had a great experience. There was a good variety of beginner mandolins in their inventory and the staff allowed me to play whichever I liked and really take my time getting a feel for them. I ended up walking out of the shop that day with a new instrument that I love and also a lot of knowledge on how to take care of it. Cannot recommend Denver Folklore Center enough!
Brought my old Eastman in for a set up, and they did an amazing job. Knowledgeable staff, interesting selection of instruments and sheet music. In the lively south pearl st neighborhood.
Retired and looking to take up guitar again since my teenage years. I tried some of the big guitar stores but was not satisfied with the customer service, thus I went to the Denver Folklore Center. I was met by Saul who got me headed in the right direction for my budget and what I wanted in a guitar. One of his staff sat with me and we worked through three guitars, eventually selecting an acoustic Kremona. So glad I made the trip and will continue to use The Folklore Center. Thanks Saul and staff.
This is a Great place for musical needs, instruments(Guitars,Ukeleles, Banjos) as well as Harmonicas are just some of the instruments that you will find. They offer services such as instrument repair, and lessons as well! Variety of books included.
This Music Store has been opened since 1962! Definitely one of Denver’s Gems! Lots of history about this place! Swallow Hill was located right across the street! (Back In The Day! The 60’s, 70’s and I believe the 80’s as well!)
With restaurants and breweries surrounding it’s location it makes for a wonderful attraction to visit!
Check it out!
Exciting to have a local non chain (read “Guitar Center”) acoustic musical instrument store in the hood. Experts in not only guitars, but dulcimers and mandolins too! Experienced in their craft, and repairs.
Even with restrictions, the guys inside were super friendly and helpful (they even gave us some stickers for my boys’ guitar cases). If we lived closer (like, within the same time zone) we’d probably have bought something!
An older man sat in the middle of the store and made it clear to not play any instruments unless you were basically committed to purchasing. It was a stiff and uncomfortable environment. It is easy to see from many of the reviews that the business model needs an adjustment. Highly discourage coming unless you want to grovel at the feet of the owner. Also, there were no fiddles. How can they even call themselves a folklore center?
I miss Harry. He was polite to his customers.
Terrible service and advice.
19. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Limon , Colorado , United States
I took my 94 year old mom to look for a guitar.
She complained that the price was to high on the guitar she wanted, so the guy gave her a discount, a soft cover, and 3 thumb picks.
These guys are great.
Very helpful and friendly.
Thank you for your service.
Best place to shop for music gear.
Very knowledgeable staff and unique instruments
Cool store, not the friendliest staff. Nice pedal selection.
Good inventory for a small place.
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
